Needed several deli trays for two day conference. Two days of orders, plus amazingly helpful and patient phone calls while ordering (remotely, none of uss are locaal to PR.). Really nice staff. All food prepared daily; yummy. Good pricing! We will use them for conference next year too. read more

I just received my first delivery order from Albertsons. The fresh items they sent are all lovely and fresh. The prices were very reasonable and I was given credit for items on sale. The delivery arrived right when expected. I am very impressed. As an older person with a husband having medical issues I cannot tell you how helpful this service is. read more

I would say that the people in the pick up orders department are the laziest. I called because my disabled father in law placed an order set for today at 7 to 8. He then decided a minute later he needed more but there wasn't a pick up time for the second order the same same day. So I called and a younger sounding girl was giggling about my father in law being disabled and I would need both orders today. I explained to her we live in Cayucos and did not want to make two trips. She said there were other orders ahead of mine and could not put the second order with the first. She told me to shop for the second order myself when I pick up the first one. I do drive up because I have a baby and I don't want to have the baby crying the whole time. Right after I hung up I got a message that they ate shopping for my first order. So obviously there weren't other orders in front of mine. She was just an overall rude girl. She is the one working in pick up orders today 4-24 at 430 pm. I didn't get her name. Definitely needs to learn that she better not laugh about disabled people. read more

This is one of those Albertsons that has Starbucks inside. It's what I expected and I wasn't let down. The service was quick, and the drink was spot on. They have a nice little seating area inside if you want to hang out for a bit. It was clean and tidy. This little Starbucks is a good one if you just wanna grab something quick and be on your way. Way better than Vons in Atascadero. Customer service actually exists here. There isn't much of a wait for cashiers, and they actually have self checkout stands! The variety of items is so much better as well. Their clearance rack seems regularly updated too. This place looks more organized, and the manager is actually friendly. We'd rather add 10 minutes to our drive than shop at Vons! read more

We dont have an Albertsons in my home town. But everyone was friendly and nice. Steve in the deli department was fast and efficient. He offered samples for everything we were going to buy. I spent another $400 at Albertsons today (via Instacart). I am glad they are here, but the produce leaves a lot to be desired. Fruits and vegetables either rot within a day or two or have zero flavor. (They look great though...). Chronic problem for years. Every now and then you get lucky but for the most part the produce is a real disappointment. read more

Horrible place to shop. This store used to be a wonderful store before the labor union strike but ever since that strike ended ALL the employees appear to Hate their job. They could not care less about customer satisfaction. The prices at the store are higher than other grocery stores and you really need to watch out for the occasional item that will be outrageously priced up to 3X what competitors charge for the identical item. The quality of the meat in the butcher shop is mostly "select" which is good for soup or stew only. Go elsewhere and get choice or prime. The lines to checkout are always long and I've never seen them add a cashier to speed things along. Bottom line is that "They just don't care" save the aggravation and shop at Trader Joe's or Costco. If you want a real grocery store, go to San Luis Obispo and shop at Ralphs. What I wouldn't give for a Ralph's. They should bulldoze all the Albertsons and Vonn's and they should start with the Albertsons on Niblick road. I will celebrate when they go bankrupt and all their employees are living in the riverbed. read more

This review is in relation really to only one thing: local wines. If you are in Paso for wine tasting be sure to survey the wine section here - they carry an entire aisle of just the local wines. This wine section is great place to get a feel for prices and hunt up bargains on wines from the surrounding wineries. I was told by locals that the manager of the wine section is really on her game and looking at the selection I'd have to agree. The rest of the store is a regular supermarket, better than my local Albertsons. Found some great local apples in produce section and some decent deli stuff for picnics on winery trips, but that's about all I have to add. read more

