So we ended up here by accident - a last minute change when we realized Lavash Cafe is closed Mondays. BUT Alladin's is not. YAY! To start off, parking is super convenient - a major bonus after not getting to eat with friends recently downtown when I just couldn't find a place to park after circling the restaurant for 10-15 minutes. There were 4 of us and I was first one there. I was seated in a booth near the door - perfect so I could flag down the others as they arrived. I had peeked at the menu prior to arriving so I knew there was plenty of things (salads) I liked. Having been burned too many times recently on the price of drinks and lack of good service for refills, I opted for water. In my heart, I really wanted a Diet Pepsi - but oh well. One person had a mask on to not get sick as her hubby was having surgery - so she didn't order. The rest of us got salads. I ordered one of the pricier ones -which turned out to be a mistake. The salads the other 2 ladies got looked so much better - they came in bowls and have more fixings. Lesson learned. However, they did have oil and vinegar - YAY! - and my salad was simply fine. The other ladies clearly enjoyed their salads as they ate every bite (as I did, too). Our waitress was super nice and did an excellent job. Once we were all there and ordered, we got our food in decent time. We were on separate checks which did not present any problem. My bill was $20 even - for a salad and very generous tip. I've actually been here once before but the occasion was so forgettable (I think I came in just for takeaway soup or something; I don't know) I forgot to write a review. So I decided to return for Restaurant Week Winter 2023. For $20, I got small hummus w/ hot sauce, chicken pitza, and baklava lady fingers for dessert. Normally, a la carte - according to their online menu, those items cost $20.25. So I saved a quarter I guess. I noticed too they charged me a $1.50 service charge on top of that. In the end I paid more than the normal prices. Isn't that antithetical to the point of Restaurant Week? Anyway, the food was good (the baklava was my favorite but I wouldn't say no to a second helping of the pitza), the service was fine, and the ambience was acceptable (is it really bright in there or is it just me?). read more

Aladdin's!!! Everything is delicious--you really can't go wrong. They also have lots of dietary friendly options. I arrived to pick up an order my partner had placed online and said I was also looking for a dessert. My partner had listed that I had a dairy allergy on the online order (I don't actually, just lactose intolerant), and the manager was quick to point out vegan options in the dessert case. When I explained the dessert was for a friend, she had recommendations for her favorites with dairy. I wish I could remember her name, because she was incredibly kind and knowledgeable. I got the mujadara power salad for the first time, and it was so good I've already tried to re-create it at home. Lots of lentils and hummus. A whole meal on its own, I was stuffed by the end. The pieces were on the mushy side and the exterior wasn't crispy enough to provide a contrasting texture. My chicken, on the other hand, was quite good. This was my first visit to this aladdin's. I've eaten at other locations but not in the recent past. This location is now my favorite. It is bright cheery and very clean. There is plenty of parking behind the building. I had lunch here with 2 friends. We got hummus with a side of veggies and also a small order of falafel for appetizers. The hummus was fresh and delicious. The veggies were also fresh, crisp and varied. Celery, carrots, tomatoes, Cukes, pickled watermelon and pickle slices. This was a small order and we had plenty to take home. The pita was tasty and came to the table right after we sat down. For meals we had chicken salad salad, a new dish called genie's combo plate that had well-seasoned chicken, Lebanese veggie salad, hummus, fried cauliflower turnips , and a beef sharma roll up. All delicious and huge servings. Everyone went home with half a meal. Don't forget dessert which we got to go for later. Extensive desserts to choose from variety of cheesecake, tiramisu, chocolate peanut butter cake, carrot cake, grandmas chocolate layer cake and gluten-free chocolate torte. Aladdins for many years was my favorite Middle Eastern food joint, but I'm not nearly as enthusiastic about them as I used to be. The food is good, but not top notch. (I think Lavash just down the street is way better). The portion size is small, especially their rolled pitas. The service can be good, or it can be catastrophically slow. (I've had multiple lunch visits run way over my lunch break over the years.) The parking situation here isn't that great either. If some friends wanted to meet here, I'd be alright with that. However, I don't think I would go out of my way to recommend this place. read more

