All I can say is WOW! From the soft bread you get at the beginning of the meal to the branzino and gnocchi down to the tiramisu, everything was delicious. The branzino had a nice crispy crust without ruining the integrity of the branzino and the sauce that came with it was delicious. We told the waiter we were sharing the branzino and they were kind enough to split it up for us into two separate plates. The gnocchi was also really good and the portion size was decent with enough to bring home leftovers. The tiramisu is probably the best I've had in Philadelphia. I also tried their crème brûlée (not pictured) and it was good as well. We were seated outside, which I originally didn't want to do, but we weren't given the option. A great place in the middle of the neighborhood. Staff were nice and moved efficiently, great outdoor seating view, it wasn't too hot. Everything is fresh! We decided to split the branzino as an appetizer and the aroma was great, fresh smelling, flavors were coming through. The branzino had an amazing crusted finish and without being dry, and the side of vegetables and potatoes were cooked great as well. We also had bread with this little red sauce that was great, the bread didn't taste buttered but it was soft with a good flavor. For the main course I had the tagliatelle bolognese. It was a rich smooth, and creamy flavor because of how fresh the ingredients were. It wasn't a heavy meal but I didn't eat it all to leave room for dessert. This may have been my personal favorite part of the meal. For dessert I got both the crème brûlée and the lemon sorbetti. The lemon sorbetti was my absolute favorite thing, it was so good and refreshing as a palette reset after eating everything. Can't really add more beyond what a lot of the other reviews have said: fresh high quality ingredients which you can really taste in the bruschetta and salad, and overall just really yummy food! True to the rating the food and service was great. Managed to get at a table for 4 on Friday night at 7. Dinner kicked off w 4 pieces of the complimentary bruschetta. The tomatoes were super fresh and we'll seasoned. Given how good that tasted we had good feelings about the rest of the meal. Then it was followed by a bread basket with a small plate of marinara dipping sauce. That sauce went so well with the bread. While a bit tart we just couldn't stop eating it. It also had a little kick which made us kept coming back for more. For our maint course. We ordered the spaghetti scoglio, eggplant rollatini and the tagliatelle bolognese. The seafood pasta was incredible, the spaghetti was al dente and the seafood was super fresh. My daughter devoured it all. The home made tagliatelle was flavorful. Despite it being a bolognese sauce it wasn't super heavy. I do have to agree w another reviewer the meat in the sauce was a bit dry. The eggplant rollstini was also very delectable. Melted cheese was a fan favorite. Overall great experience. One ding for the 5th star was because the tagliatelle and the rollatini came out a bit Luke warm. I don't get up to East Falls very often, so I made a point of trying this place out last time I was there. Such a cozy community spot, nestled in a residential neighborhood among the rowhomes. (Keep that in mind when looking for parking). The details: free bread, BYOB, and it's small enough that I probably wouldn't try to pop in without a reservation. Prices--especially for Italian in the city--are very reasonable. Just about everything is in the $25 range, give or take. The food was amazing. The salads arrived in good time, but then... the Great Wait began. After a while, our server returned--not with food, but with a question: "What did you all order again?" Uh-oh. When it finally did, it was fashionably late--well after the main courses. And those lamb chops? Let's just say they were still finding their way toward "done." I devoured the food so quickly, I forgot to take pictures. My bad, y'all. We came early (around 5:30p) and there was only one other couple there, but that changed quickly. We were seated immediately. Our waiter asked if we had a reservation, but I didn't see how to make one online...I guess you can call? Either way, it was no problem given the time we came. The restaurant is quaint and cozy, which I loved. The service was great and I never felt like we needed anything. The food! So, they give you a bruschetta to start, which was surprising and so tasty. You then get bread for the table with marinara (spaghetti) sauce, which was so delectable and surprising. We got the calamari, which was cooked perfectly with a great texture (not too chewy) and was flavorful. I got the amatriciana, which is surprisingly easy to mess up despite it being so simple. It is one of my favorite pastas and it did not disappoint. They give you fresh Parmesan as well, which was an added bonus. The sauce was well flavored, the pasta was perfectly alright dente, and the proportions and ratio of sauce to noodle was just right. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is delightful. It's a cozy row home and feels like you are walking into an Italian dinner party! An East Falls institution. Basically situated in a row home this restaurant leaves little elbow room between the person next to you. This isn't a bad thing you should just go in expecting this. Reservation times are staggered and there may be only one or two veteran servers to take your order along with a couple of cooks in the back but this place hits the nail on the head for classic Italian dining. The restaurant is small and intimate, so if going on the weekend, I would definitely recommend a reservation. They have about 3-4 tables outside and indoor seating holds maybe 40 people. We chose to take one of the outdoor tables. The meal started with some bread, olive oil and a tomato-y side sauce which was delicious. They also gave us two pieces of bread with bruschetta that tasted so fresh. For an appetizer we chose the tomato mozzarella (caprese) and once again, the tomatoes were so fresh and succulent. Tonight, we had grilled calamari and burrata appetizers followed by both the beet salad and the arugula salad. All were amazing. It's BYOB, which I love and the owner comes to your table to tell you the specials and to open your wine. They serve bruschetta and bread on the house, It's noisy because it is so busy but who cares? I ordered the pasta soglio. My son ordered chicken piccata. My other kids got bolognese and my DH got the spaghetti with clams. Everything was delicious. Our table was well attended despite the fact that they were very busy and we had cappuccino all around to go with a few desserts. Panna Cotta, bomba, again all was terrific.
