These guys have been my A/C company since 2018 when my A/C died in the middle of summer and another company was unable to fix it in a timely way. I called AirCon and they came out and had it up and running in a couple of hours. Since then I have used them to install a new Lennox A/C unit, install new ductwork and for service calls. They have yet to disappoint me. They are under new management, the former general manager bought the company from the original owners. I have noticed only positive changes since then, including being more responsive to calls. All of their installers and techs that I have ever dealt with, have been top notch, courteous and knowledgeable. I award them the elusive fifth star for consistency! :) read more

My AC was not cooling. Paid to have technician come out, who determined that unit was low on refrigerant. Offered to do a leak test at additional cost ($150). I think that a basic leak test should be included in a service call (quick check around condenser and evaporator coil). Leak found at evaporator coil. Technician did not then "pump down" the unit (storing refrigerant in the condenser), so it continued to leak through the weekend---not good for the environment or my wallet. Their quote for replacement coil was 2x others---they seemed more interested in selling complete system replacements. read more

I no longer recommend Aircon in Clear Lake Texas for HVAC work. We had a clean HVAC system due to an inline electronic air filter and expensive special high efficiency filters to protect our health. Aircon damaged our HVAC system by drilling several holes in it for a fiber optic inspection tool without our knowledge, and then did not cover the holes. They even left the fiber optic tool wrapper and other trash/papers in the attic. The four holes allowed unconditioned air, dirt and bugs into our clean system, as well as let air conditioned air into the attic space, wasting energy. This resulted in damage to the filters, dirt in the air ducts, dirt on the evaporator coil and in the furnace, along with inefficient operation. It continues to cause respiratory problems for us. They agreed to take care of the problem, but only performed an incomplete cleaning. When we advised that it did not resolve the problems, the owner refused to do any more. A few available pictures - one of the holes with sharp spurs, the optic fiber wrapper, a roach shorting out one of the electronic filters, additional bugs and dirt at the evaporator coil. read more

I have used AirCon for 12 years. I contract them to keep my AC in good condition and for them to check my system twice a year, it was 4 times a year but they got cheap and now it is only twice a year. Recently I knew something was wrong with my AC system, I called them, they came out. Something was beeping which they still claim is my return vent. They blew out my lines, said everything was fine nothing was wrong. Little did I know, this is where the issue started, blew the clog further down my line just out of reach enough for them to say, not our problem. I called them out again about a month later, I asked them to send a different tech, they refused. The tech did not even enter my attic to check the system. You have to enter the attic to check the AC. That night I hear a drip drip drip from my laundry room. The condensation pipe in my attic was overflowing into my attic and down my walls. This happened when the AC was on. So had the tech turned on the AC and actually entered my attic he should have seen this, clear as day right by the attic entry. Then their manager Jody comes out and says yes when we see that line we recommend customers get that fixed. I said your team had been coming here for 5 years (this house I have lived in for 5 years) and no one has ever told me that I needed to fix that? Needless to say, I have a 4 x5 ft hole in my wall because they did not completely check my AC unit. I asked for a phone call from the general manager and I get a matter-of-fact email stating it is my problem, not theirs. My plumber found the issue in 2 minutes, said it is clearly obvious that there was overflow. In short Aicon blew out my lines, sent the clog further down the line so they say they are not responsible, this basically caused my backup and a disaster in my home. I write a review, they email me and say we dont want you for a customer anyway....that should tell you all you need to know not to use this company. The wife and I got home at 4:30 AM on Sunday and the house was muggy and hot. Uh oh...the A/C just went out. After doing every thing I could think to get it back on, I called AirCon. I knew since it was an after hour call on the Weekend that I would have to wait a little bit for service, but in less than an hour I was contacted by David and he said he would be out between 9:30 and 10:00 AM because he had a couple of other jobs to hit first. He made it on time as promised and had the problem diagnosed and fixed within 25 minutes. He let me know (without being pushy) about AirCon's service plan, and I took advantage of it and ended up saving about 33 dollars on the call. David was extremely professional and very helpful. He even left his card to give him a call should we have any questions or further issues with the unit. The whole thing was fairly painless and the price was reasonable. Thanks AirCon. AirCon nickel and dimes you. I feel like I've been taken advantage of these past few years from these guys when our furnace broke down. Last winter I hired them to do a "free" annual inspection. Lo and behold it needed a $300 repair We are looking to get it replaced this year so I called to get a quote and I got nothing but icky salesman vibes. They were trying to convince me to replace my ducts and who knows what else. I just don't appreciate a company who takes advantage of their customers. I did give it 2 stars because they have decent customer service and show up on time. In the end I went with a local company who is honest and trustworthy and quoted us a fair price for the furnace replacement. read more

