Leather booths at Agra Cafe, Silverlake, Los Angeles.
    Paul B.

Wonderful. A large restaurant with intimate leather booths, plush decor, perfect traditional ambience - a VERY high-quality cuisine. Service is efficient, polite, attentive and knowledgeable. This is the real deal. One of my favorites in all of L.A. Highly recommended.

    so freaking yummy

This is the best Indian Restaurant I have been to since I've been in LA. The portions and prices are unmatched. The presentation is so picture perfect. I went with a few friends, and I loved it so much I'm going back with my brother and fiancé and twins. The Service was on point as well, we didn't even wait long.

Friendly owner & the food is decent here but portions of each item seems smaller than it used to be, every A La Carte item is sufficient for just 1 person which is a little disappointing !!!

Chicken tikka masala, rice, Raita, vegetable of the day, lentil, naan, lamb korma.
    Jen B.

Terrible Indian food. No flavor whatsoever. The chicken tikka masala was basically soup. They watered down the curry that it was pure liquid. The lamb korma was not good either. It wasn't as soupy consistency but no flavor. Do not order from here. It's terrible. Almost inedible.

I was craving a coconut curry, so I ordered the green coconut curry with chicken -- spicy. It was very flavor, and so was the garlic naan.

Okay. Not the best. Won't come back just because other Indian joints are better. Price was pretty reasonable though

This is for a to-go order. We got aloo paratha, chicken tikka masala, lamb korma, garlic basil…read morenaan, and plain basmati rice. We also wanted onion baje but they didn't have any. The two entrees and potato dish were excellent. The naan was just okay. The last time we came here (pre-covid) the interior was beautiful and somewhat of an elegant setting. We were shocked when we walked in last night. It looks like it's going out of business. Dirty tabletops, no nice tablecloths or centerpieces like before. And the front door - jeez guys - get some windex. It is sooooo filthy it almost stopped us from going in. There's a lot of great Indian restaurants around and maybe covid hit this one extra hard. The food, as I said, was really good but the interior really gave me pause. .

I ordered very simple items: dal tadka, rice, chicken pakora, and aloo paratha. Instead of chicken pakora, they sent me chicken curry. The dal tadka was completely tasteless, and the aloo paratha didn't even seem to have salt in it. I've been living in America for 10 years and have eaten at many Indian restaurants, but this is the first time I've been this disappointed with Indian food. I'm sorry to leave a review like this because I normally don't, but the food was so disappointing that I now have to order food again from somewhere else after already paying for this meal. Really disappointing experience.

And thank the lords that I went with a group so we could try a bunch of different bites~ I will start off by saying that I truly cannot understand some of the haterade or strong dislike comments that talk about lack of flavor because genuinely every dish we tried was flavorful and overall pretty darn delicious. The spice level was actually a bit high for some of my friends but really hit that perfect mild-moderate heat for me. We ordered the dosa onion rings, piri piri fries, paneer parm sandwich, the bbq wings (for my omni friends), the malai rigatoni, and the green chile chutney pizza. We were hungry as a group of 4 but I will admit we had a few bites left at the end that we could not finish. Honestly everything was delicious but the standouts were the piri piri fries and the paneer parm sandwich. The fries came out hot, crispy, so well seasoned with both ketchup and raita dipping sauces; ugh I can't help but love a good potato! The paneer parm sandwich was such a thick, indulgent slab of fried paneer with melted cheese and chutney, chef's kiss would absolutely get again. The dosa onion rings were so true to their name because you could absolutely taste the dosa batter on the outside; it was a tad difficult to bite/cut but otherwise also very solid. The mango chutney that it came with hit and this is coming from a girl who usually doesn't like sweet chutneys. The green chile chutney pizza was sooo tasty; good fusion between a classic pizza and I love green chutney so could it get better than this? We tried both alcoholic and N/A drinks and they were delicious! The tandoori spritz was A+ imo. The interior is bright and it's fun to really hit a sports bar with such an eclectic fusion of foods. It was interesting to see the variety of sports they had on each TV too. Even with the small comment on service below, this place deserves a 5/5 and I would totally return. Prices are very fair for quality, esp in this economy. Service was...interesting. Friendly overall, checked in on us when first items were dropped off, but not again. When we were ordering, we wanted to be mindful of portions/quantity so we asked for some guidance and were essentially told "well I don't believe in restricting myself and you guys are all adults so you should order what you want." Totally understand the energy and intention, but did find it rather unhelpful as we were visiting from out of town and had no place to store leftovers. I understand the role of server when it comes to upselling, but it was a really strange interaction when we were already ordering quite a bit.

The piija was a standout for me. We also came in during the NBA Finals game when the Knicks won and the place had TVs all along the walls, so the energy and crowd that day were a lot of fun. Even outside of a big game night, seems like a solid spot for watching sports with great food and drink options. Staff were friendly and attentive. Really good experience and would come back.

(Take-out: 03/07/26)…read more IN SHORT: Beyond exceptional - phenomenal - sensational. My take-out was popadoms, mango pickle, carrot pickle, garlic basil naan, mulligatawny soup, chicken buna, chicken balti, fried rice. PROS: insanely delicious and authentic Indian cuisine, succulent tender & crumbly chicken (100% very fresh white meat), melt in the mouth awesomeness, the freshest of spices & ingredients, with exceptionally-good service - top notch, lovely staff. In short, the BEST Indian cuisine I have ever had in Los Angeles. You will NOT regret this choice of restaurant, I guarantee. CONS: Almost none, but I would say the poppadoms were advertised as 4, but were more like 2 - difficult to tell since they come in broken pieces in a small brown paper bag (for take-out); also, the garlic basil naan was a little too 'doughy' for my personal liking, but that's just me - no biggie whatsoever - it was still fabulous. Limited parking on the lot, but street parking all around in the historical neighborhood of sweet Los Feliz. Inside, the main restaurant is medium-sized (cosy & intimate, certainly not cramped) and totally gorgeous - plush decor, terrific ambience, high-class romantic vibes, perfect lighting and music, with very pleasant seating booths for parties of four, and the some additional tables for two. Great choice for a date night. SPICE LEVEL ADVISORY: I had requested my two curry dishes as spice level 'hot', and they really were at the top-end of my tastebud limits (I am a very experienced curry diner from Manchester, England, where hot really does mean hot!) - both dishes were truly out-of-this-world (no exaggeration), but they really blew my socks off - in a good way. Can't imagine having spice level 'very hot' as I'm sure that would be WAY too much for me to handle. But, you on the other hand, should totally go for it - if you dare! :-) In conclusion, I was literally blown-away by this wonderful restaurant - both metaphorically and gastronomically. Thank you to the lovely lady and her brother who made this, my first try-out, unforgettable. From this day forward, my 'go-to' Indian restaurant without hesitation. Finally, I found you! :-)
