Just to let the public know that even though you may receive a response from ADT asking you to contact them at AlwaysThere@adt.com to assist you with your issue---in my opinion that is just a ploy to make others think that they will get right on it. After I sent all the documents they requested to AlwaysThere@adt.com it took them less than 15 minutes to respond and say there was nothing they could do about the sensors that I was promised would be replaced. I wish I can give it a 0 out of 10. Unfortunately, the one star will do. I've been with ADT for almost a year and a 1/2. Last year I had absolutely no issues with automatic payments. Since June of 2023, I've been having issues. I have spoke to them every single month about taking money out of my bank, and they said that they fixed the automatic payments, but they didn't. Unfortunately, I would like to cancel with them. But they blindsided me when I signed up with them. They said there was no contract, and they lied, and now there is. The customer service is the worst that I have ever experienced. They don't listen to what you say. They transfer the call, so they don't have to deal with you anymore. And try speaking to a supervisor is like finding a hay in a needle stack. I do not recommend this company to anybody. I have never had a company that does not give an email or text message about payment being declined. This company gaslights you Saying that they don't send out emails or text messages when your payment has declined. So you need to figure it out on your own. Please save your money and go to ring instead. They are a lot cheaper. And you don't have to deal with this run around. read more

ADT PULSE APP IS DOWN AGAIN! that means my cameras are not working and if my home got burglarized right now I would not have any video. It's been down since last night! Also my outside cameras go off-line continually ... one camera out of six cameras! So, it's not my Internet going down because it's always a different camera and it's usually only 1 camera! It's been a nightmare to cancel the service with ADT. I called to cancel the service in late October 2021. but still receiving bills; so I called on Jan 3 to cancel again, they said they will process the cancellation and back dated so I don't have to pay for the outstanding. BUT, I just receiving another bill with showed the charge of Jan and Feb. Therefore I have to call again, for last two hours, I have been transferred back and forward, cut off, until just now when I am typing, I am still on hold which is ridiculous. If you haven't start the service with them, pleas be careful because you are singing your life away. Their sales team may contact you more than 10 times to ask why you cancel, do you need transfer but the accountant team will say they don't have record for your cancellation request. read more

We were new customers of ADT in Henderson, NV from May 2021 until we had to make an unplanned move to another state. We can truthfully state that ADT was the worst situation that we could have arranged for alarm service at our house. The ADT salesman was intend on selling us extra features that were unnecessary. We found ADT was overbooked and monitoring was deficient. When we HAD to move, ADT charged an enormous $$ penalty that they said was part of the contract. WE were unaware of this penalty because the salesman was so intent on us buying extra unnecessary features. We did pay the penalty, but will NEVER use or recommend ADT again. Let the buyer beware! I have called over 8 times to get a dome replacement on my camera, you sent a tech out 2 times, I was told to clean domes, cleaned them 6 times, discovered a couple of bad domes. You then sent a sales person to sell me new cameras when they are only 2 years old and spent over 5k for my system, the issue is not with the cameras, but a couple of domes. Nobody is responding to my calls or come by to replace the dome. This has been going on since 3/24/22 - Can someone please take care of my issue, Service manager is not responding. This post is about fraud from ADT Security (the alarm company that I used for 4 years in Las Vegas) and the representatives in their Las Vegas office. I find it hard to believe that businesses can survive with such fraudulent business practices. I sold my house in Las Vegas in November. I got a voicemail from Joey Peterson from the ADT Corporate Offices on Novemer 2nd to ask if he could help with transferring the service. I explained that I no longer live in the US and sold the house, but that I could introduce him to the realtor to switch the service to the new owner. Joey then assured me that he would get everything taken care of and transferred out of my name. Now, in January, I received late notices that payments were not received. So I call ADT, from Russia, to find out what is going on. It seems the new owner chose not to sign up with ADT, and as a result, they left my account active. So I am on the phone with Britney from the ADT cancellations department... And, poor Britney... It's not her fault at all, but she has to explain to me that because Joey didn't do his job, she can only cancel the account as of today, and I owe them an additional $211.92 because the account was not cancelled in November. I played the voicemail from Joey Peterson from the ADT Corporate Offices in Las Vegas, but they say they cannot do anything to remove my outstanding debt. They can also see that the monitoring has not been active since November, but the do insist on charging me for the past three months just because Joey Peterson from the ADT Corporate Offices in Las Vegas did not follow though on his promise. Trying to order batteries for a 2 year old system that can't maintain a charge and you can't find them at specialty battery stores as they claim they are no longer made. So we Just spent 38 minutes on hold with ADT having been transferred by 2 other agents. When the third agent answered, before we could even say hello, they hung up. My wife has previously tried their online chat and it was equally as ineffective. ADT, you're overall 1.5 star rating is well deserved. read more

