They were ok for selling us a tire and getting to changing it within a reasonable time. Thought it was a little overpriced at 298 for one tire. The downside was that they left a mess in the back of our car and left the hub cap with lots of marks. Had to ask for a tire valve cap read more

I took the car to San Diego the next day and sold it for 18k. Be careful of these small down dealers. This review deals exclusively with the Alexander Toyota Service department. I needed a key made for my 2007 Avalon. It has to be programmed by a Toyota Dealer and so....they have you right where they want you. And they know it. I went in on Friday afternoon and asked about getting a key made. The parts guy, probably the most honest person I dealt with, quoted me $42 for the key. Then he called someone, probably a service advisor, and that person said they would charge $50 to program the key. Total, $92 plus tax. It was late in the day, so I told them I would come back in the morning. That is what I did. When I arrived on Saturday morning I was referred to George A. England. Mr England told me it would take an hour to program the key, for a cost of $105 plus the key for $43, for a total of $148 plus tax. I said "Yesterday I was quoted 1/2 an hour to program the key. You and I both know it is only going to take 12 minutes. In any event, I was quoted $50 for programming and that is what I agreed to pay." Mr. England agreed to honor the previous days quote. Trying to charge me an hour to program a key: You lose two stars. It is Saturday, and they "run a skeleton crew" so I would have to leave the car. I was staying about 1/3 of a mile away. Mr. Anderson said they could drive me home, but could I get a ride back later on? No, I said, our other car is in the shop so this is our only vehicle. When it is time to pick up the car it will be 100 degrees outside. So, I would rather walk home now and get picked up later when it's HOT. Mr. Anderson agreed to do that. NOTE TO DEALER MANAGEMENT: Try running a full crew on Saturday and a skeleton crew on Monday. Your customers who work will find it more convenient. 3 hours later when the car was done Mr. Anderson called and said they were "Really slammed and they were running a skeleton crew" so could I come back to the dealership myself? I reminded him that I had chosen to walk home with the agreement that they would pick me up when it was 100 degrees, so I would wait for them to pick me up. They called back 10 minutes later and sent the ride. Trying to reneg on the agreement to pick me up: You lose two stars. When I got to the dealership I signed the paperwork and paid them $99. I was left with the distinct impression that Mr. England and the brunette cashier felt scared that I would figure out that they had screwed me. They seemed nervous like thieves caught in the act. I suppose I should blame Toyota. They have created these transponder keys and you can't get a duplicate without going to a dealer. Then they train the dealer to squeeze every nickel out of you that they can. When I picked up my car it was freshly washed. The key they made worked. Washed my car: You get back one star. Summary: The Toyota Dealership charged $45 for a key then charged me $52.50 to program it. I took my Mother-in-laws car to Garage Works at 1425 S. 3rd Ave to fix the AC. He is going to replace the whole AC control unit (all the switches in the dash) and is going to charge me $45 for labor. If you are looking to have your toyota serviced and it is out of warranty, go to Garage Works. I feel I can trust Bill at Garage Works. I wouldn't trust George England with anything. I only used the Toyota Dealership because I had to. read more

Driving from Scottsdale back home to San Diego with my two & three year old kids, I hit a curb blowing out one tire & taking a chunk of sidewall out of the other. It was not my finest moment. After AAA put on the spare, we went to this Toyota's service center. The Sienna I was driving was only four days old with every possible warranty on it so I figured they'd take great care of us. I was wrong. After keeping us waiting for over forty minutes, their solution was that I stay in a hotel Yuma for a day or two while they ordered the tires. Driving through the mountains on a spare & a damaged tire with the two little kids was not a risk I wanted to take, but staying in a hotel room with them for a few days was also not something I thought I could handle well. As icing on the cake, the extra thousands of dollars we spent on warranties did not cover the tires under this situation. On top of the hotel room I would have had to spring for, the tires are $250 a piece. I left & found the much needed help I needed elsewhere at a much better price. read more

This place is COMPLETELY UNRELIABLE! I LOVE Toyota, all of my vehicles are Toyota but this dealership is the worst. The people that work here are nice, they guys have always treating me nice but their services people do NOT do have of the work they say they do at the multi-point inspection. I have a 2019 Tacoma, only get it serviced at this dealership. I brought it for its scheduled maintenance, two weeks later I went to Phoenix and while I was in Phoenix the heard cracking (it was bad) I turned off the vehicle and go check out the noise. Well I find it the front wheel shaft is broken and metal pieces were on the ground. I had to tow the car to a safe place and get it taken to a mechanic. The mechanic looks into it and long story short he said that happened because I had a differential support broken and eventually cause the shaft to five out and break as well. The mechanic said it had been broken for a while for it to cause that much damage. I got stuck in Phoenix for 4 days waiting for the repairs. Mechanic also found that the fluids were NOT topped off like they claim they do. I have noticed the same lack of "inspection" to the vehicles I own every time I take them in. When I have said something they give me some excuse or another of how it wasn't like that when they check it and that thing can pop up day or hours after being checked. read more

