This is my go to Albertsons, do most of my grocery shopping here. Even place customized cake orders for special events here. Never had an issue with the store itself and employees until today. My review is just for the rude smart mouth black or brown curly hair dude that probably hates his job and told me stuff about placing my cart on the side instead of the designated shopping cart area. In my defense standing behind my trunk finished putting away my groceries I turned around and didn't see the designated shopping cart area so I placed it next to my car. Then while Im by my driver door he said " I don't know if you can see but thats not where carts go." I told him I couldn't find the area but when standing on the driver side this time ready to enter my car I turned around and saw it but since I was originally standing behind my trunk when I looked for it, there was a Van parked that was blocking my view from seeing it. Im just saying this guy didn't have to be rude about it. I wonder if he told the same thing to other people today?? If I want to be petty and rude the next time I come here and happen to see him I can easily walk my cart far away from the cart area ;) read more

This has been one of my most frequented Albertsons for the past few years due to its close proximity to my work, and I've never had a major issue with them until today. I was in a hurry before work, so I stopped by to grab a drink and a couple snacks, including a box of Skinny Cow Heavenly Crisp bars. It wasn't until later as I was opening the box that I noticed the very much past due expiration date - February 2016. It is now December 2016, 10 months overdue. I'm very glad I caught the date, but disappointed in my purchase and Albertsons' neglect in their products. Had I or anyone else eaten it, there may have been worse consequences. This store has been working hard to service the community. I am a regular and shop there several times a week. I currently can't get what I need as others who have not shopped here before are hoarding groceries. Woman just yesterday bought $324 in canned goods. What could she possibly need that many canned goods. So the only thing I would say stores need to limit the amount of what can be bought to assist those that are buying as we go. It's very close to being a year since this pandemic closure started and this store still doesn't get it. They DO NOT follow Covid-19 Guidelines. At least 3 times we have gone in this store and complained about employees NOT wearing masks. The managers in each case have told us that they were sorry and they would speak to the store employees. They were very apologetic and seemed concerned. When we went back the second and third time it was like they were reading a script. It would be nice if, as an essential business, they would be as concerned with safety as they are about their bottom line. read more

This is my go to market. It has most everything I need. I like their veggie dept. All the basics, but I've gone a few times and their green beans are at the end of their run, so I had to really pick thru them to find good, crisp ones. Their deli is good. I love their roasted chicken meal, but their potato wedges have been hit & miss. We now ask for a sample to see if they are good to eat (sometimes taste like they've been sitting under the heater too long). Their fried chicken is the BEST!!! Have ordered it for multiple parties! Great price, too. Bakery dept is also nice; lots to choose from. Good beer and wine selection. And the meat dept people are helpful and sometimes there are recipe cards. What I have loved the most lately is when I walk in on the entrance, where the produce is, there's a cooler that has sales on pork chops and chicken, already seasoned. I purchased 1 packet with two chops, pre-seasoned and got 2 more packets for FREE!!!! So good!!!!!!! Great deals! And, there's a sushi place that brings in fresh packaged sushi meals that are super tasty and great for on the go. Of course getting it fresh as soon as you order it is better, but this is a great alternative. Finally, I love the Albertson's brand 12-pack of sodas. My favorite is the Cream soda, Fruit Punch soda and Cherry Cola. And they are often on sale at $2.50 a box. Perfect. Some many flavors to choose from. read more

Wow. Haven't been here in a while and won't go back any time soon. It used to be that the employees would ask if you need help, or at least not be on their phones... literally struggling with a huge water bottle, 4 different employees were standing around, chatting and gossiping, crowded around the register... not one asked if I needed help. I actually had to ask one to step aside so I could reach to get my items, as he was standing where the bagger stands but was too involved in his conversation to either offer help or realize he was blocking me...I believe in teenagers having jobs and learning good work ethic but when they stand around and gossip and mostly ignore customers, they aren't learning anything. This is a good store to shop at if you are in a hurry. They always open another lane when there's more than 3 waiting in line. I won't use the self checkout unless they want to give me an employee discount. After all I'm doing their job. Also it takes jobs from union workers. This location always has their advertised specials on stock unlike other stores. The produce section is always clean, everyone in the meat section is very helpful. She Yells at them for not understanding all the deals when checking