The service was ok, because right when we came in they told us to wait five minutes to order which was weird but I get that they can be busy since the food is soo good. I get the larger plate for $17 and got two entrees (lamb curry and chicken curry), rice, salad, and naan. At first it didn't appear to be very much food, but it was actually quite filling and delicious. The dining room is large, with easy to find seating in the family-style tables. The service is one where you order at a a counter and then take it to the table; there is no table service like in a traditional restaurant. Stopped by this cute little place on our walk and was immediately greeted with such a kind staff. The smell alone was so good it was hard to order because everything is right in front of you. I came to pick up a order for a food delivery platform, I came back because they were missing one item. I believe the owner spoke to me and kept denying it , saying he put everything in the bag. I had to call the client in front of him and prove it . He TOOK my phone away to speak to the client with the gloves he was handling food with, Then proceeds making food for clients which is VERY UNSANITARY & RUDE. The food here is always delicious if you like Indian, consistent and tasty! My favorite part is the fresh cooked Naan bread in their traditional cooking "barrels", neat to watch it being made. We've had a lot of Indian food in our lives, though this is the first time we've had "fast food" Indian and the experience, overall, was not our favorite. We're used to ordering and sharing dishes at a sit-down Indian place so we were looking for guidance from the staff member on how to order here and he, we think, steered us in the wrong direction. My wife and I both ended up getting Masala Bowls (A single dish over rice). The Saag Paneer and Yellow Daal. It was too much of both. We easily could have shared a single "Bombay Plate" which comes with 2 entrees, rice and salad, and had plenty to eat. OR we could have just ordered sides of what we wanted. On top of which the food wasn't particularly good. The Saag Paneer (which is my litmus test at Indian places) was good enough although not anything to write home about. The Yellow Dal was way too salty and my wife didn't want to eat much of it as a result. I also had a vegetable samosa which was fine, but again nothing particularly special. The air conditioning doesn't work and it's been awfully warm here in L.A. so it wasn't particularly comfortable dining in there either. The staff member let me know it had been out since early summer. :/ If you're in a hurry and you're looking for Indian, this place might do the job but I wouldn't expect anything too memorable. read more

We stopped here while walking the stars and looking for a restroom. It smelt delicious and we were able to use the restroom if we bought something which was awesome. Food is always amazing. I will not be dinging them down on that. But paying over $15 for a bowl with rice and five pieces of small chicken pieces is not ok. They were little chunks of chicken. The worker filled it more with the stew than the chicken itself. I ordered with my friend and his bowl had a generous amount of protein while mine had the 5. Literally. I didn't complain or say anything because I knew it would be more of a cost, but if I ordered it together and one has more than the other, there is something wrong and shouldn't be charged extra. It was still amazing. The taste is still there and I would definitely come back again and absolutely recommend, but they should be consistent with the portions. read more