Our AC went out unexpectedly - as if it's ever expected right. They came out and looked, gave us a quote and scheduled the service. The guys that came to install the a/c were amazing and very courteous. They asked if they could use the bathroom, sit and eat, etc. I highly recommend AirCon. I've used AirCon to top of my refrigerant in the past because I know I had a small leak. Well it leaked out again and since my unit was old, I said let's replace the whole thing. They were very professional and worked very diligently to get me up and running. Of course it was more expensive than I cared to pay but AC's aren't cheap and I have a warranty so I have piece of mind now. I've had the new unit for about a month now and my house cools off much faster now. There's 2 main reasons why I'm giving 4 stars and not 5. 1) They stated the job would take roughly 4 hours. It ended up taking a little over 8 hours. That was a bit inconvenient. 2) If I can finance an ipad for 0% for 12 months from Best Buy, you would think I'd be able to do something similar for a BRAND NEW AC. But the finance options were less than desirable. Other than that, great service! read more

Our AC had been out a full week (it's SUMMER in HOUSTON - that's INHUMANE) and the contractor deployed by our home warranty company came by FIVE TIMES without fixing the problem. Having reached my wit's end, I researched and got recommendations for an AC company and decided to call AirCon. The representative on the phone was SO incredibly nice and had a technician out in about an hour. Our technician, Walter, was extremely kind and quickly found the issue. It was not related to the four things the previous contractor claimed it to be and he had the matter fixed within 90 minutes for just over $200. Had I know it was such an easy fix and that that other contractor was going to be RUDE, LATE and WRONG, I would never have waited so long to contact AirCon! Aircon is dependable, competitively priced and employees are professional. We purchased a Lennox - complete change out including ductwork six months ago and could not be happier, to date, with the efficiency and performance of the system. Techs Ryan and Logan were out today for a tune up check and media filter replacement and they greeted us, slipped shoe covers on at the door, and went about their business. Walter came back to do a replacement of the pressure sensor. The installers who came to get my AC back up (aka Circus Clowns... jk guys) did a quick fix but didn't have the part to replace it with at the time they were here. It's been a few weeks since Walter did the final fix and my A/C is running beautifully. The entire job ended up being less than $500. I'm not sure if this gets posted under my initial review but I had gotten a 2nd opinion from an awful company who said I needed to replace everything and gave me a quote for almost $6000! I love the fact that AirCon wants to build relationships and instills trust and confidence in their customers of their services. I also like the fact that they're investing in advancing their technology to provide better service. From the first time to the last visit which was over the span of a little less than a month, AirCon had new tablets for credit card processing and to track customer history. I appreciate things like that and see it as a sign of a company who wants to improve. Talk about professionalism! Melissa was WONDERFUL! She gave proper notice. Came in with a professional demeanor and dressed the part. She was so nice and just down to earth. Great person to talk to. She brought over brochure and pamphlets for me to review. She gave very honest and upfront information. I didn't feel she was trying to short change me or anything. Approximately one year ago, we started the process of looking for a company to install a new a/c unit in our home. We had hoped our old one would last one more summer, but that was not to be. I did my homework and had several companies come out to give us estimates and I asked friends who they used and their experiences since this is a big expense. After getting several quotes, we decided on AirCon. I honestly cannot tell you why we choose them. Their quote was not the lowest nor was it the highest. I think I just had a gut feeling to go choose them. The salesman (Jason) was friendly and he answered all my questions. The unit was installed, inspected and we were happy. Fast forward to one year later and they emailed me for our one year check up (April 2019). I scheduled that check up and all seemed great. On Saturday, June 15th, we discovered water coming up the tile in our entryway and we had no idea what was causing it. I never thought it would be from the a/c. However, after getting a plumber to my house and a water restoration company (yes, I had that much water damage), it was discovered that the drain pipe the a/c company installed had come apart. All the water draining from the a/c was leaking down that wall and we had at least 2 inches of water under our tub that leaked into the entryway, guest bedroom, hall bathroom and some of the hallway. I called AirCon (it was after hours) and told them what was discovered. I cannot begin to tell you how impressed I am from what happened after that. AirCon sent a Jody to my house early the next morning (the leak was fixed at this time and I had 8 fans blowing to dry up the water damage). Jody showed up at my house to take a look at what was happening. He went into the attic, took pics and asked questions. But most importantly, he listened to what I was saying. He was very professional and sympathetic to what happened to our home. I had pictures from the plumber and restoration of what was found and Jody directed me to email those to the management at AirCon, which I did. Within literally 15 minutes, I was getting a reply from Seth. Once again, he was very professional and expressed how sorry he was this happened. He stated that they will do what was needed to make this right. And they did. AirCon has already reimbursed me for the plumbing expenses (which was Mr. Rooter....DO NOT USE THEM...TOTAL RIP OFF) and they paid the restoration company directly (Rainbow International of Dickinson....great company, highly recommend). They also had a handyman come to my house to see about the repairs needed. They have moved very quickly to get my home back to normal. It is soooo refreshing to work with a company that acknowledges when they made a mistake and do what they can to make it right. If you need a new unit or just a repair, call AirCon, they 100% stand behind their work. We have used these guys for several years and bought 2 air conditioners from them in addition to the annual service contracts. Unfortunately the last two years have changed my opinion about the company. Last year their service tech came to our house to do the semi annual maintenance. I was suspicious when they found we had a broken part that was going to cost over a thousand dollars to fix at the "discounted price" because we had a service agreement. This was in addition to their sales pitch about some sort of NASA developed air purifier that cost over a thousand dollars and looked like a scam to me. However they recommended we replace the part completely for a lot more money. I said no called someone else and got if fixed for a lot less. This year Aircon came in again and recommended another "repair" we said no. The air conditioner was working great all year (Jan - July 28) until they did their inspection and recommended a repair. All of a sudden the air conditioner is not working, and it just so happened to coincide with the same day the serviceman did his inspection. I guess it could be a coincidence that something is broken the same day they do a semi annual service check. I don't know but I have my doubts. read more

