I was hesitant going into this meal since the inside feels almost fast food like. They are open super late which made it one of my last options for food. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and overall taste of the food. They had really good hummus and dolma. They have several vegetarian options! I wanted to love this place. It has a warm and friendly feel, and the guys working there were very nice. I ordered the falafel plate, the fatoush salad, the greek fries and a baklava, for 2 of us to take for a picnic. First, the good. The falafel and baba ghanoush were the best I have ever had. The falafel balls were crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside, with a spicy flavor. Delicious! But next time I will get the sandwich, as the plate was awkward to eat outside. Likewise, the baba ghanoush was silky and smoky. The greek fries were ok. The sauce cools down the fries very quickly, and the fries are frozen, so I dont think I would order that again. The fatoush salad was what I ordered for my entree, and it was a huge disappointment. There was little or no dressing, and the pita bread pieces were hard as rocks. Very affordable compared to other nearby options. I appreciate that they are open late and that they have vegan and vegetarian options. I got the chicken gyro plate and it was... okay. Nothing stood out to me as exceptionally noteworthy. There wasn't any new cashier / line organization to provide "social distancing" in the era of covid-19. My partner didn't know where to stand in order to be 6 feet away from other customers and apparently chose the "wrong" side of the cash register -- so the employee watched while 4 other customers who had arrived later went first. The line was not spaced out to provide distance. When I attempted to back up, customers began cutting in line again. Customers were also sitting in relatively close proximity -- by default the tables in the restaurant are small and close together, and nothing had been done to discourage people from sitting at adjacent tables. If the restaurant had been packed with customers who were all angrily standing around with nowhere to sit, that would have been more understandable. However, there were only a few customers in the restaurant and there would've been plenty of space for them to have been at tables which were more spread out. read more

I'm from out of town, from Portland and I'm in Seattle for work - we've hit this spot practically every night for dinner. The food is cooked JUST right, with so much flavor and attention to detail you can taste the respect and skill these guys bring to their craft. Seriously there is no Mediterranean food this good where I live. The falafel is the best I've ever had with a super crunchy outside and soft, warm inside- I've gotten it every time. I went with the classic lamb gyro most nights and the lamb plate when I was extra hungry. Super fresh ingredients with nice portions and fair prices, open mad late with excellent service to boot, Omar always went above and beyond to make sure we were loving our meal. Wow! Picked up a late lunch just now and was blown away by how good it is! I ordered online and picked up. Found a shady parking spot and inhaled my mixed grill (I got extra salad instead of rice) and some babaganouj. The portion is generous! The meats (lamb, chicken and kofta) were cooked perfectly and very juicy and delicious. I am always a little hesitant about chicken kebabs as they can be dry but these were PERFECTLY juicy and delicous. The salad was crunch and refreshing. The hummus was smooth and delicous. Do not listen to the good reviews about this place!!! This is the most disappointing meal I've had in seattle and trust me I've had the worst of the worst. Chicken shawarma is BLAND. The falafel gyro was by far the most disgusting thing I have ever put in my mouth. It was covered in old lettuce that looked sad and red. The falafel itself tasted like chemicals. My baklava was so soggy too. It was a sad meal. Greek fries were nothing special. This restaurant is amazing in every aspect of it. the people working their are great and friendly, food is authentic; for first time since I've moved to Seattle I could find a restaurant serving Jordanian cuisine at this quality. they have been in business for almost a year, so I regret every day passed without me hearing of them earlier. Al Basha hits 5 stars for multiple reasons - 1) the food is great - solid Arabic eats coming from a primarily Lebanese/Syrian flavor with some Egyptian classics in there 2) the service is friendly 3) it's open late - I'm pretty sure til 3 am on the weekends 4) it's cheap!! Sandwiches are all under $10 and leave me very satisfied. Overall Al Basha is one of my primary go-tos in the neighborhood - if you've been to shawarma king on the ave, it's pretty similar. Can't say I've been disappointed here, i usually go for the kofta or kabab, but the falafel is super awesome as well. It was the first time my wife and I visited Seattle. Right when we landed at 10:30 pm we decided to visit Downtown Seattle and we were looking for some good places to eat. There was a lot of hype about Al Basha which lies right in the heart of Downtown Seattle so We decided to give it a try. There was a long line at midnight so we knew this place was popular. However, there wasn't a lot of staff to compensate for the long lines. There was basically one person taking all of the orders and making all the food. He seemed stressed but very diligent and did his very best to get us the food quickly. The food tasted like authentic Halal food! We have never tasted true Halal (not sure if Halal Guys is truly Halal) and it was an interesting experience. The hummus and baba ghanouj tasted good much different from what you get at naf naf or pita inn. As for entrees, I got the gyros plate. However, they ran out of lamb and beef so I settled for chicken. The chicken was a little dry and for the most part the food was alright. My wife got the shwarma salad with beef. This was much better but the beef was a little too tender. I could see the food being good late night food after a night of heavy drinking. Slimy business practices. I ordered the daily special and was rung up for $4 more than the posted price. They refused to fix the overcharge after I pointed it out--they said the price was increased months ago but they haven't gotten around to updating the menus. Beware the descriptions when ordering online, they are wrong and don't actually reflect what you will be getting. Also, the Greek fries they advertise are just plain French fries. Seattle doesn't have a lot of great middle eastern food, so when walking around Belltown, and seeing the menu on this restaurant has things like lamb shanks, I had to try it out. I went at a weird time, so there wasn't any one there, so it did take a long time any one to see me but over all the service was good. I decided on the mixed grilled plate so I could have a try of a lot of different things, came with grill beef, lamb, chicken, and kabobs, on a bed of rices, with hummus and a salad. The food was pretty good, and when I showed the picture to a Egyptian friend they said it looked really authentic so I want to take them back here for them to try. read more
