I recently checked out Adelinas Restaurant and Bar and had a really great experience overall. First, shoutout to our server Ryan, who was genuinely kind and attentive the whole time. Service like that always makes a difference and he made the experience feel really relaxed and welcoming. The space itself is cute and has a really nice vibe. They have a grass wall that makes a perfect photo backdrop, but just a heads up -- you'll need a larger table in front of it to sit there. If you're hoping to grab that spot for pictures, definitely come with a group of four or more. Another huge plus: free parking. If you know Philly, you know that alone is a win. It made getting there and leaving super easy. Making a reservation was also simple, and the crowd when we went was really diverse, which I always appreciate. Now the important part -- the food and drinks were great. I loved my drinks and everything we ordered hit the mark. One thing I really appreciated was the avocado toast, which was made with actual fresh avocado instead of one of those pre-made spreads a lot of places use. You can definitely taste the difference. I was nearby picking up some things I needed and we decided to stop in for a bite to eat. We were able to get some seating at the bar area. It's a chilly day so I got a hot cup of Earl Grey tea and the squash salad sounded absolutely magnificent I ordered it with some salmon. It was very delicious and colorful and so flavorful and fresh. My tea is absolutely delicious as well. My bff got dippy eggs and was over the moon! Absolutely loved it. It really was it. Nice space to be in. The brunch here was fine with the exception of my espresso martini not being made the way it was requested. That was quickly and easily resolved. The lamb chops not being seasoned/flavorful even with the sauce on top. I expect the meat to be able to stand on its own in terms of flavor but these did not. The pesto sauce (I love pesto) gave it a different taste that just did not wow me. It was a bit underwhelming. The standout were the breakfast potatoes. I shared them with my dining companion and she agreed. The scrambled eggs were just that. I thought I ordered them with cheese but when they didn't have cheese in or on them, I chalked it up to me not having communicated that properly. The staff were nice, welcoming, and friendly and we liked the option to sit inside and outside. We chose to sit outside on a beautiful sunny Fall day. What a great place! Romantic setting for a couple, see a couple medium sized groups enjoying themselves. Simple music not too loud. Service with a smile. Staff looks you in the eye and is easy to find when you want something. My husband and I split an avocado salad, filet with spinach and added lobster tail and tagliatelle bolognese. Everything was fabulous! Salad was crisp and refreshing. Filet was prepared medium rare to perfection and the lobster tail was sweet and buttery. I was in town visiting family, and my cousin mentioned that she'd wanted to try this place for a little while now. We called to make a reservation, and the woman we spoke with was so kind and accommodating. We asked if we could have a table outside for our party of five, and the reservation was set with no hesitation. When we arrived, parking took a while as the shared lot and surrounding street parking were full. After quite a bit of time, we were able to grab a spot as some ladies were leaving. Once inside, we were greeted warmly by the same woman who'd made our reservation and taken to our seats outside. Our waiter didn't take long to come to our table and take our drink orders. He was patient and kind while we looked over the menu and waited for the last two of our party to arrive. The weather was great and the lighting on the table was a nice touch as the sun went down. Once we placed our orders, it did take a bit of time for the food to come to us but it wasn't a big deal. The cook brought our food and seemed happy to serve us. I didn't get many pictures, but everyone who ordered pasta enjoyed their food. The Caesar salad I ordered could've used more Parmesan and more dressing, so it was just okay. The chicken on top was slightly overdone. My cousin didn't love the sauce that came with her dish; she prefers less sweet and more savory with lamb. She liked the Italian avocado salad though. I had the wonderful experience of dining at Adelinas for Father's Day and unknowingly, I asked my guest to go to brunch with me not knowing this. But who better to spend an afternoon brunch with than my favorite dining partner in the world. She is the most kind, the most giving, most attentive person in the world so I knew it was going to be a great day on this wonderful day honoring all those who are fathers and those who serve as fathers. But on to the review. I told her I wanted this to be a surprise so I had no idea where we were going. She told me it was in Chestnut Hill so I knew it was, at worst, going to be very good. We arrived at Adelinas and were seated and our server introduced herself as ShayLynn (she