I had a great experience at Black Angus Steakhouse in Goodyear. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making it a perfect spot for a relaxed dinner. The steak was cooked perfectly--tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The sides were also delicious and complemented the meal very well. The service was friendly and attentive throughout the visit. Our server made sure everything came out on time and checked in regularly to see if we needed anything. The restaurant was clean and comfortable, which made the overall dining experience even better. I can't help but admit that I'm slightly disappointed with this restaurant. To start, we made reservations for 6:30. We arrived at 6:33 pm (obviously late on our part), checked in, but we didn't end up getting seated until 6:58. I understand that we were late, but it made me question the validity of the reservation to start. Once seated, we were greeted by our waitress and our order was taken. We ordered the Spinach artichoke dip, house salad, New York Strip, Salmon, Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans, and the mac and cheese. Out of this entire lineup, the only item that stuck out as "above-average" was the steak. Everything seemed to lack flavor, and that "wow" factor. Granted, it is more of an affordable steakhouse, so I guess you get what you pay for. The restaurant itself was mostly clean. Some of the seating seemed pretty worn, but the tables were sturdy. Came here for dinner and ordered the prime rib and baked potato and steak soup. The steak soup wasn't as I remembered. It used to be barley based but wasn't and I don't remember it having corn. The soup was like having Progresso and the steak was slightly chewy. The prime rib was good, no complaints about that. Nice meal altogether. read more

Our family had a poor experience eating here tonight... might not come back. 1) They sat us right next to the bathrooms. Gross. Nobody wants to smell that. 2) We had a problem with an incomplete meal. Someone other than our waitress delivered the food, and she never came back. 3) Our waitress was delayed in checking on us and our food so the bad meal could not be fixed until our family had pretty much eaten. 4) I'm vegetarian and ate the baked potato soup that had chicken broth as a base. We decided to come here for The Campfire Feast for 2 for $69 & bring it home for takeout, with everything that you get you can't beat the value! Once we unpacked everything I was pleased with all that we got. We upgraded to the appetizer sampler for an extra $6 & everything tasted great for traveling 20 minutes... the potatoes were some of the best & the zucchini were some of my favorites too. My husband got his steak medium rare & it traveled well, when he cut into it the temp was perfect. My salmon was good although it was a bit on the dry side but that's okay because the macaroni and cheese made up for that! We finished off with the carrot cake because it's always moist & it's never disappointing! This update is to thank the crew that worked Thanksgiving Day. This was the first year that we've gone out for Thanksgiving and the experience was really nice. Thank goodness we had a reservation, because they were slammed! We were seated within 10 minutes of our reservation time and were lucky enough to have Liz as our server. She had a huge workload and still managed to do a stellar job attending to us. And despite the relentless onslaught of people, she managed to do so with a smile. This lady has the best attitude and was a real pleasure to spend our meal with. My wife opted for the Thanksgiving dinner. It came complete with turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, broccoli & yams. And a nice slice of pumpkin pie to top it off. Here's the good part. They also offered steak on their special menu. I had the prime rib and lobster tails. All of the food was all good. This was my first visit to a Black Angus. We made a reservation for two ahead of time (just to be safe since it was a Saturday evening at 7 PM). I started with a glass of red wine from the menu--nothing fancy, but I quickly realized I'm probably just not a wine person . Our waitress was super kind and swapped it out for a cocktail she recommended, which ended up being much better. For appetizers, we ordered the potato skins, and they also brought complimentary bread and butter to the table. Prices were fair overall. My grilled chicken with two sides came to $27 ($23 base, plus a $3.50 upcharge for the loaded mac and cheese). My husband ordered a steak for $40, which also came with two sides--one being the same loaded mac and cheese with the upcharge. When the waitress checked my ID for the drink, she noticed my birthday was just a few days away and surprised us with a warm pizookie and ice cream after dinner, complete with a candle! Such a sweet gesture. The ambiance, though... was interesting. The décor had a western theme, the music was random pop hits, and the seat fabric gave off major 90's bowling alley vibes. Think somewhere between an Applebee's and a Chili's. We stayed for about an hour and a half. The total was $103 before tip. I had signed up for their rewards program, which gives you a $10 welcome offer, but we decided to use my 15% military discount instead, bringing the bill to $88. Not bad for an appetizer, a cocktail, and two entrees with upgraded sides. Yesterday was Mother's Day and my hubby wanted to take me somewhere special. I chose Black Angus and I'm so glad I did. We had an amazing server, Anais, who made us comfortable and not rushed. She had a beautiful smile on her face throughout our entire meal. If I could give her 10 stars I would. She was pleasant and watchful throughout our entire experience. The meal was extraordinary. We started with Calamari as a starter (a little overdone and hard to chew) (we didn't complain and ate it anyway) but the rest of our meal was completely out of this world. I had Prime Rib and Lobster. Hubby had steak and lobster. My baked potato was fluffy and baked to perfection and the broccoli was cooked just like I like it. The prime rib was "an experience", medium rare .. exactly done right and the lobsters were divine. Then our dear server presented us with a hot cookie with ice cream. If I could relive this experience I would. The atmosphere is wonderful, warm and comfy. The cloth napkins are always appreciated. What a wonderful Mother's Day it was!! If I could give -5 stars I would. Where to start??? We were told it was a 30 min wait- it was actually 1 hour to be exact. Mind you the restaurant was more than half empty. Then another 20 minutes to take the order. The host took our order because the waitress showed up to take out order 5 minutes later after the host had already taken it. And another 20 minutes before our food came out. The food was just ok; nothing to die for. We were never asked if we wanted refills or anything. We actually wanted a desert but nope, the waitress came out with our check without asking if we were going to order anything else. I don't think I have ever experienced such a bad service. Made a reservation for Black Angus (via OpenTable) for 7:30 on 2/22/26. Arrived just before 7:30 and the hostess acknowledged our reservation and said it would be a few minutes before we were seated. No problem. Thought we'd get a drink at the bar while waiting to be seated but there was no bartender. Stepped back into the lobby. There was another group ahead of us waiting to be seated. We waited 35 minutes (by which time there were 7 or 8 groups waiting to be seated). The restaurant was near empty, there was lots of takeout going out the door, but none of us waited to be seated were ever offered a table. The lobby area and dining area just off the lobby were both noticeably dirty (not lack of cleaning for the day but long term deeply imbedded dirt). After waiting over 35 minutes to be seated with no update or acknowledgement that they knew we were still waiting to be seated, I canceled our reservation on OpenTable and we went elsewhere for dinner. This place needs serious attention by their management and / or corporate team. read more

