In mid-June, my dishwasher broke, followed by my microwave two days later. I turned to Aitoro because other retailers quoted at least a two-week wait. Jason P assured me a silver dishwasher was available right away (though I wanted black). I agreed to check it in-store, but when I showed up on the day he told me to, he wasn't there. Another rep helped me, but Jason later called me angrily for not waiting for him. I didn't care who helped me--I just needed appliances quickly--so I sent Jason my kitchen photos, dimensions, and payment. When the installer (excellent service from James) arrived, he immediately saw the microwave Jason sold me wouldn't fit. I had to reorder the correct one. Jason dismissed this by calling me "picky," but promised a black dishwasher shipment in early July. I agreed to wait. That "one week" stretched into two months of empty promises. I have pages of texts where delivery was pushed back again and again. Meanwhile, I found other retailers with the same item in stock, some able to deliver within three days. The final straw: while Jason told me no dishwashers were available as he explained what the acronym ETA stood for (was I born yesterday??), Aitoro's own website advertised the exact same item as "in stock" with "quick delivery." Jason P said that I could have that if I paid $200 more. Same brand, same series, nearly identical specs--just a different model number and only 2-decibel difference. (That's it.) Umm... isn't this called bait-and-switch? Only after I threatened a BBB complaint did Jason P offer a refund. I've been patient with supply issues, but this was not about delays--it was about misleading sales, broken promises, and refusal to make things right unless pressured. The entire summer, I had no dishwasher even though I had already paid for it. If Aitoro cannot deliver, they shouldn't take payment and string people along. I wanted to support a local business, but instead I was left feeling insulted and deeply disappointed. read more

I was a co-owner of The Brownstone, which was located on Main Street in Westport, CT from 2005 to 2018. For those who might remember, us we were known for our customer service, which included gift wrapping. This is my first review of a business. I regret is is a negative review of the salesperson, Benny Mantz from whom we purchased a Sub Zero refrigerator, Miele dishwasher and Viking range. From the start Mr. Mantz came across as disingenuous. He did not listen, and was inconsistent in returning phone calls. Our refrigerator and dishwasher were delivered and installed before our range. Today, Saturday, our range was delivered. Our old range was removed from our house. However, Benny failed to follow through to confirm the installation could be done on Saturday. So, we have our new, partly disassembled range sitting in the middle of our kitchen and disconnected from the gas line. Therefore, it is safe to say the range is inoperable. Benny would not return my call regarding this glitch. Professional salespeople speak to their customers when things go awry. Benny did, however, email me to blame his operations manager for the glitch. Those who remember The Brownstone, will remember our sales team partners, Celeste and Mariana. While they were not perfect, they did their upmost to prevent glitches. Yes, they followed through from start to with every order. But what set them apart from other salespeople was their genuine respect for their customers, their desire to build relationships with their customers. and their love for our business. When a glitch happened, they picked up the phone and called their customer. Our team of three would have paid for the meals that resulted from the lack of a working range, and we would have refunded our customer's range installation fee. Would Benny do this? Terrible experience. We ordered our appliances in Nov. for an April start date just to be sure. In April we unfortunately had to change our size of refrigerator. So, somehow that meant our Oven was not ready in time too? I can understand the refrigerator but the oven should be here. Contractor thinks they sold it to someone else. IF YOU CAN, TELL THEM YOU WILL TAKE YOUR APPLIANCES THE MINUTE THEY COME IN AND STORE IN GARAGE OR SOMEWHERE UNTIL YOU NEED THEM. They do not keep them for long. Unfortunately, we were not given this option or we surely would have taken it. Started project in April, won't have Refrigerator or Oven until mid August at this point (so they say) even though stove ordered in November. read more

