Was my first time trying this place. I was studying at the nearby starbucks and wanted something hot and fresh. Got the chicken salad today. The chicken was very tender and juicy which is great, hate dry rough chicken. They also cut the pieces in half for u. That's a nice little added surprise so u dont have to struggle enough plastic knives to do it yourself. The salad dressing that it comes with also has a nice little spicy kick to it which was great. One of my favorite Arabic restaurants in Burbank. Especially being Syrian from Aleppo this place really hits it home. Everything tastes authentic from there salad to kebob plates. The salad was my personal favorite because when you go to tiger middle eastern restaurant there really isn't effort in there salads but over here it tasted just like back home! No, no, no, no. 4.5 stars is just not right. Ok, so I read the reviews here on Yelp. I am not sure what happened, but this can't be the same place! It's not bad. It's good, in fact. But 4.5 stars? Let's keep it real. Alepo is a strip center take out place with a few tables for very casual eat -in. It has a private, though packed, parking lot, and it is clean. I've read the reviews about how great the place is, and I've read that the cook, chef, whatever, left. That could explain the difference. I don't know, but what I found was decent middle eastern food. Nothing more nor less. Out of kibbeh tonite (not sure why) I start with fried cheese. These are like oversized taquitos that are heavy, fried and just meh. There was nothing delicate or epicurean about these torpedoes of crunchy cheesiness. My chicken shawarma entree was not piping hot, and the seasoning was good, just not "best I've ever had" as seen elsewhere here on Yelp. The rice was very good, as was the salad of romaine cucumber and tomato. The hummus was excellent. Drinks are in the refrigerator next to the counter. Snapple. Arizona. Waters. If not busy the cook will come out and bring you your meal for pseudo-table service. The good news is that Aleppo is not expensive - about $10 for entrees, and a little less for sandwiches. We drive an hour to get here at least once a month. It is definitely my sister's favorite place. We love middle eastern food and now any other place we eat gets compared to Aleppo: "It's ok, but Aleppo is better." The shawerma is flavorful and moist. The grape leaves are tender. Wait, there's more. The hummus is the best. It is made from scratch (I don't mean canned beans either) and you can definitely taste it. Everything is just so good. And believe it or not, even the French fries are the best-always cooked perfectly crispy. We are stuck in Rose Bowl traffic on our way now, but it is so worth it. My mouth is watering thinking about it. Oh, and the Foul Mudammas. I had never heard of this before this place, but definitely different and delicious. Oh and if you have vegetarian diners with you, you will both leave full and satisified. Happy taste buds, I'm on my way! read more

Wanted to try out this place and after purchasing their Groupon voucher, I drove nearly 15 miles to this restaurant only to be told that the owner is no longer accepting Groupons. Why? the two ladies at the cash register had no idea. Absolute scumb*gs!! Based on my previous travels to middle east, I didn't have a good opinion of these bait-and-switch price-haggling cheaters merchants to begin with and this experience just might have been the final nail. I have made sure to tell everyone in my network to never give them any business. I hope they shut down for good sometime soon. read more

Writing this review as a Syrian-American, I am extremely picky and (almost overly) critical of many middle eastern restaurants. This place is absolutely authentic and EVERYTHING was made fresh (tabouleh, fattoush). A lot of places make these things in advance or coat them with tons of lemon juice to cover the taste (or lack thereof). Everything we ate was full of flavor. #36 was enough for two people as an FYI. Their food is tasty and mostly grilled, served with generous sides of salad, homos and fries/rice.. their prices are very good as well and the staff are friendly. This is my FAVORITE place to get Mediterranean food. Silva and her staff are so welcoming. I always place my orders over the phone and they have it ready within 15 min. I always get the veggie plate and its soo good! Everything they make is really good, but my absolute favorite is the baba ghanoush (and trust me I've tried many of them this one is the best). Its so creamy and there is so much flavor to it. Also, Ive tired the fattoush salad and the rice. OMG the rice is SO good!! Its SO fluffy! I've gotten other dishes from here as well such as the plate with chicken, the plate with beef, and a wrap and they were all very good, and the meat was very moist. One thing I am waiting to try is some good Eech salad!! I've mentioned it to Silva and she said they will add it to the menu soon :) I am impatiently waiting to try her eech salad! read more

A wonderful find tucked just out of sight of busy Glenoaks Blvd. I've had a number of things on the menu and enjoyed them all, though I keep going back to the chicken shawarma plate. I'm not as familiar with arabian versions of middle eastern food, so I can't fully judge on this, but I do feel there are better versions of shawarma in the downtown Burbank area. The falafel is ok, but nothing spectacular. I've never had the kabobs or came here during t he lunch hour, so maybe that is a better option/time to try this place. Hummus is decent. read more