I've worked for Aladdins when I was a teenager over 20 years ago. I love the food. It's usually my go to when I don't know what I want but this location has a serious problem with food consistency. I don't know if they try to save money or what but the chili I got this time and the two previous time's doesn't even have a tomato or chili flavor because it so watered down. I think this was my last visit unfortunately. Other locations are a bit to far to fill my after work dinner needs. The money I work for is to valuable to me to throw down the drain for some terribly made food. First time at this location- it will be my last. I'm vegetarian and gluten intolerant. It isn't easy and I know it's not the easiest for restaurants either. I wanted the vegetarian platter (which is an appetizer that I wanted it as my meal), asked if instead of tabouli (gluten) I could sub something else. The waitress went and asked and came back and told me no (I did make her aware of why I needed the substitute). I instead ordered the falafel salad. It came out with no cheese, I asked her where the feta was, she went to ask and came back and told me the cheese is an up upcharge (even though it doesn't state that on the menu). My salad was so bland: the dressing had no flavor, the falafel had no flavor, and the rest was just lettuce. Really disappointing for an $11 salad. My wine was not good (tasted like it was a long ago opened bottle). My friends also said their food had no flavor. I understand things are more expensive now, but there are a lot of other places similar to alladins that I will continue to go to instead of here. read more

I love this place! I use to go to the ones in Cleveland and so this gives me a little taste from home. The pics were taken after I started stuffing my face so these pics are not necessarily the correct portion size. We got the hummus, kibbie, falafel, dawali, chicken shawarma (not pictured), mujadara plate, cassata cake, carrot cake, and large assortment of baklava. I normally do not like vegetarian dawali but these ones are really good! They bring back lots of childhood memories for me. Kibbie is always one of my favorites. The thing that stands out for me is the falafel. At most places it is kinda bland but they make it flavorful. I didn't care too much for the cassata cake but my husband liked it. Aladdin's reliably serves some of the best value you can get for your fast-casual money. It's inexpensive, healthy, and most importantly, it tastes great. My particular favorites are the various "pitzas" and their vegetarian platters--and I say that as an omnivore! I also love ordering from Lavash--their Mediterranean competitor a few doors down the street--because I think that Aladdin's and Lavash complement each other. Each does something that the other doesn't offer. Pro tip: if you like spicy food, get extra hot sauce. If you like dessert, check out their offerings--their decidedly Western-style cakes are surprisingly on point and the baklava assortment is always good. read more

My friend left at 740 to pick up our food.. i text her at 815pm asking if she was lost. her reply was "this is taking forever and im just leaving now". Turns out the food wasn't ready for pickup, they obviously forgot about it, and didn't rush to get it done. Despite the stupid name of this local chain, I think the food is delicious and appealing to vegetarians and meat-eaters alike. My friend is a regular here, and I can see why. We shared... hummus and pitta, an order of stuffed grape leaves, chicken shawarma, a gyro, and a seared tuna salad. Lots of side sauces came with these items and really enhanced the meal. Everything we ordered was fresh and flavorful. The prices were decent for the quality and portions, and the restaurant itself is cute. It has really big pieces of falafel, with a creamy and thick tahini sauce, and is topped with cucumbers and tomatoes. The hummus is better than a lot of Mediterranean restaurants in Columbus. It's super creamy and is garnished with kalamata olives. It also has good baba ghannouch. These are both really good with the chips or on sandwiches. It also has a really good tabbouli salad. It's really crunchy and not soggy like a lot are. They have many healthy choices here. It has a pretty big menu. The vegetable soup is also good when it's cold. It has lots of lentils and bits of carrots and tomatoes. There are some good beverages too. It has some fresh juices and blueberry and strawberry smoothies. There are so many good choices it's hard to choose. It's about $10 for a meal so it's not cheap but everything has always been really good. They do have some less healthy items. All the baklava and cakes are displayed in a case at the front. They have many good looking ones so you can look while waiting for your order. I recommend Aladdin's Eatery to anyone who likes good Mediterranean food. It has a big menu and many healthy items. The falafel is the one thing you have to try. read more

Interesting establishment. I've been wanting to try Aladdin's for years, so I posted a UYE. When we got to the restaurant, it want busy yet, so we were seated right away. I decided on an appetizer and meal: Baba Ganoush and Mediterranean Lamb Plate. This dinner did not score high for me. Why? A few things: smoked flavor, tart/bitter taste, and overcooked meat. I did not like the prominent smoked flavor of the Baba. It lingered in my mouth, which left my taste buds in disappointment. I've never had a thing for smoked food, period. The Baba also was quite tarty - made me pucker and shiver, yuck! I could not taste the eggplant. The lamb plate was nothing to brag about either. The chucks of lamb were overcooked a bit. The rice and nut mix could have used some moisture. I was nervous that the cinnamon would be overwhelming. It wasn't. However, this dish didn't have bold flavors, like I was expecting. Our waitress was polite and checked in at just the right points. But the flavors left in my mouth after trying the dishes was too much to come out on top. read more

