This is a fairly hidden gem restaurant a little bit west of UDistrict, closer to Wallingford. The menu features a bunch of dishes in Central Asia, with fitchi being the star of the show, as the name of this establishment suggests. Fitchi is a stuffed pastry from Uzbekistan/Turkmenistan, and surprisingly when I googled what fitchi was, there weren't a whole lot of search results, so I am ready for a special culinary adventure! When we arrived, it was 2pm and we got the last table and had to wait for 2 chairs to be unoccupied, since it is a place where you sit anywhere and grab chairs from other tables if you need for larger groups. We got 1 chicken and 1 beef fitchi to share, which was $5.50 each + tax, which is a really good deal considering the size of the fitchi. Food does take a while to get since they make fresh to order, so expect 20-30 minutes wait for the food. It was a bit interesting the fitchi is served with a side of ranch, and the server gave us 2 spoons and 2 knives to eat it. The beef fitchi is amazing - very flavorful and juicy. The chicken fitchi is also good but does not carry the level of seasoning as the beef one, but you should try both. Fitchi House is the only restaurant in Seattle serving authentic Central Asian cuisine, as far as i know. If you haven't tried them yet, this is a must-visit! Central Asian cuisine is shared by Uyghur Chinese, Uzbeks, Kyrgyz, Kazakh, and Turkmens. Many famous cuisines, like Turkish, Persian, and Indian, have roots in this region. A warm and passionate lady from Kyrgyzstan runs Fitchi House, recreating the exact dishes she grew up with. No wonder everything is so delicious! I've enjoyed their signature dish, Fitchi (Central Asian meat pie), many times, and it's always a winner! For the first time, I tried three new dishes--and they're all must-tries: Laghman: Hand-pulled noodles topped with fried meat, veggies, and savory stew. Hand pulling the noodles are the real deal--perfectly chewy and complement the toppings beautifully. I totally loved it! Gosh Naan: A deep-fried meat pie, a staple of Uyghur and Kyrgyz cuisine. It's crispy outside, savory inside, and surprisingly not oily. Absolutely delicious. Kazan Kabab: Meat cooked with subtle spices in a special wok called Kazan, served with jasmine rice. It looks simple, but the meat is packed with flavor--an explosion created by subtle spices that pairs perfectly with the jasmine rice. An Uzbek dish, but eaten all over central asia. They also offer a full menu of Italian Pizzas, all Halal--one of the rare places in Seatle serving traditional pizzas ( whereas most places serve Halal Pizza only Indian style) like this. No wonder Central Asians are known for being the world's best bakers! When I asked for their top three dishes, they had a hard time choosing because every dish is a heartfelt recreation of their own kitchen. The inside is small but gives off a homely feeling. My buddy and I rolled in here late on a Saturday night, so right there if you're looking for something open late Fitchi has got that going for it. Unfortunately, there was only one guy working, so he had to take the order, prep and make everything. This took a little bit, I want to say over 30 minutes, which I suppose is fair given our order. Fitchi is a curious place, I've passed it numerous times and saw that it's "Eastern Cuisine", yet they make Pizza too. These sort of "multi cuisine" places always make me a bit nervous. They've got, pizza, turkish food, pasta there is a lot going on in here. We got a Milano pizza pie - pepperoni, olive, mushroom, sausage. It was better than I thought, I give them credit on this one but still just alright. Cheesy bread which I think was the best thing we got - decent cheesy and herb flavor on these with 2 dipping sauces. They were out of wings, so we got 'dumplings?' I didn't even realize my buddy ordered these until we got back and they were a mess. They were mushy and falling apart with every bite. Not a lot of flavors even with the sauces to dress it up. Overall Fitchi was ok. Pizza just ok, Cheesy bread good. Dumplings no good. Service, kinda eh for a Saturday night. The indoor seating was in disarray from people dining in, but no staff to clean up the tables so it looked messy in there. My husband ordered a pizza to go from this place and when he got home we found a cockroach baked into the bottom of the pizza when we called the placed to tell them what happened and they didn't seem sympathetic at all!!! Often I had driven past Fitchi House exiting off I-5 to cut through Wallingford or heading from the University District. However, this month I made it a point to order the goods from Fitchi House. Both orders on 3/11/21 and 3/22/21 were made online and by the time I drove from Shoreline and located street parking, takeout orders were hot and ready. A note about ordering: 5% discount if completed online, $3 off if completed via the Slice app with special codes, or 15% discount if phoned in directly. The actual dining area is clean, bright, and tidy. However the pandemic, dine at your risk. I did see groups of 2 and 4 onsite though. Menu offers a wide variety of Uzbek specialties, apps, salads, Italian pasta entrees, pizzas, calzones, sandwiches, desserts, and beverages. You'll find something appealing, whether ordering for one, two, or larger group. With these two takeout orders, The Homie and I were able to sample the beef fitchi, beef somsa, chicken parmesan sandwich, and an XL Quatro Formaggi with Italian sausage pizza. The Homie loved the chicken parm, - but then he loves hot, toasted sammies. The beef fitchi and beef somsa definitely has to be eaten hot and fresh. The beef filling is very flavorful and stands out versus comparable dumpling fillings from other Russian (Pel Meni) and Georgian (Skalka) spots in Seattle. The XL pizza is huge, although the winner for XL sized pizzas is a mini strip mall location in Wedgwood (Modena). Quatro Formaggi did not hold a candle to Cinque Formaggi from the fabled, long departed Atlantic Street Pizza on the upper Ave in the UDistrict from the 1990s (RIP Harry Nagamatsu). Notable though that the Fitchi House crew were very generous with the four cheeses and their version of Italian sausage. It was a bit heavy on the ricotta, and the raw diced tomatoes were a surprise. Two slices will fill you up easily in one sitting. Easy peasy online ordering, orders are accurate and hot/fresh, and friendly counter service. This place would have been a solid 4 star but the service brought it down. I ordered this place online for pickup, and although I came slightly Early, they haven't started making my food yet. As I watched the person made my food, I realized they forgot to put an ingredient in my sandwich, but I wasn't 100% sure, so I didn't say anything until the end And I was right, they forgot it. They were going to remake my sandwich but after seeing how long it took to make a sandwich, I just told them to put it on the side for me as I didn't want to wait longer. The chef special sandwich: it was surprisingly good, I like the toast on the sandwich, every thing was held together nicely and the flavor was on point. I also got the beef fitchi and the chicken Samsa. However, I didn't realize that they gave me both beef for the Samsa and the fitchi until I actually ate it so that was kinda disappointing. Fitchi and Samsa: both was very similar, except the fitchi had a juicier filling. Both was surprisingly light considering it looked like a calzone and a meat pie, they tasted more like a Dumpling. I enjoyed both of them. Definitely will need to come back to try the chicken version and other items on the menu. Price was also pretty reasonable as well read more