I been with ADT since 2011. I could have gone with somebody else 2 years ago.. But no I stood by a d t all this time. I made an appointment because my carbon dioxide detector Expired. My sentencing town for week.. So he made an appointment on saturday. The technician was supposed to call so he couldn't install it. No call no show. My son called and they said there systems was down.. I called 30 minutes later.. Reschedules for sunday. Stay by the phone on the hours. They said they were supposed to call 3 PM to 3:30 PM.. It's four p m I called them. She said you contact the wrong area and let me send you to the right area.. The voicemail said we're close sorry. This is an acceptable. If you don't pay your bill they set you off. My sundays tonight. And then I have to do it myself. Hoping that I can. I also sometimes have problems with my camera.. And you know what's so funny? They charged me seventy five dollars for carbon dioxide detector. When I could have got one at home. Depot or Lowe's for $30.. And yet they give me bad service. I'm very disappointed with ADT. Watch your Sales Representative, and vet their suggestions well. A Sales Representative by the name of Julio came to the household doing a walkthrough for things "absolutely needed". He chucked in many unnecessary items, stating it's for our safety. After trusting him that he had our best interests in heart, we believed it. After a 2 day installation (that they stated would only be one), holes in our walls, and exposed wires for cameras, we were obviously unhappy with the experience. When we contacted our Sales Representative regarding the removal of redundant items and a refund, he stated that the job was already done, you paid for it already, you own it. I grew up with ADT since I was a kid, and seeing this as I grow up is very disappointing. My family will be using a different security system. And you should too. read more

Let's just say, if I could pick 0 starts, that's the option I would pick. Please NEVER get an alarm system through them. I had them for 6 years, no problems until my camera's stopped working. I called and waited for an hour to speak to someone and they said I just needed a new battery. They sent me a new one, but it was the incorrect one. So I had to call back again. Upon calling, they said they highly suggest I upgrade my camera's because the ones that I had would no longer be supported at the beginning of the new year. This was in October of 2021. So I said I would upgrade since I have two kids under two and really wanted security. My husband had lost his job due to covid and had just started working at the time. However, due to the pandemic, we were in debt so we made the decision to sell our home so we could be in a financially better situation. I had the new camera's for TWO weeks. Two. I called and asked to move my service which they absolutely refused to do. Said I was stuck and there was nothing I could do. My husband and I decided to get another system for our new rental (since we needed the security.) Then, all of a sudden, ADT calls and says, "We noticed your house is for sale, would you like to move services?" Which they said I couldn't do previously. They essentially said I would have to pay for the old cameras, pay for new cameras, and that's how I'd "Move" my service. I called AT LEAST 5-7 times to speak to a manager and sort this out. Always was told they "really" wanted to help me, but not ONE person ever called me back. And if I wanted to break my contract with them, they need $5,000 from me. Or I could keep using them and pay for two camera systems. One I literally only had for two weeks. I told them I didn't want to pay for another system because my time at the rental would be short as my husband and I were paying off all debts and planning to purchase a new home and I didn't want to pay for a 3rd camera system once that happened. Asked them to escalate my situation and have a manager call me back. It's been 6 months, at least 5 phone calls explaining this issue and have yet to have anyone call me. I have been paying $130 a month since November (so 7 months) for a home security system that I don't even live at because it's been easier than trying to get anyone at that company to help me. I even emailed corporate and they offered me to pay $3k instead of $5k. After I have already paid them $910 for a house I don't live at and no one has helped me. Mind you, the camera system was $1,200 so they are pretty much paid for their equipment. They just want more money out of me. I explained my frustration to Crystal Brown (the person who replied to my email to corporate) and how that answer was still unacceptable. I have two kids under two, a full time job, and a husband that is working 80 hour weeks, I don't have the time or energy to call them DAILY to see if someone will finally help or contact me back. Nor do I have $5,000 to just drop for something I had for two weeks. I also don't want to move services and keep them for a "discounted" rate only for them to treat their customer's so horrible. She replied word for word, "Thank you for the additional feedback. We are still at the same outcome of resolutions." So pretty much, they don't care at all and they just want more money. PLEASE DO NOT USE THEM. Choose literally anyone else because they will not help you, will not call you back, tell you to upgrade and then force you to pay thousands of dollars. read more