out their items. I have been coming to this Albertsons for years and the service has been amazing up until they got their new store director. I don't know his name nor do I care for his name but he was the most rudest and obnoxious manager I've ever met. Treats his employees with no sense of respect and treats the customers as well with no respect. My last straw was when he completely interrupted me while I was ordering at Starbucks and made the cashier go put away stuff that was in a cart and did not care that I was in the middle of ordering. He didn't even apologize and I couldn't; even finish my order .I don't know the reason for this superiority complex this store director has but it is completely unnacceptle. I will no longer be shopping here and I will be contacting to corporate to have this new store director receive training in how to properly interact with customers because he clearly does not have manners. I am giving this specific Albertsons (on 17th st. in SANTA ANA) a 1-star rating after experiencing 2 separate incidents with 2 separate employees. (And please keep in mind that BOTH of these incidents happened in under 1 month!) So, my 1st and most major problem I ran into was on 1/23/2020 at 9:45 am... I went to Albertsons for a super quick visit to purchase my usual order - which was the SAME EXACT order that I purchase 5 out of 7 days out of the week that I would go there.... Bananas, Blackberries, Blueberries, and Mangos.... However, this time was a completely different experience, due to the actions of the MANAGER (his name was KIN) that was working that day. It was by far, THE WORST EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD throughout all of the 15+ years that I've been grocery shopping with Albertsons!! So, after I'm done finding all of my fruits, I proceed to get in a checkout line so that I can PURCHASE MY ITEMS.... (AS I ALWAYS DO AT ALBERTSONS AND EVERY OTHER STORE I SHOP AT!!) The 1 SINGLE LINE THAT WAS OPEN was jam-packed all the way into the food aisles.... There were tons of people at a standstill, and not moving anywhere fast!! So, I see that 2 out of 4 of the self-checkout registers have the light on and are open, so I proceed to the 1st one. I scan ALL OF MY ITEMS, and then when it comes time to get ready to pay at the end of it, it always asks you how many bags you used, so they can charge you for them. I did initially WANT a bag for my stuff, so I looked for the employee that was SUPPOSED to be at the little desk assisting customers at the self-checkout. HOWEVER, I quickly noticed that there was nobody there, and there was nobody anywhere close to there that was able to help me. (Also, the lady that was at the other self-checkout beside me needed assistance with her register, as well.. and nobody ever came to help her, so she had to just wait all the way until I was done with my stuff.. then she finally had to switch her stuff to the register I was at..) So I ended up just changing my option to "0" for the number of bags. I pressed the option that I was done scanning my groceries and was ready to pay for everything.. My total came up on screen and I paid my total bill with my card.... and then thank goodness, I waited until my receipt printed off and grabbed it.. (because I honestly think that if I hadn't waited on my receipt like I originally almost wasn't going to-- then I'm pretty sure this would be a whole different ending to this story.... all because of their wrongdoings!!) After paying and grabbing my receipt, I walked out to my car with all of my fruit rolling around loose in the little carry basket, because I didn't have my bag with me and wasn't able to get one of their plastic bags.. I got to my car, and then put all of my fruit on my seat. After I'm done, I turn around to get ready to walk back to put my carry basket back into the store.... HOWEVER, as soon as I turn around (BEFORE I WAS EVEN ABLE TO SHUT MY CAR DOOR) I quickly hear a man yelling loudly "MA'AM!! MA'AM!! MA'AM!!!" And I see him RUNNING to me at my car with his hand extended all the way out as if trying to get my attention.. and he says: "MA'AM! MA'AM! MA'AM!! STOP PLEASE! I NEED YOU TO SHOW ME YOUR RECEIPT RIGHT NOW!!" Omgosh!! I could NOT even believe my ears!! He is telling me that I WALKED OUT OF THE STORE WITHOUT PAYING FOR ANYTHING IN MY BASKET!! This "MANAGER" at the ONLY grocery store that I shop at literally 5 days out of the week (sometimes twice a day!!) is SERIOUSLY ACCUSING ME OF STEALING MY WHOLE ENTIRE BASKET OF FRUITS, AND JUST WALKING OUT OF THERE LIKE IT'S THE THING TO DO!! So, in the meantime, while he's accusing me of thieving all of my stuff, there are people that happen to be walking by us slowly in the parking lot - listening to what this man is accusing me of.. and watching me find my receipt inside my purse!! Every time that I think about it, it thoroughly disgusts me and makes me sick to my stomach! I was the most embarrassed that I have EVER been in front of people like that!! and when I locate my receipt and give it to him, I didn't even receive an apology for his wrongdoings or anything!! I did NOT expect this coming from a MANAGER! It has made me feel really ugly towards their whole store because of the actions of this 1 manager!! I am the most upset about this whole ordeal, because like I said, Albertsons was my #1 go-to store for literally EVERYTHING!! and now I am just very embarrassed that they seriously felt so strongly & so sure that I stole my food, to seriously run all