Nonetheless, my wife and I were warmly greeted by staff. They explained their menu options, gave us time to decide and we ordered at the register. We sat ourselves to a nice quiet spot, our order arrived in short time. Food was fresh, delicious, and well portioned. I gave this restaurant a 4 star because the shrimp wasnt as fresh as I would like and the fish tacos weren't as crispy as I would like them. However it's a good place to stop. Ordered one fish taco and a small shrimp cocktail. The fish in the fish taco is breaded and deep fried, and while I've had more flavorful fish tacos, this one was good. When I first saw that each taco was $3.50, I almost didn't order it. But turns out, they're pretty much the size of a full-on burger. The shrimp cocktail was pretty straight forward, and delicious. Think Clamatos (tomato juice) with pico de gallo, red onions, a lime and a celery stick. You also receive complimentary chips and salsa, and they were delicious. Now, I forgot to pay at the end. You order at the front, then take a number and sit down. Then you receive your food. Then you pay at the front as you leave the restaurant. For some reason, I was in fast casual mode and forgot that I hadn't paid for my meal when I ordered. After my meal, I simply got up, and left. LOL. If you want BOMB seafood eat here. Super authentic. Expect The music to be in Spanish. But our cashier was perfectly Bilingual and explained the menu well! (Menu is in Spanish) Order then grab your table. Big portions and the salsa has the perfect amount of heat! I ordered shrimp ceviche (2 tostadas) which tasted creamy, sour and salty! Hole-in-the-wall near 31st street, very authentic Mexican seafood that took us back to the little seafood shacks on the beaches outside Puerto Vallarta. The owners were so great. The guy at the register can help you decide what to get. Menu is in Spanish, but there are photos of everything. This was the first place we have found augachiles in Utah (shaved shrimp cooked by marinating in chile-spiked lime juice -- like ceviche -- with avocado and cucumber, scooped up with tostadas or saltines). Raw oysters on the half shell were HUGE, and at the best price I've found in Utah, $1.50/each. Only one variety, of course, but they were shucked properly and tasty with lime and Cholula. Chips and salsa were complimentary and tasty, and those little shots (about juice-glass size, not shot glass size) are a non-alcoholic Clamato concoction with seafood in the bottom (raw oyster/octopus/and something else, one type of seafood in each) drink. The "small" shrimp cocktail for $7.50 was gigantic and so good. They also have fish tacos and fried whole fish (mojarra) on the menu. There is not ONE non-seafood item on the menu except chips and salsa, so this is a place for seafood lovers like me. I'll be back! read more

If I could give this place a negative star I would not because of the food but because of the service. I ordered a large shrimp seviche over the phone guy said it would be 20-30 min and it would be ready I asked if it was the $15.xx large ceviche, guy said yes... I sent my friend for the "large shrimp ceviche" and she came back with 2 octopus/shrimp coctails.. and paid $15 each?! She said to the man. "This is not what he ordered" and he said yes.. yes it is. So she paid $30+ for something I didn't order! I called back, no answer. We ate the food it was fine, but I'm very disappointed in the level of service provided here. It does not got more realier than this!! El Pariente's "mariscos" is as good as it is going to get on this side of "The Wall". I have spent most of this year in Mexico and was amazed to find seafood that is actual tastier, craftier, and prettier than anything I found in Mexico. The texture of the food (if that is even a thing that i reviewed was better than anything i had ever had). I would put this place right next to the great Seafood restaurants of Mazatlan. I went there twice and had the aguachile and "Viagra" Seafood Cocktail (cold seafood soup). I know spice is not a welcome flavor in Utah, so most I believe most people will find these in-house recipes suitable for local consumption (except for the aguachile which is supposed to be spicy by default.
