The representative, Eduardo callentano, helped me out and was very easy going and personable. Due to circumstances, not under Alamo's' control, the vehicle I reserved was unavailable. Eduardo was able to set me up with a very nice option, that was satisfactory to me and the wife. They're trying to charge me $615 for a rip in the seams of one of the backseats of the car that was there the moment I received it and put my backpack in back. It's one of the most obviously predatory claims I've ever seen from a company. They intentionally dirtied the backseat far from how I left it in the photos of the little tear, and did not provide the cost from a repair shop - just their own charge of $615, despite saying the work it getting done by a shop outside their company. Shady and scammy as can be, trying to prey on people with too much money or people who aren't that bright. Disgraceful. Standing in a line that has over 10 parties behind me but when I got into line had 6 parties in front of me. So it is busy here on the Friday before Christmas. However they have two people working the counter intermittently (with one that is consistently working the counter). The problem is that the one that is primarily at the counter does not seem to work with any urgency or desire to lessen the wait of all the people waiting for him. From just walking in and out from behind the desk to showing people which cars are available in the lot...what should seemingly take a short amount of time takes quadruple the time. If you're going to rent from here, especially close to a busy time...don't expect to leave within an hour. I've been here for 90 minutes. Update: They now have no cars. I am giving a low rating because i have contacted a manager and has been over 1 month since being home and during that one month time span I have reached out through email and even called and several times and when I called they told me they will review their notes and leave my notes to have the information passed onto their manager to call me. I also was charge an ALAMO TOLL fee that was not mentioned or shown on my billing statement provided through email invoice. We also had issues with the car which was addressed and shown in person of injuries it had caused. I do not think i will rent from this location again. It is so irritating that Yelp doesn't let you leave 0 stars, because that's exactly what I would have given if possible. I reserved a full size SUV, and guess what!?!They didn't have one. Just like past reviewers have commented. I brought in the reservation paperwork including confirmation number and customer rep said "sorry, we don't have a vehicle available". Why did you send me a message confirming my reservation then? He offered a little sedan as a substitute. I looked at him like he was crazy. I reserved an SUV large enough for my family of 7 and he wants to give me a car that barely fits 4 people. What am I supposed to do with the other 3 family members? Thought everything was going great and then we got a simple flat tire, probably a nail in the road from nearby construction. Despite paying for the extra insurance and the simplicity of the problem, Alamo quickly became an absolute nightmare to deal with. They Uber my wife to the office, would not help because she did not have the car they knew they left at our hotel because it is not drivable. She had to walk a mile back. They Uber her to an Enterprise. The Enterprise refuses to help because they weren't actually open and then said they didn't have any cars. They Uber her to another office on the other side of the county. They keep stranding her in a place we do not live, have never been to before this week, without a car or apparently a way to get one. At this point they have taken up and ruined our only day to relax. And we still don't even have any answers. For a single. Flat. Tire. Beyond disappointed in this company. None of the three said anything to me when I came in, I stood around for 5 minutes while one guy kept looking up at me and I eventually went outside to take a call. Do not rent here! We received a Nissan Armada from LAX. It was a total lemon with over 53,000 miles on it. It had many mechanical problems with it: engine making weird sounds, the trunk kept popping open once dumping my stroller and water bottles all over Harbor Blvd on the bridge over the 5, the GPS system was 2-5 minutes behind making us miss turns and it drive absolutely terrible. We took it to the Anaheim location saying that before we got on highway with luggage we needed to be certain the trunk was not randomly popping open. They happily traded out a new Ford Expedition, a much nicer car. I was told I would have no additional charges as it was a mechanical issue with the other car. I turned in new car at LAX no problems and given my estimated total. No problems at retuning. A week later I receive an email asking for insurance information saying there was an accident in the car. THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO ACCIDENT IN THIS CAR! This is complete insanity! Edited: I have responded to the email address below. Let's see how long it takes for a response or a resolution to be made. LAVADA Was so rude and unprofessional! Ruined my experience with Alamo. Drove there to pick up an SUV for the weekend. No place to park and had to pull off busy Katella Ave. Got honked at by leaving customers, Employee LAVADA comes it and yells that I can't park there! People are trying to leave! They told me their airport location's car does not have such restriction. However, since I was already near Disneyland and there are few car rental companies nearby, I decided to abandon Enterprise. I first called