The sushi's here are great. The 3 stars is because I just feel that for a restaurant this busy, they should have more staff on board. I felt extremely bad for the two waiters and one waitress working the Friday night we were there. And then there were probably two chefs? When we got seated, about 15 minutes went by so we asked the waiter to take our orders. After we ordered, it took very long for our food to arrive. I don't blame this on the staff. Aside from the sushi's, I ordered the grilled chicken bento box for my son, and it was bland. The grilled chicken was dried. The edamame that came with it also looked dried. I tried one of their sake cocktails and it was actually really good. I recommend the Little Tokyo. It's like a pina colada. read more

Came here on a Saturday afternoon and luckily there was no wait time. One of the best sushi experiences I've had thanks to both the service and food. The menu is pretty extensive so there's options for everyone. I ordered the playmate roll which has spicy tuna, shrimp tempura, cilantro and lemon on the inside with avocado, seared tuna, seared albacore on top then drizzled with multiple sauces. I also got the Thats how it is roll which is avocado, albacore and cream cheese on the inside with tuna and salmon on top then finished with jalapeño salsa. The rolls were so good! Our server was super enthusiastic and gave us options on the best rolls she thought. Incredible experience overall and the inside is nice and looks like your standard sushi restaurant. After getting off my flight the first place we went to is here. My friend suggested this place cause it's a really good place. He even told me that a friend of his purposely drive an hour and a half to eat here. Well I got to admit, he's not wrong. Note: They do stop doing take out if it gets super busy and not enough staff. No take out even if you get there to order. They won't even pick up the phone. This is a cute restaurant with a decent amount of seating. The staff is very friendly. Now back to the sushi. The sushi here is super yummy. Not only yummy, but the names of the rolls are funny enough to spark an curiosity to order. The who's your daddy, turn me on and G string is very good. Just visiting Sacramento area and this was close to the hotel. It has high ratings but I personally think it's not over 4 stars. While our server was great and attentive the food needs to be elevated. It's very basic on my opinion. Value wise it is comparatively cheap but I rather pay extra for good sushi rolls. read more

My sister and I took our mom to the Berry Fest in Woodland on Saturday, then did some shopping in Rancho Cordova. It was in the 90s, and we were overheated and exhausted--just really needing a good dinner. I'm so glad we chose Aiko's! The moment we walked in, it was cool and refreshing inside. The atmosphere immediately helped us relax. Our server was absolutely fantastic--so friendly, attentive, and helpful with the menu. He made us feel comfortable asking questions, and even though the place was busy with multiple birthday celebrations, he stayed on top of everything. He kept drinks refilled, cleared plates quickly, and never missed a beat. We started with the vegetable tempura and the heart attack with is basically jalapeño poppers but with shrimp and spicy tuna. Both came out super hot and fresh--perfectly cooked and full of flavor. That tempura was one of the best I've had, with a great variety of veggies. Now, the sushi: I got the Smokey Aiko and absolutely loved the rich smoky aftertaste. My sister had the Lemon Crispy, which had this vibrant citrus flavor she really enjoyed. My mom ordered the Playmate, and honestly, I think that one was my favorite of the three. We all shared, and each roll had its own unique, mouthwatering flavor. This place was such a true gem. Sky sushi is hidden in a big parking lot close to Gangnam ave kbbq. Came with some friends since we were in the area. They had a sushi boat for 3-4 people for $78! What a steal!! We came here for dinner and ordered the lemon drop roll, superman roll, and philly roll. The lemon drop roll was kind of disappointing because the lemon slices they put in the roll is the zest part and barely any of the lemon. Most of the lemon piece is rind/zest/skin, and a tiny tiny part is the actual juicy part of the fruit, so instead of tasting citrusy with a zesty after taste the roll just tastes straight up bitter and very unpleasant. I've had plenty of rolls at other sushi restaurants with lemon in them (in fact even bigger slices of lemon than here) that have never tasted this bitter. The service was really slow, and the waiter didn't take our plates or anything after we finished. Overall, the food was okay, but the time we spent waiting for food, waiting for the check, waiting for service was not worth it. read more

