Wow, I tried to arrange for a service call for my Whirlpool Duet dryer, which I purchased from them and I spoke with a rude "call service" person. He would not give me any estimate regarding the cost of this standard repair (replace the idler pulley, belt, & rollers). In less than 5 minutes, he told me to do it myself and talk to Whirlpool directly. Sad that the repair team does not have the same standards as the sales team. read more

It's not that mistakes happen from time to time, what I look for with someone I'm buying from is how those mistakes are addressed and solved. COMPLETE FAILURE, including the ownership of this local appliance retailer. There are 3 aspects of replacing your appliances. 1) The order, 2) the delivery, and 3) the install. They managed to botch all 3 but what's worse, they didn't care. 1) Oh, we forgot to order that. Sorry, it's on back order for 3 more months. Zero absolutely awful wouldn't even give one star but it's required to post. happily supporting a local brick & mortar we bought a very expensive refrigerator. It arrived and freezer didn't close properly. We called salesperson told us to call GE . After GE came out and couldn't fix I spoke with the " customer service" agent at Aitoro telling her I didn't want a brand new damaged fridge she told me store couldn't do anything about it. Made her call GE with me (she didn't want to take the time) after I explained situation very nice GE agent suggested that my dealer should replace the unit" Aitoro's "customer service" person started screaming at GE and then hung up. I would give a zero if I could. Purchased a new dishwasher for my 100 year old father. February 2. It was delivered that week, but the parts to install it weren't there . . .so it is now March 3 and the dishwasher isn't installed yet. AND no one has told me when it will be installed . . Aitoro certainly has a range of appliances from the most expensive to lower end. We went in looking for an electric wall oven, having done a fair amount of research first. We were interested in looking at two high end ovens and one more down to earth. A greeter offered to get a sales person for us as soon as we walked in, but we chose to look around first. Having surveyed the store, we asked for assistance from a salesperson and one was called up. This salesperson was nearly useless. It was as though we were wasting this person's time, judging from the diffident and uninformative attitude. This person made no effort to sell anything -- did not offer to provide information, quotes, a business card, or follow up of any kind. We were not encouraged to buy from Aitoro. read more

Aitoro Appliance came highly recommended by a person whom I trust. I will not be able to make such a recommendation to family and friends. We purchased new kitchen appliances form Aitoro Appliance Company located in Norwalk Connecticut on February 2021. We purchased a refrigerator, range and dishwasher all made by Bosch. We also bought an XO range hood. In addition we purchased extended warranties on all three Bosch appliances. The refrigerator, range and range hood were delivered and installed on April 1, 2021. The dishwasher was installed on April 22, 2021. The first issue is that Aitoro charged our credit card on February 22, 2021, 39 days before the first appliances were delivered and a whole two months before the dishwasher was delivered. Once we made our selection, the salesman said "We offer a five year warranty; if you don't have a claim in five years; you get half of your money back". This led us to believe that the warranty was with Aitoro. At no time during the conversation was it disclosed that the warranty was with a third party. We were not given any material explaining the extended warranty We did not find out that the extended warranty was actually with a third party until we received a letter from Aitoro on August 20, 2021. The letter only lists two out of the three appliances for which we purchased extended warranties. The extended warranty Company has very poor reviews on-line. These poor reviews have been confirmed by my unsuccessful dealings with this company to get these issues corrected. I have tried to resolve these issues through Aitoro Appliance Company. I have made six phone calls. The first one I left a message with a person for the customer service representative to call me back. The other 5 were voice mail messages I left for the owner, Tony Aitoro. I also wrote him two letters and I stopped by the store, leaving a message with the receptionist. Tony actually called me back once, and left a voice message making it sound like he had been trying to call me repeatedly, which is a lie. Had he called, I would have seen it on caller id. But, I have to say this particular home renovation project Linda Gilmore was my contact at Aitoros and she went above and beyond the call of duty with my kitchen project. She spoke at length to both my kitchen design person as well as my contractor, we found a creative solution to work for my kitchen with the appliances I decided on. Bought an LG laundry center (washing machine and dryer tower) from them in Spring. They installed it incorrectly. Took us over a month to figure out the problem with our plumbing system stemmed from their bad installation and not from the work that our contractor was doing (coincidentally) at the same time. We were able to diagnose the problem ourselves after a fair bit of time and additional money spent, and then alerted Aitoro via email about their error and the appropriate fix...which their installers need to learn. Never heard a peep. I called them multiple times afterward but the manager, salesmen, service department all ignored my calls. They're fine if there's no problem but there is definitely no 'going the extra mile' there. Be cautious about them. read more