Hertz, they told me they didn't have any car for the day! Then I called Alamo, the lady on the phone helped me making reservation over the phone and confirmation was sent to my email. At Alamo, everything was proceed fast and smooth. Shawn took me to the car and when he told me which one was the car I will be driving the next 4 days, I was excited!!!! Because I also got damage waiver so he didn't go over the car with me. What was happening next was embarrassing!! I couldn't start the car!!! After few attempt I went back to the office and waited in line. Shawn was dealing w other customer but he saw me and told them to wait a second and came out to help me:) The car I got was VW Passat which was in excellent condition, driving it surely make my trip 1300 miles trip, passing 100 degree desert or 10000 ft Utah mountains a lot more fun. Not to mention it has satellite radio to keep me entertained (or I mean stay awake) in the middle of nowhere. Returning the car was a breeze as well. I always get nervous when searching for rentals cars because of all the horrible experiences I hear from friends and reviews I see on multiple websites. This Alamo location was the closest to the hotel we were staying at while visiting Disneyland. I wish I remembered to name of the attendant who helped my boyfriend and I because he was so friendly and made the check in process quick and painless. We checked out our Hyundai Accent to make sure there weren't any scratches/dents and we were on the road. They left us with contact information in case we ran into any issues along the way. We brought back the car in one piece and the attendant who helped us check out was just as friendly. Thank you guys for a pleasant experience. Highly dissatisfied with this branch and will never recommend or reserve from here again no matter how good the deal is. 1067532994COUNT is my confirmation number. Also, I have emails to prove this. I had reserved a vehicle for 3 days about 2 weeks in advance. 2 weeks. First, when we arrived, the branch was closed due to Covid-19 and saw a letter on the door that sent us to Enterprise right down the street on Harbor and Orangewood. Why reserve vehicles when your branch is closed? It makes no sense. It was a bait and switch. Later, I had to wait 2 hours before I was helped. This whole process was a whole shitstorm. All Alamo reservations had to relocate to Enterprise which wasted my time and plans for my trip. Once I got to Enterprise, (I know these two companies are connected) I was told that I needed a Credit Card, but I already know that wasn't the case because I'm a resident of Anaheim and I was told by an Enterprise employee a while back that If I was a resident of Anaheim, then a Debit Card would be perfectly fine. One of the employees even asked me what city I was from and it clearly said Anaheim in my ID, so I know he could've helped me. In the end, I had to go to Enterprise in Fullerton where THEY even told me again that the Anaheim Branch had to take my Debit Card since I'm a resident of Anaheim. To top it off, the employee who sent me to Enterprise-Fullerton told me that he had reserved another vehicle for me for about 35/day and that it would be waiting for me. So now I needed to get picked back up to go to Enterprise-Fullerton. When I got to Enterprise Fullerton, I was told there were no reservations made in the past hour for me even with the new confirmation number that I had. Tricked again and now I had no choice but to make a whole new reservation. My reservation turned from 139 for 4 days to 435 for 4 days. Honestly, it was a bait and switch. They played the Credit Card line, and ultimately got me to cancel my current reservation just to rent it out to somebody that would pay more for it since business was back up. I get it. They wanted to make their bonuses since Covid-19 messed everything up. Covid-19 affected not just Enterprise but the people as well. A little help would've been nice instead of tricking people and pulling bait and switches I will be complaining to Enterprise too. Just wanted to start with you guys. I've been renting cars from Alamo since 2017!! this time around I needed a big family vehicle, since the entire family was traveling with me and my husband. I initially had asked for an SUV for 7 people. I was not expecting anything smaller, and so the representative came out and suggested that there was a mini van available. I'm not a Mini Van kinda GIRL!! I said OK show me let me tell you all, the man did his homework!! The vehicle he gave me was the 2020 Chrysler Pacifica limited. After we tried to put the 5 of us in the car we realized we needed a bigger vehicle. The rental place quickly found a bigger vehicle, charged us hardly anything to upgrade, and apologized to us that we picked the wrong car! It certainly wasn't their fault! Easy drop off after hours. We were quite happy with our car rental experience here. We knew we needed a car for the 2nd half of our trip but not the first half, when we'd spend the days at Disneyland and California Adventure. I didn't want to pay for a rental car only to take us from the airport to the hotel, and then deal with self-parking costs and hassles (our hotel Aneheim Marriott Suites had a $6/adult/day shuttle). So we were happy to find that we could get a rental car at Downtown Disney, enjoy the rental car when we actually needed it, and return it to LAX wen we were done. We booked through Costco travel website, and added the collision insurance when we arrived, which cost $17/day (I think the amount depends on the type of car). I asked the company about the cost, as expedia would've charged $10/day for the collision insurance, but the Alamo representative