This place is more like a 2.5 star, but since we had pretty nice service, I'll bump it up to a 3. It's been about two and a half years since I last stepped foot in an Aladdin's, and it happened to be this one coincidentally. Even though I lived in Olentangy Village, it took a while for me to check out this place, and the first time I went (aka the last time I went prior to this) I wasn't very impressed. I had their beef kafta rolls, and it just didn't taste that great, so this time around I stayed away from it. There was a few of us there for a meet up, so I was able to try a few of the appetizer dishes. I ordered the falafel and was not a fan. It was way denser than most falafel I eat (maybe too pureed), and two of them was more than enough to make me full. I tried the baba ganoush, which had a bit of a smoky flavor to it, and I thought that was the best of the apps. The Foole was just okay. I wish they'd give you better pita to dip instead of just store bought thinly cut slices. I went with the lamb as my main course, and they really didn't provide a whole lot of it. The meat was cooked pretty well done and cut into pretty small pieces, and they never gave me the option of how I'd like it cooked. The rice had a hint of cinnamon, and I didn't mind that. The garlic sauce that came with it was pretty tasty as well. For dessert they had a number of cheesecakes and a signature chocolate cake with mousse layering in the middle. I went with a Kit Kat cheesecake, because how could that be bad? It wasn't great; it wasn't terrible, but it was incredibly rich, and I couldn't finish it. Ranajoy had ordered the signature cake, which I had a bite of, and it didn't do much for me either. At the end of the day, I'm probably not going to be back to Aladdin's again unless I'm forced to. I don't know if it's just this spot in particular that's lackluster, but I'm willing to bet the majority of the chain is the same. The quality of ingredients is just not there for me, and I could understand if the pricing was a bit lower, but it's not. If you're looking for Mediterranean fare in Columbus, there are just so many other options that are better and cheaper. read more

Stopped in for a late lunch earlier this week. Service was good and pleasant. Hummus was super fast- heavy on the tahini and low on the garlic and lemon. Served with the pitas that are used as the wraps. The hummus was not as balanced as I like in mine. (I'm still going with Pita House in Bexley tops the columbus hummus scene.). It was pretty smooth here though. House salad- The arugula was a nice touch in the salad itself. House dressing, tasty for sure. Super tasty it you get a lemon to squeeze on it. The lemon helped the house dressing be what it wanted to be. Spicy Kafta wrap- undercooked beef. Spots of overly pink meat throughout both pieces. After I saw pink in the wrap, I dissected the other kofta too. I'm not pro-well done beef but, when consuming ground beef at a place that I know nothing about their meat sources (and there's not a disclaimer of potentially undercooked meat), I want my meat throughly cooked. It was possibly undercooked because there wasn't enough beef in it to cook evenly. Was heavy, heavy on green (parsley perhaps) and maybe a filler. Before I notice the undercooked beef, I'd taken say four bites. In those four bites I didn't find the 'spicy' that was in the dish's name. The wrap was super crunchy. Like cracker flakey crunch. In the end, I showed the waiter the undercooked beef in my wrap. He comped it on the ticket, which was appreciated. I was asked if I wanted something else but at that point I was over Aladdin's. Undercooked meat aside, I prefer the product that's being produced at the restaurant that's only a parking lot away. With so many restaurant options in C-Bus I cannot say for a positive that I'd return for another meal. read more

I have visited Aladdin's multiple times and have never had a bad experience. The service has always been quick and courteous, and the atmosphere is warm and comforting. At this location, they have artwork by local artists for sale of various mediums. The food is very good. They have a great variety of vegetarian and vegan options, and you can spend anywhere as low as $5.95 to $30 for a meal. This time I had their Farmer's Pitza and Cinnamon Apple Cheesecake. Both were amazing. The desserts are also to die for. They have types of cheesecake that you won't even find on The Cheesecake Factory menu, and The server will take the time to go through each item in the refrigerated case in the front. Overall you can find something delicious for any budget and diet in a cozy environment with friendly staff. read more

Bad first time experience here. Very rude customer service, the pictures on the ordering website looked nothing like the food. I came to pick up 2 orders and when I walked in there were 2 girls working, they looked young and they didn't greet me or spoke to me at all just continued talking amongst each other. A guy walked in about 3 minutes after me and one of the girls kindly greeted him and asked him "what can I help you with?" I looked around like I guess I'm invisible. The other girl asked me "are you waiting for something" I just laughed and said yea 2 orders. The food is not flavorful and sloppy. I hope the other locations are better.
