Absolutely Outstanding Dining Experience The atmosphere at Alba on 53 feels upscale yet welcoming, making it perfect for a date night or special occasion. In our case, a company team holiday gathering The service was just as impressive as the food -more to come on that! Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and made sure everything was paced perfectly without feeling rushed. Alright I have a lot to say about the food cause I ate a whole lot! Can't take me on a company sponsored holiday dinner and expect me to not try... so many things!! No way I could resist $1 Oysters until 6pm. And so a couple dozen of em while we waited for the party to arrive! Duxbury Oysters insanely fresh & chucked to order Colossal Shrimp Cocktail Holy freaking jumbo size massive shrimp served with cocktail sauce & horseradish Alba Antipasto cured meat and cheese, grilled and marinated vegetables & honeycomb Chicken Wings Proper wings with a lot of meat cooked beautifully with harissa, za'atar & served with blue cheese Meatballs Live a good homemade meatball. mint tzatziki, feta, toasted pita Now for the main event... in comes the 36oz. Tomahawk Steak I was challenged to embark on this monster of a meat that was the most delicious and beautifully cooked steak I've ever had. A perfect mid rare, 36oz proved to be no challenge whatsoever. Felt like a badass Viking king. The ONLY reason for them missing out on that illusive 5th star... the Molten Lava Cake dessert. While the cake was delicious, sadly there was no lava

This place is serving three vibes, one address and I'm here for every single one. The bar side? Casual with TVs, moody lighting, and still classy enough for a date night. The main dining room? Elegant and perfect for a celebration. The patio? Laid-back and breezy... until it wasn't--but more on that in a second. We sat outside, soaking in the early evening air, and just as we got comfy with our drinks, bam--a bug brigade arrived, followed by a surprise rain shower. Here's where this place really impressed me. The staff moved like a Formula 1 pit crew. Before I even felt a raindrop, they were relocating tables, grabbing plates, and making sure no sushi was left behind. Seamless. Shoutout to our waitress who stayed calm, cool, and completely fabulous through it all. Now let's talk food. Complimentary bread with homemade butter started us off strong. I went with the Spicy Crunchy Roll--shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, avocado, wasabi tobiko, and I added jalapeños (because spicy should mean spicy, right?). Needed the heat bump, but flavor was on point. Paired it with the Mac & Cheese, which, yes, was an elite move--ultra creamy, cheesy, and topped with the kind of crumble that makes you question ever sharing. My boyfriend had the Braised Short Rib Gnocchi, which I totally would've ordered if I wasn't scared of mushrooms (I realized I could've got it without--so next time, it's mine). It was rich, tender, and melt-in-your-mouth good. Drinks? My rosé was dangerously drinkable--light, crisp, and patio-perfect (while the patio lasted). Should've just ordered the bottle. Boyfriend said the beer list was solid, and enjoyed his IPA. To top if off, my water glass was kept full all night, which is more rare than it should be. Originally from Quincy, this spot is now conveniently right down the road from our go-to stay when we're in the area, and I'm thrilled we finally got to try it. Fantastic service, gorgeous plates, and an atmosphere that can flex from casual to elevated depending on your mood. We'll definitely be back--maybe next time with an umbrella... and definitely with room for dessert.

I finally tried Alba in Hanover and it was excellent! The staff (from the hostess to the waitresses to the bartenders) were on top of their game and super friendly. We sat on the far side of the bar and although it was a Friday, we could hear each other. We got the calamari, the octopus, sushi to munch on and they were all very good, especially the grilled octopus. We never felt rushed and the bartenders were always accommodating and made us feel welcome. Even though the space is huge (with outdoor seating) there was plenty of room to stretch out yet it felt intimate. Highly recommend!

I came to Alba on 53 for Mother's Day as I've enjoyed this location in the past. I ordered steak with mashed potatoes and green beans and had the Winter in Italy cocktail. Everything was well prepared and tasty. Service was amicable and attentive. My only complaint would be the limited menu they had for Mother's Day. I will continue to return to this restaurant.

Alba on 53 is well located with tons of parking, next to a plaza with the movies and shopping. It's easily accessible/drivable. We were sat quickly, our waiter was attentive. Everyone we interacted with was pleasant. The food was super good. We got calamari, the braised oxtail Gnocchi, and steak with mashed potatoes. For dessert we got banana bread pudding. The calamari was perfectly flavored. Well crisped, and still hot. Served with two sauces, cocktail and a creamier mayo sort of sauce. The quantity is definitely enough for two persons. The coating was light, the perfect bite. The braised short rib gnocchi was also very good. Well seasoned, the flavored paired well together. The gnocchi was a soft bite, not soggy or undercooked. My partners steak looked immaculate. Perfectly cooked, which alot of restaurants simply don't get right (he got it medium rare). His potatoes were whipped to the GODS, too whipped for me personally but still VERY good. The dessert was **chef kiss**, banana pudding. The English kind not the jello kind. It was amazing, the ice cream on top also paired well, super sweet- but very very good. The drinks were decent also. I recommend the snowbird. The old fashioned tasted watered down; but it could've also maybe have been the bourbon used? The espresso martini was also a perfect sip! Either way. Highly recommend! The restaurants decor i would describe as modern, and comfortable. There's a very warm feeling to it. It's spacious, plentiful. Not overwhelming. I would dress business casual, or "dress casual".

Chicken platter (comes with chicken, goat cheese, and veggies)

This place is amazing. The ambiance, staff, and food were all wonderful. I will definitely be coming back next time I am in town! P.S You cannot leave here without getting one of their desserts (coming from someone who doesn't typically eat desserts at restaurants).