Very helpful and took the time to help us make the right decision for our needs. When we needed to replace our "DOA" Refrigerator, before we had even decided on our replacement. They immediately offered us a "Loaner" Refrig, that they would deliver the next day. Hadn't realized that this level of service was still available in today's world. After several very positive experiences over the years (new vented hood, dishwasher, drier), no such luck this time. Called on an early Friday afternoon when our main kitchen fridge completely (and presumably irreparably) failed after 18 years. Giving the dimensions of the opening available for a counter depth fridge and discussing the various "in stock"/"quick ship" options over the phone, we eventually settled on an "in stock" model that we were assured that while "open box" and on the floor, was merely an "incorrect order" for someone else and "100% new and OK." On a bright note, said "new" fridge was delivered during the window promised next day; however, it showed up with a completely filthy freezer section, with a non-functioning ice maker, and sizeable dents in the freezer as well as top right door. Calling Aitoro upon delivery, we were convinced to keep the unit (granted, we also badly needed a fridge, period) and that the manufacturer would take care of all the required work in an expedient fashion (new doors, ice maker check up). So far, all "manageable." However, dealing with the manufacturer proved to be quite time consuming and frustrating, including at one point being asked to be available from 8 am to 5 pm (on the second appointment)--far too long a window for a service visit (we ultimately, with more calls but little help from Aitoro, were able to narrow the timeline down to a 3 hr window). Voicing our dissatisfaction to the Aitoro customer care team and ownership, we were promised another small (but arguably fair) discount for our time/effort. Ironically, nearly three weeks after the promised credit that "might take up to 7 days," we're STILL waiting for said credit to materialize on the Amex card used. Called a week ago (for the third time) and were assured the credit had been issued, and we should see it (this past) week. As of today, with a yet to be returned call after leaving another message this am, NOTHING..... Fortunately, the fridge now has new doors and is otherwise functioning properly, yet with FAR too much effort on our part for what was supposed to be a new, plug and play appliance. And as for the promised credit, our only recourse might be American Express, sadly. Wanted to support local but won't make that mistake again. Could barely be bothered to take my order and when they did confirmed the date and delivery. After it was not installed properly I asked them to come and fix the part that was loose at the bottom. Installer came 1.5 hr late and fix it but then the machine stopped working all together! ! But Aitoro is not taking any responsibility! If your brand new appliance does not work they pass you to the manufacturer. Even the manufacturer suggests to return to the store! This is the quote from their customer rep "if you buy a car and drive off the lot and stops working it is manufacturer you need to deal with! He misled us on the model dishwasher we had purchased, upsold us on a pro unit because he guaranteed it was the exact model we were looking for, we waited over a month to receive it (after delays) and when it arrived it was not at all what we ordered. Instead of apologizing for selling us the wrong unit (this is the week of Thanksgiving, we haven't had a dishwasher for over a month, we have small children) he just said, "well, it's going to be another two weeks to get a unit, just buy this one." Had a great experience from sales to installation. Our sales person, Jason was very helpful. He new the products and their features. He reviewed the features of the different models and the various pricing. We wound up getting three appliances. Installation was great. The installation crew knew what they were doing and did an excellent job in removing the existing appliances and installing the new ones. They were extremely clean and remove all packaging and the old appliances. We will definitely go back if we need other appliances. read more

I was treated poorly by a staff member. I pushed back on something that wasn't going well and the guy got really aggressive. The owner apologized, tried to make it right, got a really nice person to help me. Pretty easy to resolve and I'm happy with my purchase, delivery guys were wonderful. But we both realized later that day that I was charged a higher price than offered to me, and they said the son would process that refund. That never happened despite asking a few times. Avoid if at all possible. We bought a washer and dryer from Jessie at Aitoro three weeks ago. Had both installed by Aitoro people only to find that we literally had to be on our hands and knees in order load both appliances. I called to inquire about how low both washer and dryer were to the ground and was told that risers could be ordered but would cost an additional $500.00. When I complained it was insinuated that it was incumbent on me to know whether it needed risers or not before the purchase. Conversely I feel it should be incumbent on an experienced salesperson to mention that I may want to consider risers before purchasing. This place is a disaster! I hope NO ONE EVER SHOPS HERE! They sold me a Monogram refrigerator they had in stock that arrived DEAD ON ARRIVAL. I had to contact GE myself to get a repair person sent out, had to wait two weeks to hear if it was going to be repaired or replaced. Ultimately, it was replaced because I had to call them and go through everything myself. Two weeks after it was replaced, Aitoro was still waiting to hear back from GE whether it was going to be repaired or replaced! Good Work Aitoro Customer Service!! Oh, and they broke my patio door, which I had to order parts for, and over two months later, STILL HAVEN"T been reimbursed! When the second delivery team came to remove the dead fridge, they dented my NEW ceiling, scratched my NEW floor, and left my dead fridge in the middle of my kitchen. And the cherry on top of the turd cake, the new fridge was left outside on my patio overnight and unprotected (thankfully I had a tarp). Thankfully the delivery company sent out two giant and professional guys to finish the job the following morning. It has taken months to get anything resolved, and I'm still waiting! Aitoro is god awful! Aitoro still haven't paid me for the broken parts to my patio door. Aitoro refuses to pay the extra $300 I had to pay my contract to uninstall and reinstall the second refrigerator. Aitoro filed a rebate for my other appliances on my behalf and messed that up, received $200 vs the $500 I should have gotten. Aitoro can blame the Pandemic, but their customer service is AWFUL! They don't honor warranties at Aitoro ! My experience with them has been awful-and costly-so beware.1

