The food is so good it's fresh and it's delicious. I feel like it's over priced for what we are getting. They give you a little bit of food and it's over priced. Replying to aaron P's review and hope they take this into consideration because just wow! How can they let a person like that run as a manager. Very disappointing. My younger sister and I have been coming to poki for a while because other than the manager the food is good. Antonio always seems to be a flirtatious type towards the younger women.. or even any women in general. There are levels to being nice, but he is just weird!! He asks way to many questions, when in reality i just want my food. I didnt want to comment anything before because it seems like the higher ups wouldn't do anything since they will always believe the manager! Last time my sister went in to get a bowl and of course he was there and helped her, he started off as being cool but than the more my sister was compliant and responding because she didn't want to be rude he started asking further questions that were not food related.. than he proceeded to ask her for her age?? Like why would that matter!! hes an older guy that looks like hes about to hit 40 asking my sister for her age . Once my sister said she was 19 , he smiled and said "ohh okay, thats a good age".. a good age for what?? She told me she felt uncomfortable and that it wasn't the first time. and I really hope the higher ups take this into consideration and really see who their manager is because it seems like they all fall for his sweet talk. My review for this place is mainly based on the quality of the fish. I didn't find that it was fresh at all - I tried both the salmon and the tuna and didn't like either. They were both tough and flavorless. Another issue I had with this place was they put my bowl into a plastic bag without even asking and gave me both a fork and chopsticks. If a company still feels inclined to use plastic bags, I would at least hope they would ask the customer prior. They should also ask if the customer prefers chopsticks or a fork - you obviously don't need both (or in some cases neither since many people may be taking it straight home!). The three stars I am giving this place though is for everything else, including the serving sizes and the topping selection. read more

Quick Review: Solid 4.5 stars. Not 5 stars due to the prices to portioning. Full Review: While shopping at Ikea I decided that I did not want any Swedish Meatballs and instead wanted to see what was nearby to eat. There quiet a bit of restaurants in the area, but who can turn down Poki? Parking is easy to find as is the restaurant itself as it is straight across the street from the Ikea entrance and exit. The restaurant is clean and the staff is really friendly and willing to help explain any questions you may have. One of the first things I noticed was the prices for their bowls. A small is $9something and a large is $11something. That is about $1-2 dollars more for each size compared to most other poke/poki spots. They have some interesting already made combinations here such as Tuna Luau (tuna, avocado, garlic sauce, onions) and kimchi shrimp (shrimp, kimchi sauce, onions and cucumber). I asked for a scoop of each of these and will say that they are both very good! I also got a scoop of shrimp and mixed it with spicy mayo, cucumber, green and white onions, and edamame. I topped off my bowl with Masago, chili flakes, furikake and fried onion chips. This was one of the more enjoyable bowls of poke I've ever had hands down. All the different flavors made it so your bowl of poki does not feel redundant. Having the 2 custom combinations (tuna luau and kimchi shrimp) + the shrimp with spicy mayo made it seem like I had three small bowls of poki as they all had their distinct flavors. For 2 bowls + 1 drink it was a total of $27 and change. That is quiet high for poki places, so make sure you bring plenty of cash and or your cards. read more

I got a salad base, yellowtail and tuna (fresh but not a lot), house sauce (too salty maybe ask for the light version), and most toppings. It made me so sad to see that I only got like three strings of seaweed salad and the flattest looking clear container I've ever seen. I understand businesses are operating under different rules and trying to do their best. However, rudeness and customer service should not be compromised under any conditions because just like they're struggling so it's the customer. First of all, you do not take out 3 pieces of lettuce in front of the customer because the new employee made a mistake in adding again 3 extra pieces of green lettuce. The edge of the counter had lots of finger abs hand prints that were visible from other customers prior to us. Yet, we were rudely told to remove our hands and move away from the glass. Furthermore, the lady ordering after us not only had her hands on the same counter but her entire upper body pressed against the glass and she didn't tell her anything. I believe this had to do with the message/writing on my mask that she might have not liked. But my simple solution is next time I want this type of food, I will go to another establishment and definitely not going back to this place. This is not the way you treat paying customers read more

The grilled unagi musubi is wonderful. It's composed of two pieces per order and it's warm, smoky and plenty enough to stop your hunger pangs. I've taken my order home and reheat it for 30 to 69 seconds in the microwave ( 60 seconds if the musubi has been in the fridge), and it's fine for dinner with a side of steamed vegetables. A new trend and one of the main dishes in Hawaiian cuisine has been popping up all over the place. You have your jokey poke,touch me and poke me and I even see the hokey poke,I mean really? This healthy and delicious raw sashimi based food form is simply choosing your own fish and putting it over salad or rice and dressing it up with your choice of toppings. I ordered a basic poke bowl on rice with salmon and tuna for starters. It was decent but I didn't like that they charge you a Hamilton for two baby scoops of fish. Maybe I should've got all of the extra toppings for that price but there goes the healthy portion of it. One item that stood out on their menu was their Ahiritto. Your choice of fish wrapped with rice and your choice of seaweed or soy paper. Something like a hand roll but in burrito form. Another item that was pretty decent was their unagi musubi. And yes, it's definitely healthier than spam. Overall the food was decent and the service was a little better. And that's my take on the whole hokey poke. Peace out read more

I got out of the gym and wanted something fresh and tasty... this place hit the spot and satisfied my cravings and gainz.