We renovated our kitchen in 2018 and, at that time, purchased new appliances totaling $25,000. Since then, we moved, decided to make a few additions to the new kitchen and returned to Aitoro's in 2020 to purchase more appliances. The second time, we spent another $5,000, for a total of $30,000 spent at Aitoro over the span of two years. Where am I going with this, you ask? Well, here's it is: While their salesmen are knowledgeable and eager to make the sale, they stop being helpful when you have a question, need help or have an issue with what you bought. For example, despite representations that we were getting the same ice maker we purchased for the renovation in 2018, the ice maker we just received is markedly cheaper (i.e., more cheaply made despite the same price). We discovered the difference during installation and called Aitoro to inquire. We explained to the receptionist that the electrician and plumber were standing by (literally, in our kitchen) and we needed to speak to someone immediately. She informed us, "all the salesmen are busy, but someone will call you back later this afternoon." We implored her again, explaining (again) that the appliance was on the verge of installation and we wanted to make sure it was the right one. Note also that this was the middle of the day, so her representation was suspect, at best. Regardless, that was two days ago and we still have not received a call. When lamenting our plight to the plumber, he chuckled. He has significant experience with Aitoro and observed that one of the receptionist's key objectives is to prevent salesmen from getting on the phone with customers. If they are chatting with someone not in the store, they are not making sales. Bottom line? Aitoro carries some fancy brands and the salesmen know their stuff. That said, the prices are nothing special and after-sale customer service is non-existent. My advice? Buy elsewhere. We certainly plan to. read more

I just had such an awesome experience at Aitoro! I'm starting a kitchen renovation and was told by my designer I needed to start with the appliances. I've never done this before and I was so overwhelmed! My Salesman Jesse couldn't have been more helpful! He was patient, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. I had know idea what I wanted and he did such a great job explaining all the differences between the major brands. Every brand has a live kitchen so I didn't just get to see and touch the appliances, Jesse gave me a live demo on the Thermador induction cooktop. I can't wait to have mine installed! read more

We are repeat customers with this company. In February We purchased a GE Advantium speed cook/micro/convection wall oven. We have had it for several weeks only. I used the oven on speed cook and condensation leaked out of the oven on both sides damaging the finish on both sides of the solid cherry cabinets it is installed in. I forwarded photos to the salesman who sent the photos to customer service who sent a GE repair guy to my house. He told me the unit can not be used on speed cook but for 5 minutes, and that's the way it is. Resigned to not using this feature, I put two potatoes in the oven and used the micro for 10 minutes. It happened again. I want this unit returned - it is defective. I want a different oven. I contacted the salesman, customer service manager called and told me that she, the salesman and the store manager reviewed my situation and would take it back with a 20% restocking fee. I explained I could not agree to that as I cannot use the oven. I got upset and she laughed at me and kept repeating that if I return something I have to pay the fee. I just lost it. I will take this company to better business bureau and small claims court if I have to. read more

When we moved to the area nearly 20 years ago, Aitoro was our local go-to for appliances. We always want to support our local businesses, so we chose Aitoro every time, where possible, over Home Depot for appliances. Sadly, over the years, the service and quality have declined so sharply that we can no longer support them. Just in the past year, we had Aitoro measure for a refrigerator. It was delivered and did not fit the space. We had it in the middle of our kitchen for months. Then, they recently delivered a new dryer, an Amana, which only works three out of four times, and they cannot repair or replace it for a week. Several years ago our downward spiral with Aitoro began when we ordered a fridge that had the footers torn and we didn't realize it until it was in. We also needed them to measure for a new stove. They sent someone more than once, and as time grew on, the measurements were no longer saved in the store so we continued to have to pay someone to measure this space, only to find that they did not have a stove to fit the space. Their service is no longer prompt or reliable. I'm sad to say that after this one dryer we need to be fixed or replaced, we are done with Aitoro. read more