i have been with adt for well over 10 years, monthly service fee goes up a little bit here and there but a lot more this year than usual, which stinks (because i am paying a lot more for upgraded that i truly regret now). i wanted to give them zero stars but system wouldnt allow me to..... just wanted people to beware of this company, it's a big company and the customer service is horrible (especially the local people that you have to actually deal with). i can relate to the a lot of the recent post (as well as the other information that i have seen online) because i have been having some of the same issues. the reps on the phone are generally pleasant (cause call is being recorded, i am guessing......) the local people that you have to interact with, are not some much rude but they are some what calculated, trying to figure out how they can charge you for something extra that you didnt ask for. foolish me for not reading reviews or doing internet research before getting adt (expensive lesson learned, but definitely learned). i feel like i was completely taken advantage of, very under valued as a customer of over 10 years. i have gotten poor service, poor quality equipment and feel like i was over charged for all of it, such an expensive lesson to learn considering i am on a tight budget. i feel like i am now stuck paying for something that is poor quality and the more i try to get my issue resolved the worse it gets. i have asked several reps for corporate or please elevate my issue to someone that can resolve it, still hasn't happened. i believe in karma so, i may not benefit from it directly but karma does come back around. on another note which, i didnt complain about to adt reps. my carpet is off white, i usually have to put something down on the floor but they still manage to walk on my carpet, none of them ever showed up with booties and with the rain and wind lately you can only imagine how my carpet looks after they leave..... beware when calling the issue is never adt or product, it's something else on your end, which you didnt have issue with until you started using their products and techs!!!!!!! i can go on because i have a ton of issues with adt but whats the point, every time you think your call/issue has be elevated you find out that was not the case....... truly disappointed, at this point and researching alternatives to adt. read more

When I moved I was told to leave my equipment at the house I was leaving and I would receive new equipment at the new house. When the technician came out to install the equipment I about fell over when he told me how much the new equipment actually was going to cost me. Since I still had 2 months on my contract I went ahead with it but felt that I had been cheated. Later when checking to see how much longer I had on the contract, because the system never worked properly, I found out that my contract started over when I moved. If I could give no stars I would. ADT has been the worst security system I have ever had. We had 6 technicians come out fixing problems "they hadn't seen before" within 5 months of having ADT. They wouldn't let us cancel with their fee cancellation in the first 6 months. One time our alarm went off & we couldn't get it to turn off so it was going off for over 24 hours and no one would come out because it was a Sunday. They have the absolute worst service I have ever experienced. We canceled our contract out early. DO NOT USE at this security system!!!!! Anyone else is better. I complained a couple weeks ago about what I was charged (double-charged) when cancelling my contract. So they charged me for the equipment (which I purchased) and they charged me for 6 more months of my contract that I cancelled. Imagine my surprise when my ADT portal would no longer work! The only thing I used it for was to monitor an outside camera (which ADT themselves said they don't monitor) due to a shooting next door a couple of years ago. Avoid ADT at all cost! Been using ADT for almost 3 years now and they make it so DIFFICULT to cancel the services. They will transfer you to multiple people and will desperately try to keep you under their services by giving you $10-$20 discount. It's not worth it. I don't know how to do a half star. In regards to ADT Blue, I have paid for 19 months and have had no service. I have called for assistance and have been given options outside of ADT because they refuse to assist me in installing my equipment. So it sits in a box and, on a single teacher's salary, I pay 52 dollars a month for nothing. I would rather throw money to the hungry... NOT ADT. Never again. Raymond Mincer just installed my alarm system. Raymond was so incredibly helpful and kind. He even helped me with my internet and took his time making sure I understood everything about my new system. ADT has proven to me that they only hire the best! Mr. Mincer has a ton of experience and did not mind taking extra time to explain to me every detail of the installation process. I am a huge ADT fan, due to this amazing customer service experience! Worst mistake we've made with home security. Phone support is one person passing you off to the next. Unless you're buying, any service or support is not there. We've been trying to cancel for two months so far. They were extremely difficult to deal with when we called to cancel after we sold our unit, they continued to send us our monthly bill but no closing bill. We just got off the phone today with them after an extremely long 45 minutes finally to end up with a "manager" who was trying his hardest to sell us another service. Do not get roped into the 3 year endless contract that gets extended every time they supposedly update their system. Also we had the occasional spike in our bills that was "accidentally" added but remedied after the usual call, waiting, refusing additional service etc. We got the Simply Safe Security System which is beyond awesome so far. read more

