The restaurant itself is small and eclectically decorated, but clean and comfortable. Food was basic... I ordered a French dip, or their equivalent to it. Bread not toasted, no horseradish or anything. Just bread pulled straight out of the package and cooked meat. My husband liked his burger. My mother in-law did not enjoy her fish tacos, and my father in-law didn't eat any of the soup he ordered. Our server was okay. She did the bare minimum and literally nothing more. She took our order, brought our food, brought the check, and nothing else. She didn't offer refills on drinks, didn't care that my father in-law didn't touch his food, didn't offer boxes. She was nice, but I've had far better service elsewhere. Would I return? Nope. This restaurant is way out of my way, and there was nothing memorable or crave-worthy to bring me back. I'm a fan of white sauce, garlic, jalapeños and bread crumbs. The service was good, very friendly. The portion for the price is reasonable. $10 for a meal is cheap nowadays. I liked the heat and kick of the jalapeños. There were too many jalapeños for the portion size. I felt like I got 2 jalapeños in every bite. The heat intensity kept increasing because of how many jalapeños there were. I thought the Mac and Cheese itself was bland. I couldn't taste the garlic in the sauce. There was more cheese than sauce consistency. I still enjoyed the Mac and Cheese. The Mac and Cheese wasn't gourmet or the best I've had, but for the price I was satisfied. I like the way the kitchen places, the lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles in a small pile next to your burger so you can add any or all of it to your burger. The servers also bring out ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, and ranch dressing to add your burger if you choose. I like all hamburgers so this burger goes in my top five list. She was rarely at our table and spent more time talking with the bartender and who I assume are regulars who were sitting at the bar. When our food came out she said "you also ordered the teres major right?" While setting it in front of me before I said no. She then said "oh yeah, I knew that was wrong before I even said anything" and that she had put my order in wrong. She said she'd have the cooks put a rush on it but you can't really put a rush on a steak. She brought out the sides that go with my dish so I wouldn't be without food but the green beans were incredibly salty and the mashed potatoes were dry and almost cold. When my mom offered to let me have some of her steak for the time being the waitress butted in to say "she does have food coming". When my steak finally came out everyone else was already finished eating but she did bring it out with fresh sides and the mashed potatoes were much better! Granted the texture and appearance was so different from the first ones it really made me wonder just how old those first potatoes were which grossed me out a bit. My steak was delicious and I did get a side of chimichurri which was the best chimichurri I've had in a long time. My sister said the sauce for her seafood linguini was pretty bland but she otherwise enjoyed her dish. My mom also mentioned the teres major was really good.