was present, not over bearing and very personable). We were eying the prawns but she told us they MAY be out of them. We did not get a definite "86" on the item so after we ordered our drinks we are now waiting on our wonderful appetizers of lamb lollipops and of course, the prawns. We waited and waited and....waited some more, but the wait was not an issue when you are in great company. We talked and laughed and soon our amazing drinks came. She had the Espresso Martini and I had the Sweet Pea. The presentation of the Sweet Pea had our neighbors eying our drinks with envy. The butterfly tea flower had this drink popping with a soft lavender color and the egg white was beautifully sitting atop this concoction. And it had a nice "punch" from sip one. This was a great start but I am not surprised. My friend never chooses an underwhelming place to eat. She has been on the top of her gastronome game for almost 20 years so only the best when she is out. Her martini is equally impressive. As we are enjoying our drinks, our server comes over to tell us they are out of the prawns so we went with the mussels in tomato broth which were excellent. But it was a curious move how the original dish came out with regular unadorned sourdough. But when we asked for more bread, we were treated with sourdough with fresh garlic bits and butter encrusted into the crevices-phenomenal. Who was hiding this gem in the back? The lamb lollipops were a tad bit over cooked, for both me and my guest, and personally, I thought only two lollipops, for the price, were underwhelming and a poor value. However, they were very good and the closer I got to the bone, the better they tasted. The chimichurri and balsamic vinegar accompaniment were delicious! For our mains we got the Egg White Omelet and the Steak and Eggs. I never order anything but a ribeye when dining out but I have noticed that most S&E brunch listings usually offer the strip steak. Why I do not know but it was very lean-too lean for me, but extremely flavorful. The eggs must have been hatched from the free range chickens strutting around in the kitchen this morning because they tasted like fresh fresh eggs. They were fluffy and had a velvety fluffy texture that melted in my mouth. My guest suggested some balsamic vinegar for my steak and if that wasn't a hit I do not know what is. So forward thinking and creative. Next to my drink, the steak dipped in balsamic was my second favorite.We can go on and on about the food. Her egg white omelet tasted as delicious as it looked. The drinks. The ambience. All exceptional, but the real treat is the company you break bread with. This was a Father's Day gift I didn't know I needed and she made it extra special. The hostess who was dressed in a festive red and orange mixed flowing sun dress had a personality and spirit to match her festive colors. Adelina's is so romantic! Cozy, intimate, reasonably priced and just where I imagine two strangers meeting for the first time while they chat over dinner. I had a reservation for 2 at 6:15 on a Friday. We arrived a little early and the hostess said we could choose where we wanted to sit. Since it was a chilly night, the booth seating away from the door was the best option for us. We started out with the stuffed focaccia bread. It was warm and chewy like a bagel but with a fluffier consistency. The cheese inside was very flavorful. I typically don't eat an entire plate of pasta in one sitting, but Adelina's spicy rigatoni was worth every extra calorie! Creamy sauce and not spicy at all. The pasta was cooked al-dente, just how I like it. Finally, we couldn't walk away without dessert. I was craving something super chocolatey and the Oreo cheesecake had chocolate without being too overwhelming. The dollops of whipped cream on the plate added extra sweetness and I dipped a couple spoonfuls of my cheesecake into them. The service was fantastic and the menu was full of the best comfort foods. One of your rudest coffee shops I've been to. The furthest thing from a Neighbourhood shop. They're lucky they have zero competition or they'd never make it, especially with the average at best coffee. No one says hi to you, often ignored for minutes before they even acknowledge your presence. Briefly walked in holding my Service dog ,5 pounds , barely made it through the door and was told by a cocky little employee "NO dogs aloud" without even tempting to talk to me. I went there today for brunch on a solo date. The drinks were 10/10 the food had to be worse food EVER. I ordered the seafood linguine they used Chicken broth you could see the fat separation from the sauce I sent it back it smelled like chicken thighs. I noticed Adelina's Italian restaurant today, so we called to see if reservations were available. Yes, come right over. We were greeted warmly and told we could sit at the bar for Happy Hour or sit outside if we wanted to. Alfresco dining in October, absolutely to enjoy the patio with the hibiscus still in bloom. Light tasty Staters: We chose the Mixed olives and Tuna Tartare Light Entrees: