It's puzzling. First, she looked annoyed that she had to test my battery. Then she told me to go wait and "pop my hood while I'm waiting" while she helps another lady in line behind me. My hood was already open, ready for my battery to be tested. Then she tests my battery and says "it's bad." Literally TWO WORDS. Nothing else. And as I asked her for advice she hands me the slip of paper with the percentage my battery tested at and LITERALLY WALKED AWAY FROM ME BACK INTO THE STORE. Honestly, I'm baffled. Since buying the Jeep, I've had to replace the left and right cylinder head gasket, thermostat, water pump, water pump gasket, oil cooler assembly, spark plugs, and battery clamps. The vehicle developed persistent engine stalling issues, misfires, coolant loss, white exhaust smoke, and transmission-related problems. I was later informed of transmission fault code P0732, indicating potential transmission failure, and have also had to investigate replacing the crankshaft position sensor in an attempt to keep the vehicle running properly. I understand that used vehicles can require maintenance, but the extent and severity of these repairs after only one year have been extremely disappointing. I trusted Blackstar Offroad to sell a reliable vehicle, and instead I've spent a significant amount of time, stress, and money (thousands) dealing with major mechanical failures. I'm not writing this review out of spite. I'm sharing my experience in hopes that future customers can make a more informed decision than I did. Please do your homework, have any vehicle independently inspected before purchasing, and make sure you're prepared for the possibility of unexpected repair costs. Based on my experience, I would not purchase another vehicle from Blackstar Offroad. I was truly excited and worked hard to make the purchase but the financial stress and emotional burden of not having my vehicle while it was going through multiple shops to confirm and execute the repairs was definitely not worth it - I definitely learned my lesson not bringing a mechanic with me to inspect the vehicle before the purchase. got a new-to-me ride earlier this year and have been (slowly mainly cuz of tariffs n all that bs)…read moregathering parts for this build. anyway, i made the switch from jdm to euro and have no exp-points. lotta things im still learning and questionable mods to study up on. got one thing cleared up really quick after acquiring a set of rims...the TPMS! at shoptpms.com i quickly learned my older euro used in-wheel sensors but google and the local dealerships werent of any help narrowing down the exact set needed for my ride. since they're relatively close to where i work, i stopped by with one of my rims and had garret fit check the tpms suited for my aftermarket rims. he then cloned my settings (just in case) and i was all set. the cost was sooo unbelievably low (was expecting to pay more than double) i got a second set for my factory rims (the cars over 7yrs old n know they should be replaced every 5-6yrs). ended up with a black set (to match the aftermarket) and silver (for the oem). buy with confidence! but if you're unsure, give them a call or go in person (if able). staff is knowledgeable and friendly.