explained that it may not actually cover the entire insurance so I decided to book through costco. Booking through costco scored us a free additional driver, though when I wrote to the company, they explained that there wasn't a charge for that anyway. Also, we got a free car upgrade. It helped reading other yelp reviews to locate the rental company. Right past Earl of sandwich, and past the security check, we turned left and quickly found the company. When I saw the sign that said that the company must ensure that we have a car seat before we leave with a child, I explained that I'd take our toddler back to the hotel on the shuttle, where we had a car seat, and my husband would meet us there with the car. When the man helping us understood the plan, he said we could instead borrow a car seat, go back to the hotel as a family, and drop it off when we were leaving Anaheim, all for free! It was a generous and thoughtful offer and we gladly accepted! Returned the car at LAX and the return was super quick. Ugh, of course my car broke down when I was in Anaheim for work. Alamo was the closest rental place to me so I took an Uber there in a leap of blind faith that they would be able to help me out of a bind. The location was empty when I walked in besides for one employee behind the front counter and I think he was excited to finally have a customer! I explained my situation to him and he was happy to help out! He quickly walked me through the list of available options before I decided to go with a mid-sized sedan. I got an almost new Kia that looked great both inside an out. The entire rental process took no more than 45 minutes and I was in and out in enough time to still grab lunch before my next meeting started. Low Prices, no hassel about buying insurance, options and upgrade at no charge, no nit picking about all the little details and missing two gallons of gas, and the workers were calm, genuinely friendly and very nice. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We needed to rent a large vehicle for a quick turn around trip... I mean quick. I was able to use the Costco website and saved about 20%. Actually, Alamo has several different discounts. The car selected online was the Caravan. This would be just fine because it has the large roll down windows in the back. They close at 6PM so I was going to take my car, check out, and come back later (after they closed) to pick up the van because I was alone. I needed to check it out before they closed. I called and they told me there was no possibility of me doing that because of parking. I was a bit frustrated. You actually cannot do that. They close the gates and there is no parking in the immediate area. I guess you can park at the hotel and pay or risk towing. I managed to get dropped off. They offerred me a choice between the VW and the Caravan. They offered me a choice? First for me. The van had scratches and tar in several different areas so I asked them to document it. Overall, the van was in good shape. It also came with a full tank of gas. On return, I was expecting a hassel because of the scratches from when I picked it up. They were super nice and said not to worry. They also asked about the gas. I said it was more than 3/4 full. It was probably short about 2 gallons from being full. The guy said it was close enough and not to worry. Wow, and this place is by Disneyland? I never had friendlier service. Alamo in the OC...Another reason the OC is the best place to live. read more

It's pretty good! I've been renting from Alamo for years, and this location in particular is a frequent pickup for me. Note the location can get really busy if you show up at the wrong time, and they normally only have 1-2 employees behind the counter, who can easily be overwhelmed. Also check the hours before you go, because they close kinda early. And they're bound to run out of cars quickly being a small lot near a large resort. You can book through any of the giant travel websites and reserve a car here at a good price, but definitely shop at least 2 of those sites to make sure you got the ideal price. Note book through Costco for the absolute best deals, and book early so they aren't oversold. This time, I basically paid for 2 days instead of 3. However, since I took the car at 2pm on a Friday and returned it at 3pm on a Sunday, this "free" day was really more like a free hour. But hey free is free, can't really complain about that just because I brought it back 2 hours sooner than planned. Pro tip: Always book an "intermediate" (Corolla), or compact, etc, and then take your chances. They'll lock you at this price, and when you show up and they don't have any (which is most of the time), then they'll upgrade you by 1-2 sizes larger. And if you booked the smaller car and they actually give it to you, then you can still try to upgrade for a few dollars more, if you don't like it. Be careful with the fuel, because employees were kind of sketchy about this. The paper clearly states you must return the car "Full" or you'll be charged up the wazoo (currently $4.43/gal for a full tank... current market price is $3) to refuel it, unless you bought the "prepaid fuel option". I did neither, and wasn't even offered the latter. Problem is, when I started the car and was about to leave, saw it was only 3/4 full (meaning I should only be required to return it 3/4, but the employee didn't write this on the paper and when I went back to verify, completely blew it off). When returning it, I told a different employee who asked if I returned it "Full", that no it was returned 3/4, and pointed to the sticker I found on the key with "3/4" written on it. So basically they're trying