This place is so so so cute in a super cool location. I got a side of biscuits and gravy and bacon and it was so yummy! The bacon was especially good. I also got to try the ham steak and it was spectacular. My whole group was raving about their food. Our server was so nice and brought everything we needed! Highly recommend for breakfast (get here early, it's a popular spot)

Great diner experience. Lots of cool planes outside. People fly in from all over. Had the club, a chicken salad sandwich and a hamburger. Great fries!

I absolutely love this quaint diner. As you sit and eat, you can watch the planes come in and take off. The food is good. I will attach photos of the menu, service was super friendly and fast, but being able to sit there and watch outside was amazing. I will definitely be back food. Prices were good and you definitely got good portions.

This Diner is right next door to the Hangar Hotel and it was so convenient to check out of the hotel and grab some breakfast from the Airport Diner. Right off the bat, the decor is awesome, it had a very vintage feel to it. The service was awesome. We had a great server, she was awesome. The food was good and the coffee was also good. We would return if we stayed at the Hangar Hotel again.

We have been to Fredericksburg many times and just discovered this place. We'd been searching for a classic 40s diner such as this for years. We came for breakfast and came back the same day for lunch. Katie was our waitress and she was awesome, and their migas, French toast, Helipad, and onion rings were fantastic! We'll be back, and there are so many things on the menu we want to try!

On one of our trips to Fredericksburg, my wife and I, her brother and sister in law decided to eat a Sunday brunch there. Our first choice, Sunset Grill had people lined out the door and many more waiting to get served. We did not even stop. Our second choice was not much better. It was packed with people waiting outside as well. As we searched for a place to eat, we remembered that the airport had a diner so we went there to see if it was easier than the first 2 places to get breakfast. It had people waiting but the wait was rewarded when we found a table. It was first come, first served. Now, the diner looks over the jetway where the small planes can park and the flyers can walk over to the diner and eat. It's pretty entertaining. You can watch planes take off and land right there while you eat. My brother in law is a licensed pilot and loves to fly and watch airplanes. We've eaten lunch here but not breakfast. It was busy so while the service was not great, it was adequate and those young ladies who work there work fast and furious. They really earn their tip for sure. The food is good - again not great - it is a diner after all. Overall, it was an adequate breakfast. Fredericksburg is a place full of promise if you are inclined to open a breakfast/ brunch restaurant for Sundays. It was amazing to see the amount of people we saw lined up patiently to eat breakfast or brunch. This might be a big opportunity for some enterprising person interested in serving breakfast to hungry people in Fredericksburg, TX!

Great diner prices and the food came out quick. Also really neat to watch some of the planes fly down or take off. Highly recommend on your trip to Fredericksburg!

Decided to give Airport Diner another shot; last reviewed by Ol' Rooster 8 years ago. GF and I had snuck out to Fredericksburg the evening before for a getaway. Decided to sleep in a bit; making our usual breakfast fave Sunset Grill not ideal because of the wait time. I was already hearing aircraft action in the skies at our hotel; something that was totally absent during from the start of the pandemic. Decided to give them another go so we could see some runway action as we dined and sipped coffee. The airport action did not disappoint! Multi million dollar jet landed and taxied by; helicopter came to life and headed south. Lots of small private planes arriving as we unfortunately dined on totally mediocre food just like 8 years ago. SOS plate aka biscuits and gravy with homefries and eggs was barely warm. Eggs ordered over easy were scorched from being cooked at a high temp. Biscuits were shown no love; not even split for you. Taters with chili powder spiked salsa was the best bites. GF's migas suffered the same temperature issue. Cooks still won't cook bacon to order according to our server. She was friendly attentive and that's why we're at 2 stars (down from three stars previously). You're better off getting McDonalds and sitting on the tarmac!