I've lived on the Central Coast for 13 years and moved to Paso a little over five years ago. I am a regular shopper at the Niblick store and I live within about 3 miles. Employees recognize me, as I usually shop there at once a week since the pandemic (more often before). Nearly every time I've gone in since April, one pandemic related "policy" or another has changed. Either it's been the arrows indicating what direction you can enter an aisle (now gone), entering the store from the veggie side and exiting from the pharmacy side (now it's the other entrance on the veggie side). In the early days of the pandemic, I was literally stopped and scolded by one of the regular employees for going down an isle in the wrong direction to get my cottage cheese. I kid not, he raised his voice at me. I have also been turned away when I wasn't aware that I was walking in the "exit side" and told to go to the other end of the store to enter. Still, I always stay calm in the long line, thank the checkers, deli counter workers and folks cleaning the carts for taking care of me. This is a hard time for them and deserved to be shown appreciation for their efforts. Last week shopping at this store, I was pleased to see that everyone I passed in the store had a mask on. I told my husband, neighbors and friends that I felt fairly safe there, considering. Yesterday, as I walked into the Paso Robles (Niblick Road) Albertson's, I noticed a very elegantly dressed elderly man (probably in his 80's or 90's) in front of me enter the store. One of the regular male employees I've seen over the years said to him "how you doin', Hollywood?" It seemed he knew the man. I was shopping later in the afternoon this time (Tuesday, 8/4/2020). I entered the store on the veggie side. While shopping, I noticed another elderly man and a fragile looking elderly woman (both wearing masks) choosing veggies. I can only imagine what they were thinking as they shopped. As I walked the isles choosing my items, I noticed a woman without a mask. Then I saw a young couple walking along without masks. Then, I saw a group of about 10 teenagers in a group, all without masks. I got into the line for check out. I commented to the woman directing me to the individual check out lane that I was shocked and really upset about the number of the people in the store without masks. She said "well, we have a sign on the door requesting for them to wear one, but we can't do anything if they don't." She told me to call the customer service phone number on the bottom of my receipt if I wanted to complain and told me to ask for someone named "Carol" if I wanted to talk to someone now. When I reached the checker, I looked behind her. There were the group of teens at the self check out station, mobbing the area between two check out stands. By then, I was really upset seeing that no one was doing anything to enforce the no mask policy. I asked the young checker how she was doing. She quietly shirked her shoulders and said "okay." I told her I was really upset about how many people were in the store not wearing masks. Seemed very sweet and young. I asked why management wasn't enforcing the no mask policy. She said that the managers told them they could refuse to wait on customers, but that they (the managers) couldn't do anything about it. In other words, they were putting the responsibility of mask enforcement on the employees they are supposedly "managing." She told me, "I have to just figure I'm going to get sick." Clearly, she felt helpless. When I was finished, I thanked her and told her to stay healthy. I then asked a regular employee if I could speak with management. Out came the store "manager" (I use the word loosely) with his mask dipping below his nose. I told him I was livid that there were so many people in the store not wearing masks and no one was enforcing their policy. He said they can't force people to wear masks and they're doing all they can. When I insisted that they *could* (consider giant corporations requiring masks including Costco, Trader Joe's and Whole Foods), he argued and insisted that I'm wrong. It's private property. Ever heard "no shirt, no shoes, no service?" If his employees and customers mattered to him, he would not only enforce it, he would wear his flippin' mask over his nose! As I walked out the *correct* exit door, I passed an employee cleaning carts... with his mask below his chin. I thanked him for cleaning the carts and told him it might be a good idea to use his mask properly since he's supposed to be cleaning carts. SHEESH! If Albertson's management doesn't care about me, or their employees, AT LEAST care about the elderly customers shopping in their store. Consider how it must be to lay in a hospital bed on a ventilator, with none of your loved ones by your side, knowing that you lived 80+ years caring about others but it was too much for an inconsiderate store manager to care about you. read more

A fellow wino told us to stop by here and check out the "Paso aisle". So glad we did! They have all the wines we just tried today! AND at a better price! Some wines may have been just a few dollars less than the winery; but for the most part, $5 or more off adds up to a lot of money. They have the best selections to choose from. Take all the lists that you accumulated during the day or weekend, stop by and compare prices. You'll see... I wish they all had this kind of selection. read more

This Albertson's is out of control! Maybe it's because we no longer have them in the bay area, but I really don't remember them being THIS big! This place is HUGE! They were having some Oreo cookie stacking contest for the kiddies up front which caused a lot of traffic. The only reason for their lack of 5 star rating. It was a nightmare to get in the front door and down those aisles that the booth blocked. Other than that, this place was awesome! Huge local wine section which I could spend days in. Huge produce section with tons of deals and a wide variety of organic items available. Customer service at checkout was friendly and fast. Overall a really great experience and easy to find most anything you're looking for. Just make sure you don't go when they're having an Oreo cookie event. :) read more

