Last night I took my kids to go watch the game and eat some food at this place but wow was it awful , first our server Julian seem lost like he didn't even know where he was at,didn't know anything didn't care to make us aware of the "special menu" they had because of the colombian game that was playing. Then he over charge us even tho he forgot half of our order , then I was told I couldn't order any regular menu because of the game then before we were leaving I see tables getting serve regular menu.i called the manager her response was I gave them the okay because I decided who can get it and who can't plus they weren't here to watch the game I was like wow okay. The food we order was a platter for 4 which apparently for game menu was $80 dollars and it was cold and the it seem like it was seating out for days,also order a bandeja 1 because apperantly we weren't aloud to order anything else and 4 buckets of beer and all this came up to $467 dollars. I just want to make this very clear it isnt about the money is about how we were treated and how the food was so disgusting and the manager didn't even care to knowledge how upset we were also she try to offer us some dessert before we left which by the time I was already more upset and overwhelmed, but yea we won't be returning here again and also we won't recommend this place either,how expensive it is the food isn't good and definitely the services are horrible.. read more

Oh my we stumbled upon this place. We speak zero Spanish which we thought could be an issue but it was not. Every bit of our experience was amazing! The place itself was very clean and cute. We went between lunch and dinner and we were seated quickly. We ordered the corn cake with cheese and the avocado stuffed with shrimp for appetizers. They were so good! And I do not even like corn meal! I had the red sangria and my husband had a Long Island ice tea. He was worried about the drink when the bartender was reading the a recipe card - but he enjoyed it. I ordered the steak salad and he had one of the combo platters. Even despite the language barrier the service was great. We really enjoyed our experience and so glad we Tried something new. I like Columbian food so I decided to try this place. Well Walking in, no one speaks to you. The servers just walk past you without asking do you need help or anything. I was able to stop someone and ask if there was a wait and she said it's an 1hr and a half wait. So of course I decided to wait because I'm curious on the taste of this food. At first glance I thought maybe it's full because of the food, but after continuing looking around no one was eating. People were just taking up tables watching the game lodging in the seats. What type of restaurant allows this? I can understand if you're eating and watching the game but just to be taking up seats just to watch a game and not ordering anything boggles me. Well I waited and decided to order a drink while I wait. This kola I ordered has a very bad after taste. Very very loud inside. Finally got a table after an hour and the waiter was nice. Even though it was super loud with the music, it was very nice to listen too. But conversation at the table could not happen because of the live DJ music so we just danced in our seats until the food came out. I ordered a strawberry daiquiri non alcoholic and it was tasteful with a slight fruit after taste but no bad. Chicken is dry. The shrimp had a fishy taste and no seasoning. I always noticed this place driving by to and from the Orange County Convention Center. It is on International Drive on a strip mall. Lots of parking right in front. After a late night at the convention center, we wanted to just sit down, have a cocktail (or 2) and a bite to eat. We didn't have much options since it was late and most places were closed or would be closing soon. I checked the hours for Aguardiente and they were open til 10pm that night . There were still a good amount of patrons in the restaurant when we got there but were seated immediately. The ambiance was more like a restaurant/bar setting. Lots of big screen TV's. It was a bit on the louder side but manageable. While deciding what to order, we noticed while looking around that many tables were ordering a dish which was heaping of food. After inquiring from our waitress, we were told it was the Picada. There were 2 types of Picada and you have a choice of size for either 2 or 4 people. The amount of food for the Picada for 2 was HUGE. It came with several items such as steak, chicken, sausage, plantains, yuca. It was served with a pico de gallo. We also had the Lomo De Res Salteado which was a steak dish in a savory broth with some red onions, tomatoes, bell peppers and green onions. It was delicious and also a big portion. It came with fries (which was added to the same plate with the steak and broth so I would recommend asking for it on the side so it doesn't get soggy -unless y'all like it that way!) in addition to the fries, it came with 2 more sides. We also ordered the empanada appetizers. Good amount to share and tasty! The food was excellent, the portions were huge. We all had take home boxes for our left overs. Colombian food is definitely one of our go to's, especially with the Colombian other half in the family. We were originally looking for some sancocho or Ajiaco which are Colombian stews/soups. They did not have it here, but we figured we would try their steaks since that's in their name. We ordered the picada for two. We have had this many times at different Colombian Restaurants. Here they cut everything up in pieces, and stack it up to look extra mountainous like the mountains in Colombia. This looks pretty eye catching, yes, but with cutting it up, it loses it's hot temperatures. When we received the food it was luke warm, and soon became cold. This picada which includes chicken, steak, sausage, morcilla, tostones, fried bananas, and white arepa are smoked and have no other flavor, but a smoked flavor. This flavor is not appetizing for either of us. We ate some none the less and have the rest for leftovers. We all know that Latinos love their music and that's why we came here as well. The music was not good and the singer was muffled like his mouth was too close to the microphone as if he was eating the microphone. It wasn't pleasing and entertaining. This place ended up full inside and out with groups of family and friends and everyone enjoyed their company. I don't think they could hear their own conversations because it was too loud. Their drinks looked good and eye worthy, but I didn't have one. I don't live close and I know for sure we wouldn't be back. Lastly, our service was okay. This place used to be called Rancho Mateo and now is call Aguardiente Colombian Steak House..... don't know the reason why is changed, is has the same concept as before, small changes are visible such the menu now is condensed, before the menu was very large and honestly I rather this one, it's easy and has everything you need from the authentic Colombian cuisine. The other change is the look inside the restaurant, it used to have a spade in the middle where they had a band show on the weekend, now that spaced is filled with more tables and. This place was right across the street from my hotel and I didn't want to take Uber so the short five minute walk was perfect. It was Sunday night and plenty of table seating but I sat at the bar with the friendly locals. The bartender did not speak English but we were able to communicate with the help of the other patrons. Everyone was very nice and the restaurant got busy as the evening went on. They did not have music that night but I bet it could be loud as other yelpers had mentioned. The owner was very kind and checked on us a lot and made sure we were happy with everything. The drinks were good and the food was too. I was craving salmon and it was well prepared. We tried the highly recommended seafood sauce and it did not disappoint. I would not exactly call this a steakhouse, but authentic tasty food, a relaxed atmosphere and a fun indoor/outdoor bar.