Caesar salad with Salmon and Lobster legs (unique for the day) (a lot of work to get but great once you got the lobster) Dessert: the owner's mothers handmade apple caramel cheesecake -scrumptious Parking: Metered on the street, ParkMobile spaces are available across the street from Jenks School. Stopped in to experience the Happy Hour because of the mixed reviews, I didn't want to commit to a reservation! The Happy Hour begins @ 4p! The cocktail offerings are $10 and the beers/wines have a discount of $1-3 dollars off regular price! The food offerings are light fare: bruschetta; flatbread; sliders; fries and lamb lollipops. Those prices ranged from: $7-18 dollars! The lamb was cooked with basil pesto...delightful taste! The bruschetta was fresh and enjoyed the sauce that was drizzled on top! My friend ordered off the dinner menu and had the Linguini and it was ok.. The service was adequate and I experienced what many commented on in their reviews...the noise and chatter isn't from the patrons it mainly comes from the service staff having ongoing conversations amongst themselves! They are distracted by their personal conversations and become neglectful of the guests they are servicing! I recently visited Adelina's with a large group, excited to try the food after seeing so many amazing Instagram posts showcasing their dishes. Unfortunately, our experience fell short of expectations. We ordered a variety of drinks, brunch items, pasta dishes, appetizers, and salads, but the food was extremely disappointing. Everything was below average. When we raised our concerns, the staff seemed indifferent, which only added to our frustration. The prices were quite high, making the experience feel even less worthwhile. Despite the beautiful photos that drew us in, the quality of the food did not match the hype. This was my first time at Adelina's. I will say the ambience in here is perfect. It's very nice and very clean. The customer service in here was pretty good. I will say they are slow. The first drink I got was the smoky meal I end up not liking it because it was not good to me. But for brunch, I got the French toast, which was absolutely delicious. If I could give this place a zero-- I would. I hosted my rehearsal dinner here on 11/8 and it was such a terrible experience that I had to write my own review. After coming in about a month earlier to make sure it would be a good fit. That first visit was great--food was solid, service was on point, and it gave me confidence booking it for an important night. The actual event was a completely different story. The service was bad. Our server was checked out, inattentive, and didn't seem to care at all. It was obvious the mandatory 20% gratuity played a role--once the tip was guaranteed, the effort disappeared. That's not acceptable, especially for a private event. The bigger issue was the fill-in manager, Sam, who came from the kitchen that night. He was rude, defensive, and raised his voice while speaking to my wife. When I stepped in and spoke with him directly, his tone changed immediately. Same issues, totally different attitude. That was hard to ignore and pretty disappointing to see. We followed up with the owners afterward. While they apologized, they said they couldn't lower the gratuity below 18% despite the poor service. Excellent brunch, terrible service. We stopped in here for brunch during the home and garden festival. There was over an hour wait at our favorite spot. We sat outside along the side of the building in the shade and got to people watch. Initially our server seemed great, friendly and knowledgeable. We ordered two salads and an omelet altogether. Food was slightly on the slow side but we didn't mind waiting it was a beautiful day! Everyone enjoyed their food. I had the squash salad with chicken which was really tasty and fresh. My mom really enjoyed the Italian avocado salad as well. Our server never came to check on us, never refilled our empty water glasses and after being done eating for over 30 minutes we had to ask someone else to get him so we could get our check. The staff at Adelina's were pleasant and offered great recommendations for the food. I was pleasantly surprised by the food. My spicy rigatoni actually had flavor and a kick to it. For the Brussels, I wish they tossed them in balsamic rather than just a drizzle on top. For the pasta I would've like a touch more sauce and seasoning. That being said I had dinner with friends recently at Adelina's. I want to note that our waiter was good and attentive; however the hostess (who gave her name as Nicole) was very rude and intrusive. She kept trying to get us to leave as she stated (more than once) that they needed the table. A restaurant's host/ess is the face of the restaurant and should be welcoming, polite and use good decorum when addressing diners and customers. Excuse me, but we made reservations well in advance and were looking forward to dining here. We were by no means a loud nor raucous group. The food was ok, but not outstanding especially considering the prices. I do not recommend especially since there are better Italian restaurants in the Chestnut Hill and Flourtown areas. read more

