We are excited to see our neighborhood on the Northside flourish with new businesses. We love the design of the restaurant bringing focus to the beautiful pizza oven. Not over decorated and fresh flowers on all tables. Great simple touch with just the right amount of color. The overall ambiance was brought together with cool music. Reece, the hostess, was so sweet with a really cool vibe. Rachel, who waited on us, was very sweet and great at her job. We have always loved their pizza, so we knew we would love our meal. We chose House Potato Chips, the Cry Baby Pizza, Sponge Cake Desert, and house white wine. All were great. The house Potato Chips were yummy. They do not come with a dipping sauce. I wish Alberta's would make their own aioli or ketchup\. After asking Rachel for a sauce that is made in house she mentioned their whipped ricotta. It was ok, but bland, so it did not give much flavor. The pizza was very good. It only serves 2 people, so if you are hungry you may want to order more from their Small Plates Menu. Our pizza, The Cry Baby, was $23.00. It is a more expensive pizza, but they are using better ingredients. My husband loves desert. I told him to order the Sponge Cake. He said no. As soon as he read the word, "Sponge" he thought Angel Food Cake. We ordered and it was delicious. It is not an Angle Food Cake. It is a more dense cake with better flavor. It was the perfect ending to a wonderful meal. Not to sweet or heavy to end our meal. Alberta's may want to change the name of the desert. I had the house white wine, which I was pleasantly surprised as to how good it was. It was a great evening and recommend Alberta's. Our bill with tip came in around $100.00. I finally tried Alberta's was blown away by their pizzas! They are definitely in my top five favorite pizza spots. It is pretty small inside so we had to wait like 20 minutes for a table, which wasn't bad. Their menu is on the smaller side with most of the emphasis being on the pizzas, but honestly why would you want to eat anything else! For drinks, we tried the Dirty Martini, Primo Spritz, and Pistone. For food we tried the Caprese, Extra bread w Zata and Olive Oil, Jabroni Pizza, Fennel & Cucumber Salad, Hot Sopp Pizza, and the Margarita with Prosciutto Pizza. I still can't get over how good the pizzas were!! My favorite was definitely the Margarita with the added Prosciutto; it was absolutely phenomenal. The Caprese was also super delish and refreshing. So thrilled to have Alberta's in the Northside at their new brick & mortar location on Western Ave! Not only do they have a great selection of pizzas to choose from, but so much more including small plates, salads, some entrees, amazing cocktails and a stellar wine list. I was soo excited to see oysters on the half on the menu, and they were absolutely delicious. You can tell a lot of thought and detail went into the making of this restaurant down to the menu design itself. Service was nice and attentive, and they actually have a service fee on all checks so tipping is optional. It's refreshing to see a place treating their employees well. Super cute place and I would go for drinks and apps but probably never for dinner again. We had to wait about 20 min for a table which wasn't bad for a weekend evening. Service was super friendly but slow and the kitchen was slow as well. That said, I don't think they know how to handle things when it gets busy. I read all the reviews about amazing pizza but ours was so undercooked that the dough was raw in places. Sounds like it's relatively new so maybe they need more practice with crowds. read more

This is a strange place. I had originally tried to go with a friend, when she had an emergency and had to cancel, my husband and son came with me instead. They would not even try to work with is to sit because "the reservation was too close to the time, and it was for a bar seat." While I COMPLETELY understand that a child cannot sit at the bar, they didn't offer to try to squeeze us at a small table, adjust anything or try and make it work in any way possible. It was so weird since I did have a reservation and we were there, ready to give them revenue. When I did go back with a friend, we were rushed through dinner (which had just been served) and told they needed "to turn the table." Never in my life have I been told that the table needed to be turned over. I get it, bodies = money. BUT when we did leave the table, we went to get a drink at the bar and no one sat at the table for FOURTY FIVE MINUTES. Never going back. I am so disappointed and was so excited for this team. Pizza was close to the quality of the food truck, but the dough was slightly undercooked and raw. The salad was basic but fresh, the prawns were the highlight. Unfortunately the service and cost associated thereof was unbearable and will keep me and mine from returning. I was left unattended for the majority of the meal. I needed to ask for anything and everything. Upon receiving the check was informed of the 20% mandatory charge for "back and front of house" - but "not including your server. That is additional". I had heard about this situation from others but didn't quite fully understand. Since when is a server not included in the definition of "front of house"? Who else is there? The owner? Is this why the service was well below average? This equates to a service charge, if you choose to tip your server (which you clearly want to do) of nearly 40%, depending on how you decide to interpret this policy. Even the staff don't understand the policy at the place they choose to work for a living. It is an extremely expensive endeavor at Albertas, about a 100+ per person for pizza and one glass of wine plus all the gratuities. It's ludicrous and uncomfortable and feels like straight greed - or just someone who doesn't know how to run a business. Unfortunately, I cannot be a patron to a place who treats a customer like a piggy bank. read more