I placed an online pickup order that was supposed to be ready at 6:36 PM. I arrived at 6:40 and wasn't acknowledged while the hostess focused on her computer. After I gave her my name, she said she'd check on it, but five minutes later she hadn't, and had to ask for my name again because she forgot it (and never even checked on it during that time). She eventually went to the back and came out saying it would be another 10 minutes. At that point it was already 10min past the promised pickup time, and the restaurant wasn't busy at all. I didn't receive my food until 7:00 PM. 25 minutes late for a simple pickup order. Then it got worse. When I got home, I realized my fries were missing entirely. I called and said I was heading back to pick them up. You'd think they would make sure to have them ready for me, right? I returned five minutes later and was then told the fries weren't ready yet! I waited another five minutes just to get fries that should have been included in the original order! I spoke with the manager and she gave me a $30 gift card which didn't even cover what I paid for my meal! Wouldn't you want to at least reimburse me for what I paid? We've been here before, but it's been a very long time, since we don't live in the area. We were driving nearby and decided to go in for a nice dinner. It wasn't quite 5pm, so the dinner crowd wasn't there, yet. When we left, there were some people waiting for tables. We decided to go with the Campfire For 2 meal, which is $69. You get to choose a starter, 2 entrees, 4 sides and a dessert. What a great deal!! We started with the Loaded Potato Skins (which in hindsight wasn't a great idea, I'll explain a little later). But, other than them being too "potatoey"...LOL, they were pretty good. For our entrees, both hubby and I went with the Ribeye (which is one of the few entrees listed that there's an upcharge for, which was an additional $6 each). My 2 sides were Mashed Potatoes and Roasted Green Beans, hubby's sides were a Loaded Baked Potato and Broccoli. If you didn't notice, we both ended up getting potatoes for our sides, which made that a lot of potato eating for us (including the potato skins...in the future, we'll probably go with a different starter). Both our steaks were cooked a perfect medium, they were flavorful, tender and juicy. And, the sides were fine accompaniments to our steaks. We were pretty full by this time, but we did have a dessert included with our meal. So, we went with the Chocolate Chip Cookie w/Vanilla Ice Cream. OMG!! The large cookie is baked in a tin with the ice cream slowly melting and it was heavenly! It was gooey and warm and comforting and absolutely delicious. It was the perfect ending to our meal. Our waitress was so friendly and the service was on point. We really shouldn't wait so long to come back here. If we're back in the general area again, we'll definitely head in for another lovely meal. read more