Recently went to Adelina's for bunch. I ordered the buttermilk pancakes with a side of breakfast potatoes. The potatoes never arrived and the pancakes were so starchy I couldn't finish it. I also ordered the lamp lollipops. They were cooked well but plain tasting. The tiramisu was great. Service was good. There was a drink that my aunt didn't like and they took it off the bill so that was nice. The host was friendly and welcoming as well. Ambiance is great. The music was chill. We went to Adelinas for a Saturday brunch. The first thing you'll notice is that the restaurant is spacious and very nicely decorated. We were promptly seated since it was not very crowded. The waiter was able to quickly get our order in. The burrata (not pictured here) was absolutely delicious and was my favorite dish. The affogato tasted rich and creamy and had the perfect amount of sweetness. The lox tasted fresh and paired well with the bread it was served on top of. Finally, the sausage tasted good but was a bit dry and didn't taste like anything out of the ordinary. Throughout our dining experience we had quick and friendly service. We saw the current reviews and felt hesitant to go here, but overall, I would say this is an above-average restaurant that is worth going to. read more

The food is 4 stars. The price for what you receive is what it is (I get to that part later in this review). The ambiance is alluring. The staff is knowledgeable and attentive. The dining room was nice and cool, I appreciated it on a hot summer day. My drink of choice was Adelinas old fashion. Similar to a regular old fashion and very good. I enjoyed the eggplant fritter for an appetizer and it was quite filling. I could have made a meal out of that alone. So I feel I got my money's worth and belly full there. The Broccoli Rabe Pesto dip for the eggplant was welcoming to the palate! And I'm not a fan of to much pesto so I was happy with the balance of flavors. It was a nice switch up from the typical marinara sauce most restaurants give you. The meatballs over polenta cake was very good. I enjoyed the texture of the polenta cake. It had a slight crispiness to the outside and nice and creamy inside. Didn't taste gritty at all. The meatballs taste homemade so that was good. Octopus was cooked just right and was arranged beautifully. The seared scallop entree was delicious. Scallops were tender and perfectly seared. Just wish there were a few more on the plate. This dish came with crispy potatoes and pickled watermelon radish. For some reason I missed that part on the menu and thought I was eating thin sliced carrots until I coughed from the pickled radish! So if you're not a fan of things pickled be mindful of the radish. The Acqua Pazza is a nice size bowl and portion of poached fish, PEI mussles and prawns in a sun dried tomato broth. I thought it was delicious and well worth the money. The fish was perfectly poached but could have had a little more of it's own flavor instead of relying on the tomato broth. A friend thought the tomato broth was a tad bit to salty, however I didn't find it to be salty, so it's subjective to the consumer. I've seen complaints from other customers about the prices, but the prices here are to be expected as the cost of food has skyrocketed everywhere. So although we wish the cost of dining (especially when it comes to seafood and steak) were lower it's not realistic. So expect to pay or make other meal arrangements. I enjoyed my dining experience, however this isn't a restaurant that I would frequent. Cons You eat until your full but that's it, so if you enjoy having enough leftover for a doggy bag you might not get that here. We had such a lovely birthday dinner experience at Adelinas on Tuesday evening earlier this week. After making a reservation via email on Monday (Adelinas is closed on Mondays), we received confirmation of the reservation almost immediately. We were permitted to pick our table upon arrival, and the hostess, who had such a lovely and friendly personality, wished my partner a happy birthday. Michelle continued the excellent service as our wait staff professional, and the food we ordered was delicious. We started with cocktails and rosé, moved on to the stuffed focaccia and calamari as appetizers, and shared mushrooms and brussel sprouts as sides. They accompanied my chicken parm. Everything was so good, but I especially loved the stuffed focaccia, mushrooms, and my partner's leftover spaghetti carbonara (not pictured). The space is intimate without feeling overly stuffy, and there is outdoor seating available. Had the weather been a tad cooler, we would have chosen to sit outside as the view is lovely, sitting adjacent to a tree lined, cobblestone street. Unfortunately, we didn't have any room for dessert, but I really enjoyed the leftovers the following day. Very happy to have found a favorite in the new neighborhood for special occasions. read more