You need to think post-sale! We have purchased most of our appliances from Aitoro and always get the extended warranty. Had bad luck with the 4 door fridge: the main circuit board failed 1.5 years after it was purchased... right in the middle of the Covid lockdown! It was difficult for the service company and Electrolux to locate a replacement part, nor were they planning on manufacturing new ones until the lockdown lifted. When the replacement part finally arrived, it did not work. It took 2 months to resolve the issue! Here's the Aitoro difference: 1. within DAYS of the initial failure, Aitoro brought us a loaner fridge (free of charge) so we can have a place to store our food. 2. their customer service was constantly on the phone with the extended warranty company and Electrolux, pushing them for a resolution! Rhonda was amazing! Difficult to deal with service companies and factories that were mostly locked down! 3. when the old fridge was declared a total loss, we got a full refund and we bought a new fridge (and warranty) from Aitoro. They expedited the delivery and took the dead fridge and the loaner away. read more

Good luck getting a call back when you've ordered something and waited over six months to get it. The wait may or may not be their fault but the never returning calls IS! DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS PLACE. I have written one negative review in my life (approx. 9 years ago), but felt compelled to briefly share my story so that other consumers do not make a major mistake and purchase appliances from this disreputable company owned and/or managed by Tony and Eric Aitoro. By way of background, I ordered approximately $40,000 of appliances from Aitoro including a $12,330 subzero refrigerator. Unfortunately, the refrigerator was significantly damaged by the delivery company as it came off the truck. This was confirmed by the repair company who inspected the refrigerator at my residence subsequent to the damage. Apparently when the refrigerator came off the truck, the lift seriously bent the metal protective plate underneath the refrigerator severing the water line and creating a circumstance in which there could be and was only one result -- damage to the brand-new hardwood floor in my home that was just built. As a result of the damage, my home builder repaired the floor through a subcontractor and sent me an invoice for $400 which I sent to Aitoro and they refused to pay. After refusing to pay for the damage (which was insignificant compared to the amount I spent at Aitoro) as a way to amicably resolve the issue, I suggested that they could simply give me a store credit in the amount of $400 which I could use to purchase MORE items from their store. They refused. Ultimately, I was forced to pay this $400 repair invoice at the closing of my home. Since that time, I have been speaking with Aitoro customer service about incident. In those communications, I advised Aitoro that I requested a new refrigerator and the repair charge be reimbursed. Although I am not satisfied with the floor patch, I was willing to be reasonable and not seek to have the entire floor replaced (which was my right) as such an effort would be disruptive in my new home. With respect to the refrigerator, it is unacceptable that I paid over $12,000 for a damaged appliance which was sold to me as new. I would never purchase a floor model or a used refrigerator and do not expect that when I paid full value for a new refrigerator that it would be damaged prior to being placed in my home. The temperature control is also not working properly and this issue is being ignored by Aitoro. I called Aitoro countless times and was advised that the owners Tony and Eric Aitoro instructed their employees to not communicate with me. All of my phone calls and emails have gone unanswered. It is simply unfathomable that after spending over $40,000 they would not respond to my calls or emails -- especially after causing damage to my brand new home and selling me a Subzero refrigerator that arrived significantly damaged. This is tantamount to fraud. Again, only one time in my life have I written a negative Yelp review, which was nine years ago. I hope that anyone reading this review will understand the significance of this fact and look elsewhere when deciding where to purchase their appliances and other goods. I was having a difficult experience with a rep and the owner came over to help me. He had a solution that resolved my headache and I was happy about that; still a bit frazzled from the experience, I just put my card down and was happy to be done with it. However, when I got home, I realized that the items I bought were about $200 more than the price quoted to me the day before. I called the new sales rep and politely mentioned this, that I wasn't playing some kind of renegotiation game, but just that it didn't really seem right, but whatever they decided I would accept it. She went to speak to the manager and they agreed and offered to do $100 back; since the owner originally offered me free delivery and related charges, which were worth $100, this got me back to my originally proposed fee and I thought that was fair. My neighbor laughed at me and said once I take delivery, I'll never see that refund. They'll tell you they did it, takes a few days to process, etc. I called the rep and was politely asked for an update, and this was exactly the response I received and I still have not received the money back. It's not a big deal, I but do think it's short-sighted because a great experience could have led to their participation in a top-of-the-line kitchen renovation as well as introductions to our network of friends in our town who are always doing them. I was going to go with 1-star, but decided on 2-stars because the owner is nice (he's just surrounded by sharks on full commission), the delivery guys were nice and did a good job, and I do like the units I purchased; it was just the first rep and manager that detracted from the experience. read more