The best sushi I have had all in all of Sacramento. Tried probably 30 places over the years and most places went downhill. Aiko is solid and consistent. You won't find better service anywhere and the prices are very fair for the quality. The fish is always super fresh. They do happy hour all day on Tuesdays and Sundays which is nice. Great drink options and rolls on the happy hour menu. Friendly staff, awesome food and good vibes. I usually don't do reviews, but I feel this place deserves some praise. read more

Nice sushi spot located off of sunrise. My friend and me decided to come here on a Sunday afternoon right when they opened, so there was obviously no wait lol! Our Waiter was super friendly and nice. He always made sure to check in with us to make sure everything was great or if we needed anything. Now onto the food. I love sushi (all kinds)! I'd say their ginger wasn't to good & they only offered us a small portion for 2 people. ( we had to share 1 tiny plate of ginger/wasabi, any other sushi spot i go to offers each person at the table their own separate tray of ginger/ wasabi or at least enough ginger for everyone. Id give their sushi a 5/10. It wasn't to bad but it wasn't the best. Their fish did taste fresh which was a plus but i don't know i honestly just wasn't feeling it .. I wasn't wowed. Got a bunch of rolls and nigiri as take-out from this sushi/Japanese location. Pickup was easy and fast - the team was courteous and had everything boxed up to go. Prices are reasonable and they offer bento boxes w/o raw fish in addition to all of the raw-uncooked standard Japanese nigiri/sashimi fare that you'd expect. Overall, the specialty rolls had a bit too much sauce for our liking, but the salmon and unagi nigiri and rolls were excellent. I think if the special rolls were a bit more delicate in their creation (less sauce, less frying, less cheese), they'd have a hit. Still very tasty and a great go-to local sushi place. read more

I've driven past this place a few times and decided to try it out after shopping at KP Market. I saw a review of the naked salmon and as a salmon sashimi lover, it was a must get. This one did NOT disappoint. It was a thick cut piece of salmon wrapped around imitation crab and avocado and was delectable. I highly recommend this dish if you visit. We also ordered "Let me take a selfie" which was an trip of flavors! The lemon flavor hit first but then you get an array of raw fish, unagi sauce, shrimp tempura, and a small kick from the jalapeño. This one tasted really good dipped in wasabi soy sauce. Lastly, the small sashimi plate! I'm not sure what kind of fish it was, but the one that was seared with a dried garlic chip was the best one. I wanted to add that our server was completely absent the entire time. After she dropped off our food, she didn't come back once to ask if we needed more water (which we needed) or ask if we needed anything else. She was at the back the entire time. However, Dominique, another server for the table next to us, was attentive and brought me a big bowl of extra ginger which I wanted, and refilled our waters. She was very kind and I really appreciated her paying attention to us. She also brought a birthday dessert for the table she was serving. Talk about service! Once again, another home run. What was formerly known as Sky Sushi, is now being run by the same Chef. My wife and I don't eat out often. Most restaurants are disappointing and disgust me with the lack of skills and overall poor performance. Marginal food, overpriced, shit service, and you leave wondering why you spent $200 on this avoidable shit show. Not here. Aiko is super good. The fish portions are spot on and the Chef knows exactly what is what. Don't expect things to come fast because that's not how you do quality sushi. My wife and I come out here for work every couple days during the week. Being in Rancho Cordova it's slim pickings when it comes to restaurants, and when the wife was craving Sushi I was afraid we wouldn't have any luck. I take it back. I was on yelp and between Sora and this spot we picked sky, the reviews and comments compared to Sora downfall is what brought us. We came in at 4:30 and it wasn't too busy, we got to pick our seats, the waiter was attentive, patient and helpful. Food: the Menu is loaded with Salmon, Shrimp, tuna, you name it they had a category for it, im more of an unagi fan and was a bit sad they only had one roll ( yin Yang) on the menu. The waiter let me know they could substitute anything for elk, and recommended the yin Yang, which was BOMB!!!! I could have ate two more of those!!!!! Great call, the second roll we got was shrimp lovers!!!! Service: the service was on point, the waiter was attentive, and when we couldn't decide or find what we wanted he was able to find an unagi roll for us, and recommend another roll, both were bomb. I also did the soda test, I placed my empty cup on the side table, and as he was passing by to help a table, he immediately turned toward me on his way back to the kitchen " I got your soda on my way back" boom!!! Mic drop, we were sold. Food was great, service was awesome!!!! I don't focus on price too much, especially when they hit the spot when it comes to satisfying a customer.