Absolutely horrible experience. We spent over 16k on new appliances for our kitchen remodel and it has been 9 months of hell. The customer service is nonexistent. When we first went in it was all roses. Great attention, replies within hours to our questions. Etc. Made us feel like we had chosen the right place. WRONG! We were dealing with Jessie initially and since have been passed around and ignored by virtually all employees. Since we were aware we were doing this renovation during Covid, we went there months before the kitchen remodel started. In May we placed our order and told Jessie we would not be able to receive some appliances until mid July as that was when the renovation started. Some appliances we received immediately since the cabinet maker needed them. Well I guess Jessie decided not to order the remaining appliances until much later because our Thermador was on a huge backorder and we were without ovens for 3 months. That's not even the worst part. It is the complete lack of communication. Jessie initially replied to phone calls or emails within a day. While we were waiting to hear back about the oven delivery days and even weeks would go by without even a reply. We were then shifted to another rep and another. Finally we were told Monica, their white glove rep, would be taking over. Well she has been absolutely no help. In fact we even got some bullshit excuse her father has taken ill and she has been taking care of him. Of course I feel bad for her father, but instead of ignoring us, pass us to someone who can get the job done. We have since been passed on to another rep who consistently gives us excuses as to why she cant get back to us. We were told originally the ovens would arrive 2 weeks late (end of July). After weeks of trying to get someone to reply to us we were told mid August. Then again with no communication finally we were given an exact date in Sept. Well that date came and went and didn't receive the ovens until mid October. Which is ironically when other stores have told us if we placed our order TODAY we would get it. Also been told by other stores that they have been able to fill all orders placed May through June already. So this clearly means Jessie didn't put our order in correctly and if ovens have come in, perhaps they have been given to other customers instead of us. We are also still awaiting a fix on our new refrigerator. It was installed improperly and the handle broke off denting the front panel within days of getting it. We have been waiting 6 months for a replacement and again with the go-around. We were told last week the repair man has the new door panel and would be installing it Wed. I took off of work only to have been blown off by the service man.Furious, my husband emailed to reschedule and we were told "oh sorry he called out sick" Nice, don't tell customers waiting around. Well here I am again taking a day off of work,, was told he would be here between 9 and 11 and it is now 1 and he is still not here and not answering his phone. When spending over 16k on appliances one would assume stellar service. Not the case at all. We do understand there are extenuating circumstances, but not waiting 9 months for all appliances to be in and installed properly. For a family of 5 with 3 young children, this is making an already difficult time even more difficult. I will NEVER recommend Aitoro. Monica/Jessie/Rhonda need to learn what white glove service is. Telling a customer you'll get back to them tomorrow and then ignoring texts/emails/phone calls for weeks, to then give excuse after excuse is not white glove, in fact, it's insanely unprofessional. There are plenty of high end appliance stores in the area. Do yourself a favor and go to one of them. read more

The purchase was great- friendly and knowledgeable saleswoman but the repair department is awful. We bought our appliances there and less than a year later, we had a problem with our dishwasher- someone came out, did some adjustment and it worked for a while but then it got really noisy and my husband went in to speak to the owner. We are out of warranty but he agreed to pay for parts if we paid for labor. A guy came and said it was going to be about $200 for the labor and we paid $100 just for him to say that. Customer service is lacking- they are great before the purchase- then forget about it. I wanted to buy local but I have to say Lowe's gave me much better customer service. read more

In 2007, we purchased our kitchen appliances (Bosch and KitchenAid) from Aitoro as part of our kitchen remodel. We asked our salesman, John Pantalena, what he would recommend if his Mother was buying appliances. We were very pleased with the appliance quality and the overall price. For 9+ years we had no problems with any of the appliances. Ten days ago, the refrigerator and freezer developed a problem; we lost cooling in both. I called a local repairman who diagnosed the problem but I was not comfortable with his recommend repair. I then checked with the Aitoro/Macri Service manager, Bob, on how to proceed. Bob confirmed that we still had a parts warranty on the sealed system. He advised that based on the problem with the sealed system that the compressor should be replaced. He explained that they would need to look at the refrigerator to confirm the problem. Two days later, Paul came to my home to look at the refrigerator. He confirmed the problem was the loss of freon due to failure of a copper tube. He confirmed the solution was to replace the copper tube and compressor. He advised a 2 to 3 day time frame to get the parts from the manufacturer. Unfortunately, the factory was back-ordered on the copper tube but had the compressor. I was able to get the copper tube from an alternate source for $52.00 including two shipping. Paul came back to my home to complete the repair three business days after the initial diagnosis. He replaced the compressor and the copper tube as well as cleaning the area where the compressor was installed. Paul did the work very professionally and answered all of my questions about the repair process. Within 5 hours of the repair, both the refrigerator and freezer were back to their correct operating temperatures. This experience demonstrates the benefits of dealing with a well-established, local business. This experience also demonstrates how Aitoro takes care of its customers after the sale (even after 9 years). The service cost to repair my refrigerator was approximately $460 for labor and the part that I had to purchase. This is far better than spending ~$1300 for a replacement refrigerator. My compliments to Aitoro/Macri Appliance for being there to help me, especially Bob and Paul. Highest recommendation to Aitoro for both sales and service! read more