It's been a long time sense we have eaten here again. The service is always really good. I wasn't to pleased this time. The soup served was barely warm ? And the steaks looked more like it was boiled then flame broiled ? The taste for the steak was maybe a 5 out of 10. I'm a little biased because I've been going there so long that I know the crew and managers. However, I've been going there because of them. I typically go at lunch or happy hour because it's a better deal, and I feel as though it's faster during the day. The zucchini are my favorite appetizer, but the prime rib is delicious, and for a restaurant they do a decent mac & cheese. I'm more of a at home mac & cheese kind of woman, but if I had to get one from a chain restaurant, theirs is decent. The GM is a lovely lady named Alice. I definitely say hit it up for lunch, too expensive for dinner unless you're doing a Groupon with the campfire feast for two. read more

I was looking for a nice place to have dinner for tonight and I ended up stumbling across this place and decided to give it a try. I walked in and had to wait around 10 minutes for a table. I thought if it was this busy, it might as well be very good as other restaurants in this area which are very impressive with no wait at all. First impressions are alright, with the building looking a bit old and having an old-fashioned bar feel. We got sat down and immediately asked my drink. The waitresses are nice enough, but a little careless. I ordered the hazy ipa beer and a mocktail that looked appetizing. I went to the restroom, and it looked a bit concerning and dirty. I got back and the drinks still haven't arrived. I waited a bit more and it still did not arrive. In the end it took 10 minutes for my beer and my mocktail to arrive which surprised me at how poor and slow the service was and was pretty absurd. Now the mocktail was in fact pretty good and looked great. But the beer though, it was in a can and poured it in my cup. At first, the taste was a bit weird. I thought nothing of it until I read the can, and it said non-alcoholic. I was utterly shocked in a bad way. How can this big of a restaurant mess up something as small as serving the wrong beer? I of course notified the waiter and said they were out of the beer. I was pretty upset, but things happen, so I still gave it a chance. I ordered the campfire feast and for the appetizer I ordered the wagyu dumplings. Honestly, this caught me off guard because this was a very good dish. It was savory and fresh with a little bit of sweetness, but low in quantity. next up was the steak itself. I ordered the new york strip steak and the ribeye with some sides I forgot. The steaks were done medium, and it was little bit rubbery and the ribeye had a lot of fat in it. The strip steak was very chewy with not much juice, and although the ribeye was alright with a smoky flavor, it can't justify the amount of fat on the steak. The sides though, were pretty horrendous, and was memorable in the worst way possible. It had no flavor and it was not satisfying to chew on or eat. I had not high hopes for the remaining dish, the dessert, and honestly, it was not bad being the large cookie with ice cream on top. The cookie was hot and the ice cream was cold giving an interesting combination. Overall, I get this is a budget steakhouse, but I wouldn't recommend people going here. I think this is the problem with chain restaurants being unpredictable, but I think it's fine if you don't expect much. read more

Luck of the draw with our server Lilly she was fantastic. We were celebrating a Birthday and decided to go to Black Angus. We made reservations for our group of Five. We showed up On Time and we're seated immediately. Everyone ordered steaks and when Lilly ask if they were cooked to the correct temp everyone agreed their steak was as requested. All our meals were yummy and just what we wanted. I had my filet mignon topped with the blue cheese and it was worth the extra cost. Our sides were tasty and the Cream Brûlée was fantastic. Then the bill came... 5 adults; we had the Wagon Wheel appetizer Plate, 2 desserts no alcohol all for $180 plus $40 tip. Can't beat the Campground feast meal deal. It's been around for a long time, kind of a fixture in Arizona, but they just keep doing a great job. We're on their email list which is the best way to catch the deals, and ran into one this weekend that was BOGO...buy one entree, get the second free. Great deal!!! So, I had the NY steak, my favorite, and my wife had the salmon and shrimp, and they were both very good.