the way to my vehicle and then wrongfully accuse me of being a thief!! My feelings are hurt, and I'm also very upset and mad that I have to go to multiple different grocery stores to try and find all of my groceries. Because I HATE to give them 1$ after they accused me of stealing my food! My whole entire family refuses to go here now- and it was all of our #1 go-to for a lot of years!! I ran in to Albertson's real quick to pick up some flowers for my daughter's recital, but I didn't know which ones to pick. So I called my wife who asked me to take a few pictures so she could pick which ones she liked. Two or three pictures in I hear someone calling "Sir! Sir!" Eventually I realized the employee was talking to me. I turned around to find out what in the world was going on and he says "You can't take pictures of the flowers." Are you serious?! I explain I'm using them so my wife can pick out which ones she wants to buy and he says I need to take a picture of the entire display then, not individual bouquets... Unprepared to hear a response that stupid all I could think to say was, "How about I just buy my flowers someplace else then." And that's exactly what I did. I went down the street to Trader Joe's, bought better looking flowers for less money, from friendlier employees who don't care if you take pictures of the flowers you're trying to buy... The store is clean and literally right across the street but that's all the good I have to say about it. Tips if you absolutely, last resort need to go here: 1) Double check the price of any foods the deli packages for you. I bought two different items, one that was 5.99/lb and the other 3.99/lb. They charged me 5.99/lb for both items. To me this is pretty shady or lazy or both. 2) Double check your receipt! I paid with my debit card and entered $20 cash back. The checkout girl was quick to give me my receipt and close the register. I noticed right away and told her she owes me $20, she double checks my receipt and goes "oh" and I had to stand there and wait for her to checkout the person behind me in order for her to open the register again to give me my $20. Not sure again if shady or lazy. I shouldn't need to double check these things if I'm shopping at an honest business. read more

This store allows people in who aren't wearing masks or any other PPE and does not enforce social distancing measures. Entire families wandering around with no masks or gloves, kids coughing, hands on everything, and the management does nothing. While I was waiting in the queue to check out people were not paying attention to the markers on the floor and employees were not monitoring what was going on. Then at the checkout itself some moron just waltzes up behind me and starts dumping his groceries on the conveyor without waiting where he was supposed to, oblivious to everyone else in the universe, literally three feet away from me, and NOT wearing a mask or gloves. What this company needs is a few good law suits to wake them up and take this pandemic seriously. They are allowing an unsafe environment and putting conscientious shoppers at risk and it needs to STOP. read more

Terrible service at the deli section. I usually don't like shopping at this location but it was convenient for me today since I was in the neighborhood on my way to work. I asked to sample a meat just like I do at the Tustin location, the woman looked at me head to toe and said she cannot do that, after she had just sampled something for a Caucasian woman. Spoke to the manager and he said he will talk to her, hopefully he does, customer service needs to to improve at this store. I did not purchase it after all, drove to a different location and had excellent arrived by the deli woman and the cashier who wished me a great day and rest of my week. What can you say about a grocery store? Well, I'm a huge fan of the FRESH NEW BATCH of fried chicken. If you get the older earlier in the day chicken....yeah....not so good. I've taken fried chicken home 15min away, but its just not the same. So, I have to walk down the street to buy it, and eat it within minutes of purchase. The service/ladies in the deli section are sweet and helpful, everywhere else....not so cavity forming. Is it just me though....or does walking closer to the meat section smell kind of funky? Worst customer service ever. Went in on new years eve to pick up an order. Edgardo over at deli has super bad customer service and shouldn't work at albertsons. I picked up my food and asked politely for a box since i ordered 50pcs of chicken. He said why and i said cause the chicken will get cold in the bad itself. He said no it wont and started arguing about it. Then i told him you do know that the customer is always right. He said no that is a myth. You guys are never right we are. I went ahead and asked for his name 3 times completely ignored me. I had to get his name from another employee . I asked for a manager and juan came over but he didn't know how to handle the situation. I asked to speak to somebody in management but was told some took the day off and nobody was there. How is it possible that no one from management is working. Edgardo needs to be retrained or fired. With that mentality i wonder how many customers have experience the same thing as i did but didn't speak up. I have also been trying to get a hold of the general manager of the store but have not had any luck. Overall the store needs retraining on all departments. Seriously, unless you are a determined masochist, WHY would you shop at this awful place, which NEVER improves? 