A small sushi restaurant in the middle of a strip mall. Doesn't sound good right? WRONG! The fish was delicious and tasted so fresh I swear I could hear the ocean! The atmosphere and decorations make you feel like you're somewhere other than on Columbia Center Blvd. My wife and I sat at the bar so we could watch the chefs work and talk to them about their craft. These chefs are artists and it showed in the nigiri omakase that we ordered. Delicious slices of fish, some familiar and some we've never tried (GEODUCK!). It was my first time there but it seems like they will be getting different seafood in periodically. Unfortunately they had ran out of Uni when we ate there but that must mean it was good. Aki Sushi Is the best sushi that I found in the Tri-Cities. They literally make the best absolutely the best shrimp tempura. I am from the west side of Washington so I'm used to eating sushi and I was concerned when I moved here that I would not find a good sushi restaurant. Aki Sushi Will not disappoint. Their service is terrific always checking to see if your table needs anything making sure that all your wants and needs are met. I like this place. I still like Sushi-ya, but something has changed there. I've gone in for lunch a couple times because their lunch specials and options is a good deal. I love getting vegetable and shrimp tempura, miso soup, katsu, and of course sushi. My sister and boyfriend were visiting from the Seattle side and were looking for a teriyaki place. They normally go to Sushi Ring which is really good and about $28 for the all you can eat menu. I suggested we go here and they can order teriyaki. We met around 4:30 pm, which was awesome because I didn't know they had a happy hour menu! Great deals! He got the Godzilla and Mexican roll, my sis got curry katsu and some other thing. My husband and I got got a 2 of the same new roll (? with salmon, crunchy shrimp, spicy), and my daughters got chicken katsu and crunch rolls. The restaurant was pretty empty at first, but my sister said as soon as the "open" light turned on, other people started coming out their cars. It got full quickly. Our orders took a long time and came out at different times even though we were early. It was really good, but our guests have better options on the west side. Personally I like pictures and don't care for the clipboard menu, but they are descriptive. I'm always up for sushi and look forward to another visit! read more

The people working here also seem to be Japanese, and it shows in their dedication to perfection! Everything that was brought out to me was perfect. Our Server Mona was an absolute angel as a waiter, she kept checking up on us and making sure our food was yummy and arrived on time. Our food was FRESH, TASTY, and soooo FILLING! Even when they were at about pretty much closing time when we decided to order one more round of Gyoza and it came out perfectly even at closing time! Have eaten Shusi all over the US and this place is my favorite, We went during happy hour and each had a shrimp tempura appetizer, and shared a crunchy roll and a california roll. I got a beer wife drank water. We were totally stuffed with delicious food for $22. The sushi was delicious. We will go back again during the week we are here in the Tri Cities Area. I was searching for a sushi place open on a Sunday. This place had 5 star reviews, so I tried it out. I got a to go order with a Rainbow Roll and Spicy Tuna roll. Well priced for the amount of food. I also tried the blue fin shashimi, delicious. While I waited for my order the staff was friendly and made conversation with me. The food is good. But the service not so much. Assuming the server pays attention to you, the servers get upset over small problems and create an uncomfortable tension throughout the experience. I wish I could say this is a one time thing but after multiple visits it is the same reoccurring issue with multiple servers. I loved this place! We just moved to the Tri Cities and we have been looking for a great sushi/ramen place and this is it! It's a little pricey, but for the amount of food you get it's worth it. I tried the spicy tuna roll and gyoza. The spicy tuna was decently spicy and the gyoza was homemade and soft. My husband tried one of the ramen bowls and he loved it.
