Just like having a meal at home!
    Mel D.

When traveling, I often crave a good home cooked meal. I couldn't of asked for a better fit. I walked in was excited to see that it was a simple, cafereria-style restaurant with a long list of southern staples to choose. I had the beef stew with gravy and rice, green beans (cooked just like my mom's) and the macaroni and cheese. The staff was quick, friendly and helpful. We were in and out in 30 mins. Thank you so much- I will be back!

This was my first time at this restaurant, as my boss wanted to try something new and I have seen it many times before leaving work. So as some of the reviews mentioned, it's sorta cafeteria style.... you get in line, pick your food, pay & seat your self. However, the very nice wait staff came by a few times refilling drinks. It was a very nice experience and the food was delicious! I would go back for sure!

Lately, I've been on a Southern food craze, which eventually let me to Airport View Restaurant. Upon going inside the restaurant, I was surprised to see a cafeteria-style line and really cheap prices. i ordered dark meat chicken, macaroni and cheese, and collared greens along with corn bread. I was very skeptical at the fact that the food was already prepared. While waiting in line, our server asked what drink we wanted so that we could get our beverages by the time we got to the cashier. Within minutes, I was already sitting down and felt uneasy about what I was about to eat. Although the food was quick, the food was also great. The macaroni and cheese was one of the better ones I have had; it wasn't too rich or creamy. The collared greens were average whereas the dark chicken was spectacular. The restaurant was spacious, but my favorite part was that you could actually see airplanes through the windows. I guess they called it Airport View Restaurant for a good reason.

Food is good and is fairly priced for the amount of food you get. My favorite is the boneless chicken and the chicken and dressing.

For the most part, people seemed to enjoy it so I was convinced I should check it out. The restaurant is located inside of the Hilton airport Hotel. There is a secure parking lot that requires you to pull a ticket when you enter. The restaurant will validate the parking ticket for you ! When I walked in I was greeted by a staff member and seated immediately. Shortly after I was seated my wait staff came over and introduced herself. She took my drink order and said she would allow me time to look over the menu. I asked my wait staff her thoughts on the Mac and cheese. I am picky about eating Mac and cheese from places. Most don't know how to make real Mac & cheese ( if you know what I mean)! She told me it was pretty solid. - As such I ordered the following: Crab bisque Smoked chicken wing plate served with two sides: Mac & cheeses and asparagus were my picks! The crab bisque did take a long time to come out. It was so delayed that my main course came out shortly after the soup. It was not ideal, but I made it work! The crab bisque was solid. I would order it again. The wing plate also exceeded my expectations! I was impressed with the mac and cheese. The asparagus were large, which was concerning to me! Like how did they get so big? Steroids? Nonetheless, they were cooked to perfection! I did get the banana pudding to go- this was the only item I would not order again! It was basic and I only took a few bites and ended up trashing it . Overall I would reconned this spot! Service was spot on- and for a hotel restaurant the food is pretty good!

Dinner was decent, the brisket was tender and their bbq sauce was tasty... their peach cobbler was a bit lacking... crusty was over battered and doughy to the point of almost being raw... very underwhelming to end a decent meals... breakfast service was non existent and coffee was rancid. They charged tip automatically and it made me feel like they forced me to pay for service I did not received. Not a great way to keep costumers... maybe that's why only hotel guests are forced to eat here... The lobby area and bar was well decorated and had a great ambience. But that's all it has... hotel lobby aesthetics :(