We recently decided that this was our favorite pizza in Pittsburgh. The crust is unmatched anywhere else - it's so chewy, flavorful, buttery, crispy. We love the margherita and the white boy (add arugula). Margherita: mozzarella, sauce, basil, grana. White boy: mozzarella, garlic, oregano, basil, rosemary, pecorino. Absolutely ended terribly! We had a party of 6 for 5pm. The whole dinner was rushed! At 6:46 our check came and we cashed out. Literally 4 minutes later the manager came over and said "we have to leave because the next guests have arrived ". We weren't even done with our drinks and they threw us out! I have been to countless restaurants and that has never happened to me, especially after our bill was over $350 before tip. You get less than 2 hours for dinner?!?! However, just 4 minutes after receiving our check, the owner came over and rushed us out, even though we still had a lot of our beer left (he joked about chugging the beer to hurry). We were looking forward to returning as we are locals to the neighborhood, but this abrupt exit really soured the experience. We weren't offered a seat at the bar, no subtle hints were dropped. Several others near us (who sat after) got their pizzas before us. The guy was rude as he brought our pizza to us after we had suggested they should communicate how long the wait would be - as we would NEVER wait over an hour for food from truck! To top it off, the pizza was just average - nothing amazing - and definitely not worth an hour +wait.... It's also coincidental that our pizzas were the last to be served - albeit several folks ordered pizzas after us - we believe our orders were skipped/looked over-and if do, a simple ops, sorry would have gone a long way. Dropped in on Saturday while visiting 4Ps anniversary. It was 330 and pretty light on guests. Me and my buddy sat at the bar to order some pies and bring them next door to not bother this establishment with our crazy crew of multiple children. I've been loving Alberta's pizza truck for years at breweries. The food is incredible. During our visit of the 2 week old brick and mortar, I have nothing but good things to say about the food. Awesome all around. Where I do have negative to say is about the attitude and passive aggressiveness of the owner. Jessica's review resonates with our experience. You would think with automated gratuity and high demand the staff and owner would want to flip seats as fast as possible. We enjoyed one pie at the bar, with beverages, and asked for boxes for the two other pies so we can take them next door. The owner brought the pies to us unboxed and acted like we were asking to move earth by putting them in boxes. For a company that has been dealing with a mobile service for years, you would think they understand customer service. They need to learn their identity and evolve quickly if they plan to survive long term. Food is great. Maybe that is enough to survive. Our experience at Albertas was good but not great. First, while waiting for a table we ordered a bottle of wine. I stated and pointed to the one that we wanted. When I went to check out, it was almost double the price of what was on the menu. They did rectify it. Once seated, our waitress was friendly enough. We split pizzas and apps. I did feel a little bit rushed though. I understand they're busy and trying to flip tables but i did feel like we were being burdensome by wanting to take our time and enjoy our company. read more

I tried Alberta's Pizza at the Dancing Gnome Brewery which they frequent. I went with the traditional margarita pizza and the white pizza. We also tried the pot stickers. I thought it was super cool that a pizza food truck also had pot stickers and was so interested in trying them. They were very delicious. Both pizzas were delicious as well- the margarita being my favorite. The sauce was so fresh and the cheese was as well and the dough was DIVINE.
