I am not happy with my experience. I was dining in and ordered two small pizzas and a beverage, which I selected off the menu that I was given. When it was time to pay, I was charged $14 more than the prices on the menu. I questioned the cashier about adjusting the price to align with the menu and he refused. He said the prices were old. First time there. Got two slices. They were good but nothing special. If I was hungry and in the area I would go there again.

Went in to try something new. Ordered an Italian combo sub with onion and hot peppers and a bottle of bite coke. The counter guy was on the phone so this other guy who obviously didn't know how to use the register helped me. He rung me up, asked the guy on the phone if it was the right amount, the guy shrugged him off and then I proceeded to be charged $20 for my order. The only nice thing I can say about the sandwich is that it looked good from across the room. My Italian combo was served with turkey, baked ham, something that I think was supposed to be salami and American cheese. The quality of the cold cuts was remarkable in the worst way. I've worked in delis before. I'm a lifetime sandwich eater. I can confidently say that the *ONLY* place I know of with cold cuts this bad was my middle school cafeteria. I can't speak on much else. The pizza behind the counter looked good, but if it's anything like the sandwich, it's probably best enjoyed from afar. TLDR: Don't bother. read more

I've ordered from here three times (via Grubhub) and it has been great. First time I ordered an anchovy pizza which was exactly what it needed to be in terms of toppings, cook on the pizza, texture, etc. Second time I ordered the penne vodka with chicken. I was shocked to find that it was a serious restaurant quality pasta dish. The penne was prepared al dente, the sauce tasted great, and it was piping hot. Generous portion too. At $19, I wasn't sure what to expect, but I got two meals out of it and felt it was well worth the price for the convenience of quality food on-the-go. Third order, I took a risk and had their buffalo chicken quesadilla. I've never ordered a quesadilla from a pizza restaurant before and was skeptical. It was phenomenal: packed with flavorful chicken, dressing for dipping, sour cream, fries, and they even included ketchup (thank you!). Had a Caesar salad with it which was also quite good--lots of chicken, dinner-sized salad. I will keep going back as long as they keep serving up this quality food! I don't understand the low rating at all! Their pizza is great, the price is great, and they offer delivery. This is a cheaper option than the big names downtown, but sometimes that's exactly what you are looking for! Perfect for ordering to go and bringing home for the family. This is typical interaction with Amity and I have tried them several times: Overcharged me then I had to wait a ridiculous amount of time for a simple sausage and pepper grinder only to have the roll completely disintegrate upon first handling. The cold grinder was so fresh from the roll to the ham and lettuce and tomato as were the two large pieces of carrot cake and cheesecake. Everything was delicious. Totally disappointed! This is by far the worst brick oven pizza ive ever encountered. The sausage looked like my dogs puppy chow and the bacon looked and tasted like imitation bacon bits. My wife wanted her $$$ back. The cheese and crust was good...but the toppings made for a horrific tasting pie. Decided to try a new Pizza place tonight, since we don't yet have a "go to" spot. Ordered online, so I don't know if that made my wait time better or worse. After an hour and a half of waiting I called the shop. Was told that the driver should be here any minute, about 10 minutes later he arrived. He was really nice... that's about as far as positives go. The food arrived almost cool. Not quite COLD, but definitely not even close to warm or hot. The pizza had been slid completely to one side of the box, as if it had been carried on its side in a suitcase... seriously. The garlic knots and stuffed bread were spongey and chewy. So we waited roughly 2 hours for unappetizing and nearly inedible food. I should have just saved my money. I won't be ordering from them again. read more