Upon arrival, the place is very modern and looks brand new. I think our server said they have been there for 2 years now. Same owners as Brothers Roast Beef in Quincy and numerous South Shore cities, which was new information to me. We all had some drinks and then ordered the Buffalo Chicken Dip which was okay. My only complaint is it wasn't whole chicken pieces, it was more of shredded chicken but still not bad. We all ordered salads. I got the Greek Chicken salad which was good. My friends also had salads and there were plenty of leftovers to bring home. I couldn't resist their banana fosters bread pudding! It was delicious. The bar area is perfect to watch sports games with their big screen TVs. I know I will be back for sure sometime. If you are in the area, I highly recommend checking this restaurant out. Cheers~

I have been here many times over the years with many different people, friends and family and it is fairly consistently wonderful. I don't recall having a bad meal here ever. There is a lovely room that has a fireplace when you first enter the establishment. It is especially nice in the winter when the fire is roaring and we have a toasty drink to make everything extra cozy. However, it is equally pleasant in May! My sister and I shared several appetizers, which together constituted a delicious meal for each of us. We ordered an appetizer called Bourbon Brown Sugar BBQ Ribs that came with four very meaty flavorful ribs. We ordered two separate sides of the delicious mashed potatoes that they serve at this establishment. We also ordered one very large crab cake appetizer we ate the crabcake first. We then placed the ribs on top of the mashed potatoes with a couple of the delicious pickles that were served with the ribs. It was absolutely scrumptious. See the photo! For dessert, I ordered a flourless Flourless Chocolate Cake with crumbled peanut brittle served with a generous scoop of vanilla bean ice cream. The cake was moist and delicious with almost a rich pudding consistency inside it contrasted amazingly well with a flavorful crunchy topping of peanut brittle and a smooth cold refreshing mound of ice cream. In a word this dessert was as maddeningly delicious as it sounds. Highly recommend!

No one was forgotten, no order was mixed up, no delays...just top tier customer service across the board. Now let's talk about the food...because wow. The bread basket came out fresh and warm (dangerously good), and set the tone immediately. I had the stuffed fish, and it was cooked to perfection--flavorful, well seasoned, and not heavy at all. Paired it with a fresh salad tossed in a mustard vinaigrette that was light, tangy, and just right. And the mocktails? So good. Crafted beautifully, refreshing, and not an afterthought like some places make them feel. What I love most is the consistency. Whether it's date night, a casual dinner, or a big group outing, Burtons shows up every single time. Great food, amazing service, and an experience that just feels easy. 10/10...every time.

The "togarashi-crusted" tuna was not crusted at all--completely bland, with no seasoning or flavor. It tasted like it had been frozen, thawed, and simply dropped into the bowl. The rest of the ingredients were just as underwhelming. Everything was placed in separate, unappealing mounds around the bowl: a pile of tasteless sushi rice with a few sesame seeds, hard and underripe avocados chunks, unseasoned raw shredded carrots, smashed vinegar cucumbers with no trace of cilantro and beside that were the overpowering pickled red onions. To make matters worse, it all sat awkwardly on top of a mayonnaise ginger-soy aioli that did nothing to bring the dish together. There was no balance, no cohesion, and absolutely no flavor. It looked unappetizing and tasted even worse. I barely touched it. The server never asked why, and even if she had, I was with coworkers and wouldn't have felt comfortable saying how bad it was. For $28, this was unacceptable. Honestly, it felt like something a child threw together--bland, poorly executed, and completely lacking care. Would not order again.

When he did come to us, an undisclosed amount of time later, he was kind and thorough and not at all showing the stress I'm sure he was feeling. I saw only one other server the entire time we were there and I'm sure he was taking all of the tables in the dining room we couldn't see. I'm sorry I cannot remember our servers name. Both men were bald and one was wearing glasses. Ours was the one without the spectacles. He remained busy through our meal, and we enjoyed the entire thing. Burrata with prosciutto to start, and then a Wellington to split. Both were phenomenal. The drinks were amazing, even with accommodations for one ingredient I am allergic to. I went with a friend for lunch yesterday (Thursday), and after trying pretty much all of the major restaurants in the Hingham/JNorwell/Cohasset area, this restaurant was clearly at the top of my list. We were served the Wagyu Beef Sliders and the Bacon & Carmelized Onion Arancini for appetizers, and the Pulitzer Short Rib Burger and Norwell Hot Chicken Sandwich for entrees. I say that we were "served" those things because we actually ordered the Bavarian Pretzels and not the Wagyu Beef Sliders, but because the sliders were so delicious, we figured that we'll try the pretzels on the next go around. All four of our dishes were absolutely fantastic. The sliders and arancini were absolutely top-notch. I've had so many average arancini that I forgot what it's like when cooked at a high-level. It's as good as any I've had anywhere. And the Pulitzer Burger is now my favorite burger ever. Just the right amount of char on the outside with the inside a perfect medium. The chicken was moist with fantastic seasoning. The unexpected surprise were the fries. The fries here are outstanding. And they achieve something that I've never seen anywhere else: their fries are "pillowy". They are crispy on the outside, but the inside is remarkably moist and fluffy. I'd have to categorize these as steak fries, but steak fries are usually a bit denser. Service was terrific, and the decor of the place is not "dated", as another reviewer commented. The place was clearly built to give off a classic and intimate vibe. I didn't try any of the fish offerings this time, but I plan on returning and checking them out. The hollandaise was cold, the eggs were over-poached, the English muffin only was toasted on one side and the hash browns lacked flavor. Even the coffee I ordered with my meal arrived lukewarm.