I'm in trouble, there's officially a poke spot that is within an easy driving distance to my office to be able to go there on my lunch break - and they take phone orders so now I can pick it up and take it back to my office even faster. Their scoops are a little bigger than many places. I typically get 3 scoops at places but was able to get away with the 2 scoop here. Would I would maybe get a 3 scoop if it was dinner and I was hungry. But the 2 scoop was perfect for lunch! They have all of the standard bases - white/brown rice and greens. I got the white rice. For my two proteins I chose the yellowtail and what they call the tuna luau. The tuna luau is tuna mixed with red onion, avocado, and garlic soy (I believe). It was SO GOOD! And since they do not include avocado as a topping this is a great way to have it in your bowl without paying extra. I would maybe even consider two scoops of that sometime but I'm such a yellowtail fan. Where some places put the sauces on top of everything they mix all of your protein, toppings and sauces in a bowl before dumping it over your base. I had the guy choose what sauces to do and whatever he did (a little of everything I'm pretty sure) was spicy and delicious. For my toppings they had all the typical basics - I had edamame, crab meat, ginger, green onions, red onions, and some sesame seeds on top to top it all off. Service was great and quick. I spent about $11.50 after the bowl and a diet Coke fountain beverage. I've had cheaper by a buck or two but the quality and service I think made it worth it. The quality is good but the portions are the smallest of any poke place I've ever been to. They literally counted out 5 cubes of tuna for one scoop, and the prices are higher now! AhiPoki is apparently the latest challenger to take on this CURSED location of a fast-casual shop. Through the years in this corner of the Eastland Plaza, Carl's Jr. has stayed a constant staple, WaBa's been around here for at least 5 or more years (so has Menchie's, I think), but the AhiPoki location has been home to at least a Qdoba (pre-2015), a Pizza Five85 (I reviewed this in 2015, noting it used to be Qdoba), and now an AhiPoki. To be fair, I also did a quick lookup and apparently this place has been around since late 2016? Dunno, I don't live here anymore. But we'll see how long it lasts. I think AhiPoki fulfills a niche in the community here; there aren't too many poke places around that I'm aware of, so good on that. However, they need bigger bowls. I got the large bowl and while it ended up fitting in their provided container, to do so they needed to compact everything in so basically there's no way of eating your bowl without spilling something out unless you're very, very careful. Just get a deeper bowl please. Quality-wise, I've had better. Poke's not a really special meal I think, but I think the difficulty of eating the food itself led to a sub-par experience for me. However, still fine to go here and probably will in the future. Around $13 for a large bowl (3 scoops). I don't think this is super worth the price for the area, but whatever, it's fine. Come here if you're in the burbs and want poke. read more

Meh. Pretty okay place to get your poke fix. Nothing stood out to me too much. We placed our orders at around 6:30pm, and the fish was alright. Not the most fresh, but satisfactory. The sauces were tasty and as a whole, the poke bowl was decent. For the $1.50 it cost to add avocado as a topping, I got four tiny chunks in my bowl which was totally not worth the add-on and completely different from the portion size of avocado I see in the photo of the poke bowl on their menu. Poke or poki?! How you spell it is the real question. I love trying different poke spots, but this place is definitely one of my favorites. Not only do you get amazing food, but amazing SERVICE! Yes this is very hard to find! Let's give the employees the spotlight! Beatrice and Carissa were the two employees working and they were amazing. They walked me step by step down the variety of fish, to the toppings and the sauce. They were very patient and ensured that I got the bowl the way I wanted (not a lot of places have the patience). The gave generous portions of fish, the sauce was not too salty (I got the house sauce), and the presentation was on point! Good job ladies! Onto the poke. The portions were generous. They didn't do the chipotle scoop (which is one oversized scoop and then shaking off pieces hanging from the scoop). The fish looked amazing, and there was tuna that was not a faded red color (beware of those). The sauce was not too salty. The MOST IMPORTANT part of this entire experience was that they mixed the fish, lettuce and all the toppings together. It was a great balance and I totally recommend asking them to do so.
