This irony in the name is that they take Advantage of you here. Others had warned me that car dealerships are hell on Earth, but they were only funny stories because I had never experienced buying a car. Let me be clear: Advantage Toyota is hell on Earth. I saw several pre-owned RAV4s at Advantage Toyota that I was very interested in online. I read through all the information of each car including specs, CarFax, owner history, etc. All were great options for me and were within my price range and mileage. I took the trip here on a weekday afternoon after a kind mechanic told me to quickly prepare for my 20 year old cars funeral. I walked in before my appointment time and was greeted by a salesman at the door. Mind you, I'm a short woman nearing my 30s, so I was prepared to be taken advantage of. Poker face activated. The salesman talked to me about what I'm looking for and walked around the lot to show me each car. They looked fabulous and were perfect during the test drive. Great, I thought! We sit down inside to discuss the money. Here comes the meat and potatoes. I want to pay cash in full. I don't want a car payment every month. I'm expecting the price of the car to be what was advertised online. The salesman proceeds to explain the catch. The online price is $18,000. The actual price is $26,000 which is $8K more than advertised. Confused, sweaty, and frustrated, I ask where the price difference comes from. He explained that I would need to finance $24,000 and put $2,000 down. Did I lose you yet? I thought so. I asked the salesman to write down the numbers so that I can understand how the prices add up. I'm holding a pen already, so he says "OK, write this down... 26,000-8,000=18,000. I was shocked. Not at the equation, but at the mansplaining that just took place. He told me that if I financed it and paid it off within 4 months, I would pay "barely any interest." I tell Mr. Salesman that this doesn't make any sense and that I'd like to see the online listing that brought me in in the first place. We read the tiny font at the bottom that says bogus, vague things such as "...must finance through dealer when applicable & take same day delivery... sorry but we cannot extend special Internet pricing without a printed copy of the on-line pricing, and your in-store price may exceed our special on-line pricing. To take advantage of our special Internet discounts, please print this page and present it to your salesperson." I still don't understand. At this point I need a lawyer. I'm fuming. This is my 5th dealership within the past 14 days. I tell Mr. Salesman to please give me back my car key (he took it to give me a trade-in value quote). He stands up and walks away. Minutes later I'm signaled to "come" to who I assume is the manager behind a desk I can barely see over. He, again, mansplains that- and I quote- "it's no secret that we make money on financing- duh!" and is spitting words at me about how the online price is reflective of financing the full amount of the car and doesn't accurately portray the price of the car. "I cannot be the only person who this has frustrated" I say. "Well, no, but..." At this point I'm fuming. When he finally stops spewing B.S. I ask Mr. Deceptive for my key by simply putting out hand. I walk out, and that's that. It doesn't feel good to be deceived or taken advantage of (the irony is so good I had to repeat myself). These people are liars and thieves. I had a 2021 Toyota Highlander and the lease expired in September 2024. When my lease expired, I agreed to trade the highlander in for a 2024 RAV4 hybrid electric. However, after doing the trade in, these jerks, especially Frank from the financing department, failed to pay off the 2021 highlander. So, I called Frank, who told me that it was a misunderstanding and that the matter would taken care of. Two weeks ago, I get a notification from American Express that my credit dropped from an 830 to a 700 because that liar Frank from Finance never paid off the 2021 highlander. read more

If i can give zero starts to this company i would. I purchase this 2018 rav4 from advantage toyota in March of 2023. It had only 5,722 miles on the car and i thought it was a great car. I noticed the rear door had a gap in it, i took it to the dealer to have it fix, they handle my car there for a few days with no word on when it will be repair, i took it back a few days later and the service advisor Margie said that they send my car to the autobody shop to get it repair but the car was still in the lot. Than Margie tells me that the water pump has to go through my car insurance and the rear electrical socket they can't fix. I would give 0 stars. I brought my car in for an oil change. I had to wait there for almost 5 hours (even though I had an appointment). Then on my way home, my car kept stopping like something was wrong with the engine (even though it was a pretty new car with zero issues before). I almost did not make it home, and the whole situation was pretty scary. I brought the car to my local mechanic who looked at the oil and said there were 4 quarts too many! Either they did not drain the old oil before adding the new, or they added the oil twice. It was a pretty big mistake that could damage the engine. I had to pay for a new oil change plus to clean the filter (which means I paid for an oil change twice plus extra to undo the damage). I tried calling the dealership twice and spoke to a different person each time who said the manager would call me back, but no one did. And it's been over a month a half. read more

When I asked James the service consultant why are other customers getting there cars before me even tho I came sooner then them. His only response was that those customers must've come in for something else. I went with my son to purchase a car Saturday at 12 pm. He knew what he wanted prior to going in so this should be simple right? WRONG! SIX HOURS later we waited for a five minute approval! $3,000 difference stopped him from getting everything he wanted but he proceeded to purchase the vehicle. He took us back to the lot where it was full when we arrived was not practicality empty! After he was approved we waited for HOURS for the salesman AL to say come back the next day which would be Sunday to pick up the car because it was coming from a different location 30 minutes away! He then calls and says it wouldn't be available until Monday or Tuesday!!! We told him we needed to walk out the same day from the moment we started talking. So Sunday the manager tells us that they don't get deliveries on Sunday and he should have known that!! So now I'm furious! The manager makes arrangements and tells us to come at 3:30 to pick up the vehicle. It's now 5:18 pm and no one has come to say a word. So not only did he not get the exact vehicle he wanted. They're taking hours to release the vehicle when it took them seconds to snatch up almost $10,500! After AL got approval and the money he went missing and onto the next customer! I've closed for my house faster than this. I've purchased FOUR vehicles from this same location and this is the worst experience ever! I talked my son into coming here and I feel terrible about it! The place an empty so why are we waiting? They have his money and they moved onto the next! They don't realize that my mom was coming on Monday but there's no way I'll bring her here. They lost that sale and any sales from me in the future! The customer service was s the worst! I'm afraid to even see the vehicle when they FINALLY call us after cleaning it! This Was a nightmare! I was assured the vehicle would be there for me when I returned with the Bank check. (I even took pictures of the vehicle) Exactly 7 days later, I returned with the Bank Check, to pay for the car in full and I was informed by the manager, Tommy, that they had sold it. But Tommy told me not to worry, because they had the same car on the Assembly line being built and it would be ready and at the dealership within 6 weeks. They had my deposit and the paperwork and sold the car anyway. I shook hands with the sales manager, Tommy, Mr. Durant and the finance manager, Arlan Aslam, after filling out all the paperwork to purchase the vehicle and they took my deposit to hold it and sold it anyway. I went pre approved for a used car. First the price you see online is BS. They added more than $4000 (that is how they get you) offering a great price online that it's not entirely true. I showed up pre approved by my bank and they completely ignored it and told me that the interest rate my bank was offering was above 12%...... so they send me with TD at a 10% rate. . Short story: got the car waited until the next business day, called my bank and got it refinance with 6.75%, and took me 15 minutes. They are hungry for money and add points to the interest rate to get you. Got a nice almost brand new car .... But will never go back. And without saying they tried incredible hard to sell me every possible warranty available out there. And giving me lines of BS saying "not sure if the bank will give you the money without all the service contracts, tire protection, gap insurance... etc etc " If you go there keep your eyes open.