Very poor service. We had an appointment made prior to coming. We were told the car would be finished in about an hour. We left for an hour and came back only to find out they hadn't even started servicing our truck. Very disappointing. I was also disappointed to find that they do not offer a shuttle service on Saturdays like most other dealerships. Our visit took up our entire Saturday morning and cost us extra because we had to call for an Uber. It is such a shame that this is the closest Toyota dealership. From now on I will make my appointments in Phoenix when I am there. read more

Back in February I was looking for a new vehicle as my only vehicle blew a head gasket. I was having trouble finding exactly what I wanted in Phoenix and started broadening my search. I found exactly what I wanted at Alexander Toyota, a Night Armor colored 2014 Nissan Xterra with 4WD and in excellent condition. It also happened to be for sale at a very reasonable price. The only catch was that it was 180 miles away. I contacted Alexander via their webform and started talking to Jose. He was extremely nice and accommodating and without his patience and accommodation, who knows how long I would have been looking for a similar vehicle. I had been in talks with a smaller local car dealer about a 2007 4WD Xterra in night armor with twice as many miles and could not believe how shady, unprofessional, and flat out rude they were. They were the stereotypical shady used lot that everybody loathes and tries to avoid. Alexander was exactly the opposite. If and when I need a new vehicle in another 10 years (hopefully), I won't hesitate to see what they have available even though it means a 360 mile round trip. My experience was that great and well worth the drive. Other than having to replace the serpentine belt (it was due for replacement), my Xterra has been trouble free. I love my vehicle and seriously can't thank Jose and Alexander Toyota enough for my baby. I used to live in Yuma for years and now I live in the Los Angeles area, well me and My Girl have a lease Toyota Camry that's about due and were looking to find out the best choice to make moving forward. We called some local dealers and they would not listen to our requests and it seemed that they were just set on one course of action. That course of action would double our payment if not more. I called My old hometown dealer and spoke to Michael Petty, this young man not only listened, he offered us a few different options and keep the price lower, or for a shorter time frame a little more money then we are paying now. He also offered us several other different options on cars, sending pictures and pricing with no pressure. We haven't made the final decision yet but when we do you can bet we will be planning a trip out to Yuma and seeing Michael in person. read more

Summer turned out long. Our Prius started running rough in middle of July. Engine light came on, we took it to Alexander Toyota (AT). We were told nothing was wrong with car and mechanic couldn't replicate symptoms in shop. Engine codes were p300, 301, 302....cylinders misfiring. This is documented on receipts. Engine light was reset and we picked up car from dealership. Days later, same problem, but getting worse. Car knocked and shuddered, engine light came on. We took it to dealership, they switched out a sparkplug or two(plugs were brand new-- just replaced by AT in June), checked the coils, reset the engine light again and returned the prius. They couldnt diagnose what was wrong. Couple days later, our prius developed into horrific knocking+ now smoke coming from exhaust. Immediately return to AT the next morn. By this 3rd time, I started doing research online on Priuschat forum and realized we probably now had a blown head gasket. AT also realized it. My husband and I had a lengthy discussion with Rick, service mgr. He was very professional in dealing with our complaints and frustrations. We also called Toyota corporate. Apparently together they decided to give us a steep discount for repair. We were very grateful for that, although we suspect blown head gasket could have been avoided if the problem was diagnosed first time around. The prius was in AT shop for 20 days. The day we picked up our Prius(Aug 28), we were informed that it was still misfiring. But they switched out the injectors and we were told all was now good to go. Brought the car home and it misfired on us that same evening. By this time my husband and I had done a lot of reading on Priuschat. Priuschat diagnosed problem as a dirty/clogged EGR valve. Not wanting to go back to AT, and out of sheer neccessity(we are not mechanics), my husb and I took apart our EGR system in our garage using a youtube video as a guide and cleaned our EGR valve/pipe/all components. It was so black & dirty, the valve port was stuck shut. Put it all back together and, VIOLA! No more misfiring or rough engine starts! No more knocking,shuddering. Car runs great now. It's been a week. If you own a prius, i highly recommend Priuschat online to help you diagnose your problems. Unfortunately we were not able to solve original mechanical issue with this dealership. But four stars for Rick's professionalism. read more