Albertsons delivery is awesome! Being retired I never felt that I would ever need such service, but when my husband and I were both hit with the flu this service saved us a trip to the store for medicine and essentials. Michael K, our instacart shopper, kept me notified on an item he had to replace with another and his ETA all under the two hour period that was promised. The fee was only $3.75!! All of which goes to our shopper but you have the ability to add (10%, 15% or custom) which we did cause of the superb customer service Michael provided. We'll definitely be using this service again and will highly recommend to our family and friends. read more

Wine, wine and more Wine. Hit this store for a Starbucks and to stock up on local wines before you head out of town. I spoke with Linda, who apparently is in charge of the wine department - her knowledge of the local wines, winemakers and different wine labels is superb. She has taken this knowledge and stocked this store with some of the best local and regional wines. I've never seen such an expansive selection of local and regional (regional means SLO, Santa Maria, and Santa Ynez) wines. She said she ships free, so I bought about 12 different wines to try and will take her up on the offer should I find something case worthy. Problem is, I've gotten into two bottles so far and both are case worthy! The per bottle price is competitive (cheaper than the tasting rooms) and when you throw in 30% off for 6 or more, the value is unmatched. Nothing beats a good tasting and tasting rooms often have special bottles that are usually only sold there or to wine club members. So, if you are on a budget and enjoy good wine, learn what you like and stock up here. Or talk with Linda, like I did, tell her your budget and what you are looking for and she steer you in the right direction. read more

Found this place using my mobile Yelp app. The app gave me directions to the store via Google Maps. I did not follow the directions precisely because it would have led me in the big circle. Either the physical location or Google Maps needs to be updated to provide a more direct route to the grocery store. The store itself carried everything I needed. I picked up some of the coffee infused protein drinks that they offer. Their selection was rather small, but I found what I was looking for. At check out, to my surprise, I was in uniform, and the lady in front of me insisted on paying for my groceries as a show of appreciation. I tried to decline, but she insisted. It's nice to see that people have appreciation for uniformed personnel. read more

This is an Amazing store, as long as you do not purchase any Frozen Items, and enjoy chatting with the Cashier, while everyone else's Frozen Items... Are Melting. :-( Our Cashier got confused about her job title and thought she was suppose to carry on Mindless Discussions with the customers. Stopped here for dinner while staying at a nearby hotel. We got fried chicken and potato wedges, which are always so good at Albertsons. On fridays they have a sale for fried chicken, $5/pound which is basically half off. The spicy fried chicken definitely has some spice but not overly spicy. The cashier was friendly, but continued to scan items very quickly while talking to us. I wish more cashiers were like that. Only complaint is that the store feels very crowded, especially in high traffic areas such as the butcher or deli. There is too much stuff in the way. read more

Found this store on Google looking for nearby grocery stores in Paso Robles. The store is well maintained but can be confusing trying to find what you are looking for. Luckily they have plenty of staff floating around and you can ask them to help find what you need. Everyone was friendly and the cashier had great customer service. They have a floral section, a hot food section, a good beer and wine section and of course groceries. The prices are similar to save mart but you get that great customer service along with it, so it makes paying just a few cents more worth it. read more

She wants all to know that the meat dept cuts anything to order...they cut a small turkey in half for our 2 person "senior" dinner to make our holiday dinner a success. Albertson's has that 3's a crowd rule and they have for years though it never seems to work. This store is beautiful, it's large, very clean and always well stocked. My only issue is there are NEVER enough checkers....ever. Even during non peak times, there's always massive lines. Most of the checkers work at their own pace without any sense of urgency. This isn't my go-to store for food shopping but I do come for the produce and certain baby items. It seems that this grocery store, with it's Starbucks and wine tasting is for the well off casual food shopper. If you are a no frills food shopper who just wants to get their groceries quickly and go, this isn't the store for you. read more

This store is awful! We came to pick up some groceries at 630 at night and no joke sat in line for a good 30+ minutes waiting to be checked out. The checker spent the whole time commenting on every item she scanned instead of just doing her job. When you have a line 10 people deep and only 3 checkers you need to get it together. We came back to get balloons for our sons birthday since there is no other options- and AGAIN- 30 minutes after being told someone would come help us, my husband was told "oh I forgot to call them". This place is a piss poor managed store. Hey management, do your job and hire competent people. read more

This Albertsons had a fantastic selection of local wines at prices generally on par with the wine clubs (after including all applicable discounts). Other selections were pretty standard fare for an Albertsons, but the stop by the local wine aisle on the way out of town was a real treat. All in all, this one is Pretty Good! read more
