At the time, I was just interested in a quote and I told them that I would contact them again to finalize a deal if I couldn't find anyone to beat this quote. I ended up going out of town and forgot about my side project. Cut back a month later, I contact Pull-A-Part last week to sell my vehicle to them. The Operator then low-balled me with a different number than what they first offered and offered me $380. I was upset with this new number since I was expecting them to match their initial offer. I begrudgingly brought up this point and the Operator came back with a new offer of $410 for pickup on Saturday 7/12/2024. Since I was tired of dealing with this entire project, I agreed and we set an appointment to pick up my vehicle at 9am. I received a confirmation email and made preparations to have the vehicle picked up on Saturday at our agreed time. Come Saturday, I received ZERO correspondence from the hauler and at 0945am I contacted Pull-A-Part to ask if they were enroute. The Operator stated that they did not know when the hauler would arrive and that I would be contacted. Since I received no correspondence an HOUR after they were supposed to, I asked to reschedule for Monday. The Operator advised that the hauler would reschedule to Monday and did not provide a new time. The Operator stated that they "could not provide a time for Monday." I found this statement to be incredibly unprofessional since they were happy to provide a time when they first tried to low-ball me. I agreed to an ambiguous Monday reschedule. Today is Monday and you can guess that no one has contacted me and no one has come to get the vehicle. At this point, I'm sure that this business is some kind of scam.

No contact back from AutoZone's regional offices in over 5 weeks and after half a dozen phone calls. The store manager would do nothing for me but start another case with AutoZone corporate. I am waiting for a corporate vice president to contact me regarding this issue. I have also filed a case with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration abut the shoddy part.

This particular store is horrible. Sloppy, dirty and disorganized staff. That photo they posted here on this site must be a stock photo from Corporate or one dropped in here from another store. I have been to this store several times, but this is / was my last time. First of all, I never really paid much attention to it, but the personnel is never the same on each appointment. I average 2 appointments per year for each of our vehicles and that's for all the usual stuff like oil changes, wheel alignments, tire rotations, etc. However, I just realized the employees turnover at least every 6 months. That should tell you a lot and it should have been something I paid attention to sooner. Plus, the employees never seem to smile. They are not friendly, do not make eye contact and they do not thank you for your business. Combine that with the overall changes: 1) Rewards program is terrible as your points expire in a few months rendering them useless. 2) Costs have all increased. I use full synthetic oil so their price is $110.00 for an oil change, whereas I can go to the manufacturer's authorized dealership where my cost is only $99.00 for the same. These are standard (not sale) prices at both. 3) Most people do not go to the dealer due to cost. But now with Pep Boys, you go to the dealer to save money over Pep Boys. Plus Pep Boys uses aftermarket supplies and parts whereas you will get OEM supplies and parts at the dealership . . . and for less money! 4) Combined with complimentary coffee, sodas, snacks, entertainment (television and wifi), shuttle service to work / home and back, etc. none of which this Pep Boys offers . . . . . . so if customer service is lower and prices are higher, why go to Pep Boys?

I called and the gentleman said yes we have one we'll take a look to see if we can install for you upon coming in. I promptly went to this location because it was going to save me about $200 verses the dealership. Immediately, he treated me as if he didn't want to help. Muffling things like "oh my reader is saying I shouldn't touch your car" "the dealer is a criminal they want to steal your money, I've worked there before" "turn your car on and off, nothing is wrong with this battery" "there's too many warning codes" .... I had paperwork saying I needed a battery and it threatened my integrity. I grew up around the car business and this is NOT how you treat a customer that ultimately pays your bills. I am a young professional that takes exceptional care of my paid off well maintained vehicle. I felt discouraged, frustrated and unseen. He then told me "if I put the battery in, and you have to get it towed to the dealer don't blame me". Sir, what happened to you just saying you COULDN'T replace my battery? I feel almost profiled. As a woman, by herself I hope that he doesn't treat others this way as the face of Advance Auto Parts. I went to AutoZone and they felt SO embarrassed that I was treated this way at ANOTHER company, their competitor nonetheless that they gave me an extra 20% off and instantly put the battery in, took away the old one and even SHOOK MY HAND. I hope this is a learning lesson for associates at Advance Auto, I'll never come back.
