The special. Looks ok. Tempura was only thing above average. $29!

Well buyer beware. Went here for the first time when I saw the sign that said bento box lunch special. My experience with most lunch specials especially Asian food is a value and around $15. Let's just say inflation is a bigger bitch than I thought! Can't blame egg prices since it was just miso soup not egg drop. Also didn't know one protein was more than another. The sign offered no pricing information. That's what I get for not asking and now I know why they didn't list a price! Rubbery bbq beef ribs were $29.00! Wow! Asked if I could substitute the CA rolls since I don't do seafood for an extra piece of tempura and was told sorry price imbalance cannot do it. Salad was incredibly bland and dressing was like orange water. Food was 3 stars service 3 stars ambiance 2 stars and value one or zero stars. Shame on me for not inquiring about the price and shame on them for not listing it. Not an accident for sure. Two lunch specials with one can of Coke was $62 before tip! No wonder the place was completely empty.

WOW, just wow! I can't believe I haven't been here before. It's not that far from me, and it's in this quaint location in PVE. I can't say enough good things about this place. The fish is incredibly fresh. The flavors are so well layered and even on seemingly heavier dishes there's a light finish in each dish. Really unique combinations that all compliment one another from dish to dish. I will definitely be back, many many times!

Hey, I love a good bento box, and you'll find that here. I had the bulgogi lunch special, which comes with 4 California rolls, vegetable tempura, ginger salad, and white rice (no brown rice, I asked). It was pretty good. The bulgogi was tasty. I'll have to try the galbi lunch special next time. I dined outside at one of their 2 outdoor tables. There's also dining indoors and a lot of take out orders. There's definitely high foot traffic during the week, due to the local high school. No need to worry about parking. There's plenty of free parking.

Sushi Rice was extremely dry, and some pieces are hard. I can't justify paying 35 dollars for them.

Nestled in the cove of Lunada Bay, this local sushi spot is truly a gem for our community. With some of the freshest fish in the south bay, this restaurant truly provides a dining experience second to none. The decorations make you feel like your back in Japan and the service is just as you'd expect from the Japanese. Amazing food, service, and vibes! The albacore sashimi, yellowtail carpaccio and fire cracker roll were our favorites! The tuna poke was also new to me and something unique.

After a nice hike through Palos Verdes my Mom and I came here since it was a convenient stop on our drive down the 15 mi scenic route through Rancho Pales Verdes. The little food center here is super cute. The baseball and football teams were all out and about grabbing a post-game meal at the pizza place and deli shop. The sushi shop was a little more quiet but still got people coming in regularly. We got a nice seat outside with my pup. The chairs had nice cushions but were a little uncomfortable for my back. The service was very friendly, however it took a bit of time and a second request to get our drinks. It took much longer than I'm used to waiting to get our food even though they weren't that busy and our orders were simple. But when the food came it was great. The tempura had acorn squash which was a yummy sunrise, but not the fried onion that's my Mom's favorite. The dressing on the salad was a bit watery and not as good as I've had before. The bulgogi was great, my Mon said and the spicy tuna roll too. I had the rainbow roll which hit the spot. It had a little sweet sauce on the bottom which was a pleasant surprise that I'm not used to on rainbow rolls. I could have done without the red and green onions on top. And the fish didn't seem super fresh since it didn't have that ultra vibrant color and stick to the sushi. I definitely don't recommend a roll with a lot of shrimp on top, since the one piece I had with shrimp was super rubbery and in-fresh feeling. The avocado and tuna were the best in my opinion. The food and environment together make this a great sushi stop on the scenic highway, but I'd try another sushi place next time I'm in the area. If this place had great low prices then it would be great, but since it costs as much as pristine sushi I've had before, it just doesn't measure up.

My daughter wanted to eat sushi today and we had just finished a nice walk through the Palos Verde Estates so we looked for sushi options and found this one. We had our dog with us so we were seated outside on the patio and my daughter ordered the rainbow roll and I had the bento box because I like to try lots of different things and I love tempura. It took a little bit longer than I thought it should get our food but once it came I quickly forgot that. I had the miso soup to start and then I received the bento box with Bulgogi. If you've never tried Bulgogi it's a Korean thinly sliced beef with onions and mushrooms and a delicious sauce. Terrible Gogi was wonderful and The vegetable tempura was exceptional. There were three kinds of squashes and a shrimp and a nice pond zoo sauce to dip in. The only disappointment of the entire meal was their salad dressing. I was surprised that it was very watery and tasteless. I think it would help if they made a thicker dressing. I upgraded from the California roll to the spicy tuna roll for a dollar. I was a little disappointed that they were only two for tiny pieces of sushi but they were good. The bento box was a substantial amount of food so it was a good value and I took home a little bit at the Bulgogi because I ordered the green tea ice cream, which cannot be passed up.If you've never had a green tea ice cream you're completely missing out. It's one of the best flavors on the planet because it's not overly sweet and if your dairy lover like I am it satisfies that craving for whole milk rich dairy. It was a fair price for an ample serving. My daughter enjoyed her favorite sushi roll, the rainbow roll, and remarked that the sweet sauce that it came with was a special surprise. This is a wonderful place in a small neighborhood to eat if you happen to be in this neck of the woods. The only reason it didn't get five stars is because of the tasteless salad dressing. There were lots of families enjoying the restaurant and it just had a good small local town feel to it. It was a delightful experience and I'm glad we came here.

It's filling and authentic. I do wish they had a happy hour for lunch though. The prices were a bit steep so I didn't get to try everything I wanted, but what I did have was delicious.

They are super nice and helpful! The place is kind of like a mom and pop shop, super cute and cozy but small. And the food is so yummy the salmon just melts inf your mouth and I haven't been disappointed

The yellowtail sashimi was clean and delicate, with a nice fresh flavor and smooth texture. The spicy tuna hand roll was also great -- good spice level and the seaweed was still crisp, which always makes a difference. The albacore "double double" was probably the standout. Rich, buttery, and well balanced with the toppings without overpowering the fish. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. We also tried a specialty roll that had a nice crunch and texture contrast, and it paired perfectly with a Sapporo. Simple but satisfying. Service was friendly and attentive, and the pacing of the meal felt relaxed without long waits between dishes. The atmosphere is comfortable and low-key, easy place to sit and actually enjoy your food and conversation. Overall a very enjoyable dinner. Solid quality fish, good service, and a place I'd come back to when craving sushi. Easy 4/5.
