After an afternoon on the water, we sped back to Akwa for conversations, cocktails, dinner. Our Recommendations: Lobster Roll & Calamari. The service was great, the food fresh and really good, the atmosphere relaxed.

We really enjoyed our food and our server Eileen was excellent. Really cute beach bar and would definitely recommend if you are looking for outdoor seating with a nice view. We got the haddock, lobster roll, and oysters. Everything was fresh, seasoned well, and delicious. No complaints at all regarding food. 3 stars due to the drinks being so expensive! $12 for their blueberry basil lemonade and we asked for Tito's. If you ask for grey goose it would cost even more. A little outrageous for the area. Nightclubs in Boston charge $12-15/drink so we were expecting no more than $10 but it really should have been priced at around $8/drink.

This place serves up bar bites and cocktails right on the lake next to a small yacht club. We came here twice during our weekend stay in the area. The first time was decent, we sat right at the bar and were attended to pretty quickly. I had a Pina Colada and a Mudslide - they were both pretty strong and good but were way too ice-y to drink through a straw and, at about $12 a cocktail, not a bargain. Overall, the menu is a little pricey for what it is. The SECOND time we came here was pretty disappointing. We decided to sit a table rather than sit at the bar and had to wait about 30 minutes before somebody took our order. We had waitstaff walk by us multiple times without acknowledging us and the bar wasn't even very full. I actually had to get up and grab our menus. After all that, they told my friends they couldn't make a Miami Vice (even though they could make a pina colada and daiquiri separately). The main (and maybe only) thing this place has going for it is it's scenic location.

So this place is ultimately a beach bar located within a marina club. We arrived shortly after 6 and there weren't any shaded tables available on the lawn near the ocean, so we had to sit inside of the large gazebo beach bar. It's a cool concept it's all open air with clear fiberglass windows by the tables, the bar is a large boat and there's plenty of fresh air. It was extremely busy and the bar was packed but we were right in our assumption that it was a large group of people, boaters, and boy were they loud - in normal circumstances Thai is no big deal but it was difficult to communicate with our waitress as she had a mask on. The place although outdoors, had a ton of spider webs and could use a little cleaning, wasn't filthy and I get it is outside but it was just in need of it. The food and drinks were okay. My painkiller was strong which I enjoyed. The chicken nuggets seemed burnt. My fish tacos were actually pretty yummy!

Good food. Limited menu. Place is a bit Pricey. For the most part they have fried Fish, lobster roll, chicken sandwich and hamburger. A few other things. Cool stop to grab a drink at the yacht shaped bar.

Prefer Naz Bar! Jamaicans friendlier, food bettor, music bettor, pricey average bar food and pricey drinks. No imagination!

On our first visit, I had the Beet and Feta Salad with Grilled Salmon. It was fantastic, and one of my favorite meals of the entire trip. The salad was extremely fresh, with greens from local farmers. It was the best lettuce I've ever had, and when I tried to find out what kind it was, I wish told it was spring mix. It didn't look like any spring mix I've ever had, but it was such sweet, delicious and crunchy lettuce. The beets were also great, with both red and golden varieties. The salmon was cooked absolutely perfect. My dining partner got the Duck Confit Tacos. He did not care for that for a number of different reasons. In the first place, it should've been served on a different type of plate, as it was very messy and most of it was falling off the very narrow plate. He doesn't like a lot of mess. It likely would have been better had they left all the toppings off, to add them as you want them. There was way too much on top of the duck, which buried the taste. It was impossible to pick up, and very difficult to eat with a knife and fork. Plus they added too much cheese, and he doesn't like cheese much. It was not a dish he would order again. On our next visit, I had the Seafood Linguine. It came packed with fresh seafood with lots of mussels. It was a very generous portion, with plenty to take home for another meal. My partner had the grilled burger, which he quickly devoured. He said that was one great burger! On our next visit, we stopped in for a late lunch. It was a dreary, rainy day, and the weather was on the cool side. So we opted for soup. My partner got the Clam Chowder and I opted for the French Onion. They both hit the spot. My partner loved that burger so much, he ordered it again. I opted for a Grilled Veggie Sandwich, which was not as good as my salad choice a few nights earlier, but it was OK. All in all, we enjoyed all three of our visits here. I'd be happy to return again when in the area.

Two burgers ordered medium were instead cooked well done, and a veggie bowl with rice was served with the most poorly cooked rice I've ever seen in a restaurant. It was a solid bowl-shaped mound of gummy rice mush. And when I asked if there was a non-dairy alternative to the naan it should have come with, I was told no but I suspect the waiter just didn't want to ask. The restaurant itself was nice enough, but we were seated near the bar, which was noisier than I would have preferred. (Mostly from the very chatty bartender) I'm sure they would have preferred being told at the time, but I wasn't interested in sending back 3 out of 5 meals. But eating out has gotten too expensive to accept meals that poor. It was $190 with tip for five. (No alcohol, but 3 mocktails) My son liked the Thai salmon.

Service was great, especially considering how busy it was. The ladies behind the bar kept things moving! We ordered drinks (excellent Manhattan, btw) and some food. While waiting for the food, we had a nice chat with two locals who have lived here all their lives and that contributed to the fun vibe of the place. You hear about taciturn folks in the Northeast but we had several people talk to us, but then again, maybe we stuck out and everyone could easily tell we weren't local. In any event, it was lovely. The food was good too. Shrimp cocktail was on point but the highlight were the chicken tenders. The portion was gigantic...we were expecting maybe four tenders and there were something like eight! They were fried perfectly too. Crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside....really well done. As we were leaving, there were people already waiting for tables so this must be a very popular place to eat and based on my experience (friendly environment, great service, terrific food) it's not hard to see why. Definitely check out The Breeze if you're in the area.