I am also all for supporting local and family owned businesses but this is worst customer service ever: Their communication and attitude towards customers is appalling. Similar to previous comments (unfortunately we didn't consult Yelp prior to looking for a repair service), we've had three unsuccessful attempts to repair our Viking oven. The oven didn't heat evenly and after two expensive attempts to fix it we then were advised to order another spare part. Our third scheduled repair service did not show up twice on the scheduled time / day. when he finally arrived the technician (Jim) claimed that the company had ordered the wrong part and he had 'temporarily' fixed the oven, but we needed to order the right part. After having spent $ 616 on the two previous repair attempts we are now giving up on their services and are asking the company to repay us. Please be aware that their guarantee on any repair only lasts 30 days! There is no written communication (email anyone?) and apparently no records are being kept that are easily accessible over phone. The communication ranges from unpolite to extremely rude. read more

Great place to buy a any appliance!! They stand by their product as well as their installation/repair. I purchased a very expensive Sub-Zero frig (Replacing an very old one) and from dealing with the salesman to the delivery/installation(very tricky installation) they couldn't have be any better. Recently I replaced a very old stove with a GE ceramic top stove and over-top microwave which we love!! My daughter knocked over a jar of red sauce while cooking and cracked the ceramic top which meant it needed to replaced.... I was not happy $$$ . I called my salesman Joseph Land to see what he could do because it was only 6 month old. He was able to get me one for free from his GE guy(delivered to me the next day!!!) and all I had to pay for was the installation (which was not much) I WAS VERY PLEASED AND HAPPY to say the least. Years past we have purchased (washers/Dryers.. etc) from the other big appliance store in Danbury,Ct and there was always a problem or an ordeal. Aitoro Appliance took an order for a $10k Sub Zero, and then informed us that there was a long back order. After several weeks of confusion, an $8000 plus Bertazonni 30" refrigerator was ordered. Upon delivery it was discovered: the salesman forgot to order handles, the ice maker was delivered and installed broken and one of the three lights were broken. Aitoro technicians were too confused by the confusing Bertazonni menu to properly complete the installation and would not or could not service the damaged unit. It's been three weeks. We are still waiting for the Bertazonni specific repairman to show up, but we're told it's another week. Still no handles. Before spending big on an appliance, please consider how poor Aitoro is after point of sale. They have been awful and very poor communicators. In addition, the Bertazonni, at over $8000 seems very poorly constructed with almost no service support. Hope this is helpful and that it enables you to avoid the same frustration. read more

While my interactions with Aitoro's appliance sales have always been good, I used Macri appliance repairs which handles their repairs for my appliances and have been quite let down. They told me I needed over $2500 of repairs on my 12 year old built in fridge- I took a chance and had someone else come out to look at it and w/in an hour and for less than $200 it was fixed. Several years ago I had Macri look at my broken largest burner on my gas range- they told me it wasn't worth repairing since it was a sealed burner and would cost more than $700 to repair. For 5+ years I used the other 4 burners and assumed at some point I'd replace the range. After the refrigerator repair I had the same company look at the range- fixed for under $200.00. I don't know if Macri is simply not competent or if the relationship w/Aitoro's causes them to push people to buying a new one but I came "this" close to buying a $10,000 refrigerator and $2000 range that would've been for naught read more

STAY AWAY. Within last few months I bought two appliances, neither lived up to expectations but the second, a new $3000 GE Fridge did not work correctly from day one. In under 4 months I have had to endure 5 service appointments (4 hour time window each) gone through multiple repairs for the same issues and as of today the two problems are not resolved. Airtoro has been non reponsive and uncaring to my suffering and push me back to the manufacturer repeatedly, they do NOT stand behing what they sell or seem to care about customer suffering as a result of buying a defective fridge from them...I was trying to buy local and do a good thing..lesson learned when it comes to this store. read more

