Using the Albertson'a app has been a such a gift. There are digital only deals for online orders that are just killer. However, the quality of their customer service has been inconsistent - from downright horrible to great. My first time picking up an order went as smooth as silk. The next few times were ridiculous. Our pick up time wasn't upheld. Not only that, they hadn't yet started gathering our items. Another time, we were lied to about our online order - whether they actually received it or not - then about whether they had employees available, etc. We set pickup time for 6pm but physically picked it up around 8:30pm. I was promised a follow-up from the local manager by the online customer service rep but never received it. The online deals are hard to beat so we won't stop altogether but we may try alternatives before shopping here. read more

I placed an order on 01/21/2026. It was supposed to be delivered to my work between 1-2pm that day. It was delayed. I called them to ask if they could change the delivery to the next day because we were closing and my delivery was too late. They said no, I'd have to contact Uber or Door Dash. They tried delivering at almost 8pm at night. #1, even if at my home, that is too late. I go to bed early because I get up at 3:30am. The driver cancelled my order because the business was closed, obviously. I then called this morning to ask if they could deliver my order today and again was told I'd have to call Uber or Door Dash. They couldn't even tell me which one. I'd have to call around and find out. WHY IS IT MY RESPONSIBILITY to hunt down whoever is supposed to deliver my items when I ordered thru ALBERTSONS. I didn't order thru Door Dash or Uber. Albertsons should be responsible for my delivery and if something is wrong, ALBERTSONS should be handling it, not the consumer. Now, I can't even get my money back because the Manager won't be there until tomorrow so now you stole $113 of my hard earned money for 2-3 days and can't get it back until a "manager" can refund it?? I'm sorry but there are other grocery stores that will deliver to me, so I will use them instead. read more

I live in Alpine and Albertsons is the biggest market that we have, except for Baron's. I try to avoid the deli department due to being ignored and waiting for a bit. I decided today to get some fresh cold cuts and French bread to make an Italian sandwich for the family. I was waited on by Jordan! What a pleasant experience with him being very kind,aware and cutting my cold cuts exactly how I wanted. He took pride in his job and I fully appreciate that. I personally think he should be the deli manager and help others to be as awesome as he is. When I see him in the deli I will purchase more from the deli as he made my day. read more

They literally never have anything. Four time in a row now I've placed orders for pick up that end up being a pointless trip and waste of gas and miles because they don't have more than half the items available. I literally have picked up at different times also. Why say something is in stock when it's clearly not? Then try to substitute the items with shi* that's completely different. It's super upsetting and inconvenient. I live far and this is the only close grocery store around where my items won't be completely melted by the time I get back. So, I'm stuck coming to this pathetic place that calls itself a grocery store. Like honestly they should just shut down at this point or just not offer items they clearly don't have. read more

5$ Friday has gone severely downhill. Strawberry deal ... almost all were unripe and there were many that already had mold on them. I ordered 3 dozen cupcakes, half vanilla and half chocolate, plain, no decorations, 2 days ago, for pick up this morning at 6 am. Upon arrival, they had 2 dozen for my order, decorated with Halloween trinkets. They acknowledged that I order 3 dozen, and then told me they "ran out" of cupcakes. I was confused, I pre-ordered them 2 days prior so they would be baked in advance for my order. They compensated by giving me 4 dozen decorated with birthday trinkets. Not what I ordered, but since we were celebrating office birthdays, I took them. I do not recommend using Albertson's for pre-ordering anything. They seem to be confused about the entire process and concept of "ordering ahead of time." read more

