The place is authentic, full of life and warmth, and the perfect spot to grab yourself some of that homemade apple butter! The service both at the orchard stable and the restaurant were great! The people are friendly, patient, and take the time to answer any questions you have about the menu or about the produce they sell. Our server at the restaurant was your typical friendly, Southern auntie that everybody loves. She was very patient with us, cracked jokes, and made us feel like part of the family! You can tell just by looking at the place that the food was going to be authentic and feel like a homecooked meal. When the food arrived, we were glad our assumptions about the food weren't wrong. The apple fritters were cooked to perfection and the apple butter...my God it was amazing. It paired perfectly with the fritters and melted in your mouth, it was so so good! SO good, in fact, that we bought jars of it out back where the barn was! Outside right next to the restaurant is this barn-like building where they sell a bunch of local produce from jams, fresh fruit, and most importantly...their homemade apple butter! They had different flavors of their "apple butter" too, making it hard press for somebody to leave the place empty handed! I highly recommend visiting Carver's Orchard and Applehouse Restaurant not only for the authentic, homestyle food that will leave you thinking of grandma, but also for the local produce found at their barn next door! With so many local ingredients, produce, and food found here, I'm positive that there will be something for everyone!

Some attractions sell an experience…read more Some sell a product. The Apple Barn Cider Mill somehow manages to do both. What started as a simple stop turned into one of the more enjoyable experiences of our trip. The star of the visit was our guide, who took us on a cider journey through the various flavors and offerings. She was friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely seemed to enjoy what she was doing. She answered questions, explained the differences between the ciders, and made the tasting experience fun instead of feeling like a sales pitch. And since there's a chance she might somehow see this review: Happy 40th Birthday! Sorry I forgot your name, but your hospitality certainly wasn't forgettable. Now let's talk about the cider. Excellent. There was a large variety of flavors available to sample, making it easy to compare styles and find a favorite. Whether you're new to cider or consider yourself a seasoned enthusiast, there's enough variety here to keep things interesting. After sampling our way through the lineup, we wound up purchasing a glass of the original apple cider and enjoyed it outside. And honestly, that's where the experience really came together. Sitting outside with a fresh cider in hand, playing cornhole and Jenga, enjoying the atmosphere, and slowing down for a little while made for a genuinely relaxing afternoon. No rushing. No crowds pushing you along. Just good cider and good company. We also picked up a growler to bring back to the hotel because one thing became very clear during the tasting process: leaving empty-handed would have been a mistake. The Apple Barn Cider Mill does a great job creating an experience that's welcoming, fun, and memorable without feeling overly commercialized. Great cider. Great staff. Great atmosphere. Five stars. And judging by the growler currently waiting back at the hotel, I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

My husband and I visited this location twice while in the Pigeon Forge area: once just to check it…read moreout and the second time to purchase some saltwater taffy for my in-laws. The temperatures were in the high 90's and we were driving. We didn't want to purchase them too early and have them melt in the car during our trip back home. The store is bright, colorful and very inviting. I love the layout and how you can see into the candy kitchen and watch them making taffy onsite. On both visits, we were greeted warmly and offered assistance with anything that we had questions on. I'd seen a video online that showed them offering a moonshine-flavored taffy, but I was unable to find it once in-store. My husband called his mom and walked through every flavored offered, while compiling a bag for purchase. I explored the rest of the store. There was a huge machine full of flavored powder candy (similar to Pixie Stix) and very large tubes that you could fill to your liking. They also offered a wide range of fudge flavors and lots of nostalgic/classic candies. I was drawn to the English toffee (very thick and rich) and I knew that my husband would like the chocolate-dipped twinkies, so we got ourselves those treats as well. They were running a special where if you bought a pound of taffy, you got another pound for free, but we didn't want or need that much taffy. The purchase wasn't as expensive as I expected, because of course everything is billed by weight, and we didn't purchase a lot of candy. I'd return again just for the English toffee. It was like a Heath bar on steroids!