to get away with charging you for fuel that you were never even provided or didn't use, or make you fill it up to F for them. No thanks... And also be aware of all charges you're signing. One of the customers ahead of me, who picked up at a different location, was complaining because the employees didn't tell him there was an hourly charge if he kept it more than 24 hours from the time he picked it up. Which is sorta obvious, but a potential pitfall even for competent consumers. And also walk around the car before you leave, to inspect for any damages, because the employees won't tell you any of this. Unfortunately, I found out 3 hrs after dropping my car that I left my sunglasses in the sunglass holder of the car. I'm leaving messages and trying to get someone to answer the phone to get them back. I dunno who wants 5 yr old used sunglasses, except me... we'll see how good their customer service really is. When I told them that the car was unacceptably dirty, and documented it on their vehicle condition report, the manager told me to go rent from someone else. I immediately called Alamo. I explained the situation to the Alamo representative on the phone. She was able to reserve me the same type of vehicle, at a lower price. Alamo used to be my go to company when it comes to rental cars. Due to extenuating circumstances, I stopped using Alamo for the past couple of years. But, with Avis telling me to go away, I needed a car quickly. I immediately drove to Alamo in Anaheim. The office is located nearby Disneyland. They were not that busy when I arrived, with only one person in front of me. The clerk helping me was great. He told me that they were sold out, but, since, their phone representative had made a reservation, he would give the car me a car. We ended up with new Nissan Altima with only 700 miles on it. The car was great for a day. The next day as we were driving up the 57 freeway, the car did not want to shift gears, and could not go faster than 50 mph. Minutes later the "Check Engine" light came on. We immediately called the 800 phone number for Alamo's Roadside assistance. It took a while before someone answered. But, we were instructed to take the car to the closest location and trade it for another vehicle. The swap was made, and we ended up with Ford Fusion. Returning the car was probably the most unpleasant thing of the rental. The return clerk kept on making comments that people should buy their insurance in case they get into accident. He told me that he had 6 cars were returned damaged since they opened in the morning. As he was talking, a person trying to park his rental car crashed into a pole. Again prompting him to mention that people need to buy Alamo's insurance. I told him that I have American Express' Premium Car Rental Protection. He told he that their insurance was no good and that I would have to get a police report if I had gotten into an accident. He made a simple return that should've taken 2 minutes into almost a 10 minute ordeal. Despite the clerk who lectured me on auto insurance upon returning the car, I had a wonderful experience with Alamo. They did something that Avis never does for me. They gave me a clean car with low miles. The difference between Alamo and Avis was like night and day. Everyone who helped me rent the car was great. I didn't like the car breaking down, but, I loved it that I could swap cars at any Alamo location. The people here were nice and I really wanted to love my experience, but the truth is that I actually wanted a compact car. I booked a compact car as a one way trip from this location, which was walking distance from my convention center hotel. When I got there and was told that they didn't have any compact cars clean, my heart almost sank and then she said that they had a Dodge Charger available and could offer it to me at the same rate. I declined and told her that I could wait until another option was cleaned. She said that a Nissan was the next available and a few minutes later, she had me all squared away and I signed all of the paperwork. When she pointed "my" car out to me, it was the dang Charger... which I already knew was bad on miles per gallon gasoline rate. Ugh... I was frustrated but took it. The Charger was less than clean. Grit on the inside, ashes on the outside window as if someone was smoking just after it was washed and the ashes stuck... random and annoying. To top that all off, I got a few miles up the road and noticed that the gas tank wasn't full, as was the requirement of how I'm suppose to return it. I was minutes from checkout at the hotel and figured that I'd address it at drop off. I stopped and filled up at a gas station right afterward just to see what the shortage was... it took $34 to top off the tank. So not only was I assigned to a car class that I didn't want, I was cheated it's gasoline. Nit pick it is not. $34 is a lot! When I returned the car to LAX, I addressed the issue of the $34 gas shortage and he knocked $20 off of the final price... which is the only reason I'm bumping it up a star for Alamo as a whole. My fiancé Dylan and I are always treated well when we rent cars at this Alamo location. He and I prefer to exclusively go to this location/company due to that. The branch manager Steffen and his crew are great. He always makes sure we're happy and taken care of. From my experience, Alamo always has the best deals around the area. I know Enterprise is a part of the same company, but their service level and car quality just doesn't compare. My only problem is that now we're hoping to buy a Dodge Charger or Chevy Malibu/Impala of our own soon because of all the great rental cars we've had here. :D read more
