That did not excuse the work or the misdiagnosis, which is why this is not a solid 5 star review. He offered to refund the detailed inspection charge to satisfy me and I agreed. He told me that he would send me a check I asked if he had the address he said yes. I really thought I could give him a positive follow-up for making things right and here we are a month later and I have received the check. He also refunded the charge for what they did fix as part of a good faith gesture which I appreciate very much. The reasons for changing the review to 4 stars are clearly about the integrity of Aaron the owner of Anchor Plumbing. First, not to go into personal details, he shared the reasons he was not available to his team during the repair visit. If he had been available I am positive we would have achieved a much better result. Emergencies are just that. It doesn't excuse the issue. What it does is more important. A small business owner who even looks at the Yelp reviews I have been publishing these many years is reassuring. Especially when we are looking for tradesmen who come into our homes. That said, I do want to express my dissatisfaction with aspects of the project execution. My understanding per the contract and my discussion with Baker Bros, was that the project would take 2 days and included restoration of the yard, with existing grass being replaced where possible and sod being installed in areas where the original grass could not be salvaged. Instead the project extended from last Thursday through Friday of the next week, which was substantially longer than anticipated. Although the plumbing was complete, the backfill, and yard restoration was not. Ultimately, I'm disappointed with the condition in which the yard was left. While I understand excavation work will inevitably impact the appearance of the lawn, I expected the restoration work to be performed with greater care and attention to detail. Some of the sod had been laid over each other or over existing grass rather than being properly cut and fitted into areas where replacement was actually needed. My expectation was never that the yard would look exactly as it did before the repair. However, I did expect the restoration efforts to reflect the same level of professionalism as the sewer line replacement itself. For example, on the first day of yard restoration after I had chatted with a Baker Bros Service Plumber about the yard, who I am assuming to be the general foreman of the 3rd party restoration crew, showed up to my home and I walked out to a group of around 8 men, and he stated, "my boss said you have a problem". But I would've expected Baker Bros to come out to check on the status of 3rd party contracted work. I've used baker bros since we bought our home over 3 years ago and have always had positive experiences; however, this piece was not a great one.

Sadly, the owner of Nick's passed away and this company is now owned by Dunrite. I called that company based on the reviews of Nick's Air Services, but their services has definitely NOT been the same as mentioned on this profile. In summary, this company is expensive, can make improper recommendations, and the office is very difficult to get anyone to call you back. I absolutely would not use them again in the future and - had I read their Yelp profile for Dunrite Heating & Cooling - would never have called them in the first place. My experience: My air conditioning due to leaked refrigerant due to another HVAC technician not correct. Nick's/Dunrite came out during the same day and quickly identified the problem. There was a leak on the schrader valve. They got us back to running - for nearly $200/per pound of refrigerant. 5 lbs = about $1,000. Wow, but we had no choice as my original installer was not available. Our unit has not been keeping up with the 90s for the past two months and the technician recommended 3 different options. I chose 2 of the 3 options: a larger return air duct AND repairing the plenum. I was anxious to get the work scheduled and it took me hounding them to get them to schedule the work. Communicating with this office was very painful. I would never get calls back and would just get a text message indicating when they had scheduled the appointment. Their front desk support was exceedingly helpful but not empowered to do anything besides schedule appointments and pass along info. I finally had the appointment and the technician went to the wrong address. I got a call from them saying they had been at my house and then they proceeded to the next job. I spoke to them and learned they were at the wrong house, but could not turn around to go back to my house. I had to wait until the following week to get the appointment rescheduled. What a disaster. It got worse. The work was finally done - the return air duct and the plenum. I waited a couple of days, but there was NO change in the air conditioning. I called them back again and they scheduled another technician to come out. The second technician came out, a more senior technician, who confirmed that the unit was undersized and "working as it was designed" to cool at 75-76. I don't know a single person who is comfortable with 75-76 in the house when the outside is in the 90s. I called customer service again. When I finally got someone, I got a call from William, who is their most senior technician (an older guys in his late-50s probably). He came out with the original technical and instructed him how to properly do a heat load calculation. They determined indeed the unit is undersized and I needed a 3 ton. I called back the customer service asking for a refund to the work. I've called at least 3-4 times, each time speaking with a very nice person. However, I've still not been called back. What a disaster. I've finally had to resort to filing a complaint with my credit card and disputing it through them. It's unfortunate and I didn't want to have to do this, but - when no one will call you back - it's very very hard to trust this company to make things right.

Mai Plumbing's employee stole my fine jewelry while working for Mai at my home. Mai admits this. Mai will not pay for the cost of replacement. MAI IS NOT BONDED. Mai failed to drug test and hired or retained a drug addict as a plumber's assistant. Then the plumber left him alone in my bedroom. The drug addict stole my fine jewelry. This was unknown to me for a few weeks. When it was discovered, Mai was contacted and it was learned the assistant the day after working at my home robbed two other customers. He was caught red handed. Mai never contacted me at that time to let me know to check my belongings (even to be sure the guy had not stole our spare house keys). As a result, to date despite working with Dallas PD, I have been advised there is virtually no hope for recovery of my items. The value was $20,000.00 roughly. On November 29, 2018 Mai informed me that it would not reimburse me for my loss, it had prayed about it and the Lord would not find them at fault (yes for real). I was told had to file a lawsuit if I wanted to recover because of its employee's theft. Mai admits its employee stole but refuses to replace the items taken. We paid Mai to rob us. read more

We called on a Thursday afternoon and left a message and received an immediate call back. They said someone could come out the following day. Speake's was excellent about communicating and we opted in to receive text messages. They let us know that someone would come by between 10-2 on Friday. And they did! Enter Mike on Friday afternoon around 1:30! We showed him our bathroom and he could smell the sewer gas too! We had kept the door closed to keep fumes down to the rest of the house. Also opened a window. After he removed the toilet and scraped off the wax he found the real problem. He came to show us what he discovered. There was a gap between where the flange and the drain pipe meet. Mike fixed the pipe and replaced the flange with a new beautiful brass one. This is the only pic I took. We love our Toto toilets and asked Mike to replace the insides with a new flush valve kit since the current one looked really old. He replaced the toilet and cleaned everything up. We paid and he sent our receipt via email. The price seemed in-line and we were very happy with Mike and the service he provided. We will definitely call Speake's Plumbing again if a plumbing issue arises.

Guy shows up late again says parts have to be ordered and he will next day mail them. Parts don't show up. I call after a week asking where the parts are. Lady on the phone lied and said parts were ordered and was very rude everytime I called. She kept saying someone will call me back. None ever called me back. Then she lies again and said my voice mail was full. Never had a missed call and my voice mail is not full. She said it can take up to 12 business days. I called on day 13 she again lies and says a manager will call me back. I got AHS involved and finally they said the parts will be picked up. Ummm why didn't they do that to begin with?!?!