Called them on a whim because of an ongoing problem we had been ignoring. They were able to schedule us for an appointment within a week. On the day of the appointment they called early and asked if they could arrive a little early. When he arrived he was polite, thorough and honest. Was even able to fix the problem easily. He went ahead and did a full system check and showed us a potential future problem. He could have easily mis diagnosed the problem, but he didn't. You can tell he comes from a place of honesty. Had stopped drains in attic. Repairman said I needed a valve so he could be sure drain was open. Said I didn't have a valve. So I said install one. After paying the bill I noticed on statement said he repaired the valve. Not installed as he told me. I called office for correction to paper copy. Did he install one or repair it? Girl on phone said she will not email me a correct copy telling me what he did!!! She refused to email or tell me truth. Bill had been paid. Now I don't trust them if they can't tell me the truth!! Run from dishonest companies. All I wanted was to know if he installed a valve or did he repair it. read more

I called them out because the a/c that has been our faithful friend and source of comfort wasn't blowing as usual and the thermostat was slowly climbing. They responded promptly the next morning and a technician came out. Unfortunately in his quest to diagnosis the problem, he blew the motor of our unit. Honest mistake that set about a series of unfortunate mishaps....BUT what I can tell you is this company worked diligently to fix every issue we had. I went with AirCon over 2 years ago and have not regretted it. I had to completely replace my air conditioning unit. I feel like I got a great deal, I have an amazing unit and the installation was quick and efficient. When the city's inspector came out to inspect they were impressed at how well the system was installed and the quality of system I had. I opted for the cheap insurance and I am happy about that. They come to my home free of charge twice a year to check my a/c and furnace. I never have to call them about it, they call me! Everyone that I have spoken with has been very friendly and knowledgeable. If I had to do this process all over again I would definitely call AirCon. read more