Our party consisted of six people, and as you can see from the photos, everyone ordered something different no two dishes were the same. We started with the Craft Mimosa. Our first flavor was watermelon, which is shown in the photo. It was very good and had a strong watermelon flavor. The second flavor we tried was passion fruit, which wasn't my favorite. For a table appetizer, we chose the macaroni balls. They were fried to perfection on the outside, but unfortunately, when I bit into mine, it was cold on the inside, which was a bit disappointing. For my entrée, I ordered the Foul Play (chicken and waffles). I asked for the toppings on the side just in case I didn't like them. The waffle was delicious and didn't even need syrup. The chicken breast was fried well and paired nicely with the waffle. Overall, even though the dish was simple, it was a great choice. Our waitress was very nice and informative. She explained the most popular and top-ordered items, which really helped with our selections. Inside decor was pretty. There was also a bar if solo diner will like to sit there. Will I return? As eating on a budget has become a topic of conversation, I was excited to see the "Cheap Eats" search work in real time. As Barbecue Kitchen provides a robust menu with great pricing, it was an easy decision to head on over for date night. Arriving at Barbecue Kitchen I was excited to see that they have their own parking lot. As Barbecue Kitchen sits right on the main road, it was super easy to find and parking was in abundance. Walking in, Barbecue Kitchen has a homely feel and the classic interior design of a down home barbecue spot. The staff greeted us with a smile and as we were dining in, they advised us to sit anywhere we would like. Once at our booth of choice, the waitress arrived and further greeted us. She flashed her smile, provided us menus and went over what the specials for the day were. I decided to do Sweet Tea for my drink along with the Rib Tips Dinner Plate with Sweet Potato Soufflé, Baked Beans, Dressing and Gravy, and Cornbread. The Sweet Tea was delivered and it was amazing. Home brewed. Sweetened to perfection. Perfect ice to tea ratio and a robust tea flavor profile. This was that good tea bag. lol. The food arrived without too long of a wait and everything looked like it was made true cookout style. Upon saying grace, it was time to eat! Rib Tips - Meaty. Tender. Bland flavor profile. The sauce brings the flavor. If you aren't a sauce eater, I suggest you stay away from this option as you must have the sauce to have any flavor. However, the meat was moist and smoked to perfection. Sweet Potato Souffle - Good portion. Lacked a robust flavor spotlight. The potato's natural flavor dominated the dish. If you love sweet potatoes, you will love this dish. If you desire the more sweet flavor profile, this isn't it. Baked Beans - Made with bacon. Hint of sweetness. Overall good. Dressing and Gravy - Good portion. No flavor. Dressing was bland. Gravy was bland. As a pair it was double bland. Cornbread - If you are a lover of hot water cornbread, this is for you as it spotlights the natural corn flavor with no added sweetness. Overall, the Barbecue Kitchen was a moderate experience. The service was amazing. The food was sub-par. The pricing is budget friendly.

With no self-parking visible, you're forced to follow the road behind the building into a paid lot. Parking is free for the first 2 hours, which would later prove to be an issue. Inside, the hotel aesthetic is bright and clean, and we were promptly greeted and seated, however, this was the last positive moment regarding service. Service: Our server, Sierra, set the tone quickly. Despite the restaurant not being busy and appearing well-staffed, it took an unusually long time just to take our drink orders. When we asked for white zinfandel, we received a rude response: "We only have the drinks on the menu." Ironically, my friend then asked for a margarita, which was not on the menu, and the bartender somehow managed to make it. Consistency and professionalism were clearly missing. Throughout the experience, attention to service level was non-existent. Sierra couldn't keep track of who ordered what, and delays continued for everything: taking orders, delivering takeout containers, splitting checks, and even getting water refills (which never arrived). At this point, we were joking that the server must get a kickback for delaying guests long enough to exceed the free parking window. Check-Out Chaos: At checkout, mass confusion set in. Sierra painstakingly recorded who ordered what, yet our checks still came out wrong. To avoid further delays, we privately sorted the difference within our group. When the signed receipts and cards were returned, we asked about parking validation--only to learn parking is just free for 2 hours, no validation provided. We rushed out, only to hit 2 hours and 1 minute, triggering a parking fee. As if that wasn't enough, one of our party members went back to leave a tip, only to be told we never paid. Sierra accused us of taking both copies of the receipt, despite never providing two in the first place. When we quickly returned to reconcile the confusion and were met with shifting stories: first we didn't owe anything, then she thought we were hotel guests, then finally that we took both receipts. The insult was unnecessary, disrespectful, and completely out of line. Final Thoughts: Great food, however server was rude, disorganized, and accusatory. If you go, pack patience and maybe a stopwatch for parking.
