My wife and I have been going to Ahi Sushi for a while now and I can honestly say it is our favorite sushi place to go to. The food is great. It always looks and tastes amazing. The atmosphere is nice. And, they also have the best employees. They are very nice and attentive even on their busy nights. They even remember I have a food allergy, which may say we go there too often, but can't help going to such a great place. Tried Ahi Sushi for the first time tonight with my daughter. I will say what absolutely gives this place a 5 star review is their great service. Everybody was friendly, food came out quickly and they went out of the way to make sure you were always taken care of and doing great. My daughter is a very picky, slow eater (she is 6yrs old) and they didn't rush us out. My daughter ate her whole chicken teriyaki plate! (So unusual for my daughter, she normally won't eat a full portion alone) when I asked her what she thought she said she loved it! I didn't order much this time since it was just us two but when we come back with my husband I will update the review. Got a Hawaiian roll tonight. I would rate it a 8/10 which is very good in bakersfield! Portion was good. They were not skimpy on the tuna like many places are. Quality of the tuna was pretty good. Only thing that brought my rating down for it slightly is there was a ponzu based sauce on it and there was a little bit too much of it on there. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed, clean and very inviting. Didn't take many pictures of our food but we had a great experience, will be back. read more

My boyfriend and I have been coming here since it opened and we've absolutely loved it every time. Everything about this place is amazing; the service- you can't get better anywhere else. The staff is SUPER friendly and they recognize regulars and remember their preferences (one of many reasons to become a regular). The food is obviously absolutely amazing. We usually get complimentary miso soup and it is always perfect. I'm pretty picky about my miso soup. One of our favorites is definitely the Cajun roll, but we've never had anything we didn't like here- seriously! Lastly, the ambiance is great. Super clean and an updated, modern look; music is pleasant and at just the right volume; great vibes overall here. Everyone seems happy- customers and workers. It's a great place to be! We were greeted by Gina. She's so energetic and friendly. We ordered the Ahi Cajun, Alaska, and Baked salmon rolls. As we waited for our rolls to be prepared, Gina brought over some gyoza and miso soup. The gyoza was so crispy and delicious. The miso soup was amazing. Our rolls came out beautiful. The fish is so fresh and the rolls were cut perfectly. We asked Gina to recommend another roll to us because the food was so great. She recommended the Popcorn lobster roll and it was amazing. The lobster was crispy and the sauce on top of the roll was the right amount. It didn't make the roll soggy at all. We were so stuffed at the end, we didn't have room for any dessert. We were warmly greeted upon entering by the very friendly staff. We ordered spicy garlic edamame and it was great! very delicious. We ordered the Baja tempura roll and a spicy Scallop roll. Both were good and fresh. Scallop roll was quite small compared to other places. Additionally, I was hoping they'd have fresh oysters on their menu but they don't.
