We were there celebrating our engagement, and they made it feel so special by decorating our table with rings and confetti to celebrate our love. Our server gave us so much attention and made the experience feel personal. Since it was our first time there, they took the time to walk us through some of the best items on and off the menu, and shared their favorite dishes. Everything was done with care. The restaurant was clean, the bathroom was amazing, and the food was worth every dollar. The short rib was so tender, and the New York strip was seasoned to perfection and cooked medium well just how we like it. The twice-baked potato loaded with bacon, sour cream, chives, and cheese was delicious, and the mac and cheese was so good. I had the lobster bisque and short rib. The lobster bisque was good but inconsistent. My friends order the same and some had more lobster than others. Also the lobster is we chopped up so it almost resembled crab meat. The short rib was huge and delish. The meat shredded and fell off the bone. The service was great. It felt a bit rushed at the end. From start to finish, Bones was full of great food, service, generosity, and class. When you walk in, the interior feels classy and traditional. Bones has old money vibes - for example, the receptionist referred to us as Mr. and Ms. which I felt like was very polite and again, traditional. We were celebrating my birthday, and they pre-decorated our table a little bit! We got special print-out menus that said "Happy Birthday" and the table had a little bit of confetti on it! It was a nice gesture to be welcomed with. Our server, Michael, was great at being attentive (without being overly attentive), and providing recs/answering our questions. We went with the Crab and Lobster Napoleon for our app, the Ribeye to split, and a side of their famous Hash Browns. Everything was very good!! I will let the pictures speak for themselves, but all the food comes out hot, fresh, and with good flavor. I really do recommend getting the Hash Browns - it sounds a little silly to order such a dish at a steakhouse, but try it for yourself :) All dishes have a good portion size so keep that in mind when ordering! While not pictured, I do have to give a shoutout to the complimentary bread service - their bread is real good. Hot and fluffy on the inside, crispy on the outside. Try not to get full off the bread alone. For dessert, Bones surprised us with literally the tallest and thickest slice of ice cream cake I've ever seen! My jaw dropped. I love ice cream cake and it was awesome to be treated to some!! I already thought that the table decorations and the special menu were enough to recognize my birthday, but this is the generosity of Bones. I will absolutely be returning some day! I'm giving this restaurant a 4/5 because I visited for a work event. We had about thirty people, and we were given a private room in the back, which was great because it allowed us to mingle without disturbing other customers. Since it was a large party, we had a fixed menu with two steak options or salmon. I chose a medium-rare steak, which was delicious, and all the sides were equally tasty. For dessert, we had a variety of options, and we didn't have any complaints. The only thing that would have been nice is if the server gave recommendations and engaged in conversation with us. While I love this spice, it was generously caked on my filet and was overpowering. I actually scrapped off the excess and shared with others that wanted to try it on their steak. They were good, but I think I'd save the calories and not reorder this shared side. *Another side recommended as a customer favorite was the Corn Pudding. If you order this slightly sweet leaning side dish think bread pudding with corn throughout. Not one person at our table liked it, and we would not reorder this Bones favorite again. Ok, I am guessing this has been covered in any reviews but we had one of the best experiences celebrating my dad's milestone bday. I booked a private room in advance and there was no extra charge or minimum. Room was awesome, with custom menus, decorations, and made it much easier to carry on a conversation. Service could not have been better, not intrusive but on top of everything with a smile. The bread ? Could have eaten just that, but everything we ordered was perfect, salads (they suggested splitting or half salads which was perfect), meats cooked to perfection, and the complimentary dessert was enough for our party of 5. Tonight was my mom's birthday, and tomorrow is my father's so I gave them a choice of where they wanted to go, they chose to go to Bones! Really excited because I love it here. We started off with the peach mule, and a Manhattan for my dad. Got a bottle of red and we were odd! Michael our server was incredible, professional, friendly and helpful. The entire team here makes everyone feel very special. First out was their house-made bread. Crunchy on the outside and pillowy soft on the inside. So addictive! Wedge for my dad, I split the bones salad with my mom and it was killer! I didn't think I'd like the Bibb lettuce but it had just enough crunch and incredible flavor. I ended up picking at my dad's wedge at the end, got all of the goodies. All three of us got steaks. Two bone in ribeyes- I had au poivre, one had NY Strip. Our sides were the spinach, mushrooms, and their famous hash browns. I