    Michelada tecate

We ordered fish tacos, shrimp tacos and a shrimp tostada with cucumber. My hubby got a Michelada with tecate and he liked it! I gave this restaurant a 4 star because the shrimp wasnt as fresh as I would like and the fish tacos weren't as crispy as I would like them. However it's a good place to stop. Parking is out in the back.

Ordered one fish taco and a small shrimp cocktail. The fish in the fish taco is breaded and deep fried, and while I've had more flavorful fish tacos, this one was good. When I first saw that each taco was $3.50, I almost didn't order it. But turns out, they're pretty much the size of a full-on burger. The shrimp cocktail was pretty straight forward, and delicious. Think Clamatos (tomato juice) with pico de gallo, red onions, a lime and a celery stick. You also receive complimentary chips and salsa, and they were delicious. Now, I forgot to pay at the end. You order at the front, then take a number and sit down. Then you receive your food. Then you pay at the front as you leave the restaurant. For some reason, I was in fast casual mode and forgot that I hadn't paid for my meal when I ordered. After my meal, I simply got up, and left. LOL. Thankfully, when I called them when I got home, they were understanding and everything worked it out.

If you want BOMB seafood eat here. Super authentic. Expect The music to be in Spanish. But our cashier was perfectly Bilingual and explained the menu well! (Menu is in Spanish) Order then grab your table. Big portions and the salsa has the perfect amount of heat! I ordered shrimp ceviche (2 tostadas) which tasted creamy, sour and salty! Perfect for ceviche! I also ordered the fish tacos. The batter was thick and delicious. They did a Mother's Day raffle and gave away three $20 Gift cards and free cake! SO AWESOME! They really take care of you and are so friendly and Accommodating! I'll be bringing friends and family back with me.

Amazing fresh seafood. Plates are huge and very friendly staff. Try the scallops or healthy ceviche!! My favorite drink hear is the michelada. Dine in or take out. They are open!!!

Came here recommended by a friend and Im glad I did. I love their shrimp ceviche! Actually its the only thing I've gone here, I'll eventually get something else off the menu. Ate here 2 times now and I love the place. It seats about 30 people and is a small place but don't let that take account for how good the food is. The portions are larger and is perfect for me because I always want to take some home. The shrimp ceviche comes with a few tostadas so expect to leave full!

The mixed ceviche and aguachiles were delicious!! I am very particular and picky with the flavors I enjoy in my seafood and this little gem definitely satisfied my cravings. Service was quick and employees were very friendly. Clean restaurant and quality seafood. Definitely recommend!!

Very good! Not what I expected and wasn't in store for. I ordered the shrimp ceviche and fried tacos, thinking it would be the right amount of food. The taco is huge with two pieces of fried fish, it was delicious though. And I couldn't finish my ceviche. Definitely try this cute small place out, you won't be disappointed and the salsa is so good.

    The chill is good

Well the day finally arrived and I opted for takeout. I went with the "Make Your Own Seafood Combo" seafood boil and went with: - Shrimp (head-off) .5 lb - Snow Crab Legs .5 lb - Lobster Tail 6 oz You receive one corn and one potato with this particular combo. You can substitute the potato for an additional corn, and vice versa. You also can add on additional at an extra fee. You get several sauce choices along with spice level preference. I settled on Cajun with Fire (which is supposed to be the spiciest/hottest but I found it to be the weakest out of all the seafood boil restaurants that I've tried). Was definitely more medium spice level than the HOTTEST that I requested. The snow crab legs and lobster tail were both delicious and had a lot of meat to be found in both. The shrimp didn't seem to be cooked very well. Even after peeling and taking off the tails it was still quite a bit crunchy. I had requested utensils/napkins, and absolutely nothing was received (so I thanked God I had visited Red Lobster previously and they had given me a reusable plastic crab leg cracker with my previous meal there) otherwise I would have been stumped cracking legs all night long! For the prices at Hook & Reel Cajun Seafood, I really was not that impressed. The fact they only give you one corn (I couldn't care less for the one red potato) and the fact they don't include any utensils or napkins (as this meal is VERY messy) is a complete turn off because the restaurant can definitely afford to compensate. Overall I'd rate them a 3.5, but since that's not possible, I'll round up to a 4 as the lobster tail and snow crab legs were delicious.

Even in 90-degree-weather days, the coolness from the fountains splashing and numerous nearby trees and bushes make the experience very pleasant with even a slight breeze. The entrees are reasonably priced and very tempting, it's a challenge to choose what to eat. My suggestion? Give the wait staff an idea of your favorites and ask them to make a suggestion. Both times I've been here, I ordered what they suggested and it was amazing. The seafood, sauces and flavors are elegant and well executed. They have lots of options for seafood lovers and those who love it less. On my latest trip, I got the Prawn Scampi. The spaghettini noodles were cooked al dente, the butter garlic sauce was delicious, and when you combined them with a grape tomato, a part of the asparagus heart, and one of the prawns it was a taste symphony! We visited on a Sunday and were charged full dinner price, even though it was lunchtime--but most of what was available felt like leftover lunch items. The food was cold, dried out, and honestly not appetizing at all. The meat was especially tough and hard to chew, which made it even worse. The biggest letdown was the crab legs. We were repeatedly told they'd be out in "10 minutes," but we waited over 30 minutes. When they finally brought some out, there was barely anything--just a few pieces--and they were gone almost instantly. Definitely not what was advertised. The restaurant itself was clean, but it felt pretty rundown and not well maintained. Several food areas were empty, including desserts, and the drink machines were nearly out or barely working. As I was getting ready to leave, I went to the bathroom to wash my hands and walked in and it was disgusting. It smelled like throw up, and it looked like somebody had thrown up. One of the most frustrating parts was the drinks. As soon as you sit down, they immediately come to your table and ask what you want to drink, which makes it seem like it's included--but sodas are actually charged separately. It felt very misleading, so just be aware of that. Overall, the whole experience felt disappointing and poorly managed. We will not be returning and would not recommend this place.