We recently purchased a $4k oven from Aitoro around June 1st 2020. Unfortunately, the oven was delivered with the wrong stove grates which did not fit the unit. After countless emails and phone calls, we've gotten no where with Aitoro. It's been 2 months and we've not gotten a response and each time we call it's as if its the first time they've heard about the problem. Their customer service is horrible. I've shopped at Aitoro for the last 18 years including a very recent full, top-line kitchen remodel (SubZero, Miele, Wolf, wine fridge, etc.), with many many other top-end purchases over the years. I considered myself a loyal customer, and thought the relationship was mutual. I am now ending that relationship over Aitoro's almost mocking failure to fix or replace a damaged Electrolux washing machine for six months. In short, they're not the same store they used to be (Wow, look at all the other recent terrible reviews!) They now spin tales and falsehoods to over promise and underdeliver like the worst of them. Any benefit I thought there was by establishing a relationship with a local, family-owned shop doesn't apply at Aitoro. Long story: I ordered the recommended washing machine in early August and it wasn't delivered until the end of December. I understand supply chain constraints, but I was repeatedly promised I had a certain spot on the waiting list, and promised multiple shipments were imminent, but I never seemed to move up in accordance with the number of units delivered. (i.e. #200 on the waiting list, with 80 units shipping for delivery next week... three weeks later, I was #175 on the waiting list... ) Anyway, the machine was finally installed late December and, from the very first spin cycle, started shaking my house apart. We have not been able to run anything but a gentle spin from day one. Aitoro apparently 'sold' off their service department to Macri, or some portion of it (there's still a very 'tight' relationship), I think so they can wash their hands of having their name associated with 'service.' On the first service visit, the Macri technician agreed that the machine was vibrating excessively, and ordered and installed new 'shocks.' Even after the shocks were installed he agreed the machine was still shaking excessively. Many calls later and many promises to fix the machine under warranty, Macri suddenly changed their tune and stated that there is nothing wrong with the machine at all, and any problems were caused by my floor suddenly not being level and they had no further responsibility for the problem. They were hard-pressed to answer why, then, they felt the need to bill the manufacturer for the shocks and service, why they hadn't noticed the floor not being level when they installed and serviced the machine, or why for the last 12 years my previous washing machines spun just fine. (my floor is, in fact, level.) Many calls and complaints later, Macri and Aitoro agreed to replace the drum. After many more shifting vague answers, the parts apparently finally arrived about a month ago. That was very promising and reassuring, except all my efforts to actually schedule the repair required someone having to check with someone else for the last three weeks. I had a final message from Aitoro that they were coming out last Friday. They didn't show up and haven't returned any of my calls since. That's how they treat an 18 year customer who, along with his extended family, bought everything they sold exclusively from Aitoro. Think about that for a minute before shopping there. Ok, let's be clear. Store itself gets 5 stars and LINDA herself gets more like 10 stars. It's the repair shop in the back that gets no stars - horrid mean men back there. Yes, they service Miele vacuums but you can go down the road for that or to Shelton. Linda is a gem and I so appreciate her beyond words. She makes appliance shopping, which I need to do for my projects endlessly, painless. I loathe picking out appliances and she knows what I like, provides me with fair pricing, we can do it all over email and I only need to show up in person if I'm craving one of their fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. A part of me wants to keep LINDA to myself but she's so excellent, everybody needs to know how special she is. read more

