This gyro/falafel joint seems to be a classic on the Ave for late night dining and for good reason too. They're open late into the night, serve greasy and good food fast and for a decent price. I ordered the lamb gyro with hot sauce and a side of falafel. The gyro meat was tender but the hot sauce was a little overpowering and the last few bites were a little soggy and full of the sauce and drippings from the meat. Overall I enjoyed the gyro. The falafel I got on the other hand was pretty dry and crumbly, inside had a nice texture of the lentils but I felt they fried it a little too hard. The side of white sauce didn't do much to combat its dryness. Overall it's a pretty good option for late night grub and I would eat here again. read more

We've never received our full order- not even once- and follow up complaints and requests for our missing items go unanswered. Never again. I ordered Aladdin on Uber eats because of a recommendation from a friend who said this was the best gyro place in Seattle. I have to go yell at my friend now because this place was way over hyped. My gf got lamb shawarma and I got a lamb and beef Gyro. We split the Aladdin Fries. The size of these sandwiches were way smaller than other local gyro places, some being right around the corner from here. There is an option to get extra meat for an additional fee, but I don't want to pay more considering the other local places are giving way bigger portions for CHEAPER than Aladdins regular sized portion! If the food was exceptionally better I'd understand that, but in my opinion it was worse. Now that's not to say the food is bad because it's not, it's just more expensive and not as good as other places I've tried. If you haven't tried other places you'll likely thoroughly enjoy Aladdins. Aladdin Falafel Corner is one of the numerous Mediterranean/Middle Eastern eateries in the U-District. This eatery is located in the middle of one of the busiest portions of University Way. I visited this place for lunch on a spring day earlier this year. The interior of this restaurant is quite unassuming. It seems like a small space from the outside with not very much seating. But as you enter, you see a larger seating area to your right with a fast food restaurant look to it. Ambiance here has the feel of a hole in the wall. The U-District is known for having many cheap restaurants though the quality of food can vary. Most of the menu here is under $10 unless you are getting a meal. Here you will find standard Mediterranean/Middle Eastern favorites like falafel, gyros and shawarma. They have a great combo offer here in which you can get a gyro, fries and a can of soda for $7.99 which is one of the best value meals that I have had in the area. The gyro was as tasty as the previous reviews for this restaurant have been saying. The meat melds well with the accompanying lettuce and yogurt sauce in the gyro. The fries here are steak style fries which are larger than your fast food fries. The fries were doused with some type of spice on top. The fries are seasoned well enough, though some people may be wanting ketchup with them. Not sure if they have ketchup here though. If you are looking for a filling meal for little money, I recommend giving Aladdin a try. The workers were busy but still very friendly! They also have sit-down dining, so my friend and I ordered then sat in a booth! I ordered a gyro lamb & beef sandwich with a large Greek fries to share. The gyro was very good and was sort of curry flavored. It was also a great size in terms of satiety and price! My friend got the gyro plate, and he also said it was really good. He was too full to eat the fries so I took most of them home, but beware there's a lot of cheese on top and although it made the dish, probably refrain from getting if you're lactose intolerant (like seriously). Do note, there are two sizes of food you can order here, the regular and jumbo. The regular itself is pretty filling but if you're extra hungry, I recommend getting the bigger size! I grew up eating at this place since I was a kid and this place still makes my mouth water and now I come with my family. As A Greek Food Lover it's very hard to find a place that fulfills my cravings and this place is one of the best around seattle. I have literally tried everything over the years and they never let me down. RUDE & SINOPHOBHIC: The older guy kept yelling 'CHINA!' and 'COVID' when I stopped by one late evening for some lamb gyros. I didn't understand the language he was yelling at, but those words were clearly audible. I think he intended for the words to be heard and understood. I wanted some lamb gyros but he said he's out of lamb so I ask for the chicken gyro. He seemed confused, when the younger cook said its number 10. He seemed angry that I didn't say number 10 and flicked his writs, gesticulating why I did not say number 10. Anyway, I said I have a credit card but he shook his head saying he did not accept credit cards. But the younger cook inadvertently said out loud that they did at the same time. So he ended up having to take my card, furiously swiping it against his machine thrice, before slapping the bill on the counter. The chicken gyro that he did eventually cook made me wish I'd just gone home and cooked some for myself. Would not recommend, and am certainly not going there anytime soon. Looks like the overall quality, not only that of the service but also the professionalism of the staff, and most importantly of the quality of the cooking has been on a terrible decline. With the heat, I imaging perishable improperly refrigerated spoil easily. The general cleanliness of the are could be further improved. Maybe that's why he's mad? Ordered from this place for takeout! I got the chicken kabob and the order was quick and just wonderful on the palate when you eat it. Their naan was delicious and I had to stop myself from eating all of my dinner (as I was already full) so that I could save the rest for lunch the next day. Aladdin falafel corner is one of the U district classic institutions. I recalled that it has been there since 10 years back in the simpler university days. However, surprisingly after all this time I havent been here and it took my 30 year something self to finally try out this institution. I opted for a aladdin fries during my last visit! It is essentially $9 fully loaded fries with greek feta cheese, gyro/lamb meat and tatziki dressing! Greasy yet delicious carb attack on a plate. Meat was super flavorful. The food here is pretty good, but doing business with the management is miserable. They nickel and dime you for so many things it's both inconvenient and insulting. Hot sauce used to be freely available in bottles, now it's 75 cents for a tiny half full plastic saucer. Credit cards used to have a fee for under $10, then under $20, now it's for any purchase. There's no more water dispenser because of "Covid" so you'll have to pay for that too. If you show up without cash and want to add that 75 cent tiny hot sauce, you're SOL because you'll have to pay double that in credit card fees. If you hand them a dollar bill for said tiny hot sauce, they'll give you back two dimes and a nickel. Why? Who knows. Eating here feels like flying frontier airlines. If you want a hassle free experience, carry your own water, hot sauce, and cash. There's a lot of other places close by that are way more deserving of your business. read more