1) Items always out of stock. 2) Endless waits at the seafood or deli counter in the hope that MAYBE someone shows up to help you. 3) Self check-out machines that are BEYOND AWFUL. My machine jammed THREE times while trying to scan items, and after a wait the employee who came over to help virtually ignored me without saying a word, (not even a "sorry" for the hassle) while putting it back online, EVERY TIME. I counted SIX store employees standing within 25 feet of me jabbering away, one stocking the gum counter, all pretty indifferent to the CLEARLY UNHAPPY CUSTOMER WHO PAYS THEIR SALARY BY SHOPPING THERE. When I counted them outloud and made an audible comment about seeing them all standing around, one of them offhandedly snarked out loud as she walked out the door, "I don't even work in that area." Great employee training, right...? Wonder why Albertson's is this bad? Here's what a Google search for the company owner turns up: Cerberus Capital Management, L.P. is an American private equity firm, specializing in distressed investing. DISTRESSED INVESTING! "Distressed" says everything about why this mess is run as badly as it is. And this guy gets a letter from me tomorrow to invite him to read my (and other) Yelp reviews: Albertsons/CEO Vivek S. I think this is a nice store. Nice lay out and it always seems to be tidy! Everyone that I have encountered on the floor is always helpful and they take the time to walk you to the item you are looking for. Where this store, like most stores, loses a couple stars is the line situation. I worked in the grocery store business in almost every department from bagger to center store manager. I understand it's tough to have what you need when you need it on the budget you have for payroll . But why does it always seem like the slowest cashiers are always placed in the express lanes? Boggles the mind. Be nice to bring back three's a crowd and get the customers out in a timely manner. I have seen the grocery manager Multiple times and I gotta day she goes above and beyond. There are some really great team members here at this location. Chris and Taylor being a couple of them our family really enjoys interacting with. We have however experienced a very disrespectful and unprofessional young man named Jordan who was wearing a Manager name tag that we do not enjoy interacting with due to his poor demeanor. He's not the kindest most professional individual to deal with for sure. He will not make eye contact when you speak or when he speaks to you and he won't even stand up or take the time to stop leaning over the counter to address the customers that approach or attempt to speak to him. Very disappointing attitude to have mixed in with all the other amazing staff members we have encountered at this location. Such a poor attitude in his responses to questions that are directed to him. I hope to never have to encounter him again at any of the locations or that if we did he would have a more professional and polite attitude to greet his customers with in the future. read more

The employees are extremely rude here. Every single time we choose to checkout with a cashier (instead of self checkout [although i have been treated poorly by the person assisting self checkout too]) the cashiers/baggers only talk to each other. I'm lucky if I get a "hi" out of them. Tonight we went and the male cashier yelled out to another employee walking by, about her break. He angled his body to her and was having a full blown conversation with her about their break and the bagger was just listening and joining in too. We payed half card and half cash so we're waiting, standing there staring at the cashier asking how much is our total after the card payment and he was so busy in his conversation he didn't hear us ask and didn't turn to us to see why we weren't moving. My mom asked again "how much do we owe?!" No response from the cashier. I then have to raise my voice "sorry to interrupt but can we pay so we can leave?!?!" And he turns and says "yeah just swipe your card!" Not even realizing we did already swipe and was trying to hand him cash. This is NOT the first time I've stood at a cashier stand and listened to employees personal conversations and just been brushed off like I was annoying them. I finally decided to review because it's an every visit occurrence. Additionally, I visited yesterday and the restroom was filthy. It smelled so bad I could smell it through my mask while walking in. I noticed other Yelp reviews about this restroom so I'm guessing managers don't make an effort to ensure changes are made off of reviews? This location would definitely get five stars if they had a more pleasant cashier in the mornings. Unfortunately, there's usually only one cashier open during the week before 7am and it's always Rudy. I'm ok with cashiers that do not make small talk or aren't overly friendly, but this guy is just rude. I try my best to avoid going to him by using the self-checkout lines in the mornings, but sometimes those are closed. Today was one of those days. He ignored me as I stood there waiting to be helped for several minutes. When I finally asked another employee if they could assist me, they walked over to Rudy to ask him to assist me (and now the line of people behind me). He was visibly annoyed. He even made a comment to another employee as I was standing in front of him about not wanting people to be "bitching" today. So unprofessional.
