I used Affordable plumbing several times and he always did a good job. Six months ago I had a clogged drain at my apartment building and he took care of it but charged over $200 to clear the drain. Last night i told him I had a stopped up drain at the apartments and asked him if he could go there on Saturday. He texted me back and said yes for $350 he would clear the stoppage. I told him that seemed very high and he texted back a picture of bottle of Drano and made some sarcastic comments. I got the drain cleared for $90.00 and my tenant was very happy. Hector and his team are terrific plumbers! They work very quickly and do solid work. I had to have a new gas line installed and have the tankless water heater flushed, which is on the roof. By the time they got to my place and did everything needed only 1 hour passed. And that was only cause the flushing required a while to get done. They even took the time to test the heater, and some other gas appliances, afterward to make sure everything was working properly. We had had them out for a plugged up toilet before and they came out on a Sunday evening and did the job fast. but when this started occurring more often we realized that it was time for a new sewer and install a clean out which our house built in the 50's. We had another plumber says that and showed me on camera as well as Hector. His prices were reasonable and lower than the other plumber. Doing a sewer is not cheap in any respect but they did a good job in a semi timely manner. Not all their fault as it was a day or two and that doesn't work well when digging. They put new pipe from toliet/tub out to clay pipe and installed a clean out and sleeved the clay pipe from driveway to sewer. Warranty is good, like 20-30 years. I hope I don't need to, but would do business or recommend them. He also noticed out tub was leaking and a few weeks after the job was done came over and installed new valves and shower handles. Listen Up! This is my first positive review, normally I only vent over being abused. Twice in the last year, I've contacted local "talent" to deal with some plumbing issues under my house. Both times they flaked and didn't show up, or call to apologize and re-schedule...a complete blow-off. I won't mention names or companies of the offenders due to the litigious nature of our society. ARP is the real deal, honest tradesmen, making a living and working to build a loyal customer base. They showed up as promised to clear a drain, and offered some comments and an estimate for preventing future occurrences of the same problem. We agreed to do some more work. They showed up on time the for next visit, and did the work for 20% less than the estimate (which was reasonable from the start!). They were clean, polite and professional. I called Affordable Plumbing Rooter 06/20/13 at 1020 am. I believe they also go by Allstar Rooters. I had a problem with two leaking toilets and clogged up bathroom sink (hair). When I called them they told me they were booked up for the whole day but then he changed his mind and told me he would call me back to see if one of the guys would squeeze me in his schedule. He called me back immediately and said Santos was available in 30 mins. Santos came in about 20 to 25 mins. He was very polite and precise. After diagnosing the problem Santos and I made a deal that I would go buy the new kitchen toilet and he would install the new toilet and fix the other toilet and sink (buying my own toilet saved me $$) While I was getting the new toilet from Home Depot (which was roughly $90 with tax) he went to go fulfill his time and got his other daily missions done. We met back up at my house at 1300 and he was done at 1530. From what we negotiated the bill came out to be $307! Amazing! Santos was very good with his work, he taught me and explained everything thoroughly. He was honest about the price and I could see that he really cares about his customers. After purchasing an older home, we had a few upgrades and deferred maintenance things we wanted to do - Hector was super responsive and gave a great price. As a side note, my previous high-end Manhattan Beach plumber finally returned my call I left with their answering service and I told them I was somewhat impatient and had to solve the problem ASAP and had called another plumber that was on their way. Sewer line issues... one big job most plumbers don't want to tackle. The few "handyman" type plumbers I've used didn't want to take on the work. The references and quotes I got started at $9K and up to $15K for a 80 ft pipe burst plus 30 ft reline from sidewalk to street. Based purely on the reviews I saw here, I called Hector. He was cordial, honest and gave us a quote for the 80 ft and 30 ft work (in the event the last 30 ft didn't need the relining). Even with both 80 ft and 30 ft work combined, it was a couple thousand below the lowest quote we had received elsewhere. Unfortunately it turned out tree roots had badly affected both sections, but Hector and his crew did an excellent and quick job in just a couple days. The 1st day was only for excavation to expose all the Y-connections running along the 80 ft line (this was a multi-unit property). The 2nd day was the actual pipe burst and then relining the 30 ft run from sidewalk to city main under the street. They worked well past 7PM to make sure the new lining had dried properly. Sent a camera down to show me how the last 30 ft looked like after the relining was done. Awesome 40 year warranty plus 5 year warranty on stoppages so it was a no-brainer to go with Hector. He knows his trade well and performs the work at a fraction of what the big-name Plumbing outfits want to charge. We had Hector come do some work on our plumbing and gas when we first bought our house last November. He beat the other quotes we had by a considerable amount and began work promptly. They worked long days to put in a new water main (it was original and the water flow was terrible and chunks were visible in the water), move gas line for the dryer, move and install other pipes/drains for the kitchen sink and dishwasher, laundry and refrigerator. They were honest and reliable and know what they are doing. We did have one issue now more than 6 months later - we finally bought a new fridge to use the water line they put in for the ice maker, and it was a hot water line instead of cold. A person named Bryan called us back right away. We asked him to come the next morning. He arrived right on time. He checked the problem. He fixed it. I've been meaning to write this for some time. Hector Meza knows his business, is service minded, prompt, fair and honest. We had just bought our house in November, 2012 and moved in when several weeks later we learned that we had a broken sewage pipe. We found Hector on Yelp and I called him. He came, and without going into our crawlspace, knew what the problem was, gave a reasonable quote and came back to do the job. He and his colleague were hardworking, efficient and completed the work in the time they said they would. The job entailed replacing old sewage pipes with new pvc pipes (that required some digging out our front yard). The work was challenging as it was all done in the crawlspace under the house. I called Hector again this morning due to a broken shower knob and right away he replied. Okay...so here's the deal. I've been in Property Management for over 25 years. One of my buildings with multiple units starting having sewer mainline stoppage. This is always a disaster in rentals because of shared sewer lines.
