We stood at the speaker for a few minutes, I thought okay maybe they're a little busy that's understandable. However minutes went by, at this point almost 10 minutes. Some employee came out, appeared to be getting off of work however did not say a word, just stared us down and got into his truck. I understand that too, you're off the clock or on break or whatever. But I ask the speaker "hello?" "hello?" and still NO answer. At this point, my sister and I are already considering going to a different location. Bomb.com. Was on the hunt for some loaded fries in the area, and what really drew me here was that here they use shoestring fries. IMO it's the only way to go for chili cheese fries--but rarely if ever have I seen these for asada fries. And oh does it make all difference. The adobada was deeply marinated and tender; all meat and no gristly bits! And the biggest surprise was the guacamole. Fresh guac!! I know it's a preference thing but I am just not a fan at ALL of the creamy aguamole at most spots so I usually request it taken off. This was punchy and chunky just the way I like it. Boy did this hit the spot. Washed it all down with a delicious sandía agua fresca I saw another yelper recommend, which also did notttt disappoint. This was my first time at Albert's Mexican Food and I had nothing but good things to say. There were so many drive through places to choose from, but I'm so glad we ultimately settled on Albert's. DO NOT get this place mixed up with similar ones close by. As soon as we pulled up to the speaker, he greeted us kindly and took our order. - Carne Asada Nachos + Fries (5/5): Very delicious and filling! All for only $15. It comes with guac, sour cream, a bunch of cheese, etc. Very very yummy and I would get it again in the future. I loved both the green and red sauces so you won't regret either of them. - Watermelon Agua (5/5): I loved this drink so much! It was so refreshing and the watermelon chunks in the drink were perfection! Not soggy at all and still very crisp, meaning that the agua is made fresh. A must get! Mr. Negron was so helpful and friendly, I'll definitely come back soon and recommend Albert's to my friends and family. The prices are worth it for the amount of food you get and the quality. Even after the short drive home, our nachos and fries were still crispy and hot. Albert's is open late so you can get your munchies after a night out. 10/10!! read more

It is a solid place. Asada fries I would give 3/5. It was an okay order. Service was quick. The menu is huge! Feels like a decent place for quick take out. The menu and food is pretty straight forward. We ordered through drive thru. I wish there was more cheese to my asada fries, I will give it kudos for not having tendon asada pieces. read more

This place needs to really make their foods in a consistent basis. I ordered the Chile Verde plate but this 2nd time around it was sooo spicy it hurts my mouth. The 1st time I ordered it was ok. Not thr best but this time around it was so freaking spicy that I had to down my horchata drink. It's ridiculous on how spicy this time. Asada/ fries in california burrito were dry with no flavor and looking back I was charged 15.95 (after tax) which is more than if I were to order super fries which was 14.55 (after tax) at a different location which makes no sense since the burrito is smaller than an order of super fries. Not a good deal for what I got. Very sad because this was my favorite location back in high school when it was still near mtn view. read more

My absolute favorite go to place for asada fries, among other things. If I want a quick bite, the california burrito is the best way to go. Also, It's hard to find any spots that offer grilled chiles and onions, I always have to include it in my order. I enjoy this place so much that sometimes I have to order it on doordash before it closes on my way home from work. The other day I tried their melon (cantaloupe) aqua fresca and I hope it's here to stay! Their watermelon one is good too but the cantaloupe takes the cake. Disclaimer: I've only ever ordered food from them so I don't know anything about their physical location. I'm from San Diego and I'm sorry but I think it's hard to find comparable Mexican food in LA haha. LA has a lot of nice authentic Mexican food but I also want a good burrito or carne asada fries without being hit with a bunch of rice and beans or nacho cheese inside/on them. I also can't find good taquitos to-go, they're only good at the sit down restaurants. Anyways, their California burrito, taquitos and their super fries are exactly what I was looking for in LA. I've tried so many other places and it just didn't hit the same as SD. The California burrito has the perfect ratio of meat, potatoes and pico. The super fries are soooo good. They put a lot of guacamole in it and they aren't heavy handed on their sour cream which is so nice! They do have beans in them but I ask for it without. It's a big meal so either share it or save it for leftovers. Their taquitos are also covered in a nice helping of guac and cheese. They don't skimp you in ingredients! Pricing is fair too. My only criticism is that I wish their hot sauce tasted better. It's not bad but it's kind of average? It needs more heat or something. Finally tried this place! We got 2 sausage, bacon and ham breakfast burritos - one without potatoes. They gave us grilled jalapeños and yellow peppers, along with their green and red salsas. Usually when the burritos are good, the salsas suck - NOT HERE. The salsas were equally as good, which made the breakfast burrito that more enjoyable. I've order over a dozen times from this place with multiple dishes but I would have to say my favorite which actually is not on the menu and I have the pleasure to say I was the first to request is the "Mexican Crazy Breakfast Nachos." I already liked their crazy nachos and their crazy burrito so one early morning after a late night of drinking when I called in my order I asked "Martha" if it was possible to have the nachos and burrito combined, she clearly hesitated for a moment but after I elaborate further she simply said yes like a " Mexican Crazy Breakfast Nachos." Albert's Menu has just about anything you could want from a Mexican restaurant. They have a drive-thru, so you don't have to get out of your car while they definitely have more authentic choices than what you'd find at a Taco Bell or any major fast-food chain. Albert's crispy shell tacos are so delicious! The rice and refried beans are fresh and tasty, without being masked or overly saturated with extra seasoning. There's quite a selection of agua frescas. The agua fresca de pepino (cucumber) is so refreshing as well as thirst-quenching. Don't confuse Albert's with Alberto's because Albert's salsas are made from scratch. Albert's also has Chile Asados ready to serve for an extra 25¢ each. I can't wait for the next time I find myself in El Monte to order more food from Albert's! ¡Muy Sabroso! read more