I was in need of service on my Wolf Range. I called Aitoros and they connected me to their Service department. Jerry came to asses the problem. Parts were needed which he then ordered and was back within a week. He repaired my Range and calibrated both ovens. I am so glad to see that Jerry is still associated with Aitoro's. He has been with them for at least 25 years (he has serviced my Appliances for that long) and is an asset to the Company. He is very Knowledgeable and Professional. Thanks Again !! read more

We purchased a Thermador 6 burner and Thermador dishwasher and was unpleasantly surprised by the install. Having purchased Viking, Jenn-aire, Subzero, before - this was not my first time purchasing and installing higher end applicances. The delivery men were loud, banging, yelling and cursing at each other. I really expected both items to be full of dents. The installer took out the dishwasher and left the hose to drain all over the kitchen floor and just walked away. Not even a suggestion that I should grab some towels and dry it, just walked away to wait for the service guys to bring in the new equipment. I found it because my dogs were walking through the water and carrying it into other rooms. The install amount was disputed and the installer wanted more money than we were quoted. That did not go well. And, to end this, they left both the beautiful stove and dishwasher COVERED with grimy hand prints. Not even a courtesy wipe down, so you can admire your $$$$ appliances. Sears did better. By the time they left, I was sick to my stomach from being stressed. It was the most unpleasant install I have ever experienced. My husband went to the Aitoro office to discuss, they didn't see an issue with it, and said that's just how they are. while I am not a fan doing this, I have no recourse but to leave a bad review. There are other places to go, or, you can take a couple of Xanax and hope for the best. Not a happy customer, and they didn't seem to care. read more

I had such a terrible experience with Aitoro. Once I paid for my equipment, my sales rep simply wouldn't return my calls, my texts or my emails. I felt like they were holding my appliances hostage and not communicating when they would be delivered. I understand that there are delays due to the pandemic, but please just communicate this to your customers!! It ended up costing me money as my contractors would be on site waiting for equipment and it wouldn't get delivered. Ana was the only person who seemed to care. Unfortunately, a formerly top notch reseller of appliances has fallen. We bought a washing machine 10 years ago and the installation went with no problem. This year we replaced all of our kitchen appliances which were over two decades old. The problems started after the sale. The installations we were told would fit. They mis measured the ovens and told us they had to cut the cabinet below to make it fit. We lost about 20% of the cabinet but at least they did a good job. Then they installed the dishwasher, no problem. The refrigerator again was a problem as it was not measured correctly. So we took apart part of the cabinet to get it in, and then hired a carpenter to put it back together so it fit nicely. Last was the stovetop and ventilation fan which was the worst. First, the stovetop did not fit the granite counter, so they cut the counter to make it fit making a mess (but at least they made no mistakes). Then came the fan motor and they discovered it would not fit in the cabinet in the island. They suggested to put it in the ceiling of the bedroom downstairs in the basement which we rejected. Then they told us they could sell us an outdoor motor. However they told us they were unable to install it. So now we had to hire a contractor to do it and finish the job which we paid Aitoro to do. No refund for the not installed fan. Also, we found out that the installation of the stovetop was not great. Bolts were missing on the control box under the stovetop so it is flopping around and could break off. I supplied the screws, and it is now secured so I can complete the installation, but no thanks to the installation crew. I will think twice when the washing machine fails again and may go elsewhere as the installation is adequate but not much more. read more