Should have listened to other comments. This is the worst toyota ever i live in phoenix, my maintenance light came on so i called while on the freeway to yuma and was told it would be $46. Then i got there and it magically went up to $64. The funniest part is that they called me a liar and said they never said that it would be $46. Service guy asked how much i usually pay and i said $48 at power Toyota in tempe, AZ he laughed and said "no way" and was offended that i decided not to get an oil change. Came in with a flat tire. It had to be replaced. There was only one other customer at the place when i arrived. It took almost 2 hours to put 1 tire on my truck, and they couldn't get the spare back up under the truck where it belonged. On top of that the service manager that i worked with was too lazy to process a claim on the tire. Discount tire can put 4 tires on a car in about an hour. What the heck. This is probable the worst dealership service center I have ever brought one of my cars. I own 3 Toyotas. read more

Stay away! From all sides and angles, they only do high pressure sales and hide true costs until it's too late! Why don't they disclose everything from the start like an honest negotiation (how much giving for trade, how much is cost, how much is interest rate, for how many years, etc). Instead, they hid it all except the monthly payment! Then when it comes time to sign, remove prior offers (no window tinting or any other upgrades) and by that time, you are just too tired to negotiate anymore. I am a Prius gal and my husband is a Ford truck guy and we will from this point forward be driving the 200 miles to Phoenix rather than deal with you guys again (this was second purchase, and LAST purchase). read more

Service and standing by product.... Not so great... We purchased a 2012 Venza and there is a problem with the dash. We took the vehicle in and were originally told that the dash would be repaired by the service department because it was a problem. 2 hours later we we went to pick the vehicle up and were told it would not be fixed. They told us that it was a common problem/defect with all Venza's. I mentioned to the Service Manager that perhaps Toyota needed to recall the Venza's for the issue on the dash and was told, "That would take an act of Congress." I guess Toyota doesn't really stand by their products and I am kicking myself for not choosing the Explorer after all. :/ The Regional Warranty Rep did get involved and their solution is to offer us a dash mat to cover the defects of warping along all the seams and speaker covers. We were told that what will most likely happen is the dash will be re-designed because it is a common problem. (I guess that doesn't help us much) I wonder what will happen when we try to trade in this vehicle with the dash popping up all over. This vehicle is not even a month old and I took it in with less than 500 miles on it. I don't think covering Toyota's problem with their fix of a dash mat is acceptable. :/ DO NOT BUY A VENZA (at least until they resolve their dash issue) and at the very least be warned about them NOT standing behind their warranties!! I do admit Brent W. is a great salesperson but I think it is odd that the only 5 rating for the dealership is coming from him as he works there. read more

Frank in the service dept. is professional, courteous & will go that extra mile. Refreshing! We had repeated issues with our RAV4. The mechanics/technicians did their utmost to fix the problem. With a little patience on our part & lots of hard work on the Alexander teams part it looks like the problem was resolved. We went to 3 mechanics prior to going to Alexander because we were afraid we would be over charged by Toyota. BIG MISTAKE! You do get what you pay for! I won't make that mistake again. I recently scheduled an appointment with Alexander Toyota and was very disappointed . I paid 98 dollars for a oil change and tire rotation which came with a free car wash. When I got my truck back it was still wet and had some surface scratches on the hood that looked like they dried my truck with a dirty rag. And when I got home I checked all my fluids ,and my windshield wiper fluid was completely empty .So much for topping off all fluids in the vehicle. So at this point ,I don't even really know if they even did what they said they were going to do. I will never go to this dealership unless I Absolutely have to. I would rather drive three hours to San Diego ,then take my truck to Alexander Toyota of Yuma. The customer service was terrible. Don't let them wash your vehicles. read more

I received a coupon for a free brake inspection and set up an appointment and after an hour was told that my brakes were fine. No way I said!! When I was traveling at highway speed and had to apply them, the brake pedal went up and down rapidly. Oh he said, why didn't you inform me of that prior to the inspection and I replied "that's what the inspection is for, to let me know if there is something I should be concerned about". No, he said, we only do a visual inspection and by the way we noticed your hoses and belts are due to be replaced with parts and labor will be $333.00 What a freakin CON, send me a free brake inspection as a ruse to try and drum up business.
