Sadly, the owner of Nick's passed away and this company is now owned by Dunrite. I called that company based on the reviews of Nick's Air Services, but their services has definitely NOT been the same as mentioned on this profile. In summary, this company is expensive, can make improper recommendations, and the office is very difficult to get anyone to call you back. I absolutely would not use them again in the future and - had I read their Yelp profile for Dunrite Heating & Cooling - would never have called them in the first place. My experience: My air conditioning due to leaked refrigerant due to another HVAC technician not correct. Nick's/Dunrite came out during the same day and quickly identified the problem. There was a leak on the schrader valve. They got us back to running - for nearly $200/per pound of refrigerant. 5 lbs = about $1,000. Wow, but we had no choice as my original installer was not available. Our unit has not been keeping up with the 90s for the past two months and the technician recommended 3 different options. I chose 2 of the 3 options: a larger return air duct AND repairing the plenum. I was anxious to get the work scheduled and it took me hounding them to get them to schedule the work. Communicating with this office was very painful. I would never get calls back and would just get a text message indicating when they had scheduled the appointment. Their front desk support was exceedingly helpful but not empowered to do anything besides schedule appointments and pass along info. I finally had the appointment and the technician went to the wrong address. I got a call from them saying they had been at my house and then they proceeded to the next job. I spoke to them and learned they were at the wrong house, but could not turn around to go back to my house. I had to wait until the following week to get the appointment rescheduled. What a disaster. It got worse. The work was finally done - the return air duct and the plenum. I waited a couple of days, but there was NO change in the air conditioning. I called them back again and they scheduled another technician to come out. The second technician came out, a more senior technician, who confirmed that the unit was undersized and "working as it was designed" to cool at 75-76. I don't know a single person who is comfortable with 75-76 in the house when the outside is in the 90s. I called customer service again. When I finally got someone, I got a call from William, who is their most senior technician (an older guys in his late-50s probably). He came out with the original technical and instructed him how to properly do a heat load calculation. They determined indeed the unit is undersized and I needed a 3 ton. I called back the customer service asking for a refund to the work. I've called at least 3-4 times, each time speaking with a very nice person. However, I've still not been called back. What a disaster. I've finally had to resort to filing a complaint with my credit card and disputing it through them. It's unfortunate and I didn't want to have to do this, but - when no one will call you back - it's very very hard to trust this company to make things right.

They did say we could 'try to get on the list' if we called Saturday morning. Otherwise we could make an appointment for 5/21. I called to talk to Tiffany (owner) this morning and was told she was not in today. I asked to have her call me as soon as possible. I was then told she did not work there anymore. I purchased a new full home replacement system in April 2023…read more I have required service three times as the contacts(not any related) and the blower fan, Oct 2024 and June 2026, in the air handler has failed twice. I scheduled service and was told someone would call thirty minutes before tech. No time window, just a day. I contacted them at noon to confirm still scheduled and was told early to mid afternoon. At 5pm I was told the tech was an hour out. The tech arrived and confirmed that the blower was out and would have to be ordered. The tech then went into upsell mode and from wanting to estimate for more insulation to complete duct replacement. Three year old system and multiple techs from this same company having either installed or repaired and now this tech is recommending complete duct replacement as my family sits in mid 80 heat waiting for ac to be repaired. This tech says that the old techs from Lyons "don't know as much as he does" and that is why they never recommended the upgrade. I purchased from Lyons because of the great reputation at the time. In my opinion, this is not the same company and the customer service had taken a back seat to upselling.

They never gouge or try to pressure you to spend money beyond what is necessary. If you want a tech in your home to resolve the issue and Not act as a salesman, then look no further. I am sharing this recommendation because I have been burned by gimmicky A/C companies in the past. Jason's is the go to company especially in an emergency. I suggest you hire them for semi annual system checks to prevent problems. You'll be glad you did.

Aaron came out the next morning and was able to make a repair that was definitely less expensive than replacing the entire condenser fan motor. Aaron was very nice and professional and ended up gluing the magnet onto the motherboard or something like that. We had to keep the unit unplugged for 24 hours to allow the epoxy type glue to dry completely. I plugged it in 24 hours later as instructed and the refrigerator and freezer compartments got cool and have since stayed at the appropriate temperature. And here we are a week later and it is still doing just fine. If that repair hadn't done the trick and we did need to replace the fan motor, they are all on back order and I am confident Aaron would have been able to retrofit one that would work, with no problem. I am just disappointed at how cheaply appliances are made these days. But glad that I know who to call to fix them when needed. I highly recommend John's Appliance Repair!

I needed an electric stovetop burner control switch repaired, a job John's Appliance Repair had previously performed on another burner switch without any drama or issues. In contrast, Action Appliance diagnosed the issue, claimed it would be a major two-person job, and requested half the payment upfront before starting the work. Furthermore, they quoted me more than double the price I had previously paid. Consequently, I paid their trip fee and hired another company instead. The new company completed the job with a single technician, charged less than half of Action Appliance's quote, and did not require payment upfront.