Real people. Amazing. Emerald took my phone order for a massive grill with accessories and set it up using different payment methods with aplomb. Actually. Then, The Thursday comes, and I sleep in and miss the Aitoro guys delivering the monster. Brutal; huge snowstorm left mid calf high snow everywhere, and it's a haul around the back of the house through the snow. I wake up and there's the grill on the back deck, right exactly where I wanted to put it. And the creaking hulk of its predecessor, tolerated long beyond reason, was gone without a trace. And so were they. Pros, man, no whining, just got it done, and done right. OK, there's more. Of course I'm cooking immediately, but I have to use one of those extendo-o-lighters to fire it up because the Genesis can land on the moon electronic ignition isn't clicking, or lighting, but the gas works, so I get to eat my burger in the snow. Next day I call to get it working and am told someone will call me back. Doesn't happen. OK, they're busy; there has been a blizzard after all, and they're a hardware store trying to help people with issues unrelated to barbeques. So I ask for the owner and wait a bit and Tony A comes to the phone. He gets it, of course, right away, and after a little back and forth, Jeff shows up the next day and makes it happen. I've replaced the screen on my laptop after watching Youtube, but really was glad to see someone else connect the starter and fish the wires, avoiding the burners, and replace the hull of the beast, so now I don't have to worry about launching myself into a new zip code. Bottom line is there are real people there. I wanted to buy local. Weber doesn't abide any discount anyhow as far as I know so was especially glad to connect to a local vendor. Things inevitably arise in all situations, and when minor ones did in my case, the team at Aitoro knocked the doggone cover off the ball. That just doesn't happen unless competent people care. read more

Do not go to this store. They will be nice and return all calls and e-mails until they get you last payment. and then never get a call back. The delivery crew had to come to my house 3 times for installation. I had to take 3 days off of work. these people are a local monopoly and it shows. I paid in full and no one mentioned it would take 18 months to get a fridge! The sales person was super unresponsive and rude. When it finally came time to deliver, it took 3 days to install due to pure incompetence. Time and again they said one thing and did another. If you're buying a sub zero fridge, take the time to find another distributor! read more

When I had an inquiry about something after it was installed, their Service Manager, Eleni was very professional when working with me over the phone. Recently had a stove problem on an appliance I bought at Aitoto in Norwalk. They have multiple repair service providers and they gave me a number to call. Fair enough. When the service provider called me and told me the parts were in I offered to pick them up. Up until this point no company names have been provided so I went to Aitoro to get the parts and was sent to the wrong service provider. I dug for the number of the person that had called me, contacted them and picked up the parts wasting almost two hours of my time in the process. When I went back to Aitoro to tell them they'd given me the wrong vendor name and wasted a fair part of my day the receptionist blew me off saying they have no repair service - this is the same woman that gave sent me on a wild goose chase with the wrong vendor address to begin with. She was officious, incompetent, and unprofessional and clearly in the wrong job, she needs to be in a warehouse somewhere anywhere but dealing with customers. Mercifully, a second receptionist stepped in, apologized for the error they'd made and did her best to set things right. She gets 5 stars, the other one should be transferred to the warehouse... read more

Bought a $2,500 washer/dryer from this place. A month into using it, it leaked through the bottom and to the downstairs retail store. I told Aitoro. Guy came out alone, didn't know the unit was stacked. Said he needed someone else to help him lift the machine. Why didn't he know it was stacked? Service department told me "they didn't have the paperwork." He came back three weeks later (yes, three weeks) and "fixed it." Aitoro "technician" finally came out to fix it. Told me it was good to go. Washed some clothes, and then got an email from downstairs: it's leaking again. They just tried to come out and fix it again today. But did they tell me they were coming? Nope. Zero intra-company communication. I give them zero stars. read more

I needed repairs on both the oven and a new dishwasher. The repaid company sent the same guy four times, who kept telling me about a newly discovered problem. I called another company and they figure out the issue immediately. Mice had eaten electrical cords. They replaced them. Funniest thing, first they repaired the dishwasher. When they came to fix the oven, the original guy showed up at the exact same time. I sent him home and I will never buy at Aitoro again since they don't care about making sure what they sell you works. read more