Very disappointed with the service. I've ordered lunch for delivery two days in a row -- the payment goes through, but nothing gets delivered. When I call an hour later to check on the order, they say they don't see it and hang up on me. I've had to report the charges to my credit card company as fraud. Mismanaged business. Avoid at all cost, they don't know what they're doing and all the food that they have is frozen that they warm up. We ordered and paid online but when we went to pickup our food, they said they didn't have the ingredients to make any part of our order. This review is based on one lunch delivered by Peach, which means I badly need to get to this restaurant. Their full menu looks amazing. On Peach, the only that was available were the calzones (several varieties). I ordered the vegetarian version, spinach, mozzarella, ricotta, and marinara. When it arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was the size of a small pizza. It was way too much food for one person. In fact, I ate less than half and fed the other half to my teenage son (with sides to make it a full meal). The crust was really good and there was a really good filling to crust ratio. I'm a big fan of Central Asian culture, including its food, which in my experience falls more on the "comfort food" side of the spectrum that I inhabit than haute cuisine. Despite being the center of the universe in the 15th century, the region is still largely unknown to the average American, so it came as a surprise to learn my wife was stopping by the new Fitchi House to bring home a few Turkmeni delicacies, including the eponymous house specialty the Fitchi, which the website describes as "a take on Turkmen traditional dish Ishlekli (Işlekli)". The Fitchi itself was delicious with a tasty meat filling (I suspect Vegans may be out of luck at the Fitchi House). The pastry was crispy and light. The filling also included quite a bit of broth that enhanced the taste but at the expense of serving as grab and go items - eat with a plate close at hand and a few napkins. We also had one Somsa, which we both found tasty; a distant cousin to the Samosas found on the other end of the Silk Road, I suspect. Perhaps it was this relationship that had me wishing for a little sauce to accompany it. The filling was similar to the Fitchi, however with a denser pastry shell, and it paired well. Still brothy and in need of that plate. Fitchi House appears to be following the "build the airplane as you fly it" approach to their development process, so there were a few noticeable miscues: our 6 Fitchi/1 Somsa combo started out as a 3 and 3, and my wife left convinced she had agreed to a 4 and 2, but somehow we picked up a couple of Fitchis and lost a Somsa; a website that still pays a bit too much homage to Lorem ipso and needs some focused dev time; and potential brand confusion (the owner still manages the predecessor business, Milano Pizza, out of the location). I am also hopeful other fillings might be in the offing. As it is, there is a risk of the menu being a bit one note. Nevertheless, it's hard to be too critical about a chance to eat this cuisine without the hassle of flying all the way to Ashgabat. Now all I need is a little kumis... read more

Tried both the fitchi and samsa - very similar except the samsa has more of a dry baked crust while the fitchi tastes closer to a juicy steamed bun as it's baked in a special pan instead of directly on the oven. read more

So first ordered the House Special pizza last week but asked to swap the green peppers for black olives. We got the substitution but there was still one stray green pepper. Not too big a deal for us but might be for anyone with an allergy. Last time had a LOT of onions. I reached out to the restaurant and they graciously offered to remake our pizza for us. PROS: The cheese on the baked spaghetti was a bit hard, but it wasn'tthe worst. Just a typical room service food. CONS: We ordered baked spaghetti and a calzone, however, we only received the baked spaghetti. We gave them a call and let them know we didn't receive our food, and they told us they would talk to the delivery man. They didn't call back for a while so we gave them a call again. This time, the person we spoke with said they didn't see our calzone order (even though our receipt literally says we ordered both), and said they will check again. Luckily they called back this time and said they can bring over the calzone because they saw it in our order, but we decided to have it refunded instead (since it's pretty late now). Beef fitchi was low quality meat mixed with onion. It seemed as bad as a McDonald's patty. Chicken samsa was better - a hand pie with dark meat - not quality meat but average and edible.
