Alberta Cooperative Grocery is amazing. I used to frequent it when I lived in PDX in the day circa 2004 to 2005. On a recent visit here it is still a special place worth visiting and supporting. Kate, who works in bulk, was friendly and helpful. I ended up picking up some goji berries in bulk, harmless coconut water to hydrate the walkabout in the sun, and some medjool dates rolled in coconut with a sliced date on top. They have a great variety of everything from flowers, to heaps in bulk including: numerous whole grains, to various local coffee beans, almonds, and even reishi mushrooms in bulk. I try to eat a lot of whole grains. Quinoa is a staple of mine in San Francisco for it cooks fast, is high in protein, and just make sure to rinse first. 20 min it is done. For produce they had amazing heirloom tomatoes in a variety of colors, avocado, and heaps of greens which are a favorite of mine. Greens such as kale cook up fast with a little bit of olive oil or steamed. Anyone living in or visiting Portland should check out this gem of a store with amazing products and friendly helpful staff.

Love it here! My wife and I are staying in Portland for a week and this has been a staple. Great selection of local produce, local wine, yummy pastries, and friendly staff. Also, a wonderful variety of plant-based delights. Highly recommend!

Magnificent place. The one store in Portland that has Agar Agar.

Great service. You ask a question and two people run to find your answer. If they were closer, I'd be here every week.

Alberta Cooperative Grocery's "Find Pickles" Game

This review is NOT based on their produce or market goods haha. My friends and I were exploring Alberta Street and we were told there was this game to be played at the market. So...this review is based on that haha. (We weren't tourists at all haha). FIND PICKLES: There's a flyer located in the front of the store labeled with "Can you find Pickles the Co-Op Kitten?" It was a fun 10-15 minutes trying to find the (fake) kitten. Something fun to do if you're in the area. Definitely decently hidden haha.

Do you carry Raw unpasteurized milk? I've been there before, but never asked about it. And do you offer delivery?

Hello! Thanks so much for your question! At the moment, we do not carry raw unpasteurized milk. We've tried looking into other retailers to direct you to, but it appears that reaching directly to dairy farms are your best bet for potentially getting…

And you can't beat the prices here! Whether I'm looking for preassembled bouquets, or assembling my own, I generally find what I need here. The only drawback of shopping in this location is the parking lot. It's a very busy thoroughfare given the proximity to the Hollywood transit station, and the freeway offramp, so there's always a lot going on here. There isn't much space to park in the neighborhood if the parking lot is full, so I've been known to circle the lot a few times before finding a space. Trader Joe's hires the friendliest staff in the world, no matter the location, but I've always felt very welcome in this location. Everyone is always smiling and seems happy to be at work.

OMG, were these good! I just had to give a review of Trader Joe's at the store where she purchased them. Get this the price was like just $3.49 or something like that. These 4 tarts in a box, so that's like less than $1.00 each. Just heat them up in the oven for 1/2 hour and they're ready! I just had to check out Trader Joe's and see them for myself and maybe get a box or two to heat up at the hotel for later. I think there's an oven I can use or last resort the microwave in the room. It took a little searching the frozen aisles to find them, but I did. I checked, there's like 4 Trader Joe's just in the Portland area. You gotta really try these things.
