We used them several times since 2013 for AC and Heating issues. They used to be good but a few years ago they would come and never give the quotes. So frustrating. Now they came, someone spent 5 minutes in our house, then charged me $220 to tell me the problem but did zero work because he said he does not have the tools. Then he told me he was going to charge me the same $220 again to come and would not give me any credit for the $220 already spent. I called another company down and they began by believing the diagnosis given by Pelle (trusting their word). They added refrigerant to the A/C and the problem didn't go away. They then started from the basics and found the issues was completely different. Never using this them again! I called the company to complain and the response was our guys is amazing, you are wrong and we stand by our work. I always prefer companies that can own their mistakes. Not this company. read more

They "say" that they do it for free but they charged me $185 for no work but just an estimate. Totally unprofessional!! Now they are kind of forcing that if you want to get the money back $185 , you need to get the system installed from them pay 15K so that they can deduct $185.!! On August 16, 2022, President Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act. One of the provisions of that Act authorized the U.S. Department of Energy to pay a rebate of up to $8000 to customers wishing to replace gas furnaces with heat pumps. This was part of the act called HEERA, the High-Efficiency Electric Home Rebate Act. Implementation required 1. The DOE to establish procedures, 2. Each state to send in their plans to follow those procedures, 3. Approval of those plans by the DOE and 4. Each state implementing the rebates. I followed the progress through these steps meticulously and when I knew that California had filed and gotten approval earlier this year, I started getting bids to have a heat pump installed. I gathered bids from seven different companies who submitted bids on Trane, Carrier, Bryant, and Mitsubishi heat pumps. The recommended sizes ranged from 3 to 4 ton and prices varied from $13,000 to $24,550. Through feedback and advice, I settled on a Mitsubishi 4-ton heat pump and air handler for my 2063 square foot house for which I received 4 different proposals. It was quieter than any of the others (51dB) and had a good reputation. The installed prices for that unit varied from approximately $16,500 to $24,450 with three of the 4 proposals being over $20,000. I selected Pelle based on price, good Yelp reviews, and interactions I had with Steven Pelle. Most company representatives were not familiar with HEERA and some even denied that it existed, trying to argue that I should buy then, and not wait. I scratched them from my list. Steve listened and agreed to investigate it. His consultant company, who handles all their rebates, did investigate it, became informed about it and kept track of its progress. On November 11, Veterans Day, I received notice from another company that the rebates would be available the next day. I contacted Pelle on Tuesday, November 12, and they immediately went to work learning about the process and filling out the required paperwork. They gave me the appropriate papers to sign and submit, and I had approval of that rebate plus 2 other rebates for a total of $13,500 by Thursday afternoon November 14. They scheduled the installation for Monday, November18. The installation went very smoothly with Eric the lead installer. I could not have asked for a better experience. They completed the installation on the same day. I had one minor problem with the installation; the new cold air return vent whistled. They came and fixed that on Wednesday. Everyone was easy to reach by phone, pleasant to work with, very efficient, experienced and creative in handling a new situation and the installation. I had a great experience with Pelle and could not recommend them highly enough. Call and ask about HEERA. You can save a lot of money and work with a company that has been through it. read more

They have also done a great job of maintaining the system over the last 12 years. Most recently Charles from Pelle has serviced our system and has done an outstanding job of diagnosing any issues. Recently, I discovered the my thermostat was rebooting on heat call due to high limit switch hitting high temp. I called Steve and he sent Gary over to troubleshoot. It was discovered that I had blocked off vents in the bathrooms because I wanted airflow to go to the main vents. Unfortunately, this also caused the system to overheat. Gary set the system to increase the blower speed, went from comfort to efficiency. With the increased airflow, I can now leave all the vents open and not worry about decreased airflow. Both Steve and Gary also let me know that I can call them any time if I have issues and they will stop by to resolve it. I appreciate Steve and Gary standing behind their installation and equipment and providing excellent customer service years after the initial install date. The system is still one of the quietest HVAC system I've ever seen even with the increase airflow. I had an issue with the system cooling the house in the summer when it's hot outside because of where it's installed in the attic. Also, the attic kept in heat so at night, it's like an overhead heater. Since installing air turbines on the roof, my attic is now much cooler. In the summer it significantly decreased the cost of cooling the house. Before venting the attic, the system was running constantly trying to cool the house at night. After venting the attic, the system literally runs 50% less and cools significantly better. read more

I contracted Pelle to do brand system in an extensive remodel. They installed dual zone 100kbtu furnace and 4T Carrier a/c. It NEVER was able to cool the house even on the high 80deg days. After a couple service the tech said I should have a 5ton system? They designed it! Anyway, couldn't take it anymore, system ran all day with no benefits. I hired ABS Heating and cooling take everything out, fix /improve the vent locations which were basically wrong per 3 installers reviews, install a dual system that works great and conditions excellently and runs more efficiently than the Pelle solution. I had to spend a lot of money to redo my system but now done the way it should have been done the first time. From very disappointed with the Pelle system, to happy with the new ABS Heating and air conditioning system. Especially be wary if they spec a system or update a quote to meet a competitors price. read more

My house is hot again, every year I need a few weeks of good performance and the Pelle designed system fails. They installed all new ducting and all new heat/air components. Doesn't work, after them confirming last year, that their own system is undersized, and confirmed it can't handle the square footage, only 2800, now they want another $1100 to band aid it and add a 'booster' fan system to push more air through the undersized duct and burn more electricity. Pelle installed our ductless heating and air. We loved it until we needed to use the air conditioner. It worked great for one day. Then it stopped working. It was a crazy heat wave and it took them 2 weeks to come out (they have one repair guy). By the time they came out it was cool out and the unit worked again. It just seems to die in the heat. We are now in another heat wave. The unit worked for one day and died again. They said that they cannot come out for another 4 days. It is currently in the high 90s and we have a $16,000 non-working unit. By the time they come out the heat wave will be over and the unit will be working again. It just completely shuts down in the heat (which is when we need it). I cannot warn you strongly enough about this company!! The people are nice enough, but with ONE repair guy they cannot support their customers! ADDITION: As soon as I posted the review (In June) the owner asked me to revise it and promised to rectify the situation right away. It is now August 30 and we STILL have NO air-conditioning!! I wish that I could revise it and give them ZERO stars. It has been a miserably hot summer!! read more

We had a known issue with the outdoor A/C unit in the new house we purchased and Gary was able to come out quickly and assess the problem. I was then able to easily schedule a time shortly afterwards for the repair to take place, which only took a few hours. There was an hourly charge to receive an estimate, but at the end of the day, Gary came in under the estimate amount he quoted and the overall price for all the work was fair. He also helped me learn about different parts about my new home such as the water softener and shutoff valve and answered any other questions I had since I had already paid for an hour of his time. Steve was thorough with the estimates, there were no surprises or markups later(neither the cheapest nor the most expensive.). Installation execution was smooth and quick. There were some hiccups(expected from all projects) which were resolved without any involvement from my side. e.g. the condenser had a dent (out of the box), I was informed of the same and the part was replaced w/o my involvement. Paperwork was a breeze. Pelle got the city inspections completed.