My visit to Aladdin Falafel Corner marked my first gyro experience. The place is quite small with only 6-7 tables inside. They have abundant vegetarian / meat options for the gyro. My friend and I decided to go for lamb aladdin's gyro, chicken shawarma, and the greek fries! You can also upgrade your meal to a combo with the option of regular fries, rice, or salad plus any soda for ~$3 after tax. The aladdin's gyro was extraordinarily delicious! The lamb was well-cut, well-seasoned, and tender; the vegetables were fresh and crisp; the sourish and sweet garlic sauce elevated the overall taste. I'm not a big fan of the chicken shawarma, mainly because of the overly strong turmeric flavor but my friend quite enjoyed it. The first few bites of the greek fries were so appetizing but we found ourselves to be a little bit queasy from the whopping amount of garlic sauce and feta cheese. I think they could cut back a little bit on the sauce. 2/3 digging in to the fries, we found a strand of hair sticking to the fries. Not that I want to make a big fuss about it but it slightly ruined our dining experience. As this is still my first time, I might come back here for more gyros! read more

Every college campus needs some badass cheap food nearby that's well off the beaten path of burgers and burritos and other run of the mill choices. (It also needs badass cheap burgers and burritos and all that stuff of course, but something about the campus setting means that other styles need to show up and show well when they do. There is a TON of decent cheap grub along The Ave, and I certainly haven't tried them all, but Aladdin has to be near the top of the list. It's a small place, a few tables, lots of to-go business. There's an ATM--they take debit and cash, but no credit. There's a long counter with a grill and pay station behind. Lots of deeply patterned rugs on the walls, trying to give you that eastern mediterranean vibe and doing an OK job of it. There's a pop cooler with the usual canned pop. The menu runs through lots of chopped meat and vegetables combinations, with or without pita, rice, hummus, and so on. I had the lamb/beef dinner combo, which was $10. That $10 gets you a pop, a decent scoop of chopped meat, big scoops of saffron rice, tomatoes, cucumbers, tangy white cheese, hummus, a big old chewy warm pita, and yogurt sauce. I'm a big dude, and I was easily full. Might be enough for two smaller people, or at least some leftovers later. Every ingredient was in good shape--all fresh vegetables, and the meat was tender, not dry at all. Tons of flavor to everything. It's simply presented. We had flown in pretty late this evening and settled into our hotel down the street, but were hungry. We decided to take a walk around to see what was available and were surprised to find many restaurants open on the UW campus. Since we were all in agreement that we wanted Middle Eastern food, we stopped into this one and got a gyro each. Mind you, this is like 11pm! The gyros were stuffed with salad, and a delicious mix of lamb and beef. We all commented on how moist the "shaved" meat was in comparison to the ones you get in California. The yogurt sauce was very flavorful as well. For a fast food joint, it was superb. We are now reminiscing on this meal saying it was one of the best meals we've ever had. By the time we left, there were like 20 people in there eating, or waiting for their food.
