Documenting what followed to hopefully help the business owner. I already had a plumber who told me he couldn't help because he didn't know where the leak was without tearing the concrete of my garage up. Not ideal. So that's why I called Leak Masters, who theoretically specialize in this (e.g. with 'ground penetrating radar'). I was given a window of noon to 3 but ~3 I was called and politely asked if I could wait a while as the Tech was running late. No problem. At 5, I had to call back and make sure they were still coming. They confirmed. At 5:30 I got a call from the Tech to whom I explained 'I have a leak in a pipe somewhere under my garage, I need your help to pin point it' to which I was advised they do not do that and I should cancel the visit. (leaving me stuck with no running water yet another day) I called and got someone who sounded quite harried who put me on hold. I explained the situation and thanked them for their try, but I need a leak detection service, not a plumber. They said they'd cancel it. Then 5 minutes later, I got a call from the rep who called me ~3 saying I should let their guy come out and take a look anyways. I explained the situation again, that it wouldn't make any sense. I didn't need my garage torn up, I needed to know WHERE in the garage we needed to cut. Then the Tech called me saying the office told him to call. He pushed his services yet again and so I had to ask him 'What sense does it make to have a plumber come out when we don't know where to even dig? I already HAVE this information.' So, like many other online reviews (for Beacon Plumbing), it seems they're VERY aggressive on forcing sales and not focused on customer service. Very disappointing as I've had nothing but the best service through the entire renovations of this place for half of a year.

I have a 4-plex which has two meters. One meter includes two units (four tenants) and a laundry…read moreroom, and the other meter is just for two units (one tenant, and one vacant unit). I thought I had a hidden leak in the side with only one tenant because even though the other unit has been vacant for a couple of months, my bill showed the water usage was still three times higher than the other two, which has four tenants plus laundry room. Jeremy came on time, and very quickly figured out that I didn't have a leak. I was still puzzled as to why the side with only one tenant was using three times more water than the side with four tenants and a laundry room. Jeremy was willing to troubleshoot with me, and took a second look at the meters. He already knew which two units each meter belonged to, but this time I asked him to look at the meter readings and tell me which one was higher. From that information, I discovered the utility company had switched the meter readings for the two accounts. It turned out that the meter showing the larger amount of usage actually belonged to the two units with four tenants and the laundry room. That made sense. Problem solved. And the best part, I didn't have a leak. Thanks to Jeremy for being patient and willing to work with me to figure out the problem, even though it wasn't a plumbing issue.

The SPU water bill was astronomically high so we wanted to see if there was a sneaky leak. Turns out that SPU read the enter wrong. They read a number that was mathematically impossible to on in a meter. Meters don't count backwards nor do they reset. So when we popped open the manhole cover to the meter we saw that it was reading a number LOWER than the bill. A mathematical impossibility. So we were reassured and didn't have to fix anything. Bruce went into great detail to explain how meters work and some of SPU's processes. Very helpful! Keeping his number in my phone because of his fast, thorough, knowledgeable, and professional service!

I told them I have never descaled it in 20 years. $250 labor per hour and about $8 for white vinegar. It has been about three weeks and now I had the same LC code---needs descaled. After watching the service technician descaled it, literally- 1. turn off water valve from supply to the tankless, 2. turn off the tankless valve to the house, 3. run the washer hose from the tankless to the bucket and open the tankless recirculation valve then 4. washer hose from pump to tankless and open tankless recirculation valve. 5. Turn on the recirculation pump. Of course with the solution... I decided I would do it from now on. So "I began researching". I love AI... #1 if it has been years since descaling, "Use a commercial grade descaller". NO they didn't. #2 Do not dilute white vinegar since it is only about 5% as effective as a commercial grade descaler. YES THEY DID a 50/50 mix with water- LOL #3 If it has been years, white vinegar will not work. AI was correct. #4 If you use white vinegar you need to use it straight undiluted and recirculate it for a minimum of 90 minutes. NO THEY DIDN'T - how about 30 minutes... For a Business that has been in business for decades, you'd think they knew all this...DO NOT FLUSH $260 dollars down the toilet with this company for descaling, I wouldn't hire them to do my coffee maker...

We have used Silverdale P&H since the house was built over 20 years ago. They did the original new…read moreconstruction plumbing which has never needed repair or replacement. Since then they have installed a water filtration system and new hot water tanks. Last week we had a recurring problem with a partial flush toilet. Dylan came out immediately and diagnosed the problem; not the toilet but the sewer line from the outside of the house to the septic system. This work was done originally by a septic contractor not SP&H. Over the years the exterior line had sunk creating a belly that trapped water. Dylan used a camera to show me the issue then using another piece of equipment he located the exact location underground. Today Dylan and John hand excavated the problem sewer line without damaging the shrubs planted above. They installed new pipe to proper grade, backfilled and restored the mulching. Top quality professional work! This folks is "VALUE" ! Low bidder doesn't necessarily mean best value. There's no better plumber in this area.