have not seen my parents eat as much as they did tonight. We still had a lot left over, and I want to point out that every steak was nailed, cooked exactly how it was ordered. The au poivre sauce was so good, peppercorn crusted and the demi was super rich. I should've asked for another side to go! They came out with a giant piece of their mountain high pie for dessert, a blue candle for my dad and a pink one for my mom. Special touch. Bones however stands out with their attention to detail with the service they provide with many on staff having worked there for some time. Had a party of three go Monday night was super excited because we read all of the descriptions and saw the pictures and was super excited to go but was treated less than human as we walked in. We ordered to sit in a direction weren't greeted with asking if we wanted our Coates taken or if we had any preferences about where we'd like to sit and wait. The staff totally ignored us for several minutes as people walked by and stared at us and we just felt totally out of place so if that's the type of environment you like this is definitely the place for you, but if it's not, I wouldn't go here to save my life read more

$$$$$ 3/5/25 Every year, my daughter and I have visited Bones the first week of March. It is to celebrate the fact that we made it through another February! Yes, there is a story behind that, but that is for another time and another place. This is year three of having dinner at Bones, and to our delight it was just as fabulous as a previous two years. As always, the service is outstanding, and the atmosphere is genuine and warm. I might have mentioned this before, but for the ladies... The bathrooms are clean, private, and just worth a visit! Our server did not hurry us through dinner, and he, and all who watched over us, were very attentive. We were there for well over an hour, but never felt like they wanted us to leave. There is a bar in the front area of bones, where you can catch a drink before your table is ready... as well as some seating with comfortable chairs and high tables for sipping on your drink. Great ambiance and food options. Sat at the bar with my date for the evening and it was an exceptional experience. Bones is unlike any other steak house in the metro area. The service is personal and business influenced. Drinks, Food Options, desserts and appetizers are in constant rotation from one end of the bar to the other. All options are favorable. However, for couples you can put your name on the bar listing and you can get a spot (dinner cam be served) at the bar. Steaks are delicious, cocktails are solid! Bones is an Atlanta institution. Ask a local what the best steak place is in town, and there is a very good chance they will say Bones or Chops. I like them both, but if I had to pick, Chops gets the nod for the flash fried lobster tail. Parking is valet only. Not unusual for a premium place in Buckhead. It's free so you just need to tip the valet. I've been a handful of times. I've sat at the bar and the dining room. The ambiance is "classic oak wood steak house." Lots of pictures of celebrities that have eaten there. They also have some other neat to look at decor. The last time I went, I splurged for the Wagyu Strip and it didn't fail. The hash browns are the highlight of the sides. If you live in Atlanta and haven't been to Bone's you should splurge on a special occasion if you can. It's going to be $100 per person plus, but that's normal for a premium steak house. I don't know where it ranks on my all time steak places, but it is up there especially if you get the Wagyu Strip. The menu won me over immediately when I saw French Onion Soup and Fois Gras on the menu. The fois gras took me by surprise by how much fois gras there was. There was 3 giant medallions for $24!!!!!! I can just eat that all day every day. It was delicious. The french onion soup also hit. It wasn't overly salty and there was a perfect amount of cheese. The meal was off to a great start. I split the rib eye for 2 with my friend and ordered a bunch of sides. The rib eye was well seasoned and perfectly cooked. The sides were extremely disappointing though, which is sad because I generally LOVE sides at steakhouses. The mushrooms were watery and soggy and underseasoned :( Service was impeccable. We went to Bones with a group of friends and family that we hadn't seen in a while and wanted something nice to spend time together over. The food was all generally good, in addition to steak, we got the fried onion rings, french onion soup, hash browns, green beans, and sauteed mushrooms. We saw a lot online about the hash browns but I wasn't too impressed, lacking salt and just a fancier way to eat potatoes. As for the steak, I wasn't too impressed either. I found the strip to be pretty tough and the ribeye was good but a little too fatty where the shape and texture of the meat was compromised. The restaurant looks like a classic old school steakhouse on the inside and the decor was unique and nice to look at. We enjoyed our time but Ive definitely had better steakhouses and would probably prefer a Whole Foods steak instead. read more