Their system was expensive to install and purchase and it worked well, but that's where the complements end. I moved and terminated service in July 2018 and received my final bill shortly after. The bill included charges and patrol services for the next quarter. I called and the rep agreed to adjust the charges, she established my correct balance which I paid. Next month I received another bill, again with charges that were adjusted out the previous month. After an extended call in which I spoke to supervisors, I was told to ignore the bill as it has been paid in full. Thirty days later, I received another bill, with an additional balance that was supposed to have been adjusted out the previous month. I refuse to call them again and will ignore the bill, refer them to the BBB and hope that they don't call me, as I will sue them for harassment. read more

We have been a customer with camera and alarm services..no problems with alarm portion. CAMERAS horrible product, quality and customer support. Don't water the initial money buying their cameras. The monthly service fees continue to climb and the.level of service falls. When the system goes down you have to fight with them to send a technician. read more

We just wanted to activate the existing ADT security system. Then...well just read the other reviews. Installed new system, new sensors because the existing system was no longer "usable" (old system worked fine i.e. announced which door was opened etc). They do not explain anything that your buying or signing up for. We changed our mind so we called the next day, as they told us we had 3 days to cancel, waited for call back but wasn't until days later. Then they said it was past the 3 day period. After a few weeks of speaking to different people they finally agreed to remove the new system, but they refused to reinstall the old ADT system that they removed. Usually when something is canceled like that the customer should be made whole meaning reinstall anything they removed. That didn't happen but that's ok Cox Communications is so much better,cheaper, and offers you much more accessories without charging an arm and a leg. Oh yeah on a side note they still use those scare tactics to try and sell their system...they go as far as to tell you if you don't have a security system installed someone can just come in and shoot you and your family. To that I responded, if someone was going to do that a security system would not stop them. They also try to talk trash about other companies saying such and such company was sued for security breaches and people hacking into their systems. In which while he was rambling on I did a simple google search on my phone and showed him 10+ links to news articles that ADT was sued for the exact same thing, as well for other things such as their sales tactics. His comeback was "are those sites reliable?" Even though he did not show me one website or article backing up his claim. Don't use ADT!!! Reply to Andrew of ADT: Hey Andrew, Sorry it took weeks just to talk to someone that could resolve my issue without attitude, so it's a little too late. I'm just glad I was able to get it resolved and will not recommend ADT to anyone I know. If contractors may be the issue with your company, I strongly suggest you rid ADT of all of them because they are only hurting your company. Two ADT service reps stopped by late in the evening (7:45pm) and rang our doorbell. We answered our video doorbell and politely declined service because we have our own security system. They proceeded to ring our doorbell AGAIN after we had already declined. Beyond rude. Because of the second ringing of the doorbell, they woke up our sleeping newborn who sleeps through a lot. Normally I am ok with salesman stopping by, but this late in the evening is unacceptable AND the second ringing of the doorbell AFTER WE DECLINED was uncalled for. I will never use ADT because of this. Very upset and disappointed in the lack of respect from the salesmen after we politely declined. read more

I have had ADT for almost 3 years they called me a few days ago telling me I need to Renew my contract for 3 to 5 years and if not they are going to charge me more So I got my billt he other day they had increased it from ?$ 59.‐ to $63. and some change I asked them why they said they had this new policy now and they can do this. Actually they suck they said my contract is up in November I can't wait to get rid of them I can't believe they can charge whatever they want And to change the price they had quoted me even though I was in a contract for a certain amount.
