This place has a cool vibe, with good food and tasty cocktails. It's a nice place to grab some food a few drinks and hang out. Depending on the time of day you go usually dictates how busy they are. If you're wanting to hang out and talk then I'd probably plan to be there a little earlier in the evening. They've got a decent selection of food items. The happy hour prices are good. And run from 7-11 pm Monday- Thursday. The chips and queso were good but the tacos left something to be desired. The chicken was very dry and I had to order salsa to help then got charged $1.50 for a tiny cup. The non-alcoholic drinks are served in small, flimsy plastic disposable cups and they brought me a new for each refill. So wasteful. Very yummy tacos! My fav are the piggy piggy and the spicy chicken. The prices are a little high, but worth it because you leave happy. I also love the street corn, but it's never consistent - I've had it 3 times and tasted different each time. Not that it isn't good, just needs to be consistent with the spices and cheese they put on it. Sometimes it tastes like it has less, other times like it has more. read more

Ask waiter about food at 9:15pm. No idea when it would be coming. Left at 9:40pm. No food. Paid for two cokes, and chips and cheese sauce. yes paid for something I never got!!! First time I came here, I sat at the bar and everything was perfect from the service, to the drinks, to the food. Came here again tonight, sat at a table and everything was horrible :( the server softened up a bit eventually but started off rough. When putting drinks on the table, she sarcastically said "thank you" as she was walking away because no one said anything. She was very short and rude. Other people around us are making disgusted faces at margaritas and food. Maybe it's a bad night? Don't know. We're good tippers regardless but food and service was bleh. The tacos were very good however the guacamole was terrible it had huge chunks of onion probably more onion than anything else. Guacamole should have some onion but it shouldn't be overpowering and it should have other things in with it as well this just had what seemed to be avocado and onion. Came here Friday night with 5 other people and say outside. Tacos were cold and very little meat for $5 each. Service was also extremely slow and sort of rude. I've been to many of these trendy taco places across the Midwest and Nyc. Taco Agave is doing it all wrong. No need to put coleslaw on everything. Change it up some. read more

Second time here. Really enjoy most of the tacos. The margarita we ordered was garbage. Maybe others are better. Also they gave us the wrong taco, didn't offer to replace it and then charged us for that one instead of the one we ordered. Which was annoying since it was more expensive. Taco Agave delivers delicious food in a timely manner, even when busy, even on Taco Tuesdays when certain selections are half-priced. I can only imagine this is because of employees like Jameson, my bartender/server for the day I visited (1/23/18). Jameson's professionalism, courteous attitude, and general geniality heightened my experience by providing humorous conversation during my short wait time for my food. In my opinion, the ability to hold conversation in a manner that comes across as genuine amplifies an employees value to any company. No one wants to feel like they're a burden to the bartender, and in Jameson's case, I felt welcome and content for the entirety of my visit. Because of employees like Jameson, I'll continue to visit this restaurant whenever I'm in the mood for a great taco. read more

Stopped by for a margaritas only. Just a couple of people in the bar (Monday night). Bartenders were great. Traditional Margarita was very good, but the Strawberry Jalapeño Margarita is definitely a reason to return to try the food. We always use websites to preview before we visit. Visited here today for the first time. I had the cucumber cilantro margarita and my husband had the strawberry jalapeño margarita. Both were excellent. We shared the chips and salsa. The salsa was a fresh tasting tomato salsa and very mild. All in all a great starter. Everyone also agreed the street corn was a winner - on chips or with a fork. Between the four of us we tried five different kinds of tacos. I expected at least one to be just ok, but they all went far beyond ok. My favorite by far was the Asian BBQ. We all agreed it was fantastic. The meat had a ton of flavor, the sauce was creamy and the veggies added crunch. My husband and son thought the spicy chicken was really good. If you get into tuna the pink taco is a winner. I liked it, but thought if I ate a whole taco I might have gotten tired of it by the end. The jerk taco had subtle flavor, one that got better as I took more bites. My husband thought it could have been more strongly seasoned. My kids snarfed down the steak tacos before I got a taste. One taco would satisfy a smaller appetite. Two would satisfy someone with a healthy appetite. Three if you are a big eater. They aren't skimpy with the fillings. There is a choice of corn or flour tortillas. We said the only thing that might make this place better would be homemade tortillas. But that's probably asking a bit much. Service was excellent. Derek was friendly, attentive and had good recommendations. Just the kind of server you want. The atmosphere was more of a bar than I realized, but since it was daytime it was fine for a family. And obviously eating outside would not feel like a bar at all. It was just too cold today. They don't have a kids menu so if you have picky kids who don't like flavorful foods I wouldn't take them. My boyfriend and I have been to taco agave twice, once for dinner after 7pm and once for lunch. The margaritas are great! And I would go back to get drinks, but the guacamole was beyond bland and both times we went our tacos came out cold. There are several great reviews which makes me think maybe we went at bad times and makes me want to give it another try. We had the two different types of BBQ pork tacos, jerk chicken taco, and Nashville hot chicken taco. The BBQ pork tacos were incredibly good and I will definitely come back for those. The Hot Chicken taco, although nothing like Nashville hot chicken, was pretty tasty. We all agreed that the Jerk Chicken taco was really bad. I wasn't really feeling any of the drinks they had on the menu, but I spoke with one of the bartenders tony, and he hooked it up with a drink that wasn't on the menu.
