I'm not as familiar with arabian versions of middle eastern food, so I can't fully judge on this, but I do feel there are better versions of shawarma in the downtown Burbank area. My first experience with Syrian food and it was an absolute delight. The chicken and beef Sharma were mouth watering with different seasoning on each. The garlic dip is wonderful on the fries and the rice pilaf was delightful. Having worked as a restaurant manager, I was happy to see a spotless kitchen. The service was a perfect combination of informative and friendly without being overbearing. Clearly the best new restaurant in town with food quality and portions that far exceed the price. I will be a regular and look forward to tasting the rest of the menu. read more

Just tried Aleppo for the first time today and was hoping for delicious middle eastern food after reading some of the fabulous reviews. It was very disappointing. The food was awful. We ordered shish tawook and shish kebab. I am middle Eastern Armenian. This food had no real flavor except for pepper. The chicken was a joke. It was cut up into the tiny little pieces which the totality equaled 1/4 chicken breast not even half. Hummous had no flavor and salad was drowning in oil. What a waste of money. I will never go again. You want good tasting middle eastern food, go to Carnival. So sorry I decided to go to a place closer to home. The drive is well worth it to Sherman oaks. read more

We ordered from Aleppo through Eat24 for delivery. Wait time was 35 minutes. 30 minutes after order was confirmed- we got a text and phone call from eat24 that the restaurant was short on drivers. They didn't notice this for 30 minutes? Never ordering from this place again. read more

This is my favorite Syrian spot. Everything is amazing from the kind staff, accommodating hours (they stay open late which is appreciated on nights I get stuck in heavy traffic) The food is freshly made to order with high quality ingredients. This place is soooo good! I came here with my mom a couple of weeks ago and Shantal is an excellent chef! Her food is to die for! I've never liked falafel until now! I had no idea how incredibly delicious it is when it is made right. Everything was so good that we even ordered our food to go the following week. They even deliver if you spend more than $25 on food, though I am not sure how far they will drive. Definitely worth trying! read more

My husband and I had the chicken and ground beef (kafta) plate and wow it was amazing. The rice, salad, and hummus it came with was so perfect. Their garlic sauce is better than Zankou's garlic! It was so smooth and creamy, unbelievably good. We also tried their Knafe for desert. Please do yourself a favor and try it, you will not regret it. This place is located in a small shopping center in Burbank. Since I frequent this area, I was excited to see a new local business open up in my neighborhood. Man, was I impressed with the food! The dining experience is super casual but the food is bomb diggity home style cooking. I love that it's a family business and the folks behind the counter are very friendly. The fattoush was delicious as was the beef shawarma plate. You can also never go wrong with hummus topped with meat! A must if it's your first time. I've already been here a few times and I am pleased each time. I also can't wait to try their Sunday mamounia (I know I jacked the spelling), a middle eastern version of cream of wheat that I looooooved growing up! The chef tells me their in high demand and I'll have to preorder. Must be worth it! I'll check it out soon. read more

I'm a student at Woodbury and I was craving middle eastern food so I stopped by during lunch before grabbing my Starbucks. The lady who helped me was very polite, she took my order and then began making my meal. I waited about 5-10 minutes longer in comparison to other places but it was SO worth the wait because my food was so fresh and delicious! I ordered tabule salad and hummus and we had rice. Whenever I get tabule salad I always worry that it'll be pre-made and soggy but it was so crisp and fresh! She also provided warm bread and a pickled appetizer without me asking. I appreciated her hospitality and genuinely enjoyed my lunch. Can't wait to return and try other menu options! read more

If I could I would give Allepo Kitchen six stars! my chicken Schwarma was moist and delicious ! The hummus was to die for! The service was excellent and warm. The restaurant is clean. The rice was light and fluffy and the chicken kebabs were perfectly cooked this restaurant is better than Zankou chicken! I'm definitely coming back! Me and my boyfriend eat here pretty often. Hands down the best middle eastern food in Burbank! So far everything that we have tried has been good. We always order take out and the food is ready on time. Just double check your order before leaving because they've forgotten some of our order before. Awesome!! We used to drive 30 minutes to go to Hayyat Kitchen in North Hollywood for the best hummus EVER!! Aleppo Kitchen just opened up 2 minutes from our home so we went there today to check it out. To my joyous surprise, I found out that the two places are related and that they use the same recipes. Brought home an order of hummus and we devoured it in less than a minute. Beyond delicious-- and I am pretty much a hummus snob. I can't wait to go back there again and order more stuff. Delicious! Thank you Yelp. I might have missed this one, tucked in the back of a tiny shopping center on Glenoaks. I agree with others that fresh is an understatement. I had the chicken skewers, which were unbelievably tender. Somebody knows what they're doing.And the whipped garlic. Can I just have a bowl of that with some bread? But then there are pickles and hummus too. The portions are generous and the prices are noteworthy. If I had one criticism it would be that the bread was a bit stale, but the food was so good I didn't care. Really good. My only question --how long does one have to wait before going back, to not appear completely gluttonous? Hopefully, not too long. read more

I am really disappointed! This used to be such a great place to eat. We even had them cater our daughter's birthday party. But since the owners changed the food has gone seriously down hill. I used to order here at least 2x per week but I think we just had our last order. They forget to put in the pita and the sauces, the flavor is bland and the ingredients listed on the menu are no longer in the dishes. For instance, we ordered the vegetarian combo and it no longer contains the dolmas. This is the fourth time we have ordered since the owners changed and each time its the same thing so I am sure it is not a fluke. I'm just sad. read more

Disappointed in this place after my experience here. The other 4 star reviews raised my expectations. The problem was with the food (which may or may not be an isolated incident, as it possible when dealing with food issues) The place itself it clean, easily accessible with good parking, has friendly staff. The food, specifically, the salmon I ordered was really bad. #1: it wasn't fresh. #2 It was totally pink and undercooked inside. Since I ordered it togo, I didn't realize it until I got home. Tried microwaving it but ended up having to toss it. Edited on 4/15/15: I received an email from an anonymous internet troll disputing the authenticity of my review "because this restaurant does not serve salmon". My response to Mr. Genius: (1) Get a life. You in fact seem like the kind of person who posts made-up reviews if you so easily (and falsely) think other people post false reviews (2) they do in fact serve salmon. Very pleased with Aleppo Kitchen. This mom-and-pop eatery had AMAZING food and great service. We ordered #36, the mixed plate, and a small side of baba ghanouj, and this was the perfect amount for two people. All of the meats were amazingly tasty and juicy. Usually, I'm not a huge fan of ordering chicken, but the chicken here was perfect - not dry at all and packed with flavor. This is definitely my new favorite Lebanese restaurant! read more

Yes, yes, yes. After a long drive from L.A I was starving. I saw the Starbucks and turned into the parking lot. After I found a parking spot in front of Aleppo my early dinner decision was easy. The woman that took my order was smiling and patient as I decided on my meal. I ordered the chicken swarma and a cheese roll. I wanted more, but I didn't want my eyes to get bigger than my stomach. After ordering, I sat down for less than five minutes and my food was ready. The amount was perfect. I ate until I was full. The food is so good here, I was doing a happy dance as I ate. Go here!