The store is magnificent and has all of the latest electronics and appliances to meet your needs. My organization rented this place out for an event once and it turned out perfect. We went thru the store and afterwards he indicated that we would be hearing from him shortly. Two weeks have passed and can't get any information. Tried to call and email but nothing but crickets. Called last week and spoke to one of the managers, Anthony, who promised that Jesse would call. Still nothing. Oh, it also turns out that one of the employees in the store had tested positive for Covid the day before we were in the store. It would have been considerate if that had been mentioned but again nothing. We mentioned that my wife was interior decorator - you would think they would have been accommodating since not only was our business at play but also my wife's customers. He promised it would be delivered and installed on a certain day and sure enough for once it actually was. 1-star rating because customer contact (my wife and I) AFTER the sale was abysmal, and isn't getting better as the time goes on 11 months later now as we wait for ANY status of our missing wall oven. We ordered right at the start of the global supply-chain fiasco in May 2020, and we accounted for this as we waited, and waited....all other kitchen components came in except the wall oven, and regular calls to get a status are either directed to an answering-machine of an associate who RARELY, rarely, returns calls. In one instance of a missing LP-conversion kit that we needed to use our installed cooktop, I finally searched and found the item in-stock elsewhere and learned I could have it in a couple of days. I called Aitoro to alert them of this, and Lo! It JUST HAPPENED to have shown up in their warehouse THAT DAY. It still took over a week to ship it to me, and I live a 30-min drive away. So the latest (over 2 months old now) word we have is that WE are now #1 on the list to receive the next oven that comes in the door. Every call since then results in the classic "We'll call you right back...". It's just not that hard to make a regular call to customers who have paid you good money to VOLUNTEER an update on their missing appliance. read more

I've ordered many appliances from Aitoro over the years. It was a family owned, local business with good prices and exceptional service, but that has changed. Delivery of my oven was totally screwed up. The GE oven was defective out of the box, it was visibly damaged and didn't work, but they still installed it and Aitoro refused to take responsibility, just referred me to GE factory service, which took a few weeks to get the needed parts and fix it. Aitoro installed a new, defective, unworkable oven and refused to just replace it. I paid for a new oven and ended up with a repaired one. The installers destroyed my old, working oven when they removed it, so I could not ask for them to just take the bad one back and put the old one in its original place. They took the position that it was a warranty issue, but would you expect to pay for a new car that was totally useless and could not even be driven off the dealer's lot the day you bought it? A responsible local company would have just taken the bad oven back on day 1 and replaced it with a new one out of stock, and then dealt with GE on their own. read more

This is the best appliance store hands down. I called Ron in Refrigerators and he knew so much and helped me 100% - outstanding. I ordered the refrigerator just days ago and it is now in my kitchen! Since I live in a small studio I was so worried amount it fitting into the small space but Ron knew just what I was talking about and it is perfect. I can't believe the great customer service -- especially nowadays. Great customer service exists here. Plus the delivery men were so efficient and cheerful. A+ all the way. we have purchased two major appliances from Aitoro in the past 18 months, a GE dishwasher a little over a year ago, and a new GE electric induction stove (replacing a range that was about 25 years old). In both situations, we were very pleased with the experience from sales through installation. Aitoro sales staff is very knowledgeable and helped us sort through our decision for two pretty expensive purchases. We are willing to pay for an appliance while, not necessarily the absolute top of the line, is at the nicer end of the range -- especially if it is likely to be more reliable. In the past, we have sometimes gone for Bosch or Miele or other "Rolls Royce" brands, only to be disappointed. Aitoro sales staff seemed to understand our priorities and to be able to advise us. Our GE dishwasher is terrific, and we hope that our GE induction stove makes us equally happy. Both appliances were installed by Joe and his team, and they did a terrific job -- efficient, professional, cleaned up after the installation. In the case of our stove, although a 30" model was replacing a 30" model, the countertop needed to be trimmed for the replacement stove (a story not worth going into). Joe knew someone who could do this and who arrived the next day. Until that time, Joe wired the stove for use, and then returned to complete the job. My husband and I have been buying appliances from Aitoro for many years, having lived in three different houses. We were happy with them until now. Three and a half years ago we bought a new Maytag refrigerator after the older one that came with our latest house when we bought it died. We take good care of it and don't abuse it at all, but we've had a number of problems with it, which we've tried to live with. Last week, one of the door hinges broke off and I called their repair department. The woman I spoke to was incredibly rude.