These guys are awesome. I ordered off of Uber Eats, the driver who "had my order" clearly did not match the order in his hands with what was on his app. There was a receipt and everything. When I called Amity they were amazing, they got another person to deliver my order right away and offered to tip out of their own pocket (I could hear over the phone). So polite and helpful. Avoid. Hadn't come here in years, but after receiving a flyer of theirs proclaiming new ownership and new, better pizza, I thought I'd give them a shot. They charge full price for half toppings. When I questioned this absurd policy, the woman running the register couldn't offer any justification beyond "the computer doesn't let me do otherwise". The manager was there, and when pulled away from the table where he was socializing with friends/family, he refused to reconsider this policy, lying that "honestly, most places do the same". No, "honestly" most places do NOT. Ernie's and Michaelangelo's, local competitors, don't. How was the pizza? Who cares, because this place is so customer-unfriendly I'll never be back, and I'll encourage others to avoid. The service in this establishment continues to decline. I stopped in to purchase a Milano pie. First of all the man behind the counter failed to acknowledge I was there for a good ten minutes. Is a simple"I will be right with you." too much to ask for. After paying for my order and returning 20 mins later I discovered the guy who took my order made it a white pizza instead of the red I asked for. He then suggested he would slap some red sauce on top. When I requested my money back they then relented to remake the pie. After waiting an additional twenty minutes I finally received the proper order and headed to my car. As I headed back to my car one of the workers ran out of store and started screaming across the lot asking if I had paid. At this point I headed back into the store. Looked at the guy who originally took my order and money and asked him why his coworker is chasing me down like a thief when I paid. He then looked at me and asked me "Did you pay?" In addition to having a receipt ,two other diners in the establishment who were there when I made my purchase said "Yes he did pay!". When I detailed to the manager the shoddy service I received from start to finish and my displeasure at being chased like a thief due to his incompetent staff I was offered a free soda for my embarrassment. Came here a few days ago, and man, was I disappointed. Food was just average- the bigger problem was that I waited far too long for it. Sat there for over 50 minutes waiting on 2 wraps and a piece of stromboli (which only needed to be reheated). The place was not busy. The pizza looked and smelled delicious, but I won't bother going back to try it. I worked in the food industry for years, and the only time anyone had to wait an hour for their food was on a Saturday morning at a large diner packed to the brim with a line going out the door. A nice pizza spot near stop and shop. Though it's not traditional New Haven "Apizza," it is refreshingly high quality, with a rustic atmosphere and competent staff. So the first time we ordered, really wasn't to bad, with the exception of the chicken orzo soup having pretty much just celery and carrots, ok whatever can deal with that, maybe the last of soup or what not. Second time, again, ok took forever to be delivered and they "forgot" a portion of my order. Got soup again, thinking maybe it will be better this time NOPE...same... Surprised at some of the previous lower reviews. This place was our family's favorite pizza spot until we moved to the west coast. I haven't had east coast pizza in almost ten years so I can't compare but compared to all the pizza in California, this was by far the best and freshest. Came back after a few years and although the dough texture seems to have changed, it's still as good and fresh as ever. I ordered pizza and chicken wings and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the chicken wings. Usually most chicken wings at other restaurants are too salty for my family and leaves us thirsty after dinner but this one didn't (which probably means less or no msg). The pizza wasn't that salty either which is a plus. Customer service was great but the waiting time after ordering food was slightly on the longer side but no complaints since it came in a reasonable amount of time and I assume it's because they make everything fresh and from scratch. read more

I'm not sure what the previous customers problem was, but I really like this establishment! The customer service has been good to me. The pizza, grinders, and stromboli's are good. I ordered a buffalo chicken stromboli to go. The gentleman said it would be ready in five minutes. I didn't get there for about twenty minutes because of traffic. When ringing me out he explained the first one be made was over cooked a little bit. So, instead of just putting the over done one in the to-go box, like a lot of places would have done, he asked if I wanted to buy it for three dollars. He showed it to me first, of course, and it wasn't even too over done. I was impressed and decided to buy it for three dollars. It was excellent! The over done one was as well. I definitely recommend Amity Pizza. Good value, good honest service, and good pizza without having to go to Wooster Street in New Haven. read more