ChatGPT raved about Sunset Grill, so we hopped in the car and zoomed down. Upon arriving, we walked into the cramped restaurant, and we were greeted by a nice hostess. She put our name on a list, and we had a brief 5-10 minute wait before we were seated. We were handed menus and left to peruse the menu. After a brief wait, we were greeted by our waiter and he took our drinks. In good time the waiter was back with drinks and he took our order. I ordered a bacon and cheese omelette. It came with potatoes and toast. The wife ordered the plate with eggs over easy, crispy bacon, and potatoes. The wife and I sat and had a nice visit. We should not have drank our drinks so fast, as they stayed empty the entire time we visited. Our waiter not once made eye contact so we could get a refill either. After an average wait time, our food came. Our waiter noticed the drinks and then refilled them. My omelette was undercooked and watery, the cheese was not melted, and the bacon was chewy. Furthermore, the toast was also very dry. I would have gotten butter to put on them, but the waiter never came back to check on us. The wife's eggs were cooked over hard, the bacon was rubbery, and very underwhelming. Our drinks went empty and we never got refills, again. We paid the bill and went shopping. I was glad to get out of there. I had high hopes for this place based on the reviews, but I think they missed the mark here. ChatGPT did me dirty on this one. I don't know if they just were having a bad day, or what the deal was, but this was a one and done for me. I cannot say I recommend this one. I was very disappointed.

Vibe is euro-bistro and the staff is perfectly attentive. Prices are high, but honestly aligned to the quality of the food, at least the dishes we had were worth the prices. Food: Buttermilk Fried Chicken, with Onion/Bacon flash fried collard greens, whipped potatoes and house gravy and Jalapeno Cornbread for $32 Reuben on Marble Rye for $24 16oz Stella Artois for $10 We agreed that the fried chicken (5/5) was the best we could remember having. Whipped potatoes (5/5) were light, fluffy and perfect taste/texture. The gravy was like brown butter (5/5). The collard greens (5/5) were flash fried and if you've never had them like this, it's like eating collard green potato chips. Cornbread (3/4) was a bit too delicate and sweet for our taste. You couldn't pick it up without it falling apart. The Ruben (3/5). My wife loves a good Ruben sandwich. This one had the makings of a good one, but they use a Thousand Island sauce (too much of it) on the sandwich, and it hides the flavor of the meat. Next time we would ask for the sandwich without the TI sauce, see if that improves the rating. The sandwich came with house made potato chips (5/5), a small house salad with vinaigrette (5/5) and a large, pickled cucumber. I know, that's a pickle, but these are cucumbers that have gone maybe a third of the way through the process, so the cucumber taste is really prevalent. Lastly, we had the Creme Brulé (3/5) for dessert. It was nice, but the custard was coffee and caramel flavored, and we prefer the standard custard look and flavor. The caramel should come from the top layer, not the custard. The top layer was a bit too thick as well. We liked it, just didn't love it. Overall, quality food, service and vibe with prices that are aligned to more special occasions than everyday eating out. We'll be back to try the Monday Crawfish Etoufee and the Tuesday Duck Confit daily specials...look too good to pass up.

Our server was friendly, but there were a few communication hiccups throughout the meal. We were served bottled water without being told there was a charge, which caught us off guard since most nearby restaurants offer complimentary water. The server also offered chips and salsa as we were handed menus, so it sounded like a complimentary starter, but it's actually $10 on the menu. After waiting about 40 minutes, we decided to cancel the order (which turned out hadn't been entered anyway). Service was pleasant but inconsistent. One of our friends arrived a few minutes after us and ordered coffee right away, but her cup didn't come out until well after ours, and when it did, the cup wasn't very clean. Also worth noting that gratuity is automatically added for parties of six or more, and they don't split checks. We accidentally double-tipped, but the manager was kind and quickly resolved it. On the plus side, the space is casual, dog-friendly, and has plenty of shaded outdoor seating. The food was the highlight. My Chicken Bacon Ranch sandwich was flavorful with crispy fries, my husband's Hideaway Burger was cooked well, and our friend's Chicken & Waffles were tasty, though a bit heavy on the waffle and light on the chicken. Overall, the food and atmosphere were good, but the lack of transparency around pricing and a few service missteps made the experience less smooth than it could've been. Decent spot, but I'd probably try somewhere else next time.
