First time dining at Save Inn since moving to Kerrville. We ate breakfast and our experience from the food to the service was very good. Waitstaff was friendly, too. Our only recommendation is to offer real butter instead of the fake stuff. read more

This is a popular place here in Kerrville. There's always a line after 9am and the servings are good! My bacon and cheese omelette was alright. The American cheese gives it an off taste. Great Mom and Pop cafe. Great service. Food is moderately priced and portions are massive. Eggs are fresh and cooked to order perfectly. Bacon is oven cooked and fresh! We're grits and biscuits people. Both were delicious. Pancakes are huge and fluffy. My Fried eggs both days were perfect. Wife's Spanish omelette seemed to be flooded with old oil. Melanie, our waitress, is a darling. We adjusted a few things- flapjacks instead of pancakes, bacon instead of ground beef - and she didn't blink even once! The place definitely has the small town vibe to it- come on in, find a seat, the coffee is fresh and rich and the water is cool and refreshing. Order the Lisa's Tacos. Have the half- and order an extra tortilla- there's more than enough filling to make two tacos. Take the hot sauce (homemade) if they offer it. And enjoy you're time in taste-bud HEAVEN. Don't let the four stars fool you. I've been to some really great greasy spoons and this is not one of them. The coffee aroma had that hint of detergent. The omelet was kind of a thin yellow membrane over something inside and a piece of Kraft American cheese almost melted on top of it. The hash browns could have double as shoe string potatoes. The flap Jacks came out cold and when the waitress was back in a flash with them microwaved on full power she seemed surprised at our reaction, upon which she offered to make some fresh ones? Very good breakfast with efficient servers. Went on a Sunday so we knew it would be crowded, but the staff were very professional and efficient in clearing tables and seating customers. I had the standard bacon, eggs, hash browns and toast all of which were very tasty and perfectly cooked. My wife had a Spanish omelet which she enjoyed however she had to pick the bell peppers out as they were cut into too large of pieces and were not cooked. The menu selection was breakfast and lunch, with many options for both. we ordered, and our food was delivered in about 5 minutes. I had been craving a chicken salad sandwich, and they had it. It's one of those small diners from the 1970's complete with people who look like they're from that era. The waitresses are even throwback ladies. They are very nice and make sure to check if you need anything. My wife had the hamburger and fries and I got the bacon cheeseburger and fries. They are big and tasty. No complaints at all. My daughter had the pancakes. She liked them. I did too. I took a bite and they had that old 60's-70's pancake taste. Probably made with a cake mix. Very good. The only things we didn't like was that they didn't have sweet tea and the Coca Cola came in a can with a cup of ice. Also, they probably need to sweep or vacuum the carpet every 30 minutes. Who knew people could drop so much food on the floor while eating? We will stop again. It was a nice place to stop and prices were reasonable. read more

My favorite breakfast is the Sinker Taco and they have a great variety of delicious sandwiches. Their hamburgers are arguably THE BEST burgers in town.
