Carol help me pick beautiful "cashmere" carpet for two bedrooms. It was installed within a week after the carpet was ordered. At the time of installation, the old carpet padding adhered to the wood floor underneath. Bob and Cindy spent the extra time needed to remove the adhered padding and ensure a clean surface for the new carpet and pad. Bob also recommended carpet inside the closet that I didn't plan to carpet. I'm so glad he recommended it - looks great! Nice people, good prices and super service. read more

Bob is a sweetheart, and very responsive. His prices are great and we are happy with the quality of our carpet and the install this far, it's only been about a month. The service, other than Bob, is very dull and almost rude. The work of the installers was fast and efficient but you'll have to insist they wear a mask (and PROPERLY) or they will not, and they let you know they aren't happy about it. I let them know they could leave at any time if they didn't want to wear the mask, I'm not forcing anyone, but if they work on my house they must wear it...I mean we are In a Pandemic after all so I don't feel that's an unreasonable request. So, in short, we were happy with work and prices. In respect to customer service from the showroom and workers, we were very unhappy. Bob himself was a pleasure to work with. read more

Outstanding service and excellent installation. We had them install flooring in our townhome and they were honest and the price was reasonable. We also had them install flooring in our parents senior living unit. Again, the service they gave my parents and the installation was fantastic. The quality of their products was superior and they dis everything to please us and make sure we were happy. They gave helpful suggestions when we asked their opinion and the outcome was successful. These guys did a great job for me. I had a couple of companies with high ratings on yelp, Come out to give me estimates for carpet. One from eagle rock that I thought would be the cheapest and AL and Bob because they had the best reviews for doing the best job. AL and Bobs price was the same as the other company that had complaints about workers being late , disrespectful and leaving a mess. So I went with AL and Bob and was very happy. Charming like 1940s Germany...or 1960s Alabama (depending on who you ask). Extremely unfriendly to the point that any right-minded person would stray away from having anything to do with their business. I actually had checked out his work beforehand at a nearby cousin's house who originally recommended me, nothing special as I am in the commercial real estate industry myself and the craftsmanship is nothing that any other vendor can perform. Do NOT let these know-it-all, "I am above you" types boss you around like Bob tried to. Every single employee clearly has a stick up their...and the store is almost always empty and cold (for a reason). Bob wasted my time, after making two separate trips per his request to go over materials, when I started writing the check he says to me "So I'll sell you the material but I won't install it for you"..."Oh..." I replied. "Why not?" He says "Because I won't, I don't want to"--Alrighty then! Online retailers like Build have most of their wood products at better prices as well as financing with 0 down/ interest free for 12 months and in my case a $100 off coupon for new purchases. They allowed me to take home the carpet sample panel to choose the correct color. The family team arrived on schedule and work diligently until the work was completed. We did an extensive renovation to our house about three years ago. We thought we would give Al and Bobs the job because they are local and we would rather spend our money locally. Boy, if I only had that decision to make again I would have gone with one of the Corporate giants like Home Depot or Lowes; at least I would have some recourse for the poor installation. About three months after installing what I was assured was a great floor from Mohawk, the end joints of the laminate flooring started to unlock. Bob sent the installers out on three different occasions to fix the issue yet the end joints keep coming apart. Now he tells me it's my problem because he can't afford to pay for the repair! The installer that he sent have gone out of business so it's up to me to pay to have someone else fix the problem. Frankly, it sounds like they are about to close the doors anyway so I would strongly recommend that you not spend your money here. read more

I called up Al & Bob's cause I recently had my stair railing redone and they had to rip up all the carpet. Bob was able to come check it out in person and give me a very reasonable estimate to reinstall it. We booked Bob's guys to come as soon as the painting was done and they got it done within a day. Besides them doing a good job, Bob is one heck of a nice guy. If you need carpet, go support this local small business who cares! read more

Called to ask for a donation for empty carpet rolls, to use for VBS at our church this year and Cindy, who answered the phone, was so sweet & accommodating! They donated two 12ft rolls to us and I'm sure they would have donated more but that was more than enough. When picking up, the owner Bob spoke to me for a few minutes, had some great conversation and he was such a sweet gentleman. As far as the staff goes... great!! read more

Local, independent owners who make carpet buying and installation fast and easy. Needed new carpeting for a bedroom by the end of the week. Walked in, made a selection, and all installed in two days. And the cost for everything, carpet, installation and taxes, was even cheaper than what my contractor was going to charge for labor alone! Bob and a helper came out to measure and install and they treated you like family. As he mentioned, he installs as if it was for his own home. Would definitely use them again and again! He was kind and professional and had his store call the very next day with an extremely reasonable price. He installed the carpet himself with his daughter and they did an fantastic job. Bob is absolutely the BEST. I've had A&B's out to my house several times to install carpet and they also have very competitive prices. They ARE "old school," which means they install carpet the right way. You won't find anyone in LA who can do a better job. Seams are seamless and you can't see them, edges are sewn when they need to be sewn -- they do a fabulous job. And they know just about everything there is to know about carpets.