Do not order "pick up" from this Alpine Albertsons store! At 3:30pm today, I placed an order pick-up for 6pm...At 5:55 I receive an alert notification that my pick up time will be delayed...When I called to ask why, I get a girl (Michaela) whose popping bubblegum or something else, in my ear, explaining that they are extremely understaffed, & might not get to my 22 item order, until the following morning! Now why wasn't I notified at the onset, that they were experiencing delays? Is it my fault that Albertsons doesn't hire the proper amt of people to secure adequate customer service?!?! I am a regular at the Alpine, CA location. Last November I stopped going because the cashier (can't recall name) and the bagger,Cathy, were incredibly rude. I shopped elsewhere for a while but recently went back to the Alpine location. Today was another bad experience with cashier Robert and bagger Cathy (again). I don't appreciate being yelled at for putting my resuable bags on the belt (I was the only person in line). I had two bags. Cathy, who couldn't stop talking to Robert long enough to do her job, used one bag, packed thing poorly then through the rest of the groceries in the cart, ignoring the second bag completely. I am tired of being treated like garbage by staff who clearly could care less. This used to be a great store with friendly staff. Went there after work to grab some sodas and drinks for the kids. Walk by the beer cooler and they had a sale on a brand I like. Got to the front check out when I noticed four people with carts full at the one register. The only one open. Staff mostly wondering around doing nothing. Went to the self-checkout closest to the front and the override terminal. Asked a younger guy and middle-aged woman if they could ring up the beer. The boy said they probably could and the middle-aged woman just ignored me. Left the beer on the counter. Wasn't about to wait 20 minutes for a 12-pack. I love that they've added a serve yourself soup & salad bar. Everything is fresh and the last few times I've been in they've kept the containers full. They seem to have started opening more registers and there are a lot of new faces when I check out. Jordan is very friendly cashier and I saw him dancing while pushing carts outside one day which was awesome. He brought joy to myself and others as we watched him happily collect the carts. It's nice to see employees enjoying their jobs. It's a pleasant change from not all but some of the seasoned cashiers I've interacted with here over the years. We decided to come here since we needed some sandwich fixings for our stay at Viejas. Trying to save money since eating out can be expensive. This location isn't so busy on a weekday. Store is clean and organized. We kept walking to the soda section and the guy kept refilling shelves of soda. They have lots of items available on the day we came. I also saw the clearance rack. It was full of stuff. I definitely liked that but didn't purchase anything in the clearance rack. I even found lipsticks but they looked like they were old. Plenty of parking up front. I saw a customer service agent get mouthy with an African American customer what curse her out. It was so unprofessional what I witnessed. I always shop for my grocery and medications at Albertsons. Prices are somewhat higher than other stores but the quality is great. I can find just about everything I need. Produce is fresh and the shells are always stocked. If you can't find what your'e looking for all you have to do is find staff and ask them to check for you. The store is quite clean and staff is very friendly and knowledgeable including the pharmacy. The store is located on the the main street in Alpine with plenty of parking. Disable parking is located directly in front of the store. Starbucks is located inside the store. A bakery and butcher shop are located inside a well. Visiting from out of New Mexico, their Habanero peppers were on sale per pound (found out they were switching over to the quantity pricing)....I thought to myself I am buying EVERY last one of these mofo's like my life depends on it. Where I am from its price is based on quantity, this was a no brainer. 2.8lbs of Habaneros later I would like to thank the manager and cashiers for passing no judgment but smiling and laughing at my excitement as I claimed to of hit the pepper lottery! This isn't a one time ordeal, literally the past four times I've come to the deli section to buy chicken strips the two lady's working back there have their back turned to costumers, will look back and then carry on pre packaging other things. Today I waited ten minutes and they still didn't help. Like I said before, this isn't a one time frustration, these woman do this often. 06/05/22 at 11 am is when these two ladies are working, I suggest coming in the afternoon if you'd actually like some help or management maybe training these ladies on costumer service. What ever happened to cashiers saying hello to customers when they walk up?! The last couple of times that I've been there, I have been completely ignored when I walk up to the register because the "kids" working at the register are too busy chopping it up with their coworkers. This evening Matt was too busy talking to his 20 something manager to even acknowledge that I was there. It took Matt forever to ring me up because he kept stopping to talk to his friends at work. In fact I was starting to wonder if Matt was high because he was so confused about me bringing my own bags and actually getting the damn groceries in the bags. My review is really aimed at being a shout-out to Nancy. I stopped at Albertsons Friday on my way home from work. I was getting three bunches of flowers. Nancy was in front of me in line. I assume she just got off work as well because she was still in her blue Albertsons shirt and black apron. She asked if I was getting the flowers for myself. I could only muster a weak "No." She then had the cashier ring up one of my flowers. She told me that she was getting the flowers for me, and that she wanted to make sure I kept them for myself. I got a fourth bunch, leaving with my three intended and the one that Nancy purchased. Nancy didn't know that my friend and neighbor died in a car accident the night before. I was getting the flowers to leave at the site of the car crash going towards Campo. My friend left behind a husband, and two children (the three people I intended the three bunches of flowers to represent at her crash site.) I normally work nights, but my supervisor had me go home because I couldn't keep my emotions under control at work. I was struggling to not cry at the register. I'm sure Nancy only saw a service member (I was still in my Navy uniform) and wanted to do an act of kindness and support. But her actions really meant a lot to me that day. Many views are harsh about this location, but it doesn't mean they're not true. Prices do seem higher than other stores, but it's the franchise, not just this location. I sometimes shop at the El Cajon location near my sons home and the prices are the same. I watch their flyer very carefully for their sale items and stock up then. I also go to Barons market for their sales as well as Ranch Farmers market, all in Alpine. It's a pain to go back to the store twice for the same items, but at least they offer rainchecks that other don't or have discontinued. To me that's a plus. Fortunately I don't have to drive down the hill for stores to honor rainchecks. We're still a small enough community that it can't support two major grocery stores YET!!! But, someday it will and we'll also have our own high school too... As the lion king says "don't worry, be happy!", it could be worse, they could shut down and then where would we be? This store is the only one I shop at for groceries in alpine. Yes the prices are higher then down the hill but honestly I actually get treated nicer here then vons. Only down fall is that the veggies seem to Rot a day it so after you buy them. No biggy I just go to sprouts later on in the week. The employes are nice, except the lady with long brown hair in the deli talk about hating your job lol. The cashiers always recognize faces and ask if I don't have my kids where they are. It's nice to have a little familiarity shopping in a big chain store. read more