The servers always know how to tend to your needs even before you think you need it. Not once have I gone here and the food hasn't been one of the best things I've eaten. I would like to say that the service is top notch. i love the fact that they "de-crumb" the table, that certianly is something that doesnt happen everywhere you eat at. What I don't like is that even with a reservation, we always get the same table by the restrooms.. that's not a coincidence after the 3rd time with all the available tables. Food is al la carte. I love the filet and the dry aged steak. My favorite sides were the hashbrown, corn, and Mac and cheese disappeared from our table quickly. I remember one time we had a cake and they lost the cake, we paid anyways however they did make it right after. So good and flavorful without being too salty. Tried a caesar salad as well, just average. Average filet mignon and tried the Wagyu steak. I think both were cooked perfectly, but Wagyu in steak form is just hard to digest due to the high fatty content in Wagyu meat. I would recommend sticking with the other cuts at any steakhouse not just this one. Mac and cheese and mushroom sides were also just ok. We visited our daughter this weekend from Michigan. I have been to Bones around 6-8 times over the years when in Buckhead on business but it's been around 5 years. Happy to say Bones is better than ever! We started with Caesar salads (split) and lobster bisque. Both outstanding. Along with the bread right out of the oven we could have stopped there but why? My wife and daughter split the crabcakes while I went with my usual 16 oz NY Strip. Sides included hash browns, mac n cheese and grilled asparagus. The steak is always great but that steak took it to another level. Best steak ever. Somehow we managed to share a peach cobbler for dessert. Service was great as always. This is one of my fav restaurant here in ATL. This is your typical steakhouse dining affair but it does it with the classy bougie ambiance. The service is your old school hospitality and you are escorted to your booth with dim lit lighting when you walk in. The steaks on the menu are succulent and flavored just right. Mother's Day 2024 - 545pm reservation My daughter's godmother lives in Antigua & came to visit overnight. She invited us to dinner with her mother. It was supposed to be special. Idk if she booked online or via telephone. I drove 32 mins from South Fulton to park @ valet. There was a Caucasian older male named Chris who stopped us. I was getting out of my car & said, "Hi please wait, I need to get my baby out!" He told me, "I don't believe you can go inside. It's age 6 and older for kids? Idk maybe you can check!" I called the restaurant from my car & a man answered the phone to confirm there's an age minimum & mentioned it's listed on the website. Super tiny print age 6 to 106! I'm glad no one was 107!! I saw a Caucasian family of three people, a woman, teen girl (maybe age 15/16 low cut, short mini halter dress, bright orange or pink) & young boy (maybe age 9/10, collared shirt & tan shorts). This stood out to me because they "supposedly" have a dress code as well. I was so disappointed & hurt. This was our only dinner plans for baby's godmother being in the U.S. Also, everything in town was booked. She tried to call other restaurants on the spot. Why not have a section to the side w/ select tables & closed doors? Family friendly. Parents of young children deserve fine dining. If you're gonna bend ONE or two rules, you better bend them ALL! I was blocking the valet entry & decided to turn around & leave. I rolled my window down to ask Chris, "Should I move to the side?" He had an attitude by then, rude tone, abrupt & he says "Well yeah eventually. Ya'll just need to sort it out or whatever and move" threw his hands up & rushed to park other cars. I specifically asked for his name after that. I told my friend to go on without me & treat her mom to dinner. They honored the reservation for the two of them by 556pm. I was soooo disappointed & cried all the way back home. Shame on you Bones for discriminating against a mother on Mother's Day. If a person were to be age 30 with a tall 5 y/o, how do you know? We decided to celebrate our wedding anniversary for the first time at Bones. Expectations were high and the staff met it. The quality was very high, but expected based on the prices ($290 with tip and no alcohol). We both had steaks and they were great. Our waiter was Rado and he was fantastic. There was a small snafu with my order, but Rado recovered the service quickly. My steak was cooked incorrectly and once I brought it to his attention, he immediately had a new steak cooked, but what really set him apart from other servers was he came out of the kitchen with his apology and he served me a very nice appetizer and said for me to have this why I wait for my new steak. It was a sausage type appetizer which was delicious and it allowed me to have something to eat while my wife was eating her entree. I have had this problem before with other restaurants, but was never offered this. That went a long way with me. The meal was perfectly orchestrated and spaced out and I never felt rushed like you do in most establishments that want to turn tables over. For many years, I was a big fan of Rays on the River. Our last two times were truly disappointing at Rays so we decided to change to Bones for special occasions and glad that we did. We now have a new place to go for special occasions and business meetings for sure. If you are looking for a place to dine insted of just eating out, no better place than Bones in Atlanta.