I called last week because one of the A/C units was not working and the tech who called me back said he couldn't be there until after 5pm. I told him that was fine and then he said he may not be able to make it at all until the following day. I told him I needed someone today and he suggested I call another company. The technician showed up less than an hour from the time we called the office and he fixed it in about an hour (thankfully, he had the part we needed on his truck). Very professional service. Aircon lived up to their rating. All stars and then some. Very professional and good to their word. Highly recommend AirCon. Initial service call was conducted on time and throughly. Steven explained what was found and detailed our options. As the existing unit is over 20 years old, we elected to replace the unit. The second call was to determine the type of unit. David came out on time and did a through review of our needs and requirements. Nothing was left unturned and he even found existing conditions which we were not aware of in our system. Following some discussion, we selected our unit. The third call was the installation and it went smoothly with no problems i.e. what was planned out in our statement of work from David was done completely and on time. As stated earlier, AirCon lived up to their star rating. I will not hesitate to use them again as our house has two units and the second unit will probably need replacement sooner rather than later. Second experience with AirCon - this time for emergency heat service. Jody was the technician and he had the heat fixed in no time and had a simple, cheap fix. The cost of emergency service and rewiring part of the system was way less than most companies emergency service fees. Same experience earlier this summer with my a/c. AirCon is an honest, reliable, and professional group and worked with my schedule at the peak of the cold front this year. I highly recommend these guys. Our AC wasn't cooling the house properly, so we called AirCon. They charged a $60 trip fee and then did another $40 worth of work. The tech sold us a service plan for $10.75 per month so that they could make the unit more efficient. With the service plan, the tech comes out twice a year and does various things to improve the AC system, keeping a look out for needed maintenance. The AC never cooled the house any better. In fact, we had to call them out again, this time paying an $85 trip charge in addition to more $ for labor and repairs. They never told us exactly what was wrong with our unit or why the house was always hot, just kept letting us keep calling them and paying trip charges, monthly fees, and other charges. We finally called another company which came out for free. They told us we needed more intake vents in order for the house to cool properly, did not sell us anything we didn't need like a bogus service plan, and were up front about what was going on. Next time we have an AC issue, I'll be calling the second company. read more

We have been very happy with Air Con since switching to them a year ago. We did have one service issue last year and after speaking with the manager about it he didn't charge us for the $700 part due to his tech not following procedure. This week our furnace was not working. We called on Sunday and a tech was out on Monday. He needed a part so they ordered it and he returned Tuesday to install it - just in time for the cold front! Great experience from beginning to end. Scheduler was very personable & was able to get someone out that morning (I called another company & they couldn't get someone out till the next week). I received a call once the technician was 15 mins away, as well as an email with the tech's name & picture (being a female, I LOVE that they do this)! Jesse was very nice & efficient, diagnosed the problem, & explained the mechanics of it to me, quoted me a reasonable price, got me scheduled for repair the next day (very important since we have small kids). Before the repair crew came, I received a call that they were on the way. Anthony & 2 other guys (sorry, I forgot their names) were quiet & respectful as they went about their work. Came home after a 2 week vacation to find our AC was out. We called at 3:30 and had a tech there (Jody) shortly after 5. He fixed the plugged primary drain to stop the water leak but couldn't troubleshoot further until the massive iceberg on the evaporator coil melted. Next morning another tech (Will) arrived and quickly diagnosed the problem. The evaporator does need to be replaced but Will added enough refrigerant to get us through the next few days until all the replacement parts are in. Bottom line: AirCon had a tech onsite within hours of my call, both techs were very professional and quickly diagnosed the issues, AirCon called with several updates as to when the techs would arrive. I originally contacted AirCon, because, being a business woman myself, when I looked them up in Yelp, they not only gave thanks for their good reviews, but they also responded to the only 2 unfavorable ones, reviewed the issue, and offer the client a resolution. This resonated with me, it identified AirCon as a company which cares about their clients and reputation. Those of us Yelpers are too familiar with companies that don't!!! On 12/30, on a cold day in Houston (YES!), I called AirCon at 12:55 PM. At 1:21 PM, Dai Nguyen, the technician, was on his way to my house. I was impressed by his giving me the option of not permanently fixing the problem at this time, with the understanding that the heat failing to start my continue to happen or doing the repair. Thus, bypassing the very common sales pitch!! By 2:30, the repair was done, and Mr. Nguyen was gone. I live in large gated community.
