The water heater is in the basement and I live on a hill so this flume went on for about 20 feet and you needed a ladder to get to it. I wish I could give 10 stars. Needed to have HVAC replacement so I called several contractors for estimates. Most were ridiculously high IRBIS quoted me $29,000.00 RIDICULOUS for the exact same set up Luis did. Luis stoped by and asked what i was looking for. He made some suggestions and on the spot gave me a price. It included city permits and third party testing. Way less then IRBIS and no pressure. He even asked me to call him if I didn't take his offer so he could see how he could improve his business, I thought that was honest of him. They did the work in 3 days, every day they cleaned up after themselves, they were very respectful. They kept me informed throughout the project. They are so honest and trustworthy. There is a lot of contractors out there and it's so stressful not knowing who to hire or if you're getting ripped off. I'm so glad I hired TORRES HVAC. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! This family owned and operated business just installed a 2-way heat pump (which also acts as A/C) at our home. They were prompt and courteous, extremely diligent, and cleaned up at the end of each day. When we ran into a problem getting it up and running due to our old electrical panel not being compatible with the newer circuit breakers, the owner drove 30 miles to find the right part. Great family business. Their bid was very competitive and they were able to start right away. Owner talked through all the options and gave us recommendations without being pushy. This was a large construction addition to our house with 3 units and all new ductwork. They showed up when they said they would. They made sure the work was neat and looked good in addition to being right. Passed all inspections on first try. Passed HERS test with room to spare on requirements. My AC unit was the original since they built these track homes 22 years ago which was incorrectly installed. I called Torres HVAC and spoke to Luis for his opinion and knowledge and gave me a quote which was cheaper then the four other companies I called. Luis is a life saver. Both of our A/C units stopped working and after multiple calls to local places we were told we just needed to replace our Dual Run Capacitor. The local AC supply store recently changed their policy and will no longer sell capacitors directly to customers. With Luis' help we were able to test both capacitors and prove they were good. Working remotely he then walked me through some other tests which validated that the problem was with the power source and not the capacitor at all. We decided to take the leap and replace our 23 year old gas furnace and AC system with a heat pump. We got three bids. This company's bid was a bit lower than the others, but they also came through with the most comprehensive solution. They did a deep inspection of everything prior to the bid, where the other companies just did a quick/shallow inspection. I believe they provided us with higher quality equipment than the other bids, and the did a better job making sure we had enough airflow (our previous system was lacking in that area). The new system does a much better job, and uses a lot less electricity. I would not hesitate to recommend Luis Torres and his staff. read more

My husband and I moved into our home a little over a year ago and went the Summer of 2019 without AC which was very uncomfortable for us and our two dogs. My criteria was that the company was to be professional, on time, cleaned up everyday (this was a 5 day job) and I knew enough to ask the right questions, so I was expecting thoughtful answers. Luis and I discussed everything beforehand, and I think we got a very good system, installed correctly for a competitive (not lowest nor the highest) price. We installed a 5 stage heat pump with a SEER rating of 18 as we wanted to eliminate non-renewable fuel and wanted a very quiet unit. We also removed all old duct work and replaced with R8 flex duct. Everything I read online said that the installation job was AT LEAST as important as the equipment I chose, if not more so. I would have given the company a 5 star rating except for one thing. They did not test the thermostat before leaving on Friday afternoon. We either had high heat or had to turn off the system until the installer returned. It was not a huge deal, but to get a rating of 5 stars, you can't let down on the last 5% of the job. I would give the company 4.5 stars, but that rating is not available. I will highly recommend Luis Torres and his company. Good guy with a good crew. read more

Luis replaced out aging heatpump about 14 months ago. He did a great job, at a very reasonable price. Work was professional, fast, and done without a lot of fuss. That was to be expected. Then 12 months later, Luis reached out again to follow up and offered to change my system filter for the cost of the filter as it was a year since installation. As we are in this time of COVID-19, there were lots of false starts to actually get it replaced, but he did come out today and finished what he originally said.
